Does anyone know if we still have something like "Lolita Blog Carnival" active? I wanted to join this kind of thing since I'm an active poster an would be nice to meet other bloggers.
>>
Is So Pretty / Very Rotten worth paying 32 euro for? I've already read the study it was based on
>>
>>9650821
I liked it, but I wouldn't pay 32 euros for it. In my currency, it was around 15 euros.
>>
>>9650826
I included shipping
>>
>>9650829
Oh, I got free shipping from Amazon. Maybe you could wait until Black Friday if you really want it? I don't know if it's like that where you live, but here during this time a lot of bookstores make some really nice promotions. Other than that, I wouldn't pay 32 euros.
>>
>>9650833
Nope, there's no black Friday in my country. I thought that's only a thing in the US. Maybe I'll just wait until I want to buy other books so shipping is more justified. I was also wondering if it's still interesting if you already read An Nguyen's study.
>>
>>9650836
I read the study before buying the book too, but I bought it mostly because of the comics and the interviews. There's a very nice interview with Novala that I really enjoyed, and, of course, the comics were pretty nice too. The academical part is a nice reference for those who want to produce academical content related to Lolita Fashion, but it isn't, in any way, news for those who already take part in the fashion.

Did you read this one too? http://ir.lib.uwo.ca/etd/1042/

It's "Maiden’s Fashion As Eternal Becomings: Victorian Maidens and Sugar Sweet Cuties Donning Japanese Street Fashion in Japan and North America"

It's very nice and cover most part of the cultural aspects that are in the book, so I guess that the comics and interviews are going to be the only thing that're novelty for you.

I love Oak Tree Farms' Victorian styled boots, they're not exactly easy to wear but they're very high quality and so beautiful, just lolita fashion as a whole, honestly. I also like some of Rosemarie Seoir's pearl accessories, I hope to get their giant pearl heart earrings one day.
>>
As a lolita, are there any non-lolita brands that you love? I'm not talking about completely different styles you wear out of lolita, but non-lolita brands that match with your lolita wardrobe.
>>
Posting here because it could interest someone, there's a pink chess chocolate JSK going for about 40$, with no bidders, and is ending in 22 hours

Sorry I deleted, I meant to post it with another pic but that turned out to be too big to upload with mobile so I just posted the same thing again >>9650941
>>
>>9650950
It happens. What are your favorite non-lolita brands to wear with lolita, then?
>>
>>9650946
could be wrong but looking at what else is in the shop it looks like replicas
>>
>>9650946
Who else thinks this print did not age well? The overly bright colors are so unappealing now, I would totally buy it if the pink and mint were pastel instead of horribly bright
>>
>>9650953
Docs! They make it feel more like street fashion to me. I also would like one of those cutesey Red Valentino bags to wear with sweet but their bags this year are too normie
>>
>>9650755
Did you follow that thread? They weren't rips, they were intentional gaps and they allowed for movement of the person wearing it to prevent stress on the garment itself. And I'd like to know why you think the lace is cheaper. It's the exact same tulle lace they've always been using. I've only had one "bad" dress out of last year's releases and I think mine was a one off.
>>
>>9650821
no! paper quality is like romance novel quality (not very good?) and it's ok overall... wait until there's a good sales price on Amazon/Book Depository
>>
>>9650953
I don't know why that anon is replying as if they're me. I love Rosemarie Seoir too, and recently really got into designer scarfs that match my lolita prints.
>>
>>9650955
I still like it in mint and ivory but yeah, never liked it in pink. Bright colours just don't work with chocolate
>>
>>9650953
Just want to add I didn't necessarily mean brands that I wear with a proper lolita coord either, but it's still interesting to hear. I sometimes wear my Rosemarie Seoir dress with a lolita headdress, blouse and shoes.
>>
>>9650941
Alexander McQueen. I adore their bags and accessories, such as scarves and corset belts. Their stuff works great for gothic. Id love some of their footwear as well.
>>
>>9650955
It's probably how infamous the replicas were as well. Even at it's most popular you were much more likely to see a sad replica than the real deal.
>>
When is the Triple Fortune flower fairies print avaliable to buy? Is it likely that other brands will collab with flower fairies? The triple fortune dress is way too long.
>>
>>9650936
Suprisingly i sometimes find cute stuff at Superdry. Asos and new look are nice too, Ralph Lauren sometimes but pricey. I used to buy a lot at h&m but the quality is meh
But hey you get what you pay for.

It is actually something to be ashamed about, not in general but on this website. that's 4chan culture. If you weren't new you'd know this though so way to go proving my point.

Boyfriend is taking me to two haunted houses tonight and I wanted to dress in gothic lolita for the aes, with minimum poof since I know it'll be sorta cramped.

Thoughts? I won't be wearing anything super fancy, just a pretty basic coord, but would it be better just to dress in some shorts? >>
>>9651128
I have several things from them and like them, but they're nowhere near Japanese brand quality and sometimes seem overpriced unless on sale. I might be biased though because my comm is basically made up of Soufflesong fans.
On a side note, a few of the blouses they sell on their website aren't actually by them but by Zhi Jin Yuan (they also list that as a brand on their site) and you can get those cheaper from Aliexpress.

I am going to be honest. I am having a big laugh at all those whiney girls who claim they can’t become a lolita now Bodyline is offline.
>>
>>9651715
Same. There are more places now to buy lolita online than there ever were before. If you can't figure out where to get lolita in 2017 then clearly it's not meant to be and you should probably find a different hobby.
>>
>>9651715
>>9651721
>girls who claim they can’t become a lolita now Bodyline is offline.

T-They do exist?
>>
>>9651721
Indeed! Also the fatties who claim that Bodyline was the only place where they could buy... There are much more places you can cheap plus-size Lolita clothing. I believe bodyline didn’t even had the bigger sizes in stock for the past few months.
>>
>>9651128
i have a few of their punky/goth looking dresses and I like them well enough for the price. They're not the bees knees, but I like the designs and they aren't awful.
>>
>>9651728
In the first place I don't understand why you would want cheap clothing if you are a lolita.
>>
>>9651745
They're not lolitas though, they want to achieve the aesthetic without working too hard for it (assuming that buying anywhere that isn't Bodyline is hard work, which it isn't)
>>
How sturdy are AP bags? I just bought pic related, and I wonder if I could use it at University without ruining it.
>>
>>9651030
u take that back
>>
>>9650955
I still love it. CC was my first brand dress and it's delightfully tacky
>>
>>9651745
It's usually conlitas, and not in the way cgl often uses that word now. Basically cosplayers that want to "cosplay a lolita" and/or just wanna be like their favorite animu waifu and are only judging by costume quality standards. Or other people that don't see it as an actual fashion. I'm sad about all the shoes I put off buying, and some of their costumes and accessories were decent but in the end I think it will just help lolita overall. People have to actually want to put more than 5 minutes into it. Bodyline was basically like a mine field for new lolitas anyway, even with 2017 resources. Giving them a list of taobao shops ensures a slightly higher chance of quality.
>>
>>9651764
>Giving them a list of taobao shops ensures a slightly higher chance of quality.
Why not just send them to lacemarket, wunderwelt, y!a etc.? They can put the price at max 60 usd. You can't really get good taobao for so little.
>>
>>9651749
Depends on what you need for uni. Forget it if it's a textbook, the straps will stretch out/snap.
>>
>>9651749
I have that one and it's on the softer side, so I can see the pleather slowly flaking off with very regular use. I've been using it for years and it's still in great condition, but I don't use it daily and am pretty careful with it.

>>9651751
Never! I mean, more for you, right?
>>
>>9651769
Nayrt but I'm too petty to send them to Japanese secondhand sales because that decreases my own chances of snagging good deals. I'll happily point any newbie to LM, though.
>>
>>9651764
I'm a longtime taobao fan, but it's not easy for a westerner to use right off the bat. i would point them to lacemarket and facebook sales groups, thats the most user friendly.
>>
>>9651764
I think sending new people to taobao or bodyline lowers their standards of what lolita should be. You can use taobao once you have an eye for it and a certain expectation of quality.
>>
>>9651769
Because you could send to newbies to western secondhand sites since LJ. I meant as a direct replacement for bodyline since that's what we're talking about specifically. Not first purchases in general. I personally strongly prefer secondhand, but some people need tailoring, are too fat for brand, or just have weird hang ups about secondhand.
>>
>>9651773
>>9651774
See >>9651778 I forgot to refresh first. I almost never buy lolita specific items from taobao, but with (overpriced) sites like mylolitadress or shopping services like Yoybuy it's not any harder than pointlessly trying to get refunds from Mr Yan.
>>
>>9651509
In reality they probably wouldn't have blood or anything on their hands unless its a REALLY intense haunted house (like the 18+, sign a waiver kind). What you should really be thinking about is whether or not you'll snag a dress on tight turns, or if the haunted houses are going to be in a place where they would have dirt floors (in my area we have a lot of haunted houses that are just constructed on farms for the month of october, they can get relatively dirty).

At the very least, I'd de-poof, but it's not unusual for people to go in halloween costumes and stuff so I think you'll be fine.

Did anyone else notice Japanese lolitas dont wear wigs as often and often have gradient dyed hair? Or am I just imagining it?
>>
>>9651889
Wigs haven't been standard for Japanese lolitas since OTT sweet was queen. Probably for the same reason they often have slightly mismatched shoes and lower poof. The gradient hair is probably more of a streetsnap type of thing. At least I haven't seen it outside of that very often.
>>
>>9651778
>weird hangups about secondhand
I had this before I got into lolita but the speed at which you get over it when you find older items you fall in love with, wow. I deeply appreciate that I can actually go vintage shopping now as a result as well.

On the main topic, despite its varying quality issues, BL was a catch-all that took care of sizing, perceived language barriers/fears about overseas ordering and general fears about buying secondhand so I get why people are crying about it. And on the other hand, I agree with everyone else. There are just too many damn resources now to have excuses about not being able to get into the fashion, so nuts to that shit. Good riddance to them if BL disappearing is an insurmountable obstacle to their so called lacy dreams.
>>
>>9651889

I fucking give up on western indie brands for clothing, anons. I love the idea of supporting a budding designer but a dress I had preordered arrived with the waist bulky and lumpy from the poorly gathered skirt fabric, the bodice is tubular, and it just looks completely different from the sample. I'm so cut up about it because I was really looking forward to the dress arriving. Not going to drop the name of the brand because I'm going to get in touch with them about it, but I guess I just wanted to vent.

What indie brands are actually good?

>>
>>9652129
Cyperous.
>>
>>9652129
don't buy from lockshop. the owner is popular/efamous and suppresses the bad feedback. people are waiting months for their orders to ship.

I second brightlele. prisila and cyperous are the other japanese brands that i'd recommend. i've heard good things about monkeep too, but that dreamholic is only so-so.
>>
>>9652146
yeah, I've actually ordered from Lockshop and I didn't have a bad experience in that aspect. My biggest problem was the wig color- Vanille is MUCH darker in person than it is in the photos. What I thought was going to be a light blonde ended up being almost ash brown. She brightens the fuck out of her pictures to the point where the color doesn't even look the same. Stupid me, should have listened.
>>

For anyone considering getting this, do yourself a favor and don't. I had the original release and it's not lined, the print runs like crazy. Even when I had JUST gotten it the print was splotchy. Sewing was also pretty bad. Unless she's improved, which is possible. I haven't had any other dresses from her just because this one was so bad. Which sucks, because I love the print.
>>
>>9652148
Thats odd, my vanille mermaid wig looked the same as the photo's color. Maybe some of their batches are darker?
>>
>>9652153

I don't understand why people feel this way. It seems like that particular person was showing off the details or syringe or what not, but regardless, I don't get the attitude of hating selfie culture, especially when so many people in this fashion do it. But then again, I've gotten to the point where I think people taking selfies are cute and if they like doing it, whatever. Even if they aren't that attractive, at least they're having fun I suppose.

Seconding this. I bought this on the first round and was disappointed with almost every aspect of it. Print runs like crazy, will transfer onto other clothes, the sewing was awful, no lining, just one layer of cotton, bodice had terrible shape/was super unflattering; it was like she made her first dress ever and then decided to sell it. It was awful quality wise, but I've heard she's got better so here's to hoping that's the truth with this round.

I know a girl in her own comm who was strung along for almost a year before she got her wig, with tons of obviously fake excuses like one moment saying the mail is just taking very long and a month later saying "I'll ship this weekend", like didn't you ship already? She's full of shit. And whenever she tried to say anything to the comm she got tons of responses like "well IIIII always got my wig on time!!" from personal friends of the owner that drowned out her experience and made her feel stupid. If all of these people got their stuff on time and she had to wait many months then maybe it's her own fault right? UwU
Also one time a newbie asked for good places to buy wigs and mentioned that she heard about Lockshop being unreliable, a mod replied saying those stories weren't true and Lockshop is great and she should definitely buy from them. I wonder if that girl ever got her wig. Because if she didn't, she'd get zero support from this comm.

Different anon: you might be looking for 织锦园 - make sure you get the original store which should also have 织锦园 as or in the store name, and not the numerous resellers who sell their stock. Yilia is also good for blouses, I hope you find what you want!
>>
>>9652140
I don't want to be that negative Nancy but I was really disappointed with my wig from Brightlele. I ordered their long wavy curls in storm grey, and while I expected the cap to be small in me, it was also really thin! It was so thin you could see the tracks and I was mortified.

The fiber is also prone to tangling, despite very minimal wear. I don't know if I just have really bad luck. I had to treat it with silicone to make the fibers more manageable, but it is still the biggest downer I've had. Even the wigs I've bought from lucaille and ebay have been better.
>>
>>9652328
I also don't feel this as I don't like darker stuff so much. But I feel it for the cuts and the obvious use of cotton and not cheap shit polyester crap
>>
>>9652305

>>
>>9652393
Does AP use really bad polyester or something? I always see people complain about it but I love Moitie polyester, wouldn't want them to use anything else
>>
>>9652396

They actually use a shitton of different polyesters, most of it being really decent quality. I mean, it's only a $300 dress, it's not a $3000 Dior dress that moves with your body. But I've accidentally bought a satin dress from AP (didn't realise until after), and what I received was a really beautiful silky material, not the nightmare cheap stuff I'd envisioned. I think the quality of their polyester is pretty good, actually.

I think most people don't realise when they're buying a printed chiffon dress, it's supposed to be see-through and tissue-thin. That's the appeal of chiffon. But it also doesn't help that most of AP's chiffon prints tends to look rather weird, they just make up the print like they usually do, so you'd end up with something like Holy Theatre where all the white animals and white clouds look dirty because the lining is showing through the chiffon (like it's supposed to). Really, I think this is just bad design, but I can understand if people won't buy it because it does look kind of funky.

That, and there's also girls who hate on chiffon blouses. Some people just hate polyester, period.
>>
>>9652365

Besides what you said sometimes it's just a practical choice. Even if you wear a jsk like a normie sundress if it's not at least 50% natural fibers you're going to sweat like a pig in 80% or higher humidity, especially in 90 degree weather. When you live somewhere where it's only slightly better in autumn and winter it's not pretty or durable enough to be worth the suffering. If I'm going to be miserable anyway I'd rather take velvet and suffer in style.

I had this down as "people who don't like polyester", guess I should have specified it as the main reason some people don't like chiffon blouses.

I live mainly in AC rooms but they never get cold enough. So I guess I'm the opposite. I'd take any form of polyester so long as it's short-sleeved and airy enough, but I'd probably die in actually hot velvet. Never really had smelly polyester, either, in my experience the polyester is less likely to hold stains and stinks. I don't use a lot of anti perspirant though, so maybe I'm just not all that scenty.

I feel paranoid that I'm only the one who can't smell it sometimes, but I don't have a problem with smells sticking to it either. Of course I wash my clothes so ymmv for those anons who don't regularly. It's just miserable, melts my make up, and my entire face turns an ugly fire truck red.

I mean I've bought lots of putumayo just for roomwear, but you're going to look 10x better in an airy coord than something you're obviously struggling in. Even thick old school and a heavy cotton blouse feels and looks so much better unless you're only going to a con or not going outside other than the car and back. I'm a "lifestyler" that doesn't want to only wear lolita once a week, so your conditions and all that may vary there too. I don't touch any chiffon thanks to pets and narrow rough spaces I have to get through so I can't speak out that much.

That sounds like me in anything too thick. Wore a winter cutsew once (so, cotton knit jersey, but winter releases are often much thicker than summer releases) and had the flushed face, makeup melted off, the works. Never had this issue in lightweight polyester dresses or blouses. The thickness of the fabric affects me way more than whether it's polyester or natural, I'd struggle if the fabric was too thick even if it's cotton. I'm also a lifestyler, IW on weekdays and AP on weekends. Gotta say it's nice to be able to not care whether it's polyester or not, because a lot of IW is polyester as well.

We just live in and are adapted to different climates I guess.

Both the CoF thread on here and the coord help thread seems pretty sane. Just drop a note that you want to dress down. Why is AP Paris €50-€100 more expensive per item? Why bother when you could get it from Japan for cheaper including shipping and SS fees?
>>
>>9653058
I only use them for their sales, or when the colour I want of something is sold out. Plus I don't have to worry about import tax on bigger orders
>>
>>9653058
I think that this is especially convenient for Eurofags as orders often tend to end up in customs and you have to pay extra fees. This never happened to me though I know a lot of people who got that problem. For me it's also that I want to support their business here. Like, if no one would buy from their eu branch they'd close it down, which'd be super sad, because it'd not only leave some super sweet girls unemployed but would probably also slim the brands interest in doing events among europe
>>
>>9653058
They probably have to pay customs over the items that come in from Japan, so they calculate that in the prices. It could also be to oay for the rent, as the store is very close to the louvre so the rent is probably quite high.
>>
>>9653029

I have the same head scratching reaction to the global AF site and the local brand sites for the US. While the discrepancy isn't nearly as huge, the fact that I'm still paying less by going through the Japanese sites and paying for EMS is mind-boggling.
>>
>>9653093
What does it mean?
>>
How do you gulls handle negative feedback? Whether it be in lolita or otherwise. I'm trying to train myself to just tune into what's legitimately constructive and ignore blatant ugliness but it's so easy to fall into the trap of feeding it. I'm typically a pretty good sport until someone gets me in my insecurities.

And this isn't me crying about how people are mean on the internet, because I know that's inevitable. I'm genuinely interested in growing a thicker skin and wanna know how you gulls do it.
>>
>>9653083
In what way do you think it is badly managed?

Tbh, ordering through them saves a lot of time and hassle which I would have with an SS and driving to customs (petrol x time, because customs are like an hour away). If you only buy stuff from their sales section or if you really want sth to arrive as fast as possible it's totally worth it. Also if a problem appears it'd be way easier to talk about it and get a refund and such.
>>
>>9653137
It feels like they only have that shop for the prestige of having a shop at an A-location in Paris. You can't rely on people who only buy from your sale, or Asian tourists who have to fit something into their luggage they can buy in their own country for less. I don't know if AP Paris is easier to deal with since I've never had any reason to buy from them, but I have a more positive image of Japanese customer service than of French. It's not like they have to buy the dresses from AP Japan for retail and make a profit off of that. Shipping and taxes are not that much to justify the mark-up they do and other brands have the same pricing worldwide.
>>
>>9653058
>>9653152

If you want the costing side answer, generally a part of it is a currency buffer in case the exchange rate moves unfavourably. If an item is priced at 300 euros this week, but is at 250e when you finally decide you want to buy it next week, you'd be happy about that. But if the currency moved the other way and the item is now at 350 euros instead, most girls would bitch and moan and whine, (and yes, I can understand why they would, but that also means) AP Paris either loses a sale, or they keep the 300euroes pricing and take a 50e loss. So the better option is to convert the prices a little higher at the beginning, even if one buyer like you choses not to buy from AP Paris, at least they're not suddenly selling their whole entire stock below break-even point from doing nothing at all, just currency fluctuations.
>>
>>9653128
Step 1) be not ugly
Step 2) coord decently
Step 3) ???
Step 4) profit

people can't get you in your insecurities if you have nothing to be insecure about. if negative feedback bothers you a lot it's probably best not to post at all.

Just tell yourself that some random person you don't know not liking something isn't worth feeling bad about.
It's good to take note of some advice you might get (because you can always improve!), but if it's someone going on about how something about you is uggo or how they don't like your coord, just walk away. Remember you can't please everyone no matter what.
I consider myself as being pretty sensitive due to assburgers but I grew a thicker skin by going on 4chan since some years. Luckily they only said lipstick and fake eyelashes so i kept it in mind, however it was annoying seeing that one had had very weak coords and dresses i wouldnt be caught dead in (taobao qi lolita level and such). It made me not care so much. Maybe in your head assume that the extra mean ones arent "practicing lolitas" because theyre too fat and poor.

In daily/work life im a cry baby though.

German anon here, they charge a handling fee after 100 euros or something here.
>>
>>9650821
Where is the study it was based on? Not worth 32 euro, I preordered it so it was much cheaper.

Marking down doesn't work all the time, it's a gamble. They still might get your package and ask fpr a recipt, at least in germany.
>>

Paying the tax and handling fee is still cheaper for me than buying from AP Paris

I have a closet full of lolita after collecting for years, and I really need to sell off a lot of it that I never ended up wearing or isn't my style anymore.

I'd like to be able to sell overseas (I'm in the US) so I don't limit buyers. However, I've read horror stories about sellers getting scammed because paypal doesn't cover packages without tracking, which looks crazy expensive for shipping overseas. I haven't shipped anything overseas in several years, so I feel lost here. Advice?
>>
>>9653390
Don't sell to overseas buyers unless they agree to tracked shipping at whatever the cost is. Do things by the book if this is something that you're really concerned with.
>>
>>9653246
Tenso marks them down, but my customs office doesn’t care about that and requests the invoice.
>>9653267
Germany, it‘s about 30% if the order is above 150€ shipping included.
>>
>>9653274
In the netherlands you have to pay more than 21% if it’s above €150. So it becomes somthing like administrative fee + 21% + 12%
>>
>>9653390
If you buy your postage through Paypal, they automatically include a tracking number. even for overseas shipments.
>>
>>9653390
Eurofag here, fuck complainers, shipping is expensive and that is not your fault.
European shipping is just as expensive.
Do not send without tracking no matter how hard someone begs.
Also insure your packages to full amount, to protect yourself cause even if you did buy tracking, a lost package will still result in Paypal siding with the buyer, they will refund them at your cost.
>>
>>9653413
Well in my country shipping for a dress with Airmail incl. tracking costs 10€ and with DHL 16€. Not expensive in my opinion
>>
>>9653356
seconding.
Don't defend yourself, just let them say in any case (it'll only make things escalate further if you chime in to try and defend yourself, trust me, i did that years ago and i got torn a new asshole in the end). Concrit is alright but purely negative comments are to be dismissed.
Also, always keep in mind that the girls being extra mean are more than often salty due to their life or some shit (and sometimes they don't ever wear lolita or poorly, once again trust me,i've seen that with my own eyes)
>>
>>9653390
I'm a bit concerned about this too, last time I checked how much it would be to ship a dress to Europe with PayPal approved tracked shipping it was like $65. I didn't think anybody would want to pay that to ship a dress I was selling for $90 and might think I was trying to rip them off so I just limited my sales to US to avoid the hassle but then I still got a lot of PMs from people overseas.
Would it be a good idea to estimate shipping for a few countries in various regions in my listing so people would have an idea how much it would be before they PM me?
>>
>>9652799
This is honestly the best explanation of sweet lolita I've read
>>
>>9653190
Yes. Yes. Just like everyones a manager in the netidol thread. Kek.
>>
>>9653413
eurofag seconding
let us not forget about customs (god do i hate them)
>>
>>9653473
>$65
yeah I've bought quite a few things from the states and that just doesn't sound right at all unless you were shipping an incredibly heavy dress. I'm 100% sure that if you checked at a post office the cheapest tracked option would be half that.

And yes, that would be very helpful re: estimating prices
>>
Is there a cheaper knock off of Ista Mori's Nameless Poem? I saw one listing for it on amazon, should I be suspicious?
>>
Soo a Uniqlo opened in a city nearby, is there anything cute and/or loliable there? Is it worth going to?
>>
>>9653485
Yeah there is. Someone posted a review so check the archives
>>
>>9653488
Uniqlo sell normie clothes, the cutest things they might have are their cartoon collabs which may or may not be in stock in the store near you. The collab pieces are nice if you like Moomin stuff for daily wear but nothing loliable as far as I'm aware.
>>
>>9653485
Yes, To Alice or some other taobao shop created a knock off. An anon reviewed it and the review should be in the archives.

I would be wary of buying from Amazon. Ista Mori is re-releasing Nameless Poem, so you may as well order from them: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=559588042903&toSite=main
>>
>>9653488
Uniqlo has great thermal underwear if you're in a cold region, and they have things like berets and scarves that might be good for casual but they're not really a good place to find lolita stuff
>>
>>9653495
Did To Alice make an exact copy of it? That's... bad :( I didn't know they made replicas.
>>
>>9653401
>12%
Source?
>>
>>9653473
I think you and I are just overestimating shipping because those are the kinds of ridiculous prices I get when I input a phantom package's information into the website to get a price quote.

I really need to buy a scale.
>>
>>9653496
They do really nice casual skirts and 'skants' - wide legged trousers akin to culottes. They're super cheap and nice quality given the price. Not so much really that is loliable, but it's got cute stuff that has a casual Jfash vibe to it.
>>
>>9653485
Yes, there are several replicas of Nameless Poem floating around. If you're not paying about $80 USD for it first hand you're getting a fake.
>>
>>9650793
What do you think of fishnets with Lolita?
>>
>>9653488
Nothing loliable, but I like their basics and the fact that their jeans are all one length. You just get them hemmed in store, but in my case I need it as all my other jeans are too short. They also had a really cute flower pattern jean that I wear all the time to work. I wish I had bought more pairs.

Is there a cheaper option than Japonica to cheap to Europe (France and Germany)?
Japonica has this "500y per item" fee and it can get super fucking expensive (sometimes it's more than the actual product)
>>
>>9653594
Japonica has a sliding scale depending on the price of the item. Zenmarket has a cheaper fee (300).
>>
>>9653601
Oh,right! But I meant, for mercari and fril (sorry, forgot to precise)
>>
>>9653621
Japonica is cheapest then. There aren't many SS that do Mercari and Fril.
>>
>>9653375
Also, if it's marked down and the actual price on the receipe is way higher you'll have to pay an extra extra fee.
>>
>>9653198
Actually Forever 21 does do this. Prices are significantly higher in some countries.
>>
>>9653601
Maybe Chibi Tenshi or Luna‘s Delivery Service (at least Luna won‘t get stuck in customs in Germany).
>>
>>9653461
Shipping from America is 4x that. Most buyers don't want to pay it.
>>
>>9653082

I'm not talking about your coords either. I'm answering this comment

>whenever I look at CoF and coord help thread they want you to add more.

coord help thread answers requests for coords. The "you" in my comment refers to whoever is requesting coords, not you "you".

Besides, what you describe simply sounds like oversaturation. You fill up a blank folder pretty fast because everything is new, but after a couple of years you have maybe ten images of girls in pink x brown, so when yet another one comes along you don't save it because you already have 10 similar coords. Same reason girls who get into lolita will buy everything in a frenzy, then a year or two later say they're bored or lolita is dying because they no longer get that excited feeling when a brand releases a new dress, because they already have a wardrobe full of other dresses.

>>9651948

nayrt, but I think it's this:
https://zjy-lolita.taobao.com/
>>
>>9653358
After 150 actually and they include shipping into their calculations. Once you get over the 150 mark, you will have to pay 19% VAT and, in case of clothes, 12% custom fee, so in total 31% of what you originally paid.
>>
>>9653390
Eurofag here, so this logic might not apply to the US: if it's just one single dress or skirt, try to send it as a registered letter instead of parcel or package.
>>
>>9653773
Might depend on the office you go to, but at my customs office they usually just want to see some kind of proof that you paid and that can be a PayPal payment. When I go there to pick up stuff I ordered via any kind of service where shipping fee is invoiced separately, I'll just show the PayPal receipt for the item itself (you could probably also try with the receipt for only the shipping fees, but I'm afraid that might be too suspicious). I've also heard before that some people got through without paying at all by having a private seller pack and mark the item as a present and include a card that says happy birthday.

Don't know if this is the right place but I can't find another item identification thread: does anyone know what this victorian maiden dress is called? Couldn't find it on lolibrary.

>>9653488
Unpopular opinion perhaps but I have a 100% silk Uniqlo black blouse that I wear with corset skirts (under a jacket) and under JSK's that have a lot going on lace-wise, print-wise, ribbons, buttons etc around the straps and bust already, only if the main color is black too though (got it years ago, they're not selling it now). Apart from the rare neutral item that's in a nice enough material, there's nothing really loliable, definitely not the collaboration t-shirts, they're way too casual. If you're looking for normie clothes to work in an office or something they have really good quality basics for the prices, same for lounge wear and underwear.
>>
>>9653503
If you are a Dutch, this is all explained on the site of the belastingdienst at the douane part.
Above the €150 you have to pay tax 21% and import duties, the last one depends on the item, but it’s 12% for clothing.
Don’t know an English source, but this is what our government tells us.
>>
>>9653496
Seconding heattech, it’s not going to be as warm as something from patagonia or the like but it’s good enough and actually wearable underneath jfashion due to the thinness of the material. Their collaborations are worth keeping an eye on: e.g. the ines des la fressange collection had a nice casual/otome-ish dress at one point that can take a low poof petti and was also done up with french seams.
>>
>>9653942
austria here, it's exactly the same for us. the 12% + 21% seem to be an EU wide thing, whereas different countries can choose to add their own handling fees on top of that.
>>
>>9653621
I think momoirokumasan charges 400? But I'm not sure if she still does SS
>>
>>9653956
>>9653942
Why don't you mark it down?
>>
>>9653942
>>9653956
WTF I thought products were supposed to go from an EU country to another without any taxes and fees. Free trade agreements are all lies.
>>
>>9653963
i've only bought straight from wunderwelt and they don't mark down.

>>9653981
it is free inside the EU though. you only pay these fees when a package enters the EU from the outside, for example japan.
>>
>>9652915
My local comm would be screaming ita at that coord, "there's no brown on the dress so why is she wearing brown hat, hairtie and shoes?!?!"

I just want to see people try out more, wearing a colour that's not in the print is not a bad thing if you can balance it out otherwise. Also, in their opinion, solid colour dresses should be worn with same colour accessories only.
>>
>>9653928
try the what is that dress group on fb
