My story (im not good at green text):

-Was one of the first followers of a cosplayer that blew up recently.
-Saw her soar in followers, really liked her cosplays.
-Find out she lives in my city, and is going to a nearby con.
-I also happen to be going to said con.
-I feel a bit excited, hoping to say hi and maybe get an autograph or picture.
-I see her in a crowd of people talking it up.
-I get introduced to her.
-She sees me, and as i say "im a big fan", she gives me a surprised look, then says she has to go somewhere for a second.
-Literally goes over a few steps to the left.
-I feel like shit, but the con was decent.
-I find out later shes kind of a drama queen who tries to climb the social ladder of cosplay and otherwise.
-She complains about people oversexualizing her, and the haters.
-Ive come to realize that all cosplayers let the massive group of followers go to their heads.
-I stopped following her, and decided ill just be a faggot elsewhere.

Never meet your heroes , kid.
>>
I think the worst part is that I see here sometimes since she lives in my city, just by coincidence. Whats even worse is that she has tons of mutual friends of mine. Theres no escape from this hell.
>>
>>9608296
Bro there's literally tons of other girls. Like, who fuckin' cares? Click like on some other bitch's pictures.
>>
You're right, good point.
>>
>>9608293
>Patreon
>Most fetish models becoming popular as cosplayers despite their lack of quality
>Conventions inviting guests based off of pure popularity
It's like they just go into the cosplay tag on instragram and see who's trending for the week. I know they're looking to sell badges but I wish there were better standards
>Momokun
>If you call it cosplay, everyone has to accept it as such now. Even if it's a bikini with a wig, or maybe not even that.
>>
>seeing cosplayers on ig who put in a pair of circle lenses and throw on some basic clothes with paint messily slapped onto it getting 7-8k likes meanwhile actual good cosplayers are getting like 200-500
>the fact anyone who clearly (over the top) photoshops has anything of a following what so ever
>no one cares about craftmanship quality anymore
>"i put a lot of effort in!" is now a valid and accepted excuse for looking like garbage
>there are cosplayers getting invited to cons as guests purely based on the fact they're fat or poc who cannot craft for their lives, meanwhile cosplayers (who may also be fat/poc) are ignored because they dont make the fact they're fat/poc/whatever their entire brand

and the newest one
>seeing people who preach "cosplay is for everyone, anyone can cosplay" now trying to preach that anyone who doesn't have the same opinion of them isn't welcome
>>
>>9608792

it's so hard to find good craftsmanship people on instagram because nobody fucking boosts them. started following random SCA and Larp people just to get my sewing porn.
>>
>>9608296
What do you mean "youre not good at greentext?" You literally just
>greentext
>>
disappointing when you find out a cosplayer you like doesn't actually make a single thing they cosplay and just buy it all.
>>
The fact that everyone on my Instagram feed is begging for donations and then posting their lineups for their 80 summer conventions with new lineups each time. I work full time and still have had to say "no" to conventions I could've squeaked out money for because I'd rather save and be able to not panic at the convention that my account is in the negatives.

Also, the fact that there's so many underage people meshing with actual bonafide adults. I know of 14 year olds that are friends with 28 year olds because "tee hee we both cosplay from the same anime!" as if that's not the creepiest fucking shit ever.
>>
I will honestly never get those certain cosplayers who absolutely want to become known or famous. I thought cosplay was for fun, not a competition of who gets more likes. Yes ofcourse, there are cosplayers who are known because people love their skills in crafting. But your goals shouldn't be "i want to be famous", your goal should be "i am proud of what i have made and how hard i worked on it.". This is the part that disappoints me in the cosplay community...
>>
>>9608953
>Also, the fact that there's so many underage people meshing with actual bonafide adults.

this. as a 14 year old to the time i was about 17 all my friends were 25-39. theres a ton of creeps in the community and on top of that just too many people willing to be close to minors to begin with.

now as a 20 year old i've seen 16 year olds invited to room parties full of 20+ year olds where the host and other guests GAVE AND ALLOWED them to drink.
>>
>>9608984
I don't wanna name names because she's pretty well known for cosplaying among a specific series, but my boyfriend and I were talking to this one girl briefly at a convention and I knew [of] her from social media and tried to keep it short, but driving back from the convention my bf and I were talking about how there's a lot of sexualized young girls in the cosplay scene and I mentioned how that girl had RECENTLY turned 14. "The girl that was complaining about how high her stripper heels were?" "Yup. And the people she was with? Our age." [We're 22 and 25] It was his first convention and he was so shocked but I've been going to cons for years so I'm used to it.

I just really worry about these girls...
>>
>>9608293
I was disappointed the moment you used a pepe meme on this board.
>>
>friend of a friend complains to me about people who try to be cosplay famous
>within the year she purchased over 20,000 followers on instagram
>instagram starts purging bot accounts and she loses a bunch of followers
>claims she lost the followers because she's gay and they were homophobic
>>
>>9608984

conversely as a con-mom type person, I'd rather have that 16 year old drinking in my room party with people I know are legit and where we can cut them off and keep them hydrated, than having the kid go out and get some sketchy dude to buy them drinks and be in an unsafe situation.
>>
Pretty much everything after about 2009

>16 year olds invited to room parties full of 20+ year olds where the host and other guests GAVE AND ALLOWED them to drink
Who cares lmao. Didn't you go to high school?
>>
>>9608296
Cosplayers are normal people, most of them don't know how to respond to randoms fawning over them. She's also in a big crowd talking, which likely means she's busy. You sound autistic af desu.
>>
>>9608792
People who go on instagram don't go in looking for great cosplayers, they go in looking for nice aesthetics. Casuals normies don't give a shit about your cosplay quality, they just want to see pretty people.
>>
>>9608293
When I looked in the mirror and realized just how worthless and hideous I am
>>
What bugs me the most is that a lot of these women were non-egotistic, and now that theyre "cosfamous" theyre bitchy and uppity. My only solace is that while yes they get maybe at most $1-2 thousand a month on patreon, its not actually that amazing, do you know how much rent, food etc cost? Nigguh that shits expensive. Plus theyre aging, so only a matter of time til theyre flavour of the month.
>>
>>9609270
Just because they don't want to talk to strangers coming up and creeping on them doesn't make them bitchy and uppity anon. Most of them do work jobs outside Patreon, too, unless they make enough money to cover all their living expenses. Get a grip, you probably came off as a creeper. Cut your losses and be more socially aware instead of crying on the 4chinz.
>>
Breh, i just agreed to move on. We're all just sharing stories is all. Hell, maybe I did come off as creepy, but I guess thats that and I just have to catch myself better.
>>
When you spend a shit-ton of time of dedicated passion into a costume just to have a bunch of normies and fuckwits go "oh cool" and confuse you for some other fucking character from a franchise or show that barely even remotely resembles what you're dressed as.
>>
>Watching the AX Fan Page tell me I should be okay with blackfacing in cosplay because "muh accuracy"
>Watching nerds who were probably made fun of as children and teens make fun of other nerds
>Being called niggachu for an entire convention
>>
>>9609306
>niggachu
w-what
>>
I just like to kek at at cosplay sluts pages when they post about people making them out to be sexual objects, yet they known damn well enough that theyre doing it all on purpose for attention, and their beta followers fall for it, giving them sympathy likes and replies. "Yeah guys, respect our queen!"
>>
"Niggachu"

Good.

I cant tell if the cosplay scene is generally racist, because i tune out people who call anyone racist or nazis, as its most often not the case 11/10 times.
>>
>>9608953
Yeah, that's tricky to maneuver. I have a couple convention/social media friends that are in middle school, and we just happened to bond over liking some of the same stuff. As an adult, I definitely can't have the same kind of friendship with a 14 year old as I can with one of my peers, so I always keep our conversations totally clean and casual, and I act more like an auntie/mentor than an equal.
>>
Now the way I see it, if youre a slut or/and an attention whore, then just roll with it. Dont hide it, dont pretend that youre crying about people being haters, or sexists, etc, just roll with it. Sure youre an attention seeking whore, but at least you own it. The other path is pretty much being Jessica Niggers, Momomohammid, or Slutvira, but whatever floats your boat i guess.
>>
>>9608296
You literally could just replace the "-" with a ">"
>>
>>9609173
alright so when some 16 year old gets piss ass drunk in your party full of adults & then sexually harassed you can explain it to the cops
>>
>>9609556
>when some 16 year old gets piss ass drunk
>and gets sexually harassed

Hope you're not victim blaming there, anon.
Regardless, thirsty manchildren don't come to my parties, and I lose patience for drunk toddlers and throw them out WAY before they're drunk.
>>
>>9608984
Are you American? In Europe, mostly the UK and Ireland, drinking at 16 is normal af.
>>
>>9608984
I've seen 13 y/os getting drunk and having sex at parties lmao that type of stuff is normal
>>
>>9609173
You guys, your differences of morality don't mean shit if you get caught giving alcohol to a teenager by the police or hotel staff. Or if con staff asks where a proudly drunk teen got their alcohol after they have left your room to go to the con rave or something. I'm talking about the US btw.
>>
Learning certain Instagram accounts that reposts photos won't post yours because they're friends with egotistical photographers who will bitch them out if they post photos from competitors in their region.
>>
>>9609328
Yeah. Cosplay fictional animal and still considered the "black version".

>>9609382
It can be. It's not overtly racist, but there is a lot of casually overlooked racism.
>>
Talking with feminist cosplay accquantance
>Overly sexualized video game/anime characters give girls negative body images
>Women accurately cosplaying those characters support the patriarchy
>Obese cosplayers promote positive body image
>Obese cosplayers doing sexy versions of non-sexualized characters is empowering
So as a male, I'm only supposed to pay attention the obese and ugly cosplayers, not the thin and attractive ones? Sounds like you need to hit the gym.
>REEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
>White people cosplaying POC is cultural appropriation
>POC cosplaying white characters is empowering
So white people are only supposed to cosplay white people, but POC can cosplay anything they want?
>REEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
>Cosplay is a creative art
>Crossplay/AUs/Closet Cosplay is just as good as a faithful recreation
>Wigs aren't mandatory and casual cosplay works too because they don't where their iconic outfits all the time
So basically people can do whatever they want and be completely unrecognizable as the character they're supposed to be, just throw on some clothes from their closet that they think a character might wear on laundry day, and that's just as good as someone who's painstakingly recreated every small detail of the character?
>REEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

It's sad how many people actually agree with these dumb opinions.

>>
>>9609908
...no it's not? 90% of the anime cosplay community in most of the US is white people cosplaying Asian characters, no one gives a shit. A ton of my friends and circle are the very social activist/would be called "SJW" crowd if the posted here and none of them hold this opinion either? I've literally never encountered anyone in the community who thinks this IRL bruh. I'm more than willing to admit they exist, in fact, I'm sure some do, but it's a phenomenally tiny number of people.
>>
In Canada we have a bunch of pretentious cosplayers, a lot of them are White and Asian, and cosplay all kinds of things.
>>
Recently been seeing a lot of people asking for handouts for medical expenses on one of their social media sites when in the same day, on a different site, they'll be talking about how many cons they're going to or bragging about how many cosplays they do per year... Reeks of scamming and entitlement to me. Yeah, it sucks not getting to do what you want because you got bills to pay, but don't guilt trip your friends into financing your irresponsibility and inability to prioritize. There are a lot of legal ways to get money to pay for this stuff that doesn't resort to using your friends as an extension of your bank account, and I hate seeing other people get scammed like this.
>>
Kek, "they have jobs outside of Patreon", yeah working at a shitty fast food joint or beauty store is really helping them along. Listen, they'll turn old, and realize they should have gotten a real job, or at least went into cam whoring since theyre a step away from it.

>>
>>9610225
This. I know a fair few SJW types and they're cool with white people cosplaying nonwhite characters as long as the characters aren't bad stereotypes to begin with and you don't do blackface or "appropriate" things like afros and dreadlocks. Not being able to cosplay those characters at all is a pretty extreme opinion and not that common. Just because a couple of people screech it online doesn't mean it's common.

I like the idea of Patreon.
But boudoir cosplays ruined the community and Patreon gave women an excuse to abuse it.
It's less about the characters accuracy and more about the hottest person behind the costumes.

I find women like Jessica Nigri, Momokun, Seviria, Lisalouwho, and say Danielle Beaulieu kinda ruin it all. They act nice, and try to deny their obvious cash whoring, which is fine if they just admitted it, but no. They go around and are bullies and fake as fuck outside the community, as well as in it but through other people. Ive heard of these cosplayers completely shitting on other women, or getting jealous over other women's cosplay or looks. I mean hell, Lisalouwho bullied a chick into near suicide.

Lmao my sides, the only way anyone's gonna be side-eyeing you at a con is if you're acting up. Why should someone you don't even know just lend you their wig for your cosplay because you're too cheap to buy one yourself? I get friends lending cosplays to other friends for lazy sundays and stuff but asking a stranger to just hand you their wig for a day because you don't want to spend money on a cosplay is absolutely fucking absurd.

This. I have real fun crafting cosplays myself, but if I didn't, I'd had no problem just commissioning them. Unless you pass it off as your own work, it doesn't fucking matter.
>>
I'm not a cosplayer. I'm just a dude in his late 20s who had an animu phase and whose friends and girlfriends were largely cosplayers or people dating cosplayers. I always thought about how cool it would be to try my best at some of my favorite characters like Jet Black or Auron, but I'm a normie from a normie family who would have justifiably considered it weird and never got around to actually going to a con.

I used to respect the early 2000s scene as an interesting way for introverts or folks with low esteem to build on their perceived personality flaws through ritualistic social interaction in a controlled, scheduled setting. I had hopes that this envirobment would foster self confidence and courage for these off kilter kids as their adult lives approached.

But it doesn't seem to have turned out like that at all. I bet most of you guys are in my age group, mid to late 20s, that you're chasing glory days of when it was legitimately a hobbyist's hobby. The ride's over, you've gotta let go. You're hanging out with little kids and attention whores who literally sell sex in the form of art, and Marxist indoctrinated morons who spew identity politics.

>Show it off and never mention you bought it, but don't explicitly deny it either

I think you are just jaded by life and think that losing that critical element of wonderment is being an "adult".
I cosplay because it's still fun, with people who are also having fun, and we have fun together. This is me well into my 30s, having a good time, still taking pictures of good outfits, still hitting up panels that amuse me.
I feel bad for you that you forgot how to have fun for yourself at a con.

How do you know where she gets her drinking money? She could have another job and just uses the patreon dosh for cosplay. keeping thirsty fans happy is pretty expensive, so she may need the extra funds for new cosplay
>>
Like I said, shes local. The people I know through her can vouch for that. It happens at times, I mean it happens in literally any cash cow or Patreon. Its just kinda shitty, you know? Not all are like that though, of course.
>>
>>9616101
Why are so many guys so bitter and sad? Like if you don't like what she does with the money don't buy her product and move on. It's not an affront to humanity or anything, jesus
>>
I aint bitter or sad, I didnt pay for jack shit. Im just laughing, but in all seriousness wouldnt you be mad if you bought something from a person, who promised to use that source of income strictly for a certain activity? Its like paying a contractor or electrician for their time and skill, but sometimes they dog fuck and mess around, spending the money on other things instead of for tools, or other equipment, which happens. I get what youre saying, which actually just seems like I should just comvince my friends not to be betas and to not support someone who isnt holding up their part of the investment. Sometimes you switch electricians, sometimes you cancel/switch Patreons.
>>
I'm getting really tired of so called "boudoir" and "lewd" cosplayers bitching when they realize a con has dress codes, and that they can't walk around with their tits or ass just hanging out. Maybe it wouldn't be a problem if they actually put effort into their work instead of just buying a bra and panty set from VS.
>>
I just generally cant stand thots complaining about people seeing through their lewd stuff, and nudes on Patreon and such as cash grabs, and opt to label those true seeing people as "haters", where their beta orbiters flock to repress. Its especially seen in Cosfamous skanks.
>>
I think my favourite part about the Cosfamous sluts, is that if you dare make criticism, it automatically makes you the biggest piece of shit. Youre called out by her, and her white knight beta squads, who call you a virgin, creep, asshole, etc. Mayhaps I might be a few of those things, but youre still a whore, and none of you white knights are getting in her pants. Have fun continuously paying for nudes when you can literally just watch porn, about hotter women too.

Otherwise, you'll get the complete wrong idea of cosplayers and want nothing to do with the hobby.

Uhhh, no. The slutty atmosphere was created by normie guys who found Nigri and wanted to support her and everyone copying her tactics. Other girls saw her success and wanted a piece of that, thus creating a new generation of slutty cosplayers, each going even further than the last to stay relevant. /cgl/ nitpicking on a girl's looks has nothing to do with that and I don't even know how retarded you have to be to come into that conclusion. These constant newfags coming here trying to "mic drop" us need to fucking leave because they literally have no idea about the whole hobby or its history. >Also, the fact that there's so many underage people meshing with actual bonafide adults.

You must be new to the anime fandom.

Back when I was first getting into anime conventions when I was about 12 or 13, all of my convention going friends were minimum 15-20 years older than me. All the people I talked to at cons and made friends with were always older than me (this was the late 90s). That was the beautiful part of being a geek...age didn't matter so much, since we could still talk on the same level about stuff.

On the other hand, we were all dudes, so it might be different for the girls.

>>
>>9622383
I remember when these chicks were literally dressed in green paint, then walked around an entire con with pasties and a thong. How is this cosplay? How is that also allowed with little kids?
>>
>>9622371
I think the age groups do need to be seperated, and they are but people ignore the rules (cos raves, panels etc that are only meant for 18+). Its just fucky that you see these kids getting thrown into it all, and being half naked if not worse while doing so.
>>
>>9622642
Easiest thing to do would be to make 18+ only conventions. Older fans get to mingle, and not get the high school "party" crowd destroying the venue.
>>
>ITT: males who don't cosplay but like to bitch about girls that do
honestly, that's 90% of the cosplay threads these days anyhow
>>
>>9622655
That sounds like a good idea, but cons would never go for it, it'd be cutting back on profits if they limited their sales to only 18+. Unless im mistaken, i think those who are less than 18 make up a considerable portion of convention income?
>>
>>9622672
I'd plan for a smaller, more intimate convention setting. Like Gallifrey 1 size. (2000 or so guests in a smaller area, so people mingle)
>>
>>9622677
Heh, maybe that would work out well enough. Ive had friends who have had their own tries at making cons happen, though even the smallest ones are quite expensive at times. However, an adult only one sounds interesting.

There is a bit of a rise in degenerates within the community, but I feel like that'll balance itself out, or not, which would just mean that Cosplay will be ruined, and then dropped as yesterdays fad, just like everything else the normies ruin.
>>

This is how lice happens
>>

1) They actually believe they're supporting the arts and helping an artist create something. Idiots.

2) Yes they can just look up porn/nudes, but Patreon has just enough interaction via rewards/shoutouts that these idiots think they have a chance of actually getting the cosplayer as a girlfriend. On the surface it's all about sex but I don't think the Patreon trap is fulfilling the betas' sex needs at all.

3) They don't see it as a waste of money because they would spend that money and more in real life with girls they know hoping to escape the friendzone.
>>
>>9629601

Just be normal. Why is it so hard for them?
>>
>>9629723
We're talking about a situation where women think 80 percent of men are ugly or undatable
They really don't stand a chance with conventional dating so they escape into the fantasy of lewd patreons
>>
>>9629770

Now I dont want to come off as a prick here, but Cosplay women are generally 8 out of 10 times really fucked in the head with low self esteem. You or anyone could, if you/they tried, could snag a hot one really easily. The only downside is that theyre either crazy, a feminist, or an sjw most of the time. Pick your poison.

I have friends that are active in the New England Cosplay Community. It's a constant disappointment.

Ive moved passed that whole scenario, I just ignore that person now. Im sure thats a bitch way of dealing with it, but I mean they want nothing to do with me, so I shouldn't put in any effort in attempting to approach them anymore. I check back on this thread a few times a week, I guess im not the only one thinking about how the cosplay scene has changed.
>>
>>9629601
This might be true if you're a lewds cosplayer, but I have a patreon that gets around 600 dollars a month, with half of the money coming from three people. I don't do lewds, and all my cosplays aren't revealing or form fitting. These people don't even want to talk to me, they just want to support me.
>>
>>9630814

I bet there are some that are genuinely great at making props, doing make up, etc and arent whores in thongs doing "boudoire" or whatever the fuck its called in frog talk. However, its overwhelming at the numbers of thots to normal cosplayers, thats what we're talking about.
>>
In the NYC area there's a cosplayer who just turned 18, but before that she was cosplaying sexy Deadpool, Domino, and other cosplays while hitting parties trying to get guys to give her alcohol and fuck her.

I never got the hate-on 4chan had for this chick but holy crap lol.

>I don't make money off cosplay I'm an ~author~ who writes cosplay tutorials???
>>
>>9631509

But of course, I mean why wouldnt she whore herself out? Theres betas to exploit!
>>
>>9631990

Kek thats fucked.
>>
I saw a chick who blew up in followers, lived in my local area. She used to be decent, however she started to ditch her original friends, and began to climb up the ladder through other cosfamous people.

At times I wonder if all cosfamous people end up this way, or if its just the really loud and petty ones that get all the attention, which then paints that false image of cosfamous people.

[x] Invite to hot tub

The only one getting what they want by the end of that scenario is me!
>>
>>9630615
Shit, I'm totally new and was about to start into cosplay as a hobby... what's wrong with the New England community?
>>
Anything "body positive"

Look, I'm sorry. I know it sucks when people are mean to you, and you have my sympathy, but you can not--and should not--just decide that being fat is beautiful now. It is objectively a negative thing to be.
If you're okay with your body, fine. You can be any way you want to be, but... don't push this "fat pride" nonsense out in public where everyone else has to see it.
Just go on a diet if you're fat! It's not that hard!

It's especially irritating, because this hugbox SJW bullshit leads to this scenario where people with things they genuinely can't change with effort, like disabilities and things, are not given the genuine props they deserve for owning and overcoming shortcomings they were burdened with.

We should all be giving credit to no-legs spiderman, not hambeast hamtaro.
>>
>>9636243
I'm sure most of the people flaunting the ~fat is beautiful and heathy~ thing are in their 20s or so. Give them 10-15 years for their joints and heart to deteriorate and then let's see if they still think being fat is good.
>>
>>9636246
But see, that's the thing
I don't want that. I don't want these people to be unhappy, and being led into this lazy, self-indulgent "fat acceptance" thing will lead to that.

I want them to try and improve their health now, so they can be happy. That's my reason for posting in the first place, genuinely. I do not hate these people, I genuinely feel agape for these people strongly. I want the to be the best version of themselves.
>>
>>9636274
I feel the same way. I have an acquaintance who has had multiple doctors tell them to lose weight immediately and they refuse to listen. The sad thing is that if they won't listen to a licensed health professional then they aren't going to listen to anyone else. They have to either figure it out on their own or suffer the repercussions. It is incredibly sad and infuriating but they're often so deep into fat acceptance that fat people will have to learn the hard way.
>>
>>9636457
In general, SJW nonsense is most harmful to all the people they claim to be sticking up for/protecting. I can't think of any example counter to that, really.
>>
>>9636229

The first and third one no, because fat and not good looking, but the fourth, mm damn.
>>
>>9636968
Sometimes you take what you can get, gull.
And it's rare you can get several cute girls to all join you alone for drinks in a hot tub.
>>
>>9637007

Just get the two cute ones, or just the one i mentioned. Dont settle for shit tier, dont get me wrong i like thicc, but those two are kinda fat. Treat yehseeelf, you can snag any girl.
>>
>>9637007

Hot tub sex, its pretty fun.
>>
>>9637034
I didn't say I was going to fuck 'em, bud.
I said I was gonna party with 'em.

You seem to have a low opinion of wammins.
>>
>>9637039

No I respect the wamminz! I dont even ask them to remove the plug from my ass after sex.

Her instagram? Sev_Cosplay. In reality I must have come off as a weird freak, but it happens I guess, life has shitty people, but also decent ones, I just met a shitty one, or rather someone who just didnt want to talk to me and thats their right to do so. However, I met some really cool people later on, so fuck it.
>>
>>9637451

It happens, but like other anon said, I just needed to get over it and move on. Shes treated some other people I know kinda like shit too, and im sure there are others at other cons shes done so to as well, but thats just part of the cosplay scene nowadays.
>>
>>9609270
honestly... thats a perfect amount for where i live.. the bills are low... & rent is low.. when you split it 3 ways. Wish I had that...
>>
>>9639406

Where the hell do you live to get a living place that cheap?
>>
>>9636239
As a NE person also considering getting into cosplay I'm also curious what's wrong.
>>
>>9609007
Get fucked.

>Sev_Cosplay
LMAO she's one of the most obvious cases of bought followers I've seen. Just FYI gulls, if someone doesn't even get 5% of their followers in likes, it's 99% chance that they bought them.
>>
>>9639581

Ive never used Twitter so I dont know shit about shit with it, but that sounds like something she'd do.

>>9622383
Fuck you

Yeah con security and if they dont do anything bout it gonna be sending a few emails and get a refund!

>meet friends through game series cosplay
>everyone really excited about doing a group together for one of the games
>not my favorite, but I'm new and excited for a group
>schedule for fall convention 9 months away
>buy all fabric
>work really hard
>everyone posting progress, really exciting
>last minute
>everyone but me and my bf drop
>"ok we'll try next con"
>full year passes
>no one shuts up about wanting this group, does nothing to get it together
>finally, frustrated, I ditch
>find another group of friends who like this stupid game
>join their group
>have an incredible group at a big con
>old group never stops whining about how they are definitely going to be that someday
>keep bugging me to bring the costumes to random cons when they can't even come up with a single main character
>>
>>9639715

That sucks, people who flake out constantly are the worst.
>>
>>9639713

They seem to just act like its not a thing, just ignoring it and hoping it goes away.
>>
>>9622371
>On the other hand, we were all dudes, so it might be different for the girls.
Yeah it is different, especially since there's been a rise in guys going to conventions for the sake of getting laid instead of being there for the actual anime/comic/game content.
>>
>>9609201
>Cosplayers are normal people, most of them don't know how to respond to randoms fawning over them

The cosplayer that anon described didn't sound normal, in fact she sounded autistic and rude.
>>
>>9622672
I'm pretty sure 18+ anime cons do exist though? Yaoicon comes to mind.

fuck you for reminding me yaoicon exists
that's a real cringe in the cosplay/com community
>>
>>9640075

Shes been known to be a bit of a cunt to people who she cant get a ride off of. Apparently she buys a lot of her followers.
>>
>>9640082

REEEE! MUH BODY!
>>
>>9640089

Most people in the community are pretty fun and nice.
