I've never understood what this banner meant.
anybody who isn't a Latino newfag knows streaming is bad
making fun of people who watch low-quality pirate streams of anime rather than torrenting higher quality copies and facetiously extrapolating the criticism to people who watch livestreamed sports, the joke being that the high-quality torrent and low-quality stream dichotomy doesn't exist in that context. hope this helps
>>283769061This. Streaming is for redditors.
>>283769043You had to be here around the 2009-2011 range when /sp/ was briefly the forefront of 4chan culture to truly get it.
>>283769110>when /sp/ was briefly the forefront of 4chan cultureI quite literally don't believe that.
>>283769118It wasn't anything like Baneposting but /sp/ had some wild shit.
>>283769110It was almost entirely 2011, with a bit of 2010 as it mostly faded in 2012.
>>283769118/sp/ was absolutely hysterical back in the day.Couldn't last, though.
>>283769159Now it's a lot of schizoposting in /epl/
>>283769104were sports streams back then at similar quality to tv broadcasts?
>>283769118it was a better time then the jannies killed everything
>>283769104And now most /a/fags stream their anime and most /sp/fags watch sports on TV. It's like pottery.
>>283769118It was a better time.
>>283769299/a/ sucks so much now you can just tell the average user here is a homeschooled ESL teenager.
What's the cultural center of 4chan nowadays? Still /pol/?

>>283769118Habeeb it!
>>283769470ITTY BITTY BABYITTY BITTY BOAT
>>283769350I don't feel like there is one. I think we're in the 'post' period but ruined, 4chan is a hasbeen and that's probably a good thing. Anything happening on the internet, is happening somewhere else aside from 4chan. It's probably discord or some shit, one of the social media sites; all these are used by the younger generation and by people more connected to IRL. And increasingly IRL and the internet are becoming linked to each other. I've been here since 2006 and first went to /b/ because of raids, then /a/ and /k/ were my home boards and both had a very strong board culture. /a/ is now flat and quite lifeless but /k/ is even more changed, normalfag and ruined.
>>283769540TWINKIE HOUSEWell, the order was wrong, though.
>>283769218/sp/ declined when jannies cracked down on bro culture back in 2013
You know what's louder than you? These.
>>283769549>and that's probably a good thinghow
>>283769350>Still /pol/?Not for many years now. 4chan has no cultural center. It's not very culturally important on the internet these days. It's like the Ottoman empire in the 19th century.
>>283769104Huh, and I thought it was about /a/ pulling together to stream sports for /sp/.
>>283769118
>>283769549twitchchat stole 4chins thunder1 post per minute cannot compare to the dopamine of mindlessly spamming subbed emojis
>>283769218The part about /his/ is such a blatant lie. You can literally look at the first few dozen posts on desuarchive and plenty of them are supportive of racism, colonialism and that sort of thing. If you are to ignore that undisputable proof, even if /his/ was once mainly tankies at one point, when did it get taken over by /pol/? That board was made near the end of 2015, the anon that made this post claims that the reddit invasion began during the middle of 2015 so that doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
>>283769549The appeal of this website is that you're anonymous. You can pretend to be anyone with any opinion and then contradict yourself in the very next post. You can post anything without worrying about consequences from your job, school or IRL people you know. And if you get banned it's not like you lost reputation or a bunch of relationships or anything like in traditional forums. I feel like none of this matters for younger generations. They will post controversial shit on twitter linked to their email while also talking about their workplace on the same account and not give a fuck. Or worse, they will happily self censor, maybe being themselves on discord with close friends only. With the open internet being replaced by a bunch of centralized monopolies and with this website being a shitty experience on mobiles where the kids are, I can't see this place ever becoming culturally relevant again.
