Halloween is a tuesday this year
>>
>>9649813
Nothing really. I'm going to wear my dinosaur kigu and hand out candy (full size chocolate bars and ring pops) to the kids.
>>
>>9649813
My boyfriend is letting me dress him up in a matching witch coord this year. I'm excited.
>>
I probably won't do much on Halloween day. but I have costumes and outfits planned for the entire month. Who says you need to celebrate Halloween only on the 31st?

Convinced my ex to come visit the weekend before halloween.
Gonna dress in something spooky/sexy, gonna take him around the campus, gonna party with him, gonna break his dick, gonna get back together.
That's the plan at least.
>>
>>9649813
Might go to some halloween parade in my town if I'm brave enough (social anxiety sufferer here)
Might be able to convince some of my relatives and my family to have a halloween dinner with me or something (again, social anxiety, I don't have any friends)

Although i already accepted being a loner 4ever heh heh...eh

Halloween is normie costumes only so can't get too elaborate or obscure with it, last year the boyfriend and I did Harley Quinn and Batman having-just-fought-and-maybe-fucked and did a pub crawl.

Not sure what we'll do this year.

I dunno about where you are, but halloween events happen all throughout october in my city. There are costume nights at local pubs and stuff, malls and theme parks have promotions and such, there are ghost tours all over town where a guide will talk about all of the grousome stuff in history that happened around the areas, scarehouses and such that encourage you to wear costumes, and we've got an annual zombie walk event downtown that's so big the city shuts down a few streets so it's safe for the crowds.
>>
If work does a costume contest again (ours are usually 3 days)
>Multi eyed monster with a bunch of googlie eyes n junk on a sweater

Halloween is on a tuesday this year. Most people can't party on a school or work night, so most stuff will likely be happening the weekend before. That isn't strange or unusual. Like with Christmas, a majority of people swap gifts on the 25th but its not unusual to get and open gifts before then.

Also I work at a place where I can be in costume and I am hosting a Halloween event.
>>
I was going to go as a Japanese school girl with my boyfriend but don't really have any pieces together for it. Probably going to order something off of Amazon
>>
>>9649813
I'll be in Tokyo with my bf on halloween and I still can't decide what to do. Disneyland or Shibuya Cross or something different altogether?
Dunno, but I will def shop a lot on the couple of days before so I can get all the sweet sweet halloween goodies before 'christmas season' starts on nov first.

I'll wear my witch coord to class bc zero fucks given.

I'm in the process of making a mask from scratch to make this. Ordered some clothes off aliexpress and praying they get here on time.

>>
I need help thinking of a costume. It's gotta be something involving a button-down shirt and slacks, as that is dress code at work and I'm not trying o be outlandish with it (I teach kids for a living).
>>9650051
Go out that weekend.
>>
Group costume with the boys, plans still up in the air.

The big divide is in the costume decision. One side wants to do nameless costumes (ie. green army men), while the other side (my side) wants to do named costumes (ie. characters from a show with distinct personalities and quirks)

It's rapidly devolving into having multiple smaller groups, though.
>>
>>9650885
>clay
That shit is gonna be heavy and uncomfortable.
>>
>>9650972

That's why you don't wear the clay... You make a mold of it and cast it in another lightweight material.
>>
I need some sort of work-appropriate costume that isn't too overboard. Thinking of like a cute witch or something basic like that. Anyone else dressing up for their jobs?
>>
On Halloween I'm going over to my parents house and handing out candy with my daughter. Not sure what were going to dress up as yet. Some time before Halloween my sister and I are planning on getting together and making halloween themed snacks and watching spooky movies! I think I'll wear my panda kigurumi for that
>>
>>9651155
Btw if anyone has any cute mother daughter costume ideas that would work with a baby let me know because I'm having a hard time thinking of one that's not super basic
>>
>>9651156
Years ago, my mom made a kangaroo one that was really cute. Depends on how old the baby is if you want to carry it or actually plop it in the pouch
>>
There's a party happening at the bar down the street near me on Friday, planning on dropping by for a few drinks as either Tyler D from Fight Club or Freddy Mercury
>>
Hmm. Maybe I'll dress up as Daria on Halloween since I have to work. Debating on wearing a wig or not

>Right length, but natural hair too dark
>Unable to sell wig; right color but needs to be much shorter

Id like to change into a princessy Lolita coord and pass out candy, but I think the neighborhood kids will be home by the time I get off work.

Hey, can you give someone with a similar plan a idea on how you plan to produce this?
I posted my plans on this thread too ( >>9650818 ) .
And I was thinking, since it's a skull and it doesn't have to be solid from the inside (obviously).
Would that still be too heavy? Else I'll get some silicon for making molds and then using resin or something, does that sound like a better option for me?
The main problem would be getting the silicon for the molding, and I might miss my deadline if I need to wait for that to arrive.
>>
>>9650603
>>9650658
I know people wear costumes to events and parties, I guess the way anon worded it made it sound like she was wearing vampire and ghost costumes on normal regular days.
>>
I'm going as Kotori from love live. I'm excited because she's super cute and pretty normal looking so I won't get too many weird stares. I'm just excited to wear a wig and contact lenses again since I only have 2 cons a year. Plans are either get invited to a party, find an event downtown, chill with the boyfriend or hang out as a group with a few of his friends.
Not allowed to thot out and wear shimakaze at night time so I'll probably wear the same thing or go for a normie costume or another cosplay
>>
>>9650157
>in something spooky/sexy
What ideas do you have so far?
>>
>>9650900
Same. I'm wearing all black and then a black cat mask that I'll take off once I start class so they aren't distracted. They have miss Frizzle patterned dresses on Amazon but I was miss Frizzle last year. I'll also be partying on the weekend. A good hour from home
>>
>>9651181
This guy has some helpful videos I'm following. It's my first time making anything so I'm following these videos exactly:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOHd5bNQrcw

The other videos of his process should be in the recommended side, but if you don't see them just head over to his channel.

Unless you have super lightweight clay, it's going to be heavy and any clay is fragile. I definitely recommend doing the silicon stuff. And that way, you can make a lot more and even sell copies of it if you want! I plan to sell copies of mine since it is a bit of money and time to make a mask.
>>

Yup. I'm trying to talk the office into doing a costume contest. We did it last year but there's all new employees and I'm not sure how many of them would be on board.

Last year I dressed up as a vampire to pass out candy at home. Thought I would reuse the fangs but go all-in with my makeup for the office. Have a really nice black dress to wear with it. The only thing is I have no idea how to style my waist-length wavy hair.

Going to wear my horror garden coord at home this year while I hand out candy and watch a ton of horror movies. Halloween on a Tuesday isn't so bad.
>>
I'll hopefully have a house party with some friends the weekend right before it. Tuesday's such an unfortunate day for it to land on.

I like all of this except for the weird hand things. I think either try a long-sleeve blouse so they'd look like part of the sleeve or go for gloves instead. Right now they just look out of place, IMO.

Agreed with
>>9651706

Long opera length gloves or long sleeves if you want to wear the fingerless gloves here. Otherwise, you can stick with short sleeves and wear gothic statement rings and paint your nails.

Solid black tights are fine. I think you're better off showcasing your headdress and print instead of overwhelming yourself with ott all over.

I think your hair could use a little volume. If you're not going to wear bangs, maybe have your hair down in waves (leave your hair braided and with holding product til you're ready to go to the meet)

Why did this thread get stickied and not the Halloween costume thread? I will repost here then. Looking for easily recognizable but not overly common this year female costume, no cleavage, for a petite female. I have one other person willing to do a group costume with me, that's it. So I was thinking maybe star wars or Jurassic Park. My big thing is I want it to be recognizable for normies without being too common or inappropriate. No slave leia bullshit
>>
>>9652275
>female star wars
Rey, but thats overdone as shit
regular leia oldie and easy
ventress or sabine wren if we are digging into the canon cartoons
if you are very handy you could do one of the tail head ladies- Ahsoka, Shaak Ti, Aayla Secura. Or, Luminara Unduli. Some normies will still recognise these well.

Jurassic Park
>...dinosaur? The redhead lady is dumb and none of the human females are really worth dressing up as. Raptors and rexes are popular, you could buy a decent mask online or look up some fancy makeup tricks. Or you could be a raptor wrangler and wear a commando suit with jurassic park patches?

You could maybe do triceratops or some shit too if you are feeling creative.

Alright guys I'm gunna confess this is my first time coming to this board but I figured if anyone could help it'd be you guys.

I'm looking to go as the Joker this halloween (I know it's common as fuck but it's a cool costume that most people get) and I have my costume sorted. My question is every time I've done it before the facepaint I've used has always been flaky and uncomfortable to wear so does anyone have any recommendations or advice on doing the makeup and the hair? Any help appreciated thanks lads
>>
>>9652388
What are you using? Just the cheap Halloween aisle stuff or something better?
>>
We'll see if I can pull this off. I am nervous about the hat.
>>
>>9652422
It's been cheaper stuff because I haven't had money in the past. I'd be interested in spending money to make it look better, just need some advice on what's decent and how to put it on.
>>
>>9652296
Oh damn thank you. That would be cool to try to make and I have never seen a party city amidala
>>
My sister and I always do something together for Halloween. This year we're going as emperor palpatine and Yoda. I already bought the cloaks so we'll be nice and warm that day. If you live in Toronto or close to it, the Village (on Church from Wellesley down to Queen) has a really lively Halloween scene. It's where all ur gay bars and drag scene is, so the street gets blocked off and everyone walks around in costume. There's lots of food vendors too. Even on workdays it's really busy, so I would recommend for anyone whose nearby.
Last year was great except
>we went as bananas in pajamas
>guy clearly tripping on something sees us and grabs the top of our banana heads excitedly
>shakes vigorously™
>we were starting to freak out and yelling for him to stop
>his equally fucked up gf starts screaming at him to stop. He releases the bananas
>banana shake

I made those heads out of craft foam, they were a little wrinkled but omg I expected them to fall apart after that.

Friend is having her kid's 1st b-day on the 20th, we'll all be dressing up for that. Another friend might host an art show on the halloween weekend. I have a plague doctor outfit stored somewhere, meant to wear it last year, but had to work at the time.

>>
I'm dressing up as my D&D character for our weekend session before Halloween. That's probably as spooky as I'll get. Maybe a second costume as Velma for the actual date.
>>
Thinking about doing one of the outfits from Twice’s TT video. Dahyun’s bunny costume would be cute but I really don’t want to overheat. Probably going to go with Nayeon’s devil costume.
>>9652388
I would say Ben Nye clown white face paint is your friend. Homestuck cosplayers have tutorials everywhere on how to apply and seal it. No idea about the hair...if you don’t want a wig and are ok with having to wash your hair repeatedly use colored hair spray. If you get a wig from Party City or whatever you can do a wash of it in fabric softener and it should reduce the shine.
>>
>>9651420
>I was thinking Elvira but I don't have the tits to pull that off
Just go as Vampira then
>>
Probably just going to get drunk and hang out with my friends. I'm Twiceshit, so I'll probably wear something like this. I can already hear people mistaking me for sailor moon, but that was the original intention of the outfit, so...

>>9652388
If you need it in a pinch, try Snazaroo and white gloves, maybe? A lot of HS cosplayers used to use it. It needs a lot of layers, though.
>>

if you're crunched for time, you can make a pretty solid and lightweight mask out of foam, papier mache and gesso.
it takes some effort and time to properly layer and sand the gesso, but depending where you live it may be faster than waiting for molding supplies to ship to you.

the only major downside is you wouldn't be able to easily make replicas as another anon suggested

My job allows us to dress up for Halloween. I work in the seafood section of a grocery store so I was thinking of doing a "sailor" costume.

Also interested in suggestions for good makeup and face paints for more theatrical full-faced looks.

I've struggled with acne most of my life, and have only just been getting it under control within the past ~2 years, so if there's a particular brand that isn't as high-risk as others, that'd be ideal. I'd like to not /completely/ shit on all of the progress my skin has made in the past few years, however I do understand that risk is never fully unavoidable when you're talking full-face makeup/paint.

Assuming anything you could just grab at Spirit Halloween wouldn't fit that criteria, otherwise I'd already have done that lol.

what am i looking at in this image
>>
Hi /cgl/, I'll try not to shit up your board for too long.

I'm thinking of going to my local Halloween party as Spike Spiegel. From what I can tell all I would have to do is get a cheap navy blue suit, butcher it up to make one lapel really big, and sew on a few patches of lighter blue fabric. I already have the two most important accessories, long curly hair that will probably get me fired if I let it grow any longer, and a Jericho 941.
>>
>>9653341
Snazaroo is cheap and widely available, but since it's face paint for literal children, it's really hypoallergenic and easy on the skin. It was popular with Homestucks if that says anything.

worst-case scenario, people think you're a mummy
best-case scenario, you get recognized and people love it

it's a win-win
>>
>>9653519
He probably is too obscure, but it's a cool design even if people don't recognize him and as the other anon said, they'll probably think you're a mummy or something if they don't. And for those couple of people that do recognize you, it'll probably make their night. I know it would make mine anyway.
>>
>>9653519
Do the costume, and then at the next con, book a table and inspect dozens of 1911s through the whole thing.
>>
>>9650072
awwww, the pic is so cute!! anyone know where to get super long sleeved shirts without getting large sizes? otherwise the sleeve circumference is too big and then you'd have to deal with he rest of the fabric...
>>
>>9652388
Snazaroo, Wolfe FX/Diamond FX/Tag/Global, Mehron (their clown white), Ben Nye's creme make-up, Kryolan. Most of these can be applied with sponges or brushes. Creme based paints are set with powder, water based paints are set with setting spray and powder. Try not to touch your face while you're painted, it will last longer. Practice before the night before Halloween.

Do you want Heath Ledger Joker, comics joker? If you're doing a more Dark Knight Joker, then its the one time I think spray on hair stuff can work.

>>9653341
Snazaroo or Ruby Red. They're the best for sensitive skin and they're cheap. The black and white for both of them leave something to be desired but otherwise they're good paints.
>>
I've narrowed down to three options, but I'm not sure which one to go with

A) RotS!Obi-Wan Kenobi, only thing stopping me from this is the cost of getting a costume that doesn't look like some party city shit that'll fall apart at a moment's notice

B) Bob Ross, I already have everything I need for this, just need to figure out how to do get my hair into an afro

C) Mime, I did want to do this with a group of people, but they've been flaky. I also have no idea how to do the makeup, so this is probably out of the running unless my people get their shit together.
>>
>>9653581
Bob Ross for sure, and buy a wig.

halloween always sneaks up on me and by the time i realize it's two weeks away it's too late to make or order any kind of intricate costume and i won't ever waste money on those overpriced shit tier party city costumes.

i have pic related which got mistaken for a ring master by normies during the last con i wore it too. so i think i'm just going switch up the accessories, hair, and make up to make it look more circus-y. i also have kotori's yume no tobira outfit and i was originally thinking of adding some cute wings to it and just be a fairy? i'll probably do both since the halloween parties will be all weekend.

Hey guys, im going to a birthday party on halloween, the theme is Villians, and i want to make a good impresion but not spending toomuch on my costume.

any ideas ?

Mine were:
- Evil Morty
- Death
- The Bear from The Revenant
>>
>>9654093
Evil morty would be the best effort to recognizability factor. Bonus points you could wear a morty for president button.
Just get the details close and don't use a suit or you'll just look like a shitty TWD Governor

Death is easy but overdone

The bear seems kinda hard, but you should have some Leo DiCaprio prop like a big doll or cardboard cutout or something

I quit drinking because i have a problem, so i wasnt going to go out this year, so i never worked on my warboy (wargirl?) costume. But i decided I'm going to go out and just smoke some weed at parties instead. So now I'm throwing together Pris from Blade Runner. I don't have time to actually make a costume, so i just ordered some similar shorts and mesh shirt. I already have the bleached hair and it's staying with the post-apocalyptic theme.

I got my bf a pretty neato mask so i think it'll be a good time for both of us.

Cat girl maid. No one will get it, but I will enjoy wearing it. It won't be anything fancy, the dress is a bit subtle as far as maid outfits go. Black with minimal white lace on the edges. This is not remotely enough hair. Get a good wig, you can’t put that much headdress on top of two plain (and honestly, REALLY thin, look into Misako’s techniques) braids. From the looks of it a wig is gonna be less work for you than turning that hair into something big enough.

Agreed that the gloves are weird. Too much bare expanse of arm. Treat arms in lolita like absolute territory.

I'm struggling to balance the coord while still keeping my hand covered, without being able to wear gloves.

I want to dress up as Himiko but I immediately got stuck on her undershirt.

>undershirt
Is it olive or gray?? To me it's a white collar with a gray body but to others it looks olive. I was thinking of just taking a white collar and putting it on a gray button up.

>sweater/sweater vest
Going to buy a brown v-neck sweater.

>blazer
Another two-tone piece. Due to time constraints and the limited amount of people that'll actually know who I'm supposed to be, I was planning on buying a black blazer with a similar cut and brass buttons. Pic related has a good view of her emblem so I can work on that over the weekend.

>skirt
Bought some fabric and will work on it this week. In her sprites it looks like a bubble skirt but the pre-made Ali cosplays have knife pleats so I'm not so sure which to do.

>boots
I have no clue. I have some booties I can wear but I like how slouchy and pointy hers are. I'm having a hard time finding a good pair.

>hat
I found some tutorials on Pinterest on how to make basic witch hats and I was going to use some lightweight wire to better hold the top and brim in place.

>hair brooch
I just plan on buying a blue jewel and do the design around it with wire.

I know it won't be 100% accurate and I'll probably get posted in the bad cosplay thread but I want to do something that won't make me embarrassed when I explain what I'm supposed to be.

Putting together Mrs. Nesbitt for Halloween.

I have a Buzz Lightyear costume, but what I'm concerned about is the hat and apron. I'm sure I could find a hat that looks good enough at Goodwill or something, and I could totally find a pink frilly apron to paint a heart on...but what I really want to make is the detached arm to go with it.

Any ideas? I'm fairly green when it comes to actually making costume pieces.
>>

>>

Thanks, senpai. Makes the most sense with her color palette but still wanted to check.

>>
>>9657653
Love the tat anon, I wouldn't shade it myself. Looks great as a line drawing.
>>
>>9660276
I understand how important it is to not let a car accident put your life on hold, but wouldn't it be a better idea to hold off on this coord until you've healed enough to at least wear gloves? The wristcuff things you have look terrible and you really should wear a long-sleeved blouse if you want to cover up the scars.

Personally I think scars look ridiculously fucking cool but if you were operated on so recently I'm concerned about the area being exposed. It doesn't make much sense to cover up only some of them, too.
>>
>>9660458
Oh, I don't give a shit about the scars on my arm showing. It's more the missing pinky and wire in the next finger that I'm concerned will squick people- covering any of this is for their benefit, not mine.

So long sleeved blouse is the concrit so far, but if I do that then I don't know how to cover the hand in a way that still balances. Unless I did 3/4 sleeve?
>>
Planning to wear basic bitch maid costume, maybe with witch hat or something easy - since lazy.
Still don't even have a plan what party I wanna go to. So far everything looks rather dissapointing.
>>
>>9660567
The things you're using to cover your hands will look bad no matter what length of sleeve you're wearing. The concrit here is if you're concerned at all with how other people are viewing you, wait until you can wear gloves. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to give constructive criticism since you're asking for feedback.

Also never actually cosplayed before but been to a couple cons and need to make some friends before the convention in a couple weeks
>>

I am likely just going to paint part of my face black then get some small red glow sticks to put on the inside of the mask.

I will hate myself for doing it but the effect should be interesting.
>>
>>9660680
I will also likely wear black dress slacks with leather dress shoes to make it look more eyes wide shut like too.

Her horns are coming out of the back of her head, you'll need to do a wig that can hide the horns. Look and see what homestucks do to make horns, they've been crafting them for years.
>>

>undershirt
It's gray, It looks the same color as the gray parts of her blazer.

>skirt
No way it's bubble skirt, just knife pleats with poof underneath. Same as Chihiro's, but a lot shorter. In some art in the game, you can see it's just a regular pleated skirt.

>shoes
If it's just a halloween costume and you're not trying to be 100% accurate, I think just some boots in the same color will work fine.
>>
>>9660647
I can't sew for shit D:
>>
>>9650051
Same but, as a guy, it's still kind of a big deal for me.
>>
>>9660954
Thank you as well! Her skirt does look like Chihiro's and the knife pleats are more noticeable there. I'm still going to try to find some boots on the cheap but if anything I can just crop out my legs and post half-body sprites. :-)

Thought of something else! Cape or no cape? She only wears it in her concept art but I think it ties in the "ultimate magician" title well and it'll cover up my butt.
>>
should i wear one of my costumes to college on halloween? i was super hype for it but now im almost second guessing it.. im going on a limb and hoping that if i look decent and the fact that it's halloween will give me a pass.

There's supposed to be a Halloween party at a mutual friend of my bf and I. I decided to put together an okayish Mabel costume (going to do the shooting star on the sweater and the skirt this week). I figured it'd be a nice, comfortable thing to go as. I wish I could get my bf to do Dipper, but he isn't the type of person to dress up in costume.

Debating on whether or not to bring Journal 3. It would be a nice touch to the costume, but I also don't want it to get must up by drunk people being drunk.

Came to this thread to ask about the exact same thing. Anyone have a clue where to find a coat like this on the cheap without rolling the thrift dice?

I've seen a few so called replicas for the tune of $200 or so, and they all look like shit. They look like the duster Mac wore in that one episode of Always Sunny, all shiny black and shit, and I'd look just as autistic in the same piece.

I plan on going as a bunny, but I am a dude, so I will be a male bunny.

I just need some new tights. There are a number of stores in Ontario that sell tights, but the trick is getting the right size. There's 2 reps who usually help me, and I am very partial to the 'peavy' brand.

I guess the costume is the same as a female except for short hair and no bra cups. My tailor needs to make an adjustment on one of my bespoke bunny suits because I gained 5 lbs from last year, but that is why I had adjustable seams put in.

Question: long gloves or no? It may be chilly but I don't want to get them dirty and gloves may ruin the look.
