So you're saying consciousness has evolved because males wanted to show off to other males in a non sexual way?

Just rescued a magpie stuck and tangled on a long dry tree branch for a couple of days, with a thread knotted his foot to branch, he absolutely panicked to my throw hook attempts from 5th floor window and broke his left ankle open in the process. finally broke the dead branch and collected the fella immediately.

the bone is out and foot is limping down barely held by the other half of ankle flesh. no use for the foot at this point guess.

Its night and saturday so no photos until morning, no vets available either. got him in a cat box on a soft pad, with water and bits of tomato, cheese and sausage. dont know what these things eat.

he's past flyling age, young.

no blood but the area was fluidic a little, indicating the fresh break. resting in dark and comfy room with air and room level temp.

recently checked and he's awake, acting normal, but afraid of course, dropped a couple poop on the sheet. I left.

any experts? I didnt want to gauze his ankle due his trauma already, or force stabilize it because the bone was sticking out beyond level where it ruptured.

Got him some more meal and room.
Well, his window was open and he didn't fly out.
Then his family came by, made a fuss, took him with them and they're gone.

Now I want to adopt a baby crow

Yep, that was it. Thanks a lot.
So the conclusion is the best practice turns out to have self-adhering elastic gauze with no chems or adhesive, for a stickout bone broken leg that waited for more than a day with bone dried out. It will keep him adequate for daily goings and his leg safe from pokes and branches.

I wish vets were not merchanted out or available at the weekend. A same day operation would be of course putting the bone back matching the breakline and doing tourniquet.
My busy head forgot to take a last photo or with the gauze.
My best wishes for the little kid.

What is this thing? I found it while I was on a walk. At first I thought it was a piece of dogshit being carried off by ants. I tried googling based off its description but I can't find anything.

My Corgi is an insane herding dog but a sweet boy. Not like the lazy internet Corgi. He also was the runt of the litter. He's 14 months old now and only 23 pounds soaking wet.
My Rott mix is so sweet, she never ever barks unless someone is on my property where she knows they shouldn't be, goes double for animal intruders. I didn't know she could bark at all for the first two months I had her. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body....unless you are a racoon or opossum. She lets my wild Corgi beat her up and is always super gentle. She's one of the best dogs I have ever had and when I found her she was literally starving to death in the deep woods, origins unknown. I've only heard good things from other Rottweiler owners. I suspect she's either mixed with Lab or German Shepard or even a "not true to type" Rottweiler that was abandoned in the woods for not looking right.

>CIA and Bane
I wish, those are funny names. If so the Corgi would be Bane and CIA for the Rottweiler. I actually made some funny AI generated memes with glowing Corgi and it says "C.I.A" on it. But Here is another pic of my big girl instead. Sorry this is from a trail cam, hence low rez.

i'm hearthbroken /an/ my spaniel has been put to sleep at only 3 and half years old. she struggled with epilepsy and would go into clusters of seizures and while pills kept them from happening months apart at a time they got more and more frequent this year. she had been staying with the vet since sunday to monitor but it got so bad she was having a seizure every time she woke up from sedation. it was likely she had a brain lesion but confirmation let alone treatment was far too expensive for me to chase and i feel terrible. i grew up with other spaniels and they lived into their teens so seeing her go so young feels so wrong.

This is the same tactic political comedians use whenever their political analysis is criticized as shallow..."It's just entertainment, guys! Why you holding me to these high standards, bro??"

It's even more grating when someone does it in a scientific field.
>>
>>5129994
He seems to rank primarily based on individual strength in their group and barely considers "respawn rate".
Which means that some animals that are close to exinction are high tier while animals like Pigeons and Cockroaches are low tier despite them due to their massive habitats and numbers being overall much more successful just weaker individually.

This but unironically
Buy an ad so I can block it fag

My bunny just refuses to use it more than her bed. I tried to move it in her cage, but she just avoids it. More that, I saw her sitting on the edge of her box with her butt over it just enough to pee out. I clean her litter box every two days and when necessary, clean other bedding in her cage 2-3 times a week, but now I'm forced to clean it almost every day while her box stay clean.
Should I buy her a new one? Make all of her cage flooring to be one big litter box?

I had a bunny be like that. I had to get a larger pan, with higher edges so she couldn't pee over the side. Maybe try different types of litter.
>>
>>5133285
Get an even smaller cage that way she's forced to walk on it if she wants to move around, then watch her like a hawk for her next movement. If she goes on the litterbox give his a super reward. Like a date or a strawberry.

God fucking dammit. I wanted to make a question, but there are no cat general. Fine, i'll create one edition

My cat will turn 5 years old this month. She never purred. The only time i listened to her purring, was when she fell from my building and disappeared for 3 days. When we found her, and brought her, she purred very loud for some days. She was 1 yar old then
But lately, in the past months, she purrs a lot when i pet her, give her food, or hold her like a baby. Why is this?

Sorry for the loss of your fur family. I just lost my last cat 3 weeks ago and it still hurts. He was 19 years old and I had him since he was about a month old. About 3 months ago his behavior changed and it was a pancreas infection which I got cleared up but then he started barely eating, losing a bunch of weight and was struggling to walk after nearly perfect health for 19 years. Took him back to the vet and found out he had anemia and there just wasn't much to be done due to his age and how quickly he declined. I said goodbye to him a week later. One of the hardest things i've ever had to do. I miss him so much it's unreal. He was my shadow, always lurking around and keeping an eye on me till the very end. His name was Turd Ferguson and he was one hell of a funny cat.

Animals don't understand pain, persistent sensations/neurological dysfunctions (epilepsy, syringomyelia), that pain can have an end (chemo for cancer). What matters it their quality of life, not length of life. That cat has NO quality of life.

My dumbass cat is obsessed with licking my used earplugs. You'd think it'd be bitter with the earwax. Any idea why she'd do this?

I guess I don't know nearly as much as I thought I did. I assume you're well-researched enough to know not to use miracle gro peat, but maybe your peat is contaminated with salt or something. You could try flushing it with distilled water and draining it to clear out anything.
