sometimes when my cat's visiting with me he'll lightly bite me. Why does he do that? He'll be purring and laying on my chest and I'll go to pet him and he'll nip my finger and then rub up against me. It's not like an aggressive thing but I don't know why he's doing it.

Basically this. Cats most commonly rub against a person when they're all cuddly and loving, but they can also lick and nip you, I guess to groom you
