I've noticed in recent years that people on the internet, especially /v/, really love to use the word "disingenuous" a lot when arguing. Pic related is an archive search of the word on /v/ for each year, you can see the rise of its use though it's actually been going down in the past 2 years after its peak in 2024, with this years projection being even lower.I did the same search on some other boards (too lazy to cap). Some boards like /r9k/ and /his/ didn't have any noticeable increase in use however most boards do. The rise isn't uniform across the boards with there being different peak years but it's clear that they're all saying it more than the used to. Doing some very rough comparisons of the ratio of use:postcount between the larger boards like /a/ and /vg/, /v/ users tend to use it more than them too, using it about twice as much as /v/ and 6 times as /a/.4plebs unfortunately caps out at 1000 posts, and I can't be fucked to do it in chunks, but doing a few smaller searches on /pol/ shows that they use it a lot too. From personal experience I see used mainly for culture war/political discussion so I'd expect they'd have a similar trend as /v/.
