I think this bag could be really cute with the right theme.

>>9643274
This was the only pic I had saved to my phone that fits the theme. I think Disney bags with classic characters like these and >>9643281 >>9643282 are super cute. Anyone have more pics?
>>
Do you think it's possible to remove the beads from this bag? I think it's sewn between two layers of vinyl, so should be able to take it out if i just cut through one?

Dang, seriously? I was thinking if getting one and fill it with omanjuus..

Speaking of omanjuus, are there any bags with them only? (for inspo) I feel like this might be something a bit more common in the jpn community
>>
>>9643438
thanks! although now that i think about it, removing the silver patch will probably leave big holes in the window...
>>
How do you guys manage your budgeting? I had a solid limit for myself this month and everything I've bought is under budget except for literally one set I'm looking at, which pushes me just a few dollars over. On one hand, the character is overall expensive to shop for, and the deal I see is pretty solid. On the other hand, I already know shipping is going to hurt, and I like to stick to my budget.

>>9643827
Maybe cover it with something related to your character? You can pin a charm outside or something.
>>
>>9643281
Aw fuck, I was planning on getting this bag since I had no money for it during the preorder stages. Does anyone else know of any bags besides Wego that has the depth to put plushes in like these?

>>9643861
There's a lot of factors for me. How often does it come up for sale? Is it a grail item? Is the deal too good to be true? How much would I be able to spare from my daily necessities if I really want this? If it's a grail item, it's an automatic yes. Everything else I usually debate over, but most of the time if the deal is pretty solid an it's only a few dollars over the budget, I'd get it since I usually have a bit of extra money on the side in case of emergencies.
>>
>>9643861
i’m constantly fucking up my budget desu, but husbando merch is slow to appear and sells fast.

if it’s just a couple of bucks then personally i’d go for it. go a little easier in the next month to make up for the overage and shipping if it really weighs on you, but i usually have a buffer of free money elsewhere in my budget i subtract from instead (like eating out)
>>
>>9643861
>budget
Good joke, anon.
>>
>>9643861
I give myself a budget per-paycheck. I let myself be flexible enough to go over budget on one paycheck, but if I do, that money comes out of my next paycheck's budget no if-and-buts.
>>
>>9643861
>bugdet
>itabag
Pick one.

But in all seriousness, if it's a super rare item for a good price, just go for it and deduct the overspending from your next paycheck allowance. If it's an item that readily available and is usually on sale/doesn't spike in price, I say wait. As much as I love this hobby, it isn't worth ruining your day to day budget for.
>>
>>9643885
>>9643912
>>9643925
>>9644489
>>9644584
Thanks for all the responses (even joke ones). I thought it over and let the deal pass because it was only one item and it wasn't my holy grail. My patience pulled off and there's actually someone else selling it for cheaper (within budget) now!
>>
>>9644898
Watchlist it and keep checking daily, if someone puts it up higher buy the original, if someone puts lower buy that.

A few dollars over isn't bad, it's only troublesome if you're getting into debt
>>
>Got into a bidding war
>won despite spending more then I should have
>looks at thread to see current budget topic

Guess I failed that aspect.
>>
>>9643429

I removed the plastic beads on mine by using a seam ripper to pick apart all of the layers of the front of the bag, removed the beads, and then hand sewed it back together. I'd recommend using embroidery floss and a thimble because pushing that needle through all those layers hurts. Use a curved needle if you have one. That'll make it way easier.
>>
>>9643827
Removing the silver patch, even with a seam ripper, will leave some ugly holes in the vinyl. You can use a seam ripper to rip out the entire front layer of the vinyl and then hand-sew your bag back together. Or you could just make a character rosette to go over the patch. That would be way easier.
>>
I have a medium sized round sticker I'd love to display as part of my ita bag. How can I protect it in such a way that I can attach it? (Obviously I don't want to stick it down, just protect it as is)
>>
>>9645485
have you considered laminating the sticker?
>>
>>9645485
I think there's someone with a laser cutter in the facebook group taking commissions. I was considering asking them to put a sticker on some acrylic and cut a charm out of it but realized that I don't have any stickers to do that with.
>>
>>9645485
you can pop it in one of those covers made to protect acrylic charms if you have any

God help me, anons. Got 3 more pieces of merch on the way and I still have quite a bit to do (like hide those ugly safety pins and make his name pop at the top), but at least the daunting vest piece is done. Satin stitching the lapels was not my first choice, but it’ll have to do.

I like your bag so far!
I find 'JUSTICE' a bit hard to read. Have you thought about making a backing for it in white or blue? Like pic related with the black around the red.
>>
>>9645780
Thanks! Yeah, the lettering is barely visible. I was thinking about outlining it in white! My deadline is next week but the lettering is on the top of the list of things to fix :)
>>
>>9645758
The vest backpack is such a cute and smart idea!. Maybe you could rig up some hair antennas on the top of the backpack to go with it? Whatever you do, please post another picture when you are finished with the bag.
>>
>>9645855
That’s an awesome idea!! Thank you!! And yes, I will post pics after I finish!
>>
>>9645758
Ahh I had this same idea since I have the Toalice backpacks but I'm too chickenshit to take out the bow like you did. I'm so glad yours looks great though!
>>
>>9645662
i'd be most worried about paint transfer from one figure to another if you have multiple in there, so be careful to not let them touch if you plan on doing this. my recommendation would be to sew them into place, im not really sure of what else you could do ;_;
>>
>>9645758
looks amazing, i cant wait to see it once you're done! apollo justice was my first AA game, he has a special place in my heart so im glad to see him get such an amazing bag from someone!
>>
>>9645758
Wow, anon, that's looking great! I can see how it could be frustrating since it looks like it's a bit fiddly, but the end result is looking so nice. I look forward to seeing your completed bag once you're through!
>>
>>9645905
Yeah me too. I didnt know if I could make a box inside the bag, so that way the whole inside the bag was just for display. to top it off, the bag wouldn't smoosh and should keep the figures from knocking together. I mean as long as they were sewn in place too?
>>
>>9645758
Get some good acrylic/leather paint and turn that pink into red (or teal to match the tie but red would be easier, heck why the fuck did you buy the pink bag instead of the blue?!). Should be easy enough and it'll change it to looking a bit of a mess into perfection
>>
>>9646255
Thank you for the suggestion! I impulse bought the pink bag before I used my brain and by the time I did it already shipped, haha. But that’s a good idea, I was thinking that there was an awkward disconnect between the vest piece and the bag itself.

What do you do about your ships having really different color schemes? I want to put together a bag so I can have the creator sign it, but I mean... look at them. They have 0 colors in common.
>>
>>9646386
I'd either use something neutral like black or white, or mix two dominanty colors. Dark purple and pastel blue could go well in your case. Very good contrast.
>>
>>9646339
Thanks for speaking up, anon. It's always nice to see how things turned out. How substantial do they feel? Do you think they'll hold up or do they feel brittle and fragile?

I haven't tried this yet and want to give it a go; would you have any advice not covered in the tutorial or comments on anything tricky or unexpected? The tutorial looks detailed and straightforward so I'm hopeful that my non-crafty self can make it work.
>>
>>9646486
They feel really substantial! I'm impressed how well they turned out, stability wise.

I didn't unpeel the sticker backings from mine (because I forgot), but I don't think it made any difference. I also didn't need to paint the back of my stickers, because they were sturdy vinyl.

It was my first time using resin so I watched a couple basic tutorials on YT/lurked on the Indie Crafting thread for some tips. Stuff like letting your resin mixture sit for a few minutes first, and using a straw to blow away any bubbles that show up.

Hope they turn out well, anon!
>>
>>9646525
Oh, I had never heard of the straw tip! Thanks for sharing!

So gulls I've came across a problem that I'd say is rather "unique" with building up a bag. So I'm making one for Hachisuka Kotetsu... And noticed that many of his items have a certain symbol on it.
While he does have a lot of stuff where the symbol obstructed or in a really light color, a lot of the nicer looking stuff has it out in full force.

While I know the manji in this case isn't used for anything bad, it's just unfortunate.
It's just a combo of sad and funny for me.
>>
>>9648103
Use a removable glue dot to stick something over the symbol? Mini ribbon flowers, etc. Or just layer your stuff so those corners are hidden.

Anon with a CCS bag in progress 2 or 3 threads ago. My bag is double sided so I decided to make one "normie" side so people don't bother me with questions about my daughteru during non-convention use.

Not exactly itabag-y but still has a cohesive theme. My water life enamel pin collection.

I've had a figure on my bag for a while, sewn down to the insert so it wouldn't move about. I've removed it recently because I noticed a bit of the character's hair was getting slighlty bent+lost a smidge of color prolly from probably having bumped against something (the vinyl was scratched on the area). I had keychains dangling about near it too so I took it out after a while (no damage from that tho). It's nothing bad and noticeable in the end but I'd be extra careful if i were to do it again. If you intend to go for it, make sure to keep them apart like >>9645905 said to avoid paint transfers and make sure the window is pretty deep to avoid the issue I had. Sew the babies up nicely to the insert and they should be okay.

Pic related, I wasn't too clever with bag choice and arrangement
>>

Card wallets are always a good shout if you care about the condition of the card! Then you can deco the wallet if you wanted and you wouldn't have to worry about messing up the card if you made a mistake.

This is a cute base that I don't think I've seen before and comes in a lot of colours! Is BlueRobotto the production company or a reseller? I can't seem to find this bag on their website.
>>
>>9651164
as far as I know they're just someone from Guatemala making cute accessories. And their parents help too. They have more things on their Etsy too
>>
For you guys wanting to protect your cards put them in a clear sleeve, then put them in one of these. I can take a photo of mine if you want but it basically makes them solid, non bendable and gives full protection. I use them for playing TCG at tourneys

Don't do this

They make rigid card sleeves, two types are mentioned in the FAQ: toploaders and card savers. You can glue pinbacks to em, and the cardsavers have a little lip at the top which you could easily punch a hole through to hang them with. This is a pretty common question, which is why we put them in the faq!

heres one! they're made for straps technically, but check measurements (theres dif sizes) and then just hang them "upside down" so the loops at the top - ive seen it done in other bags and it works really well!
>>
>>9651560
I personally use 4-screw screwdowns and leave a screw out, then string them along a cord. You can also glue a pinback to a one-touch magnet holder. Both screwdowns and one-touches are much thicker than a toploader.
>>
I found this pin and now I am super tempted to make a Pennywise bag. But man the consequences.

Hi! So I cut out the old ribbon (anywhere is fine) and then I measured out the new ribbon against the old, giving about 2.5 extra inches to be safe. At first I tried to just thread it through, but it’s extremely hard to borderline impossible. So I had to make a small cut inside of the bag in order to reach the holes from the other side. Then I was easily able to lace my new ribbon through and tie both ends together. Pic related is the inside of my bag now. I have to be careful to not drop small items into the slits, otherwise they could be easily lost.
>>
>>9651690
If you wanted you could easily glue/hand stitch the slits closed, but I am lazy, especially since the inside of my bag won’t be seen. If no one sees it, I don’t care, haha.

On the topic of bag customization, how do you anons plan on jazzing out your bags? Please let me live vicariously through you, for I am now broke and have no idea what else to do with my bag until my extra merch arrives. I have another bag, but it was babby’s first and the most customizing I did was add studs and rhinestones to the bag/bow.
>>
>>9651048
I'm happy to hear you do, thank you! I just mostly wish there weren't a few random empty spaces and a couple pieces I really like do hidden, I was in Japan at the time and threw in new merch I had just bought but was too tired each night to bother taking everything off and re-arranging it all. Maybe if I ever get a deep windowed bag I'll retry it with the figure again!

>>9651228
Thank you! And yes, unfortunately the color will get worn off. I'm not sure if it was from a single rougher impact (which I assumed it was due to the scratched vinyl on the area) or from rubbing against the vinyl for a while. Either way, if you have a deeper windowed bag, you should be okay, mine was just too shallow. Best of lucks, do post when you get to make your bag!
>>
>>9651692
I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out how I want to customize mine at the moment. Been trying out different motifs and items that are related to my husbandos but it's not coming out as well as I hoped. I'm curious to see how everyone else is trying to customize their bags too.
>>

I have a small dilemma

I had my best boi related phone cover, however I have gotten a new phone that no longer fits I don't know what to do with it. Is there a decent way to incorporate it onto my bag? Make it a clip on and decorate in the shell where the phone would sit? Just saw out the decor bit and make it into a pin? Or is it just a dumb bad idea
>>
>>9651956
It really depends on how hard it'd be to cut out the decorative part imo. if you think it'll be easy enough cut it and maybe leave some excess material and make it into a keychain?

Nah, whatever kind of art you like the best is the best. These are about the stuff you love, and if you love the fan merch go for it. If it's all readily available, then the franchise is probably doing well enough they don't need the above and beyond financial support. The price for merch is about the same so put your money where it makes you happy.

Please feel free to critique + comment esp on my obviously bootleg bags but here's an improvement on my Lance bag. Made the rosette and rose in the corner so I'm pretty happy with it as is but I got more merch I need to add now.

Next project is Hibiki (Im@s) and then Tokoyami, but I'm strugging on what color base to get. Torn between black with a backing or doing a full red bag. Most of the merch I've accumulated so far is split between the UA uniform and the training uniform, so I dont have any idea what color to use. Thought about red because of his choker and I don't want to lose him on a black bag since he's mostly black. Ideas/suggestions?
>>
>>9655247
>If it's all readily available, then the franchise is probably doing well enough they don't need the above and beyond financial support
If this is you logic I'm sorry to tell you that you don't actually love X as much you think.
>>
>>9655253
Because I made a sweeping generalization about the industry in regards to a vague discussion post? Pokemon, Yuri on Ice, or other massive franchises won't even notice the few hundred dollars it takes to build an itabag. If someone likes fan art and wants to buy it and put it in their bag, there's no reason not to. I don't think that makes their bag less good than any other.

I personally really like bags with nice aesthetics, additional flourishes, and well thought out layouts, and value that as opposed to the origins or dollar value attached to the merchandise. Itabags are a personal preference game, though, and if someone is happiest when they manage to snag ten of their pricey official holy grail that's awesome, too. I don't think one is better than the other.
>>
>>9655250
>Tokoyami, but I'm strugging on what color base to get. Torn between black with a backing or doing a full red bag.

I can see a black bag with a red/yellow bg insert to put the merch on looking nice :D
>>

>I personally really like bags with nice aesthetics, additional flourishes, and well thought out layouts, and value that as opposed to the origins or dollar value attached to the merchandise

Louder for the people in the back.

I hate the mindset here that you're not showing enough love if you didn't spend enough money.
>>
>>9655479
>I hate the mindset here that you're not showing enough love if you didn't spend enough money.
People forget that when this whole originated, the "pain" part came from being a pain to look at AND a pain to your wallet. The standards keep getting lower and lower.
> oh, cheap bags are fine because then you can spend more on merch
> fanart is just as good as official merch, price tag doesn't equate love!
>>
>>9655493
You chose to ignore the rest talking about the importance of hte overall aesthetic. Which is perfectly achievable without taking out a second mortgage. You sound like one of those people who doesn't think a marriage will last if the ring doesn't cost more than two months salary.
>>
>>9655493
My bag was cheap taobao

But after all the fees, shipping and customs it cost more than my wego ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't see how that saves me money on merch desu I thought having a bag that suited ~aesthetic~ was more important.
>>
>>9655493
How many times to we have to talk about the fact that fan merch isn't necessarily less expensive than official merchandise, and that it's not a "cheap" way out because it's not cheaper. I have a fan merch bag - for a character with exactly one piece of official merch, which I do own, so don't come for my head - and it's easily a $500 bag. Even in this hobby that's not considered cheap or subpar.

No one is saying make your bag empty and crappy, no one is saying that bootleg heart bags look better than higher quality base bags. The only comment was that fan art merchandise is not evil, and doesn't make a bag worse for it's inclusion, and that collecting merch that is extremely expensive is a matter of preference. Take a chill pill.
>>
>>9655504
Ntayrt but she sounds more like the people who think a marriage doesn't last if you don't invest effort in. The monetary value shows you value the show, no one is saying buy the most expensive stuff but damn don't be so damn defensive about being a cheap gull. If you love the show and you invest time in it to make it the best itabag you can you can get by with a couple legit items instead of slapping on all fan made and or bootleg items. The anon who posted her handmade rosette just took up the space of 3 can badges; you don't need a second mortgage- work with what you can in your budget instead of bitching about others standards for what is an expensive hobby.

We're really arguing over this again? Fanmerch is just as expensive, if not, more expensive sometimes. Fanmade =/= cheap.

Now if you're buying bootleg/fanmade BECAUSE you're too cheap to buy real merch, that's completely different. Half of the time those are the FB tier bags that have 10+ series thrown into a knockoff bag just so people can jump onto the itabag bandwagon.
>>
>>9655675
Not if you live somewhere with an abundance of fanartists who make merch. Fanmerch is definitely cheaper then because you wouldn't have to deal with proxy fees, shipping fees within and from Japan, consolidation fees, etc.
>>
>>9655716
This is incredibly subjective. Fan merch often has a higher base cost.

I was able to import about 25 pieces of official merchandise for about $60, including all fees. Many of them were second hand for only about ¥100. My fan charms of the same character all cost at least $8, even purchased in person. Most were closer to $10-12.

It depends on the character. The series. The shopping service. The specific merchandise in question. New or used, fads, luck of the draw, etc.

Fan merch does not mean cheap.
Official goods does not mean expensive.
Fan merch does not mean expensive.
Official goods does not mean cheap.

Arguing over price is only there to obscure the fact that people don't like fan merchandise and think it's lesser than official goods because it's an unlicensed product, and the marketing department that owns the IP isn't getting their cut. That's it. That's the only legitimate reason here.
>>
>>9655737
Thank you.
>>
>>9655716
if you're going to talk about fan merch in regards to purchasing it off artist alley, its not that cheap as (>>9655737) said.

When your husbando/waifu has no goods and you have to commission for these custom charms, you end up spending $25-$?? for the image and $10 for the production... so just as expensive, anon.

I personally own both official and the knockoffs... Still supporting the industry? But when your husbando's merch is mostly a limited time UFO catcher good, getting official multiples is hard.
>>
>>9655564
I'd say plain to let the merch stands out, but depends on the pattern. Definitely something more subtle would be best (something halftone comic pattern might be fun but that's just me)

I don't have the money or the time to make that many bags that I'm truly happy with, so I have to prioritize only the husbando I really love. Making itabags specifically to wear to cons is treating them like fashion accessories?
>>
>>9656939
Yes? Making an accessory to wear to an event to complete their 'look' of being a weeb who loves a specific FOTM show is a very specific kind of fashion accessory, but that's basically what it is. They want to wear a trendy bag for it to be seen and for people to see them a certain way, that's what fashion is.

i thought of green right after my post and now i feel dumb.
to be honest though im not a fan of the mint bags since id preferably use the same bag for 2 characters (not at the same time i would just like to unpin everything and use the same bag for another character).
Is choosing a colour that isn't exactly representative of your character an ita bag sin? or would white be neutral enough to be ok?
>>
>>9657403
Honestly, these seem very reasonable to me. Remember that you are basically paying for an art commission (and this artist's style is fairly detailed) plus charm production (which includes setup, cost of making the charm, and likely shipping to the artist).
>>
>>9657403
I understand your sticker shock, but I've actually been wanting to commission some charms. I haven't done any price shopping, but all things considered these prices seem very fair for what you're getting: exactly what you want.

Those prices are all very reasonable if they take about 3-6 hours, and they honestly might take longer than that. Once you factor in cost of production the per hour wage is pretty low.

You can just post it to /yoi/ when it pops up, then. I'm sure other people will like it too.
>>
>>9658302
It also depends on what the bag is and how extreme it is. A few rare charms of something common like Pikachu or Rilakkuma isn't going to throw folks off that much, compared to a HYPERBAG with 27 identical Kotori straps.

Itabags are nice because you can tailor it to your powerlevel, and it doesn't even have to be anime. I've seen sportsbags, planet themed bags, and even one based on olympic pins. At that point it may not be an itabag but it was certainly styled like one coincidentally if nothing else. It is at the core, fandom fashion.

> 27 identical Kotori straps
This made me count my bag
52 straps/buttons of the husbando on my daily bag, three more coming in the mail this month... Honestly, I just don't give a shit about my power level at this point. I love what I love and normies can bite me.

I just finshed the backing for my Steel Panther back and luckily, the buttons don't seem to blend too badly with it. My plans are adding studs around the window, and for the inside, a signed cd case for the middle and two plush toys on each side. Depending on whether there's space left, I'd also like to get miniature guitars and repaint them to look like theirs.
>>
>>9658302
I can't put shelves up in my apartment because it's rented (and I've no room for more bookshelves) so I can put all my crap on display in a bag and hang it up on the side. I can still love the characters, I can show my love on display, but I can move it around (hide it at parties) and it's a fun creative outlet. I can even go full trash and take it to cons.

It's a sweet deal desu

Got my bag for zaShunina in the mail. I might have overestimated the bag size and underestimated my merch. Still trying to figure out how to arrange everything and still include that small bit of Shindou. I was hoping to add his red strings as decoration but that might make it too cluttered without removing 1/3 the merch so it doesn't get lost.
>>
How do y'all display your bags when you're not using them? Shrines? Coathooks? Thrown in a closet?

Shamelessly fishing for inspo.
>>
>>9658799
Right now it's a hook on the back of my closet door, but I'm hoping to do what T&B anon does and set up command hooks on my wall with some other merch some time.
>>
>>9643259
What do you do when you have a shounenshit husbando with basically zero merch? Not even fanmade stuff really. I've seen a few shirts and I have a plushie I bought in 2010 but nothing for an itabag. My runnerups have even less unfortunately.
>>
>>9658875
Who is it?
>>
>>9658880
Kakuzu from Naruto. I know, but he's the only one with enough sentimental value to make the price worth it. Runner ups would be Kisame, Hashirama, or even Obito. I'd probably even be happy with Kakuzu + Hidan bag if I knew I could balance it but I know it'd end up like 80% Hidan.

Does anyone have examples of bags with multiple plushes in the window? I'm working on a Pokemon bag (Alolan Vulpix) using a wego full window bag and I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep things balanced. Thank you!!

Fellow alolan vulpix bagger! I'll post pics when I can, but I'm doing half kanto and half alola. I don't have much advice but just remember that plushies pull the eye and you might want to spread them around. Dangles are also good.

Anon I love splatoon and your bag, I agree with other anon about painting the bow or even putting two backings together (one pink on one side and the other green) I'd just tweek it ever so slightly for all the pieces placements so it can all look nice and even, sorry for nitpick, still love your bag!

personally this anon is going to stuff all the plush in a salus a4 bag.

>>9660232
i have more than 2 bags and planning bags, as well... but i guess, its because for one of the many planned bags is just spill-over from my first bag.

or group might just be having a lot of merch. of singular characters and don't want to go mixed fandom bag...

for me, as long as the planned bags are GOOD and well arranged. if they're shitabags, don't even bother, pl0x

>>9658718
>>9658958
I was the other person in that thread that was checking if they had the strap, I did have the charm and she did get it.
>>
>>9660296
Nah, it's fine if you have quality bags/multiple husbandos/more than one bag for a husbando but I'm just looking at their "planned" list and...the bandwagoning is real with this one. One of them is for a character that debuted literally 3 days ago. I mean sure, if you can be that devoted to a character in 3 days alright, but idk I feel like more and more people are making bags just to have them.
>>
>>9660232
i keep characters in 'planned' stages (bookmarking merch, tracking auctions etc) for minimum 3 months to ensure that i actually care about the character lol. My first bag I wasted a lot of money on and completely quit the game (league of legends).

>>
>>9660387
Don't worry about the slow pacing anon. I've been working on the same bag for over a year now and it's still going strong. Sometimes budget is an issue and sometimes it's how often merch shows up on the market that's the issue.
>>
> mention on twitter I'm making a bag for a relatively obscure ship

I really want to try this tutorial for some stickers I have but I've never worked with resin so I'll forever consider it but never have the guts to try it. Most of the stickers I've bought are vinyl based so who knows how they'd react to resin.

Has anyone ever had a problem with choosing a color for a multiple-person ita bag? Pic related, I'm going to make an ita bag for CYaRon but I don't know how to find a middle ground between pink, orange, and blue. Most of their merch together is on an orange background. I want to avoid white for obvious reasons. I'm thinking about just going for pink (which is the image color of best girl anyway).
>>
>>9660613
I'm not very well versed in color matching but perhaps grey would be a good middle ground? It's a good neutral and would work with the color of the uniforms. A+ for picking best subunit.
>>
>>9660589

Did you use the same resin the blog suggested? I want to make sure to use a resin that doesn't yellow but I live in Canada so this one is hard to come by or shipping is expensive

Raichu itabagger here.
I finally decided and ordered the purple ita bag that I has asked about in the last thread.

Now I have to wait over a month for the bag to arrive and I couldn't wait to put together a layout. Apologies for all the fanmerch if that's something that bothers you. All the items in here I own or it's on it's way to me and I've made all the items to scale for the backpack insert.

I was hoping to get some feedback on the layout. Does it look too spread out? I'm so unsure of myself since this is my first bag. I appreciate any help.

Here's a reference to the bag if that helps: https://img0.etsystatic.com/191/1/6774806/il_570xN.1249332180_4bka.jpg
>>
>>9660783
oh, I forgot to mention how I determined my layout.

I'm having a hard time finding OG Raichu things so I ended up putting any merch of that version in a diagonal from top left to bottom right, and then filling out the rest with the Alola Raichu since I have more of it
>>
>>9660613
Go for a pastel purple or something like gray. That way you can incorporate all the colors without washing out.

>>
>>9660358
Do these people not understand the concept of a 'one absolute fav. character'? You can't have ELEVEN husbandos/waifus. I mean you can love a zillion different characters, but then that character isn't your husbando/waifu, they are just part of a harem.

Sooooooo I started an itabag for Sheryl Nome. But I hate how small these bags are, so I bought a bigger one, which means that I had to buy more merch to fill it, and in the process I realized I should be thanking the gods that Macross shit is so cheap.

But for V1 of the bag, this isn't total hot garbage, right?
>>
>>9661029
No, I've been here for over a year, and I know that the girl who handles most of the Surugaya group orders is a massive multibagger. While I could do the orders myself, I'd rather pay the higher shipping fees and save myself the trouble, and I'm happy she's a part of the community.

I actually got another one of those shikishi in my most recent order of supplies from mandarake (cause they're legit like a dollar and they take up space and are gorgeous). I got one that matches one of the wedding dress keychains hanging in the center. A frame or something like that is a great idea! I'll have to go ruminate on that in the scrapbooking section at michaels.
>>
>>9661609
thank you! I'm glad it seems to be working out.
I hope the purple the etsy seller provided is accurate too, the items I put in are relatively accurate. I'm nervous to see how all the clear acrylic keychains will look on the purple though.

OMG please update as you go along! as mentioned by >>9661525 i have a Ranka bag and i'm so happy to see a Sheryl bag (I was considering one of my own since I got a lot of sheryl merch alongside some of my Ranka merch). I also started with a heart bag and quickly upgraded to a larger one (one of the massive window totes).
I agree so hard about Macross merch prices, i've gotten so much shit for way cheap, including the majority of my Ranka figures (barring a few I bought to have in-box)
>>
>>9662204

I totally agree, my statue collection started BECAUSE the ichiban kuji prize statues were so fucking cheap. I just bought a whole new strap set of Sheryl straps specifically for this bag (and also because there was one of Sheryl dressed as Sivil??? I don't get the reasoning but she's my favorite screaming space waifu so I'll take it) and I'm slowly acquiring other things via mandarake and Y!J. When that other anon suggested canbadgi I commissioned a buddy with a heart-shaped button maker to run off some buttons too.

Between this and Uta Macross my life has just become 100% Deculture.
