Does anyone have any general tips for making a Bruno cosplay? I'm pretty much lost, im not even sure how to do his weird braid without the wefts showing. I also really don't know what to do in the places where the zippers connect, Ike where they form a v on the back
>>
I'm wanting to do a Gyro cosplay with actual lettering on the grills. Is there any kind of glue I can put over a pair of gold grills with some foil stickers on that is orally safe that won't be dissolved by saliva?
>>
>>9605829
I just finished a Bruno cosplay. For the braid on the top I brought extra wefts to use for them, pulled them up from the underside of the wig just behind the fringe in a few different places then French braided and tucked it under again at the end. I then carefully stitched them in place to cover any showing wefts once I had done the braid down the part of the wig.
For the zips, I used ones with plastic teeth that melted under a high temperature iron. Sew the zips in place and then at the junctions melt them flat. If you're careful this won't show on the good side and your zips will still be 100% functional.
>>
>>9606096
Thanks! that helps a lot, is there anyway you could post a pic of the zipper?

No problem. My costume is at the bottom of a suitcase right now as I've travelled for a con but I'll be back home and able to unpack it to do so in a couple of days

Damn, that's a pretty nice... all of them I guess. Got any close-ups? Especially curious about Stroheim and the stands.

Excuse the fact it desperately needs an iron, I got in at 4am and the last thing I feel like doing today is ironing a costume. The inside shot shows how melted the zip is and the shot of the inside of my sleeve zips is just cause I had an extra space and I think those are fun.

I need to find shoes like this, for johnny cosplay.
some help
>>
>>9608352
You're more than likely going to have to make them yourself. Every Johnny cosplayer I have ever seen has had to make the shoes themselves for the shoepants. It's pretty easy, though.
>>
>>9608412
i mean ,shoes like this without the "pattern"
>>
>>9608447
As in blue shoes? You can get them off of Amazon or Ebay, or thrift shoes and paint them.
>>
>>9608447
>>9608557
Yep, search for ankle boots or booties, those are women's shoes btw
>>

Thanks! that really clears things up! the glitter pockets are cute

I wanted to do a JoJo cosplay but I don't know what character to do. I'm 5'11' with brown hair and green eyes and on the thin side(not wiry). I thought that maybe Baron Zeppeli would be easy for me to do.
>>
>>9611489
Descriptions don't really help unfortunately, I'd suggest you selfpost but not everyone is comfortable with that. But sure, Baron Zeppeli isn't cosplayed very often and it's always nice to see more under-cosplayed characters, go for it.

I've been planning out a Gyro cosplay for an upcoming con and I have most of the components figured out in theory but I'm still lost as to how to fabricate the shirt and ball holsters. I am new to cosplaying and could use some guidance. I have little knowledge of sewing and limited access to a machine (friend).

how do i make these? i want to make these and josuke's pins for katsu but all the ones I ever see just look like glitter painted foam sheets or cardboard
>>
>>9619762
Those ones look like they might be cast from resin. Have a look in the resin thread and see if there's any tips and tricks but basically what you'll be looking at doing is sculpting the shapes yourself, making moulds of them and then casting the resin in those. Or you can just make the shapes out of polymer clay and paint them if you're only wanting one offs. Worbla over a craft foam base is also a more lightweight option if you're good with shaping foam.

Dude it's just saying to use hairspray and a hair dryer to set the curls in place, its not a fundamentally different process than other wig styling techniques. If you have to, think of the as weird spikes or something

Has anyone here ever made part 3 Jotaro's jacket/coat?

I've seen multiple people online suggest using a matrix costume pattern from simplicity, but it is no longer in production, and as a result super expensive.

After looking through the patterns at joann's, this mccall's costume coat looked like something that I might be able to work with. It will need some modifications obviously (for example, the collar). I'm currently making a draft of the jacket in muslin, but because some of the pattern pieces are so long, it uses a ton of fabric.

This is my first time sewing, and it has been pretty challenging so far. If anyone has any advice for me with regards to details of the jacket specifically, or just tips on sewing in general, I would really appreciate it.

There are two different pairs of official Polnareff earrings. On the right is from Universal Studios Japan, they're screw on, quite cheap and easy to find on yahoo!japan. Left pair is by Bandai, made from glass and sterling silver and obviously significantly more expensive. Really pretty though, and they might still have a preorder going on for this pair right now. I'm pretty sure that Bandai has an official pair of Rohan earrings too, and there are quite a few cheaper handmade replicas if they're out of your budget.
>>
>>9624862
Yeah I was just looking at the Bandai Rohan earrings, but I'm not willing to spend $200+ on a pair of earrings, they are really beautiful though

Alternatively, EVA foam gilded in a copper-colored foil.

I've got Weather lined up for my next cosplay and first from Jojo. Already have the basic costume all planned out but I have some ideas I want input on.

Should I make some kind of cloud prop to go around my shoulders/back since his back is pretty plain? What would be a good way of going about doing so?

Also thinking about handing out plastic snails/frogs to other Jojo cosplayers, does that sound like a good idea?
>>
>>9633869
The snails and frogs sound like fun, I bet they'd confuse those who hadn't read part 6 yet too, which could be funny.

Any one got any tips for how to go about a BTD Kira wig? I'm not very handy with wigs yet. Figured I'd be using an arda front lace wig as a base but not entirely sure what one would be best or how to go about the black streaks. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated
>>
For a Narancia cosplay, would you recommend leggings or tight pants?

I'm a guy, for reference.
>>
>>9642949
I'd say go with leggings if you can pull off the look.
>>
>>9639851
>>9639853
If the scene in the manga was really in a tourist little train it would have been hilarious ( I still like the pics)

>>9641200
for the streaks you should buy black wefts and ventilate the hair of it on the lace hair line and ad some little piece wefts in the wig to make the pattern continue without making big strands of hair. ( also pluck out some hairs from the arda lace front, the hairline on them look too thick )

If you can find a nice fabric for it, you can just do it as a long rectangle with rolled edges so they don't fray. This is a pretty good blog covering rolled hems- http://blog.megannielsen.com/2013/05/3-ways-to-sew-a-rolled-hem/
