Rose Jail was my first AatP print and I still love it (especially in brown). What was yours?
>>

You a naawie fan, anon?

>>
>>9881707
A popular lolita on Instagram with very cohesive gothic coords who posted wearing Rose Jail a day or two ago
>>
>>9881675
Name of the Rose! I now own it in both the halterneck and skirt/vest cuts.
>tfw my favourite cut has always been the other jsk

Then no. The pics I posted are obviously re-releases and I think it's a bit weird to be someone's fan if they're just some rando on instagram
>>
>>9881717
That makes sense. I wondered because she's popular and posted hers very recently but it turns out you just have really great taste, anon!

tfw you're trying to gather accessories for a coord and NOTHING is fitting quite right. I never thought it would be so hard to find a brown bolero ...
>>
>>9881821
You just got a suggestion for a brown bolero in the coord thread that's fairly easy to come by.
>>
I'm sure if this is just me, but has anyone noticed an uptick in sellers requesting that paypal fees be paid by buyers?

I feel like every other LM listing has this in the sales description and ToS.
>>
>>9881855

>>
FYI this seller on lacemarket does "shemale" porn under the same moniker so buyer beware unless mysterious cumstains are a huge selling point for you.
>>
>>9881765
don't think so. you had to sign up somehow to become a contributor. it'd be a mess if anyone could upload photos, that's how stuff gets trolled.
>>
>>9881923
yeah, why would you assume the seller performs in their lolita? you sound like a jerk anon. I don't care who does what in their free time (as long as it's legal and doesn't hurt anyone). you have protections if an item arrives different from the listing but it's judgmental on another level to assume she'd be a jank seller.

pls shame scammers and scalpers instead of this personal bs
>>
>>9881855
Some seller recently tried to add this in and didn't even mention it in the description. It just showed up on the invoice. When I called her out on it she said it was normal and didn't mention it because "everybody knows buyers pay the fee so I didn't think to mention something everybody knows"
>>
>>9881932
but shouldn't everyone know that paypal fees aren't the buyer's responsibility?

i feel like this is known fact, why are so many people tacking it on?

So, Alice and the Pirates always outs out a "Halloween" print every year, right?
Did anyone keep track of the several prints? I feel like I'm missing some. So far I found

-Vampire Requiem (2009)
-Vampire Forest (2010)
-Vampire Prelude (2012)
-Merry Making in the Ghost Town (2013)
-Guilty Meltin Sweets Town (2014)
-Tricky Nightmare Factory (2015)
-Vampire Nocturne (2015)
-Rosy Night's Masquerade (2016)
-Secret Hospital (2017)
-Night of the Devil's Castle (2017)

For some I don't even remember which one was supposed to be the Halloween release.
>>
>>9882003
This is pissing me off so much, never happened to me until a month ago. Wonder why so many people are trying to scam again
>>
>>9882097
There's a few that I think are debatable halloween prints.

In 2007, they released Halloween Alice which I believe might have been one of their first "spooky" print release. I haven't found anything that fits the bill for 2008 so far. As for 2011, Black Cat, Witch and the Apple Tree would probably be considered their halloween print, and that year they also re-released vampire requiem. I believe it wasn't until 2009 that they began consistently producing spooky halloween prints.
>>
>>9882097
Is The Black Cat, the Witch and The Apple Tree Halloween?
>>
>>9882120
Ah, thanks! I didn't even think of Halloween Alice (when it's even in the name, duh). I was thinking about "Black Cat, Witch and the Apple Tree" as well, but I didn't know if this would qualify.
But I agree, some are definitely debatable. Secret Hospital probably doesn't count because it's a collab piece like Marionette in my closet room.
>>
>>9881675
Mine was Holiday of the Hulim Hulum Brass Band. I love it because you can make many different outfits with it.
>>
>>9881675
Pirate Alice Print JSK in Ivory. I was unsure about the brand when they first announced the split but ended up loving the dress and a ton of their subsequent releases. I still own it even though I don't wear it anymore.
>>
>>9881941
Yeah isn't she the same person who had that massive and oddly transphobic fight in the comments for the "Loki/Lolita" video post recently? I vaguely remember she's also posted about being extremely Catholic.
>>
>>9881675
Merrymaking in the Ghost Town. I sold it but am considering trying to pick it up again if I see it for the right price. I mostly go for Baby's Halloween releases now but the print was super cute.

Good. What are the chances it spurs them into releasing Neo Iron Gate? If they aren't going to cash in on demand for another Iron Gate lookalike, that just leaves replica-makers to make money from the demand for it.

People might try to claim that nothing's changed but the community has drastically dumbed down in recent years, especially when it comes to shit like this.

>>
>>9882870
The design is cute but I can see why people wouldn't necessarily pounce on it; the print colors are a bit unusual.
>>
>>9882697
None. The person who designed Iron Gate doesn't worth there anymore.
>>
>>9882707
Just buy them, they're not that expensive and Tulle vol 1 didn't get scanned either
>>
>>9882935

I know they don't have any designers at the moment, but when they get one, it's not unfeasible to think they could scan an existing skirt/old artwork and work on that, or simply make up a new gate that kinda sorta looks like the original.

Or heck, they could outsource a scan job to some art students and use that to screenprint. Then the only issue after that would be the lace quality.

It's not like I'm hoping for a direct re-release of Iron Gate, I said Neo Iron Gate. Heck I'd settle for Neo Royal Gate if it's not flocked. And the print is from like 12 years ago, what's another few years while they get their shit together, I can wait.

Would just be nice to know that they're going to attempt it and not just go "lel srry too bad but pls don't buy the replica support us by buying something other than what you really want from us".
>>
>>9883043
They might make another gate print, though they already did royal gate. But they're not assholes who would use artwork from someone that doesn't work for them anymore.
>>
People with over like 60 main pieces, how do you go about wearing them all? It's gonna take you months to wear one even if you wear a different one every day. Or is it like, I'm collecting this so I can wear it when I feel like it?
This isn't a dig, I've just started building my wardrobe this year and last year and I have about 8 main pieces and lots of blouses, skirts, waistcoats etc, and I struggle to give attention to all my dresses. I tend to wear my plainer ones when I'm working from home or relaxing so I'm not messing up my nicer dresses with like spaghetti or cleaning products etc, I find myself making up occasions to go out just so I can get dressed up lmao
>>
>>9883076
As someone with a lot of stuff, I do wear some more than others. Some of my dresses are very occasion heavy and don’t suit casual wear outside. But I also go to meets a ton and try to get themed meet ups going to utilize some dresses more.
>>
>>9883058
>But they're not assholes who would use artwork from someone that doesn't work for them anymore.
If the person was an employee of the company then the company completely owns the rights to the design. The company would not be an asshole for continuing to use the design.
>>
>>9883076
>>9883085
This is the same for me too. I have some dresses I haven’t worn in years because there isn’t a proper occasion to wear it, but I enjoy having it in my closet.
>>
>>9882707
I’m visiting Japan right now and just bought Tulle #2 and Le Panier, I could take some pics later. Nothing HQ until I get home on the 21st though. Haven’t been checking Lolita Updates since the day before I left but there was a new IW violin piece I hadn’t seen before and a JetJ butterfly dress that I’m decently sure is brand new. Interviews with Imai Kira, an AP model, and Maki + Asuka. Just skimmed them. I mostly pay attention to casual classic and gothic so I might have missed new sweet stuff.

Might as well ask on the side since I’m volunteering that, anyone know what kind of used store I might find GLB? Book Off or another chain? We’re staying in Harajuku but in Kyoto atm.
>>
>>9881750
That's not odd at all.
>>
>>9881978
That drama wasn't from old school era at all though.
>>
>>9883213
Funny though, when I saw OP's picture I thought "Why are we discussing some random dress from Lacemarket? Is it special?"
Only later I found out it's being rereleased and not related to the LM one at all.
>>
>>9882870
I desperately want it but the link in the email didn't work for me
>>
>>9883196
Is there a new MM release?
Book off is the only store I know of.
>>
>>9883076

I have way more than 60... and will admit there's a few dresses I haven't worn. Usually the fancy princess dresses are the hardest, I try to avoid them but I still own a few for the fancy hotel tea parties.

For the majority of them, though, I simply use most of them as non-lolita dresses. The coording is more towards soft lolita or otome style. 60 dresses isn't a lot when you're wearing a different dress every day.
>>
>>9881866
Why is it retarded if the buyer have to pay the PP fees anyway?

Also, Paypal doesn't have this rule to protect the buyers from uncertain fees, but because they want to earn money (the seller is not allowed to offer a cheaper price for payments with bank transfer or credit card, so that the buyer will choose Paypal more likely out of convenience)
>>
>>9883329
It’s still against the TOS since it’s an additional fee for paypal payments. As well as against LM TOS. Find another place to sell and another payment service if you want to scam people like that.
>>
>>9883093
Maybe it was a freelancer. Actually you can own the artwork even if you are an employee.
>>
>>9883328
>60 dresses isn't a lot when you're wearing a different dress every day.
Do you only wear something one time before washing it? Imo 60 days is a long time until you something. You only wear something twice a season?
>>
>>9883329
I've seen people on LM offer 4% discount if the buyer accepts different payment methods.
>>
>>9882437
I actually liked it. It did look better in person than in stock images. The cuts were not good though.
>>
>>9883076
I like planning new coords pretty often. If it's a good coord, I usually sit around the house for a few hours while wearing it. I might do this once or twice a day, maybe more. I don't go out much but I try to wear lolita when I do.

Are there any sweet lolita heels that are really comfortable? I don't have any orthopedic problems, I just get exhausted very quickly wearing a heel bigger than 1 inch, and flat tea parties make my legs look like stumpy hobbit legs.

Do some calf exercises. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and rise slowly onto the balls of your feet, then lower yourself back down slowly. Do this for 10 minutes a few times a day, or whenever you're waiting for the water to boil/dinner to cook/brushing your teeth.

Your legs should not hurt, nor should you feel tired in heels under 2.5 inches.

>>
>>9883649
>>9883670
to be fair, some people are just reallyyy not used to heels, so they struggle to be comfortable in literally any high heel. I agree with anon though, do calf exercises, and buy a low pair of heels and wear them round the house whenever you can. For me, I swear by insoles (in boots), a good fitting shoe and a high quality shoe. If a kitten heel shoe is well built, fits well, is cushioned, and you wear them in, then it shouldn't be uncomfortable at all. I don't wear anything over a few inches though because i find it uncomfortable.
>>
>>9883649
I like wearing platform shoes when I want to look leggier but need to be able to actually walk. I also suggest trying wedge heel shoes, as they tend to be easier to walk in as well.

Ah. Yes, tropical country, so one wear, one wash. There's not really a hygienic way around this, I could spend all day in an air-conditioned shopping mall or office, but I'd still sweat into the dress when walking to/from the car park. And when I get home and take a shower, I like to put on another dress. So most weeks I'd have worn 5-9 dresses that week.

The more dresses you have, the wear and tear is spread out over them, so 60 dresses is not really a lot. It's just two months of different dresses if you wear a different one every day, so you basically wear and wash it 6 times a year, which cuts down on wear and tear on the dresses.

The dresses do get uneven wear, though. The pastel AP lucky pack dresses are good for weekends, and then the weekdays are usually dark-coloured dresses or IW florals, then comfy cotton dresses for housewear. There's nothing stopping me from re-wearing a dress several times a month if I just feel like it. And like I said, I still keep a couple of fancy princess dresses that almost never get worn.

Ooh yes! I wanted Farutteto in black, so I'll consider.

What do you guys think of brand parasols/umbrellas? worth the investment? been looking for something elsewhere (off-brand) but it seems to be hit or miss quality-wise and for not a lot more I can be safe and get a brand parasol, but... I'm having trouble finding reviews. Looking at pictures in people's wardrobes only helps so much.
>>
>>9883974
Brand umbrellas have okay quality, for sun and light rain they are perfect, but they aren't that sturdy. You can find offbrand ones for the same price with higher quality. I can recommend Lisbeth Dahl, they are very sturdy
>>
>>9883974
Buy them secondhand.

Adding that it's worth the investment if you know you're going to use them. I live in a very sunny country and I'm sensitive to the sun, so parasols are a godsend, I never leave the house without one.
Like >>9884007 mentioned Lisbeth Dahl is a great loliable option, and I also like Lumiebre's designs.
>>
>>9883974
Not really worth it unless you want a specific design. I'm very happy with my Clifton Fifi Frill which I've had since 2010 and I have a Lisbeth Dahl one that I've had since 2012 with no issues. Obviously I don't take them out in high wind/storm situations and use a storm umbrella for those days, but our winters are fairly wet here and I wear lolita at least every fortnight, and more often in the wet since the temperatures are better.

>>
>>9884271
Can't tell you how much shit you'll get for it, but some people will be inevitably salty about it. If you can live with that then go for it. Imo it's fine as long as you don't try passing off the cosplay itself as lolita, and don't tag it as such either.
Some might still think you're implying lolita is cosplay by doing this, and will call you ita for it, but you can't please everyone.

TL;DRL: It's your dress, do what you want.

It's always funny to see fatties get triggered at japanese brands not wanting fat girls to wear (aka stretch) their stuff. Just deal with it and lose weight if you're that upset.
Also there are plenty other fashions for girls with a large chest, you shouldn't complain, you're privileged to have big boobs. This is one of the only thing that looks good on us, small chested girls, so let us have that.
The only thing I can agree on are the designs being repetitive sometimes. Using a shopping service isn't even that hard, are they actually retarded or lazy?
Also

AatP have released garters like these in the past; I don't know if they actually hold socks up, but I've seen them worn with ouji and they don't look too sexy. They remind me of men's sock garters more than anything, except much, much cuter.

>>
>>9884724

Hahahahahaha. Buy a Milanope lacemonster. Then try to wear lacemonster. When you tear it off your body while screaming about the itching you'll realise Meta's raschel lace is pretty good.

That's about all there is to the stigma of raschel lace. The cheapest knockoff shops use the crappy stiff plastic kind so it gave the whole lace type a bad rep, plus anyone who's ever gone near the cheap crappy plastic kind (eg sat next to an ita) will have this instinct to stay away from it now.

It's possible for walmart stuff to have decent lace, they're usually only using one line of it like somewhere on the bodice, so little lace won't be expensive, even if it's decent quality. Lolita will use lace on every hem, neckline, sleeves, in three lines down/across the skirt, across the bodice, on the bows, etc etc. So that's where it gets expensive and then the knockoffs try to use shitty crappy plastic lace to cut costs.

I'm thinking of leaving lolita because I just can't seem to find inspiration in it anymore. I love peoples outfits but it just doesn't feel very "me".
I have been struggling a lot mentally at the moment though, feel like I've lost myself and I definitely don't want to fully quit the fashion if I'm going to get out of this slump and want to start wearing it again.
Is there a way I could somehow re interest myself in it? What do you gulls do when you're going through a slump?

I look through the old glbs from when I first fell in love with it. it always makes me feel remotivated in the fashion. there is something about new lolita that bores me, but when I remember what got me into it in the first place, and start thinking of, and about, me and what makes me love lolita, that's when I feel myself getting back into it. it's not about other people to me, it's about how lolita makes ME look and feel to myself. I wear it because I want to wear it, because it makes me feel happy and cute and I love that.

- Slow down and take it easy. Every time I see a youtuber quit lolita it’s inevitably someone who went into it at 200% with fake lashes, wigs, vlog/blogs, the works. You can post less to social media or whatever activity is too much or isn’t making you happy anymore can be dropped. Wear a pretty dress on weekends with sandals and just enjoy the dress, or if that’s still too much, hang it up in your room and admire it.

- Branch out into other substyles/related fashion (otome/girly kei, soft lolita, “Korean office lady”, etc) Sometimes I see someone stuck in a “formula” look that works for them previously, but they no longer like it or they’re bored after a few years. Looking into related fashion helps you see how you can style your existing wardrobe in a different way in a way that better reflects you now.

- Pack everything up and mark a date a few months away. At the end of that date, evaluate again how you feel about lolita. I dealt with not having lolita just fine, but opened my box back up and fell right back in love with my old dresses. Ended up changing my style but kept most of my favorite dresses.

- If all else fails, consider downsizing to just your favorite dresses in complete coords. You can pack them away in vacuum bags so that they’ll always be there whenever you feel like coming back. Then get on with your life, know that the dresses will always be waiting if you want to wear them again. The way lolita is going, whatever you own will probably be a nostalgic “neo old school” in ten year’s time, so there’s no worry about being outdated.

An order from AP right before the site went kaput has already shipped and is almost here, but there's no charges on my card from it. Oh AP, get it together

I looked through the /cgl/ pastebin and most threads and couldn't find anything of the sort.
Is there some sort of pastebin that lists all the possible stores that sell secondhand/used dresses/goods? I know from memory when it comes to japan, mercari and yahoo auctions (dunno if there's more). But for anything else I have no idea other than maybe lacemarket.

I’ve noticed that I often start to feel this way when I’ve been spending a lot of time with the online communities, especially COF. Scrolling through COF I only like maybe one in twenty posts and end up thinking that this fashion just isn’t for me anymore. The way for me to rekindle my love for it is to step out of the online comms for a while and go back to my inspiration folder and older GLB’s like another anon said. Sometimes I put on some music that makes me feel nostalgic to when I first fell in love with lolita and go through my closet, putting together new coords. This has also helped me work out which pieces I truly love and which pieces I only bought out of hype or because I felt like I needed them at the time for whatever reason. Go back to your roots, but not necessarily to a specific time period. Just try to find what made you feel in love with lolita in the first place and focus on that.

recently picked up a cute blouse from 2006 and I'm a bit confused as to the best way to wear it. I know that sounds strange, but it's not the typical blouse that can be used for whatever purpose... it's... different, let me try to explain. It's actually a bit short, and seems to be designed to wear over clothing, rather than under jsks and such, much like this picture. (it's not this blouse though, and it actually ties at the waist... it's... different, but this style is the closest I can find on lolibrary to it's construction so far.

This is normal. Someone said they batch charge a lot of orders all at once, a few times a month.

The money's not available in your card despite not appearing on your statement anyway, they've put what's called a hold on your fund, it's already earmarked for AP until they charge it (or release it).
