Another notable event from the last thread:
Honey Hime announced that they've recorded a new song that's "prossimamente" (coming soon)!

Also, apparently Mimi's (Stellure) solo song is supposed to come out sometime this month. I... really hope she's been practicing.

It seems like net idol activity has slowed down since summer's ending and school's starting, but at least Halloween's coming up pretty soon! Anyone learning/performing any songs for the occasion?

My group's planning on doing a really simple dance in fun costumes! (Although I would love to do Garuru's song from Pripara...)
>>
>>9630394

it's not a Halloween song, but my group's learning Moon Pride for a cosplay masquerade and making Sailor Scout cosplays. I'm pretty excited since it will be our first dance as a full 5-member group, something I've been looking forward to for a long time. How's everyone's groups doing?

Anyone got any general tips or tricks for people going solo?
I've been in some groups but in all honesty they were incompetent as fuck and I never really learned anything about the filming aspect of it. So if anyone has advice for when you actually go out on location to film to get me started I'd be super thankful.
>>
>>9631325
if you're going outside in public to film i'd definitely suggest bringing someone to come with just to watch your camera and be support. People usually look for a moment, maybe snap a picture, and keep walking but sometimes it attracts the wrong folk.

Since it'd be just you, be mindful of how big your background is. It's very easy to drown yourself out in a video because of too much going on in the background or the camera not being close or far enough. I suggest looking at some solo covers by dancers like Manako, Penta and Kozue to get a sense of how close the camera should be to you.

A few months ago a group called Velvet Kitsune was holding a fundraiser so they could have a live debut, but the only content they had at that point was a couple of bland instrumentals. The group leader just released this solo song with vocals completely devoid of emotion and autotune on par with the Flusay Girls.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTb7QynkqO0

Any group that begs for money before debuting is guaranteed to be awful and/or completely fall apart within months of forming.
>>
>>9630394
Happy Halloween is one of my all-time favorite dances, it's so much fun
>>
>>9631564
I said I wanted cringe but this.. Is too much cringe. Knowing a dance and watching others do it so poorly makes it even worse.

It's not just the sync that's bad, they don't even know the proper timing. I also have absolutely no idea why only one is wearing pants, or what character they're supposed to be? Looks like a last minute Hanayo wig but she is not supposed to be on that side.
>>
>>9631698
He is a guy like one of the members on Sigma who also was the Hanayo of their team.

>>9631643
Do people forget that they need to be able to sing in order to become an idol
>>
>>9632059
This is the main problem I always have with net idol groups; I find that all of them have almost no vocal range or power behind their voice.
>>
Anyone have seen Sugar Stars first dance cover ? It's a mess.
>>
>>9632166
I have. One thing I hate being able to do is telling who practiced and is confident, who isn't, and how you can rank them. Overall it's kinda messy but at least the pink one knew the dance. Yellow was eh. Purple just shouldn't.
>>
>>9632249
Same anon. Blue not pink. And I think the purple is Pink??? I don't know either way one was better one was okay one was shit.
>>
>>9632249
There isnt a purple?

also I felt like they definitely did know the dance and clearly the words as they were lip syncing the words

super animated during the non dancey parts

my only issues were with the editing/filming but I think for a debut its not as awful as being made out to be
>>
>>9631564
they're no where near the best but i wouldn't go as far to say they're the worst. You can tell they practiced they need...lots more practice.

>>9632059
not exactly per se, but usually the idol that can't sing makes up for it with personality and looks or even dancing. The problem with net idol groups is that they accept these bad singers and then give everyone equal lines or lines they clearly can't sing instead of focusing on the things that person is good at. Though of course in most cases recently with net-idols the person isn't good at anything, which makes me wonder why they even bothered if they weren't going to try and get better.
>>
>>9632380
Net idol groups accept ANYONE. The standards are so low they may as well not even exist. It makes me so mad.
>>
>>9632395
What's even sadder is most cosplay cover groups or groups that go and perform at cons do this too. I wanted to see what applying for a local group was like since they said they were scouting for new members and I literally just messaged them, told them my love live "best girl" and they said they'd be more than happy if I joined. Didn't even ask once for a link to social media, dance/singing cover, nothing. I guess if the group sucks already before they hold auditions, it's hard to have high standards for anybody who might join.
>>
>>9632410
Wow. That's a bad audition if there ever was one. That's not even an audition honestly. I for once just want to see a well planned group with talented people.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBGv5lhij4s

Not for Halloween but this is by far one of the most beautiful backgrounds to an odottemita video I have ever seen. The fact that they were able to film right as a fireworks display was happening and probably could only do one take truly shows dedication. The only thing I'm not surprised about it that it's a Miko video as her Hand in Hand video in Salar de Uyuni is just as beautiful.
>>
It's a lot harder to get people in a dance cover group who are good at anything if you're starting from scratch. I mean, you can tell people you're recruiting and regardless if you have an audition vs application or a deadline or however much you advertise, if you're starting from scratch, its hard to get people to join.

I think more of the groups that are successful are the ones made up of mutual friends that don't post shit until they've done a performance or pv and then if people drop out and they have more auditions, people flock to the scene because they were actually good enough to gain a following and set a standard in the first place.

I mean, of the actual good cover groups you've seen, how many of them can you find audition posts for from the beginning? And that would exclude from any groups that previously had a following, disbanded, and made a new one.
>>
>>9632720
This kind of gives me hope for Citresse, since they started off with an intro as opposed to a "scouting" post.

>>
>>9632814
Nein, sorry, I think you've got the wrong person.
>>
>>9632691
I could be wrong, but I think the fireworks and the girls were recorded separately and then edited together? If you watch in 1080p quality and look closely at Ruru (in the floral pink yukata), it looks like some fireworks are showing through her hair. Still an impressive and beautiful video regardless!

>>9632735
They seem like nice kids. It's refreshing to see groups of friends who want to have fun doing dances together, rather than just a bunch of replaceable/disposable strangers who meet up to dance sometimes. But I'm still waiting for them to release a cover already lol
>>
>>9632882
Yeah, I think they're almost worse than Stellure with the whole "video coming out soon!" thing. Citra does have a dance up on her personal account, though.
>>
>>9632882
No, you're definitely right about Miko's video. Aside from the fireworks showing through Ruru's hair, you can also just barely make out the areas that they were cut out on. I say cut out because they don't seem like they're overplayed considering that you can see through the hair as if there's a hole, they aren't transparent to any extent (which would happen if there's an overlay), and if you you look closely at the ground they're dancing on, the edge looks smooth and as if it was placed on top. I think they did one of two things: recorded the fire works and then the dance in the same area not long after another for lighting or recorded the dance at night in a different area and then layered their video over the fireworks footage.

I do wonder how they did it though. Individually cutting out every frame would take a really long time. Praise for the editing skills.
>>
>>9632989
honestly i think the fireworks were edited in, even after the fireworks end they sky looks very animated with all of the stars. It'd be super difficult though, so either way props to the editor for that one. It wouldn't be the first time her videos had that type of effect either.
>>
I went exploring around the USA50 page after getting some notifications from them and they had a meetup at AX aparrantly? https://allyvk.bandcamp.com/track/but-me-not-you
How do people make this shit and think not only is this good enough to post online, it's good enough to sell for $1.29? The singing is lifeless. The instrumental and lyrics are mind-numbing. The cover art looks like it took 2 minutes to make in MS paint.

>>9632989
The way I see it, I think that there were three separate recordings: the scenery itself, the scenery with fireworks, and the girls dancing in front of the scenery. The scenery by itself could be keyed out of the footage with the girls, so then the background behind them is transparent and they can be placed over the fireworks footage. I wish I knew for sure!

Sigh. Ekho Idols has definitely improved since their debut, but still not enough to even be considered good. It's a shame that they still look like this after months of practicing as a group. Hopefully they will continue to work on their sync and improve.

>>
What should one include in applications? Is it rude to ask for measurements? Would it be okay to ask for a picture?
>>
>>9636140
I think asking for measurments is too extreme but it doesnt hurt to ask for a profile and full body picture. You can at least weave out potential lazy/fatties/uggos by asking for pictures.
>>
>>9636140

Asking for a picture is fine but you should probably let them know that it'll be part of what they're being judged on. Asking for measurements in the audition form is tricky because it'll either come off as making sure they're thin enough (which, if that's a criteria for you, would be why you require a picture), or for outfit purposes (which should come after they've been accepted). You should also ask for dancing and, if applicable, singing clips, and include something about the expectations for the group (in terms of practice time, monetary costs, etc) and have them check a thing that says "I agree" so they don't act surprised later on when they're expected to pull their weight.

I dont mind that. It shows they got a larger range of dance skills which most jidols dont have. Even more innocent/energetic groups cover mature songs as practrice

But my advice they want to do it. Then get the japanese ver. if they want to do it right. Same with groups doing songs that have a Japanese version of the original is they should see if they got it first.

Read through their auditions and noticed this. Whats the point of adding new members when they can't even predict the groups future in a year? Are they really going to waist new members time for something that wont last?

I really hope they know what they're in for. They were struggling to even manage 6 members. Even their Supernova subunit didn't do so hot with only 2 members... With more members, they're really, REALLY going to need to learn to give themselves reasonable deadlines.

Hope they'll be scouting for more composers too. Moonlight's style is getting a bit repetitive.

>>9637180
Oh. So they're unsure if the current members will be able to stay in Stellure when they start going to college, so the new recruits are potentially their replacements? Or are they just not sure if the group will dissolve entirely?

Mimi's song should be released within the next week or so. Haven't really seen any updates about it aside from a few progress pictures of the costume.

>>
>>9637193

>Hope they'll be scouting for more composers too. Moonlight's style is getting a bit repetitive.

This. In Idolm@ster they have a number of composers who deal with certain songs - even going as far as to have different composers, lyricists and arrangers just for one song and it can become rather obvious which composer does what songs if you listen to them enough.
>>
>>9637674
>>9637193
Honestly I wouldn’t hold my breath to it. Yeah her style is repetitive, dull, and boring but seems like she’s doing it for free seeing I doubt Stellure is making a lot of money. I also think they’d be lucky if someone even mildly better came and said they’d do their music. I honestly wouldn’t want my music (if I had any that is) associated with them without major improvements.

the song's catchy and the choreography not too boring. the girl with the straight twintails kinda reminds me of manako back when she had long hair but her dancing looks reserved until her solo. if she had that energy through the whole video it would've been better. the girl with the bob has a nice voice and the instagram effect was cool.

Going to be hard doing that in a music industry which doesnt offer much fandom interaction and have pretty much invested their energy bashing Japan's idol culture and its fans as well with all the horror stories online.

It will be nice to see wotas doing fan chants in places that dont have it but idol culture from Japan has been fighting a steep battle.

According to the big facebook thread where all her former members came forward:

She'd charge members for costumes and then show up with unfinished, wrinkly wrecks. The subleaders did most of the work (pr, teach dances, graphics) and she'd just brag about how great she was and how terrible other groups were. Once she drove the subleaders off, she started bashing them too. I've also heard she would have her friends show up to events to bash other groups or something?

I decided to follow them to see where they go. Hari is a pretty good dancer. She’s energetic, never really looks lost, shows emotion. This dance is honestly hell to do and she didn’t show any signs of being tired (to me at least). And it’s a good set too. Not distracting and it’s not unsightly.

She can barely move and roll her hips but I can also tell she didn't look at herself before recording. She needs to dance infornt of a mirror so she can work on moving her hips, finding her angles, and making sure she keeps the same amount of energy through the whole dance.

Anyone remember BerriTeam Victory, that group that was in here a lot a few threads back? They were a hot topic because they accrued several thousand likes on their Facebook page in an incredibly short amount of time, but not on other forms of social media, and their fan interaction was minimal, meaning they *probably* paid for those likes. I feel like some of Mimi's aspirations for the group are a little impure - it feels like she just wants to do this for own personal gain, and she gets upset when she isn't the ~center~ even though she's clearly the least talented singer and dancer. I actually like the other girls (Stella was best desu but Tauri and Luna are very cute) and if they ever broke away from Mimi, I would support them full force.
>>
>>9640807
Glad someone else agrees with me! When Stella left, my first thought was that Mimi fought with her/kicked her out for stealing "her" spotlight.
>>
>>9640807
Can confirm Stellure is just a way for Mimi to get popular. She really is selfish and ive seen her shit talk her members and they don't know it. She really doesn't care about idols or the group. Its all personal gain for her.

Honestly if her parents let her paint on the wall like this then she must be really fucking spoiled.
>>
>>9640971
Seriously, though, how rich is she? She seems like she has access to a ton of money.
>>
>>9640971
To be fair, were I a parent, I'd let the kid paint their own walls too. It's their room. Either it turns out good and it's something they're proud of, or it turns out cringy and a few years later they get super embarrassed whenever they see it on the wall. It just seems like one of those things that's not worth battling with a teen looking for ways to express themselves, provided they were otherwise well-behaved.
>>
>>9640989
Tell yourself that while reapinting your walls to sell your house. Theres a reason why papers, cavases, and other mediums exist.
>>
>>9640995

Eh. If you're fixing up the walls to resell the house, you'd likely want to repaint them anyway or at least touch up areas that are bad (although paint touchups are always kinda obvious cuz they'll have a different sheen). Also repainting walls isn't super expensive if you know how to do it yourself, and clearly Mimi's parents aren't hurting for the money anyway so repainting over that is probably a minuscule cost.
>>
>>9640989
>>9640995
>>9641017
Considering more than likely she is using acrylics, it isn't as easy as just painting over a wall and calling it a day. Acrylics can ruin the walls and is a pain in the ass to get off. Using a tooth bursh or cloth with rubbing alcohol to scrape it off but takes a long ass time to come off clean. If you want your kid to be expressive with art, give them canvases and nice tools. It will cost less, you won't regret anything, and they can still look back and cringe at their art.
>>
>>9641024
Exactly? I don't know why this is even turned into a conversation. Imagine how awful the texture would look once it's painted over. It's no where near a simple fix, and it would have been much smarter/easier to buy a large canvas and hang it up instead.

Sure painting walls is fun, but unless she plans on living there till she dies it's not a smart decision.

Sage for not related to idols at all.

in the background of the picture of her shoes I can see their first costumes - why dont the girls they were made for keep them? Did the other girls even put a cent towards it?
>>
>>9642140
I thought it was just Mimi’s but it seems like all of them. I can think of one or two answers to the questions. They probably kept them there as “housing” for them instead of just having to have them in their closet. Since it seems like they go to Mimi’s to meet up (it was said they live in different areas I think?), it may just be easier to keep them there for storage purposes. Or all of them just accidentally left them behind. As for the second question, who knows? Maybe, maybe not. I doubt Mimi put too much into it herself but unless one of them comes around the two possibilities are these: before hand Mimi said she’d care of costumes 100% or if they offered she either declined or said yes.
>>
>>9641925
I'm impressed at the costume design and creation, but how many hours do you guys think are going towards sewing instead of vocal and dance practice? I feel like Shining Stars came out much better because the girls didn't have to worry about outfits, so they were able to devote a few months to practicing their singing and dancing. Mimi needs either an assistant for the costumes or to space the song releases out a lot more because I don't have any hope in this solo release going well.
>>
>>9642236
This is actually a really interesting point. Whenever Stellure posts stuff about practice, it's rarely Mimi doing the practicing. She always seems busy updating people on how the costumes are coming along.
>>
>>9642236
Imagine if rather than investing so much money and time into costume design and materials, they could actually afford a better composer, and improve their camera and audio quality. But if Mimi did that, less attention would be aimed towards her and her drawing/sewing skills, and she wants all the fame she can get
>>
>>9642236
Honestly I just wish they would stick closer to the LL formula if they're going to follow it at all. Love Live releases at least two songs per CD with new cover art (so outfits). Stellure would improve so much if they just did two or three songs per outfit instead of one per.
Also, Shining Stars really came out great in comparison to Lets Go Baby. I also wish they would make MV and DVs so they would be able to produce more content while also having more time to practice (official outfit progress while releasing a practive DV, then an official DV, and finally MV).
>>
>>9642421
I understand what you’re getting at but there’s a lot that goes into this. First, most title songs have costumes that allow the person to say “oh this era/time/song/etc.” Sure, indie idol groups do have one outfit but that’s usually because of theme or funds. They also very rarely, if ever, release their original songs. Specifically with Love Live though, your thought is comparing different singles to one single that contains an a-side and 1-2 b-sides. Not only that, but generally units have their own outfits. It’s meant to distinguish a permanent unit from a short term one, so it makes sense that Nebula and SuperNova have different costumes. And that kinda goes back to the more than one costume. Even if units don’t have costumes on their covers, there’s still costumes associated with it (like Cutie Panther). Having one costume every few songs doesn’t mean they will practice together more. It honestly seems like they only gather for 2-3 days before recording to practice the dance together. Even their audition said “be able to travel to central jersey at least once a month”. That doesn’t necessarily sound like a group that meets often.

TL;DR: Less outfits for singles =/= better quality. It just means less outfits.
>>
>>9642639
Whoops, sorry if it sounded confusing. I didn't mean that subunits shouldn't have their own outfits- they should! It's just that if they have time to use on making outfits, it would be better for them to use the time that it would take to make a new design and outfit to practice for their new song instead. I personally like different outfits for different songs, but not all songs need one if that makes sense.
>>
>>9642694
As long as it's not the exact same outfits for all of their videos, à la Minty Pop, I'm usually good.
>>
>>9642891
I kinda like that! Minty Pop have only put out a few covers and had a few performances so far, so I expect they'll get a few new "idol" outfits and use casual clothes in some videos. But I'd prefer to see groups using a few well-made, easily identifiable team outfits rather than switching it out with new outfits for every video - the quality tends to go down if you're constantly making new outfits and it's a waste of material.
>>

>generally units have their own outfits... it makes sense that Nebula and SuperNova have different costumes.
I think the problem is that Stellure introduced subunits way too early, when they had just barely established themselves with their debut (which didn't even feature the whole group as Tauri was absent for whatever reason).

They should have continued to do songs as a whole group before introducing subunits. They could have used the same costumes for a few songs before making new ones (if only the Bright Future costumes were better made...). I'm sure most people wouldn't even mind some cute casual outfits for MVs if the song's good and the video's entertaining.

>It honestly seems like they only gather for 2-3 days before recording to practice the dance together.
Pretty much. Supernova only practiced for a weekend before recording Let's Go, Baby, and then Nebula made a huge deal out of practicing for like a week or so before recording.

I really can't see Stellure working out with 9 members unless the new recruits are going to help out with sewing costumes, writing songs, etc. but even then...

This is a thousand times better than the average, it was a very nice watch and she has a lot of energy in a way that's not just flopping around! Very nice

That being said, I agree with the anon who said she needs to practice in front of a mirror. It does look like she didn't.

I do agree with the casual outfits and the same costume for some songs, but since they’re going off the Love Live structure, that feels really unlikely. The Tauri bit did kind of bother me too though.

>>
>>9644534
Really the only problem with it is that they're trying to be professional. Its not a bad show if you use the context of a few girls "trying their best" because they do sound very very amateur. But since they're trying to become a Big Thing and go pro it's rather embarrassing.
>>
Did anyone go to Starlight Idol Festival? Cringiest had to be Glass Heart
>>
>>9644534
Vendetta? Lol give me a break. Like >>9644553 said, if it were a group that was doing it under a “friends just for fun!” ideal, I wouldn’t mind it much. But for a group that supposedly is meant to be professional and was meant to get vocal (and dance) training, this is honestly really shitty. It could - and realistically should - be better. I’ve heard groups that do songs just for fun that sound a bit better and in tune with each other. Even their first show was better than this.
>>
>>9644603
maybe it's because the ones who could sing were the ones that left? I watch that and the only problem for me is that the girl in purple has no stability in her voice at all yet was placed centre stage. worst kind of decision. For a group that's supposed to be getting support and funding I agree that it's not the best.

>>9644534
>>9644553
Even if they're trying to go pro, everyone has to start from somewhere and work their way up. It's unrealistic to expect someone to be amazing from the get-go. Professionals become professionals after honing their skills, which obviously takes a lot of hard work, time, and dedication, so who knows if they have that, but I don't think it's an awful first attempt at performing on stage in front of an audience. You need to experience failure and setbacks to get anywhere.
>>

This isn’t their first performance, it’s their second. Their first was better.
>>
>>9644658

You know, normally I really like that they put effort into the vocal cover as well as the dance, but it really fell short here. They do alright in the singing parts, but the spoken bits are a little painful to hear.
>>
>>9644658
Wow. Literally the only compliment I can say is they handled the held notes well. But god the singing, dancing, and expressions are so good of emotion...
>>
>>9644671
Their second performance? Give them a break. You can't expect someone to grow too much between their first performance and their second. I haven't seen their first one, but maybe the song this time was more challenging than the first, or maybe they were nervous because of how large the crowd was, who knows. If they haven't gotten any better between their first and tenth performance, then that's an issue, but otherwise, it's not.

Idols aren't about being a finished product, it's about the journey there going from a messy, amateur performance to a clean and professional one.
>>
>>9644696
It’s an issue because their first performance was quite better than this. Even with them all knowing voice types, Miley shouldn’t have been the one to sing the intro knowing her voice. The song honestly isn’t that challenging. The issue is that it’s not planned like it shouldn’t and reflects badly. I don’t know about you, but to go from a good performance (with this same girl doing decently) to THIS is an issue.
>>
https://youtu.be/18M9Hwh_XXQ

I still see nothing wrong with Hari’s dancing, but I wish the other two would step it up. Compared to her, it honestly looks like they aren’t practicing or not asking for help or she’s just not giving it. You can even see the girl looking to try and keep up.
>>
>>9645063

Reading the description I can see where the issue is going to crop up and their future dances are going to have issues.

I can imagine this is a dance Hari knew already and roped in the other last minute - she's probably had a week at best if they plan to upload EVERY Saturday.
While I can manage to whip up an im@s dance in a few days because of their shortened length, I wouldn't put the pressure on myself to have it filmed within a week.
>>
>>9644713
Yeah I agree, I know idols or even just general performances is about developing but out of both performances the only one who hasn't developed or changed in an improving way is the purple one. It sounds like she's putting on a fake idol voice and it just comes across as weeby and untalented. And it can't be good for her throats either. Also looking at the other members and how long minty pop has been a thing. The weeby girls voice stands out (in a not so positive way) in comparison to the others as it's so marginally different. Unless they work on her I don't think performances will get any better imo
>>
>>9644669
if you look at the screen on the side of her she's clearly doing the dance that they're doing. Was it a wise choice to perform on stage alone? ehh..
>>
>>9645063
I really think attempting to upload every weekend is going to be their downfall. It's obviously a struggle to stay relevant in the idol scene when you can't produce content constantly but I would much prefer 1 solid, well practiced, nicely filmed dance cover a month than 4 really shitty quality covers every week.

If they had more than 3 members I could see weekly uploads being feasible since you could let each member do a solo cover and take care of their own filming and uploading and what not but when it's the same 3 people that are responsible for all of that, it gets difficult.
>>
>>9644669

Those costume progress pictures I posted were from a net idol fanpage's post from September 3rd and I haven't seen any progress pictures since. The costume might not even be done yet while the song was announced to release last month.

You think they'd learn by now to give themselves better deadlines and/or not prematurely announce release dates but they never do.
>>
>>9646693
Honestly, I agree. This was a SOLO no less, so there shouldn’t have even been an issue of members getting together or having to make more than one costume or having everyone to record. No need to wait for everyone else to learn. She’s just not doing well which says a lot.

I felt bad for her boyfriend being dragged up on stage for some love ballad song toward the end. The song before that was another song about meeting her boyfriend at the con. Doesn't showing off her boyfriend like that really ruin the idol image she is suppose to have? I know its western idols were talking about but I know alot of girls who at least keep their relationships on the down low, even cosplayers do this.
>>
>>9647407
I think it's more relaxed for the hobbyist idols in the western scene, since boyfriends are usually the ones helping with behind the scenes stuff like camera work. I think it's socially acceptable for Western idols to publicly have partners as long as there's not a lot of PDA. But it's also fine to keep your relationship private, because a lot of performers prefer to have a divide between their public and private life.
>>
>>9647430
Not that anon but her first two songs were just staring, winking, and flirting hardcore on stage toward her boyfriend. She was holding his hand and hugging him the entire time during the last song. I think its unprofessional to be doing that much PDA on stage during an idol performance.

I don't mind idols who aren't amazing, pitch-perfect singers (one of my favorite idols is so bad at singing, she says she's tone deaf) but Hayley was straining her voice throughout her entire performance. She should have chosen some less intense songs. Plus, the people she brought onstage to sing with her seem as though they had never even heard the song before. Why did they go up there to just stand around, looking lost and mumbling the lyrics?

As for Milky Kitty, she seemed alright from what I could see. It's hard enough to enjoy a dance cover when the dancer is a blur 40 feet away from the camera, but the wota flailing in front of her certainly aren't helping. I hope closer, clearer footage of the performances will be uploaded sometime soon.

Finally! A well-thought-out online idol festival run by an established group. I think I might join in on this Idol Spooktacular!
>>
>>9649017
There are very few groups that I love equal to or more than Wa-suta. Their music is so fun and makes so little sense but so much at the same time. I wish this was another single so that I could get an off vocal and sing it.

>>9649215
Wow. “Yes, instead of updating everyone ahead of time, let’s let the date pass and announce a new group song that’s hopefully been worked on since Mimi stopped updating.
>>
>>9649215
No one is surprised but if Mimi can pull her solo together by Halloween at least her costume will match and I can accept that. Luna's color scheme is kind of unfortunate or at least finding a yellow gold for the top looks like a pain. Good thing Stella left of they wouldn't be able to have done the cards theme. I don't keep up with their songs but 5 members looks pretty cohesive, too bad they're hoping for 4 more girls when they can't meet a release date for a solo.
>>
>>9649215
Maybe Mimi saw the criticism of her always having to be the center of attention >>9640807 >>9640913 >>9642413 so she decided to postpone her solo and let Luna have the spotlight for now. Or maybe she hasn't had enough practice to record Wish's Promise yet. Both are plausible.

At least this time they didn't announce an absurdly short release date. That's mildly promising.
>>
>>9649215
I'm still not surprised that Mimi's pushing her solo back, but I'd rather have them push back songs as much as needed than release another Bright Future. They're already trying to do way more than most idol groups, so they wouldn't lose any fans by slowing down.
>>
>>9649340
I wonder if they’ll release them as one single similar to how Hello Project does/did graduation singles: Mimi’s solo will be the B-side but will get a MV.
>>
>>9649215
Luna seems like an odd choice for a song like this, since her character seems fairly innocent and pure. But I'm not complaining, since I've liked her a lot more after Shining Stars. It'll be interesting.
>>
>>9649215
I wonder if/how the quality of their releases would change if Mimi was nothing more than a costume designer & maker and the other girls took control of lyrics, recording, and such. When it came to Shining Stars, the girls seemed much more practiced.
>>
>>9649215
i wish they could come up with original ideas for outfits, they all are just love live ripoffs.
>>
>>9650123
Please show me where this is a love live rip off.
>>
>>9650123
To be fair, Love Live has done just about every theme of idol costume possible, since there are so many card sets. It's difficult to think of any idol costume that doesn't have any design elements in common with at least one set. The closest would be either Korekara no Someday or the magician set, since they have a playing card motif. But the rest of the outfits aren't close enough to call it a rip off.
>>
>>9650158
I do think some of their design were rip off but that one aint rly imo
>>
>>9650158
Here it is anon
>>
>>9650349
And the other card. They're event cards and look really similar to Stellure's design.
>>
>>9650349
>>9650351
>It uses cards as theme
>rip off
It's not like Stellure design is something original, it's just random basic maid outfit with card symbols, but it's nowhere near what you posted.
>>
>>9650351
Personally I don't think they look similar?
They could have gotten the idea from the cards, but the designs are nothing alike.
>>
>>9650333
I agree that some were pretty similar but this one no.

>>9650349
>>9650351
You’re not serious are you? The MOST they have in common is a card motif like >>9650360 said. I think you should review the definition of a rip off, anon.

Luna's costume seems to take elements from Muse's idolized Cafe Maid and Magician sets, but that's about it. Definitely inspired, but not a total rip-off. I still wish they could discover some new inspirations though.

>>9650522
Luna's two-tone chocomint wig isn't looking too good with this costume set's color scheme, but I'm still happy she's going to be the center of a song.
>>
Am I the only one who finds the purple and blue girls from stellure really bland? Mimi is engraved
in my memory because of cousin fuckers, Luna is that somewhat sweet girl with terrible wig, and Tauri somewhat stands out, maybe it's because she is portrayed as the more confident. But for these two I can't even remember their names.
>>
>>9650554
Astra and Callistro? I think they're called? I believe they are the two best singers in the group, but you're right that it's hard to remember them. Despite having good voices, they don't really have the pizzaz in their dancing to make them stand out.
>>
>>9650554
>>9650564
The personalities of their characters aren't really designed to stand out either. Afaik, Astra is supposed to be a quiet and demure "I'll do my best..." character. Callisto doesn't have a particularly headstrong or demure character, so I'm not sure how she's supposed to be represented. I wouldn't be opposed to Stellure putting out more character content for the personalities they were supposed to be representing, instead of just the Fun Facts or whatever.
>>
>>9650360
if "cards" theme has to be red, black and white then you're not very creative. you could make the theme "gambling" and have vegas inspired outfits for example and thats a very wide category
>>
>>9650809
Not the anon you’re replying to but while I get your point, a large majority of playing cards ARE those colors. It’s the association, just like if you do Vegas themed outfits and playing chips people will think Vegas and/or gambling. It's not as wide as you think.
>>
Any cringe going on elsewhere? I get that Stellure are the absolute goldmine of cringe for us at the moment but I want to have some other things make my toes curl.
>>
>>9650809
I didn't say it was creative, I even said it's not original. Using typical colors for a theme is basic, and they didn't do anything with it, but my post was about how they didn't rip LL off. They just used the same typical color palette.
>>
>>9650842
Nijimaru Idols and Novastars Idols (currently have a goldmine of cringe on Wattpad) are the two I can think of off the top of my head. Of course, there are also Callisto's dance covers on her personal account. (Her Mermaid Festa is...something.)
>>
>>9650842
I'm surprisingly having trouble finding true cringe right now. I think since school started back up, they're having trouble finding time to practice and record bad dance covers.

I did find this, but as horrific as it is they're clearly like twelve so I think they get a pass - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CAtKC9VN2Q

These also came out within the last week and they're not perfect, but I wouldn't call them cringe.

Unrelated but after watching this, I went to find at least one pic of each girl in natural colored wigs or no wig at all. It honestly makes me wish they didn’t wear the ones they have.

>>9650981
Longest running Instagram OC idol group maybe but they are sorely mistaken if they genuinely think they're the longest running of ALL net idol groups
>>
Progress on the outfits from Mimi's Instagram. These seen much simpler to make than any of their previous outfits, so maybe there will be time to practice and make a good song out of it. Hopefully they're all going to improve.
>>
>>9651766
Maybe. Don’t forget that while 4 are simple, Luna’s is kind of complicated. I just hope they are practicing on their own as well as in a group.

>hint hint for you stellure girls that lurk or their fans
>>
>>9651396
>>9651767
The thought of stellure actually having a small group of fans always reporting what we post is kind of hilarious.
>>
>>9651939
While the possibility of it is funny, I think it's more that they lurk themselves, or even better, some gulls want to make drama so they report to them.
>>
>>9651949
Not very much drama is made if all they do is cry and delete their posts. It’s more like entertainment.
>>
Is it just me or does someone seem to be watching 4chan...
>>
>>9652100
Oh but forgot to say that it honestly looked better without the bow.
>>
>>9652100
Oh great.
>Purple that doesn't match
>Blue that doesn't match
>Pink that doesn't match
>Another purple that doesn't fucking match
What an improvement.
>>
>>9652105
I don't think it'll look too bad as long as it's a small touch. The Bokura Wa Ima costumes are also black, red, and white with an image color decoration and it still looks pretty cohesive.
>>
>>9652120
Honestly, and I’m having trouble extactly trying to word why, the Boku wa works better. Just singing Stellure’s make it seem very out of place. Maybe it’s the complexity of Boku or maybe it’s the design of Stellure, but the purple bow on Stellure’s looks weirdly out of place especially because it’s so plain compared to their original red & black design.
>>
>>9652128
That could definitely be it. When there's a lot of detail going on, small changes in color and such stick out a lot less. But I'm a bit biased because I am a huge sucker for outfits and items made in members' image colors. I want to see this work though - both the outfits and the song.

On that note, I'm getting a bit of a soft spot for Stellure because it's rare to see a group continue to put out content in the face of such heavy criticism and notoriety that they received after Bright Future. Like I know it's just words on the internet but I'm a wimp and probably would have given up, lol. They've also improved significantly with each release which means they're actually paying close attention to what people are saying about them and are using it to learn. They still have a long way to go to become "good", but keeping in mind that none of them are even 18, they've earned my respect for what they've accomplished. I hope the next releases are even better so I don't end up eating my words lol.
>>
>>9652128
I think Mimi could be right that matching wig hair color with bow could make the wigs stand out less and you can sort of see it in the Bokura pic. Another reason could just be that Muse has a rainbow lineup going on and Stellure's colors aren't as cohesive in real life in my opinion. The light blue, light purple and dark purple look good together but the brown mint and light pink are completely different.
>>
https://youtu.be/UjakXHfjdYs

I know this is kpop but wow. Her dancing sucks, she’s not in the right key, and it’s just not cute. First time seeing someone that’s apart of an “agency” too.

I skimmed through all their videos. It seems like they're all at that skill level.
>>
>>9652526

It just sounds like baby talk.
>>
>>9652526
I would hate this 100% less without the annoying echo effect.
If I'm being honest, I don't hate it as much as Stellure though. Even if she doesn't sound great she knows how to project her voice (sort of) which makes it leaps and bound more tolerable.

I have. I like their stuff. Not half assed and the lyrics flow nicely too. Wanted to join their contest but it was close to the deadline so I didn’t even bother.
>>
>>9652698
I'm really iffy on them, they have some good singers but there are a few that make me cringe super hard. (Their Yoshiko...) I do love their Yume no Tobira cover, though, it's beautiful.
>>
There's a newish vocal cover group on Instagram, Idoldere, that recently posted their voice samples, and they all for the most part sound good. I honestly think they have potential.
>>
>>9652147
> soft spot for stellure
Same. Such a big part of old idol culture was seeing someone turn from average to a true idol, and Stellure is kind of capturing that feeling to me. As cringe as they are, every song is an improvement and I'm hoping that they one day become even semi-decent, just so we can look back and think on how far they've come.
>>
Looks like 馬跳びの会 Copy unit have moved on to sub-unit dance covers and as always I really enjoyed watching them. Kind of makes me wish they would do u's covers too.

>>
>>9649215
They all look like their faces have melted. Really odd shaped.
>>
>>9649215
Wait what the hell, I checked out their videos since I thought it looked cool but this is really bad??? None of them can sing, they're using bad microphones, the video quality sucks, the dances are bad and they're not really in sync, the editing is horrendous, none of them seem to know how to act in front of the camera and it just seems awkward, in the Bright Future video some of the girls get cut off by the poor camera work when they stand at the edges, half of the videos' lenght are bloopers/credits, they're clearly supposed to have certain personalities and characteristics but they don't show at all during the dance, only in the art and the end photos, the wigs are tacky and SADLY THE OBVIOUSLY HOME MADE, AVERAGE COSPLAY QUALITY OUTFITS ARE THE BEST PART IN THIS GROUP AND THEIR VIDEOS.

Do they actually have fans who genuinely like this? They have LOTS of room for improvement and I hope they try and train more in the future. I can see a bit of improvement between the oldest and the newest videos, so hopefully they'll keep on making progress.
>>
>>9653420

New thread >>9657027

Never really used this app before, but reading the Stellure thread was very interesting to me. Stellure’s leader, Mimi, has unrealistic expectations of the group and is constantly missing deadlines. Her views are idealistic, and while that can be a great thing one day reality is going to smack her on the head and she isn’t going to know what hit her. That being said( she has, from what I can tell, lived a relatively sheltered life.
I thinking she and the other members of Stellure are flawed in different ways, but it’s admirable how they keep trying even when faced with criticism. I think you guys need to give them a bit more credit. The majority of the members are inexperienced with choreography, sewing, and music in general but their performances have improved.
Not perfect, but you can see improvement. I’m excited to see what they’re going to do next.
(ALSO Stella left Stellure of her own accord and then posted anonymously on this website bc she’s a baby who got upset at Mimi and then started spreading shit. There was a lot more that most people don’t know about that was Stella’s fault, but that’s not here nor there and it’s old news.)
