I currently fit comfortably into the JetJ Size 1 dresses I own without stretching the fabric or anything but I'm very conscious of the fact that I'm almost at the maximum measurements and always worry whether size 1 will still fit. Also women in my family tend to gain weight as we get older. Should I buy Dragon-chan in size 1 to for me now or should I get size 2 so it's future-proof?

Normally I'd just get the Size 1 and sell if I outgrow it, but this is a DD that I intend to keep forever.

How do you deal with big feet? Not only in length, but also in width.

I've been trying to find shoes suitable for gothic or kuro sweet that are comfortable to wear and easy-going on your feet even after a couple hours of walking. Tried several different shoes from normie stores and thought only the length (about EU42-42) would be a problem for me. Only now, after almost a year of shoe hunting, it dawned on me that it's not necessarily the length, but actually the width of my feet that is giving me a hard time to find fitting shoes.

Customization would be the obvious answer, but I'm interested if there are any recommendable stores out there that do offer wide sizes in general? Are there any types of shoes that I should avoid to not make my duckfeet look even bigger?
>>
>>9960779
Get size 2, if anything taking in a dress if you end up not fully growing into it is easier than trying to get a small one larger
>>
>>9960772

How would you design/create an outfit that's j fashion but also evocative of a classy Hollywood-red carpet style? Any particular outfits/characters that give off this sorta vibe?
>>
>>9960779
Get the size 2.

>>9960785
Fluevog sometimes has shoes for wider feet, but their sizing is a nightmare as it varies wildly from shoe to shoe. As a person with wide feet as well, I would also reccomend Bait Footwear, Demonia, Chelsey Crew, and Poetic Licence / Irregular Choice. But the designs from IC don't always lend very well if you're looking for a plain black gothic shoe.

Sort of related - is there any room for BJDs on this board? Otherwise, where should I go? I just want to make cute little girls with cute dresses.
>>
>>9960907
Unless you're interested in brand related BJD try either /toy/ or /jp/
>>
If a skirt's label says it's machine washable but it's got a hard tulle layer, is it still safe to machine wash?
Pic related
>>
>>9960924
That skirt should be fine I've washed similar old AP pieces, wash it on cold/delicates though

Is Chocomint dead? Dreamy Bows and Lolita collective haven't restocked in ages, and it seems that closet child hasn't,either. Any Etsy brands that make quality replicas of the iconic dangling star clips?
>>
>>9960943
The closest items I can think of from a seller with 1,000+ sales is CuteParade. CuteParade's look closest to Chocomint's designs compared to other sellers on Etsy.

CuteParade (Click the 'Hair Accessories' section. It won't let me post the direct link because it thinks it's spam.)
>>
>>9960943
A. Gato designs makes those starclips, I don't know if they have them up right now but you can try messaging them
>>
Are there any SS’s out there that charge commission based on the entire order instead of per item? Japonica just hit me with a ¥3,000 fee for some small accessories.
>>
>>9960907

I'd stick to DoA honestly.

We've had jfash-related doll threads on here and they generally move so slow even posting bait doesn't make them go faster. They're also really slow on /toy/ and /jp/.

I mean you can still try, but DoA is the better option, especially BJDs.
>>
I've carefully handwashed a pretty old petticoat that hasn't been worn in a long time. Everything worked fine. My only problem is that it for some reason smelled really fishy while wet. The smell more or less disappeared once it dried. I still went ahead and rinsed it another time, just for it to smell all fishy again when wet. My question now is if there is anything I can to about the smell? I'm worried it will still be noticable when worn.
>>
How hard is it to walk in rocking horse shoes compared to heels/platforms? I wanna buy some but I'm afraid of breaking an ankle/falling to my death.
>>
>>9961044
For Fril and Mercari, I don't think so.
I had the same thing happen to me - I bought like 10 tiny under 500 yen accessories only for their commision fee to be around 5000 yen. I thought it was ridiculous, so I asked here in the past if there were any, and nobody seemed to know any.
I guess it's better just to buy 1-3 items and leave it at that with tenshi and japonica.
>>
>>9960785
size 9.5 ww with foot issues here. Cute shoes for jfashion are a struggle. Honestly, I like stuff from the normie brand Comfortview. You really have to shop them pretty regularly though, because 99.5% of their shoes are ugly old grandma shoes. But they sometimes get styles that will work, even if they're a little plain. I tend to accessorize with clip on shoe bows and decorations.
Duck feet are a curse.

recommendations for gothic lolita clunky stripper heels? brand and offbrand?

i know there's meta, pleaser, funtasma, etc. what do you gulls recommend?
>>
>>9961139

>>
>>9961273
Yosuke! Not much variety for Lolita (they have a ton of weird stuff) but the quality is quite good I think and they’re cheaper than meta’s heels.

Demonia, Iron Fist

hey gulls I'm a sweet/sweet ott lolita but i've been wanting to get into classic/old school lolita for a while. where's the best place to find items and find inspiration for it?
>>
>>9961374
>where's the best place to find items
The usual places. It helps if you have a feeling for what's old and what's newer. Some people on LM name their item as old school. For classic you can just search for classic brands.
>and find inspiration for it?
The usual places. Magazines, social media, pinterest etc
>>
I'm interested in buying some of the Fruits Magazines. I've found some on ebay from Japan, but are there any other Japanese sites I could look for them on? Are there any specific issues with Spank! In them or any certain issues you'd recommend in general?
>>
>>9961353
Both are shit quality glued pleather.
>>
>>9961665
They're better made than brand shoes and they're cute
>>
>>9961631
the first 50 issues are up on archive.org (check fruits appreciation thread for link) if you're interested. Ebay can be overpriced, if you want to buy more than one issue at a time you'd be better looking on yahoo auctions, but you'll need a shopping service. although if you want fairy kei i think kera would be a better magazine to check out.
>>
Is it worth getting stuff like tights secondhand? I'm getting my main pieces and blouses secondhand brand, but I'm wondering if it'll be better to get my tights, shoes, and accessories on Taobao as I do other hauls just because it's more accessible, and Idk how much quality differs for these parts.
>>
>>9961382
Anon is trying to use the term classic like baby does to mean oldschool inspired. I hate that shit, it's not like we didn't already have a classic lolita style or anything...
>>
>>9961716
It really depends on the item you're coordinating with. I would say for shoes, given that most brand shoes are pleather you'll probably be fine with Taobao (also the sizing may affect you if you don't fit generic S/M/L Jap sizing)
With accessories and tights it will really depend. Some items just look nicer with particular colour or print combinations, and you may not find the more generic taobao socks/tights to work well for that - for example, if you have a unique or unusual colour such as the AaTP "iris" and you want tights in that colour or you want a particular colour combo, like lavender x sax blue. The same goes for accessories - if you're not planning on neutrals some brand colours can be a bitch to match (AP lavender, AaTP iris, some of IWs weird beige stuff) and therefore it can be worth shopping for matching second hand accessories. The other thing would be less-common print motifs.

>>9961273
ROC if you want lace up boots, I have amazing leather boots from them. Otherwise, some of the older TUK styles were ok, Ellie shoes is a smaller brand and a competitor to Demonia/Pleaser, otherwise you can go for the generic taobao stores if desired.

>>9961125
Tried vinegar?
>>
>>9961716
I disagree with most anons on cgl. Japan has higher quality standards and stricter laws about product representation and liability.
Yes, most brand items aren't the best quality available, but you do get decent quality, original designs, and honest product representation. This constant assumption that brand shoes are poor quality makes me believe many anons don't even own them.
>>
>>9961752
The way I read it Anon is talking about buying pleather shoes second hand vs new from Taobao though, which is a different kettle of fish than new from brand. Pleather shoes don't tend to wear well no matter the brand.
>>
>>9961665
>so...like brand shoes then..
>>
>>9961665
if you're looking for high quality leather shoes, you're in the wrong fashion style
>>
>>9961759
Yes, but I still wouldn't buy them new from China over secondhand from Japan. You do have to hope the seller accurately represents the shoes, but I've found in general, they do. Just don't buy the extremely cheap ones as they are almost always on their last legs (like 1000 yen AP shoes). Secondhand is just better when buying pleather anyway because it's better for the environment to reuse than to create more.
>>

So I read on the facebook post from lolita updates that this wouldn't ship out until Dec - but that was from a site acting as an SS.

If I use a different SS like chibitenshi to buy directly from the RPA site, will it ship out faster? Or is this dress like an MTO where I would have to pre order and then wait a few months before shipment?

Is there a specific time and day Wunderwelt puts up new stuff on their lacemarket? I always end up missing everything worth buying.

What are some shops, Taobao or Japanese, where I can find super OTT headdresses that aren't bonnets or flat headdress?

They do custom designs, it changes every month it seems. This month it's the bow strap heel.

Also they did a version last month that allowed you to choose the type of heel (bead or cabriole leg). The benefit is they actually use leather whereas JetJ does not (probably for the unique colors). Are you after that specific design? It kinda looks like it's on their website.

I replaced the ribbon with elastic ribbon.
>>
I didn't get an answer in the last thread (I posted after the bump limit) so re-posting my stupid question:

I was told I can replace missing corset lacing but should use high quality ribbon. I have no idea where to find high quality ribbon, and don't want to go to Michael's since I assume it's just cheap stuff there. Can anyone recommend some online shops where I can find high-quality ribbon in a variety of colors? I'm looking for a kind of jade/emerald green, smooth/satin (non-grosgrain) ribbon to replace the one that's missing from a used coat I bought.

(also sorry if someone replied to me and I missed it before the other thread 404'd, I didn't check the old thread over the weekend).

So I've always wanted a military black hat to put with my more military styled coords, but whenever I see them secondhand they either sell out right away, are extremely expensive (like Walkure), or are overdesigned and covered in nonsense (like h.Naoto had some in their steam line). Do you guys have recommendations on where I could find one even if it isn't brand? Looking around online it looks like more generic ones are either lacking in nice structure or are covered in navy regalia and such. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places however.
>>
Oh god I'm so mortified...not the anon asking about Dragon-chan above luckily, but I'm someone else who ordered it and it just arrived today. I excitedly tried it on and tried a few coords, and I just realized at some point I got a little bit of makeup near the zipper from taking it off and on. I'm so mad at myself, I should have waited until I washed off my face for the day...

Trying to google how to get makeup/foundation off of velveteen only gets me generic stain advice. I normally use a little mix of dish soap and water to get my foundation out of other materials with no issue, would that be safe for velveteen with some gentle re-brushing to make sure it stays looking good? Or something else?
>>
Does anyone know how to wash this stupid thing? I took it to my dry cleaners, but it came back with a weird smell. I really don't want to go back there because their reputation isn't so hot anymore and now I know why. Is it possible to toss it into the washer on gentle
>>
>>9962987

The bolero, right?

- remove any detachable pieces. Place each item in its own laundry bag, make sure the bags are in good condition and there's nothing that will snag the knitting
- machine wash, COLD water only, use the delicates setting if you have it. I do not know what happens if you use hot water.
- dry it flat in the shade. I lay it flat across a drying rack indoors. Do not leave it in sunlight. Do not hang it, the water weight will distort the shape.
- If you must tumble dry it, you can do it on no-heat setting.

For the skirt, same rules except you can hang it up to dry.

It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it, the list of things to avoid is longer than the actual list of actions.
>>
>>9962477

Depends on how far you're willing to go.

Ultimate: The brand that makes most of burando ribbons (most, not all) is Shindo.com, you can browse their catalogue at https://sic.shindo.com/ then hop over to Rakuten and pop in the exact item code number of the ribbon you're looking to replace, and buy it from one of the retailers there. Or pop in "shindo リボン" if you want to start at Rakuten itself and wade through ribbons. It's ultimate-tier because before you even ship it the ribbon that matches rucksack-sized Usakumya's ear bows are fucking $30 per meter (but it's an exact match to Usakumya's ear bows).

As for the rest, you can search eBay or online shops with the right terms -- using the term "double-sided" will weed out most of the flimsy wrapping ribbons that you can't use, "Matte" will give you the cotton finish ribbons. I've found that "double-sided satin ribbon" to be a bit of a gamble, though. Sometimes it comes as a dull satin finish but other times it's very shiny and weird-looking. The other ribbon that looks like grosgrain but has scalloped edges is called petersham ribbon.

Alternatively, you can also trawl taobao shops for "Korean ribbon", the shops selling materials for hair accessories DIY tend to have a huge variety of different ribbon finishes, a lot of which look pretty good even if you can find the exact one that matches the ribbon you want to replace.
>>
>>9962992
Oh yeah I meant the bolero. I should have specified in the post, but thanks for your help!
>>
>>9963046

No worries. Forgot to mention in >>9962992 -- use a gentle detergent and no fabric softener as well.
>>
Are brand bloomers worth the money?
>>
>>9963082
This depends on personal opinion, I find. You can buy bloomers from indie brands or make them yourself if you have basic sewing skills and that's perfectly fine, but I own several brand bloomers that I absolutely love, a lot more than any non-brand pair that I've had.
If you're new I suggest you buy at least one pair that's more affordable, see if you like wearing them before you drop more considerable amounts on anything more expensive.
>>
>>9963082

I started with Bodyline bloomers and they rustled like crazy. Brand bloomers were so much quieter and so much softer to boot. So sometimes they have the look down, and you wouldn't know what you were missing until you got some brand ones to compare with.

But I bet there's a nice indie or homemade or taobao brand out there that can make something in between, not as expensive and not as nice but still comfy and cute. I guess it does depend on what you consider "good enough" to be worth spending money on and what kind of extra quality is "too much" to be worth the extra money, though.
>>
>>9962062

I've heard some people pin them from the inside of the socks. You do end up putting pins in through the leg straps though.
>>
>>9963082
Brand bloomers are not that expensive. You can often get them tax free and sometimes on sale. It just depends on how cute you want to feel and what fabric and lace you prefer.
>>
>>9962062
You can put sock glue on your knee-highs

Not exactly j-fashion as such, but I figure this is the best place to ask - has anyone bought from CCs Vivienne Westwood store? Do you know how rigorous they are in checking that the stuff they sell isn't fake? I've gotten the impression that fakes aren't as prevalent on the Japanese market as they are in the west, but I'm always super nervous when buying VW because I don't want to end up with something that isn't the genuine article.
>>
>>9962657
seconded, please! also anon, are you me?

I stalk all my local thrift and antique stores, military consignment ones don't really suit since they're too big and not kawaii enough

>>9963111
By CC do you mean closetchild? I think a lot of wunderwelt and closetchild's stock is often unwanted items, bought directly off the brands themselves. You should be fine buying from them, what makes that particular brand different from the other high-end designers they sell like alice auaa or jean paul gaultier? What you're talking about is a very illegal business practice, I'm sure they'd be thorough.
>>
>>9963124
Yeah, I meant closetchild. I assumed it was just normal second-hand stuff, not unwanted stock from the brands. A lot of VW fakes are apparently pretty convincing, so I figured they might have accepted some by mistake when taking in a batch of secondhand items or something. VW is pretty much the only brand I buy that isn't lolita and I know there's a lot of crap on the western secondhand market being passed off as VW, hence the nervousness.
>>
>>9963111
>>9963129

I've seen the actual store (the one off Takeshita Doori), also bought a Gaultier bag off CC online. It's secondhand goods, the condition of the items can be pretty wide and varied. Some of the RHS were in pristine condition and some looked like on their last legs.

I think they do check their items with the same care the lolita side of CC does, but if the fakes are that good it might just slip past them anyhow. Sorry it doesn't put your fears to rest. It's just part and parcel of buying these things secondhand, unfortunately.
>>
>>9962062
I've heard carpet tape works for thigh highs, might work for this too
>>
>>9963082
If you want peeking bloomers for oldschool, 100% go with brand because of lace quality. If they're not going to show, it's just up to personal preference. I like brand ones anyway because it feels more "complete," but there's nothing wrong with getting them elsewhere. Just make sure to get ones that can hold up to frequent washing.
>>
Booties can work for classic coords so long as the color matches right? I'm trying to find higher quality offbrand shoes than deal with PU and pleather.
>>
>>9963418
The design should work with the overall aesthetic too, not just the color. While classic is easier to shop for in non-lolita sources, not everything works with it. I see lolitas wearing normie shoes with classic all too often and it looks like shit so be careful. Iirc Oak Tree Farms should have shorter Victorian style boots that are perfect for classic, if you're looking for a good pair in leather.

I think you'll benefit more from doing more research to understand the lolita aesthetic better, than having a mentor. The latter can help but you don't need someone to hold your hand to see that the shoes you considered vs pic related are very different aesthetically, and one of them works with lolita while the other clearly doesn't.

I bought a veil with cotton embroidery to go with a coord, but when it arrived it was white instead of ivory. It doesn't fit my coord. How hard is tea-dyeing and could it help?
>>
>>9963485
Have you looked at pictures of the fashion that inspire you? There are all sorts of styles in lolita, classic itself can have many different forms and influences. Look at pictures of lolitas whose style you admire, hell even watch some period dramas for more style inspiration, try to recognize what elements (cuts, shapes, textures, even colors) that you enjoy and then try to find these elements within lolita. It's less complicated than it sounds.
I suggest you try looking at it as a fun learning experience than a challenge, the concern of looking ita may do the opposite of what you want it to and at the end of the day you should want to have fun in this fashion.
>>
>>9961962
Super Groupies did shoes with a very similar heel too.
>>
>>9963489
I tea dyed a headdress - it was a weird shade of white and matched nothing in my wardrobe. Is the veil polyester? If it is, the embroidery will hold the color better and dye faster, therefore will be darker than the rest of the veil no matter what you dye it with. Otherwise I’d suggest getting a small piece of similar fabric and trying it out on that first to figure out how strong you need to brew the tea and how long you’ll have to keep the veil in to achieve the desired color. There’s really no exact formula for this, unfortunately. Try to use black loose leaf tea - there’s less dust and smaller particles in it. Also, tea shows up as a much warmer shade of cream compared to coffee, almost has a red undertone to it.
>>
Is it weird for a blouse to be a different material than a dress or skirt? Like a chiffon blouse and cotton main piece?
>>
>>9963670
It depends on the materials, i.e. chiffon and cotton is fine, cotton and velvet is also fine, but chiffon and velvet look a bit odd together unless the main piece also features chiffon to balance it out.

Is closet child really going to charge me 81 dollars in shipping for a $265 EMS order? I didn't expect it to below 50 but since everyone has said it's been reasonable I didn't think it'd be 1/3 of my order. Is epacket worth saving the money for? I've never lost a package, but they almost always come super beat up and the lack of insurance worries me.
>>
>>9963702
It’s a weight thing usually
>>
>>9963702
It's definitely a weight thing, what did you order? I just ordered stuff that totalled ¥23600 and my shipping was only ¥935 since it was light items and I could do e-packet. Did you buy a bunch of shoes or something?

In a good bit of news for you, their initial shipping request is based on average weights for your general item catagory (that are probably a bit conservatively high I bet so they don't lose money). One time they charged me about $50 for shipping but later gave me about $20 back because the difference between the initial estimated weight and final weight was very different. So if they overestimated how heavy your stuff is you might get a partial refund.
>>
>>9963702
This is what I paid on my last japonica order on an order about the same price, it's just an international shipping thing
>>
>>9963512
I'm not sure what the veil is made of. I only need it to be a couple of tones darker, sounds like coffee might work better than tea?
>>
>>9963705
>>9963709
>>9963710
It's 4 cutsews, 1 blouse, 4 lolita skirts, 2 cropped lightweight cardigans, and two dresses with barely enough room for an oldschool era petticoat. No velvet or any especially heavy fabrics, but none of them are super lightweight like chiffon eiither. They did say insurance factored into shipping too. But fuck it, I'm getting super anxious about items getting sold out so maybe I'll just go with epacket. Does anyone have any horror stories to convince me not to? I'm in the Us.
>>
>>9963718
I don't know if that would be acceptable for the weight limits of e-packet (unless I'm mixing up my Japanese post types), you can try to ask for it and put in the comments that they can switch to EMS if your stuff is too heavy.

Honestly that shipping sounds kind of right - I could see it ending up being more towards ¥5000-6000 and then giving you the partial refund but that's a decent amount of stuff.

My stuff for ¥935 shipped was two pieces of jewelry and a blouse, so it's not the most comparable unfortunately.
>>
>>9963723
And oof didn't say, my refund scenario I had in the past had a capelet, a vest, wristcuffs, a blouse, and a pair of tights, maybe a smidge more, so it was likely a volume of stuff that made the initial shipping estimate high but they turned out to be lighter items.
>>
>>9963723
That's really helpful anon, thanks. Either I save $50 or I spend more and get full insurance.
>>

I love Putumayo and also Algonquins. Dear my love (dreamv) has put out some loliable stuff in the past. Mercator has an option where you can search miniskirts as well and t-shirts so you can try Alice and the pirates. Listen flavor is also amazing. ACDC RAG also has a few nice items on the cheap side.
>>
>>9963948
Mercari. I have no idea what a Mercator is, wow.
Good luck shopping anon.
>>
>>9963732

What kind of update and what mail though.

In general tracking should be useable within the week, no matter EMS or airmail or what. Most post offices show the time when the package was scanned in, so if the number isn't even useable then generally the sender hasn't even gotten it to the post office yet.

EMS just arrives faster, while airmail might show the parcel sitting in an airport for a few days because the planes/trains/etc are too full to accept your package and you paid the cheaper fare so it has to wait for another plane while the EMS packages get priority. So if it's airmail/chinese mail/anything other than straight up EMS then it's gonna sit around in various depots and postal stations a fair bit.

If the tracking stops at the boundary of a country, eg it has left the sender's country but is in limbo, then one of two things has happened -- either the package got a new tracking number (if you use track-trace.com/post it will automatically show the new tracking number for a lot of countries) because the package switched to a different country's postal service, or customs is sitting on a huge pile of packages and yours is in (a very slow) line waiting to be processed.
>>

Ironically enough Mercator means "market".
>>
>>9963936
Try having a look through old Kera magazines if you want styling ideas, but imo Putumayo, Sheglit, Miho Matsuda, Ozz Onn,Sex Pot Revenge and a good look through the Gothic and Punk sections of Closet Child might be helpful to give you more ideas.

I feel stupid for asking. How do you guys get comfortable wearing Jfashion?

I use to wear alternative and goth clothing as a teenager, got interested in Jfashion then went through a period of wearing normal clothing. A couple years ago I got interested in fashion again and started buying Jfashion items again - sweet lolita and Spank!/fairy kei type stuff. I'm naturally shy but that never stopped me from wearing what I wanted in the past. Now I feel embarrassed over the smallest things like a pink purse or furry scarf. Maybe it's because I'm in my twenties now and feel like people will take it the wrong way if I'm in less mature feminine clothing. Any advice?
>>
>>9964193
I don't think your age has anything to do with it, you're just too self conscious for no real reason. People don't care about you this much. And I'm not saying this to be mean - People are focused on themselves, not on whatever some person on the street might be wearing.
I'd suggest starting off with incorporating a bit of pastels into your daily wear to get used to it but apparently you're too self conscious for that too so I don't know what to suggest beyond just wearing your clothes and facing your fears.
>people will take it the wrong way
What wrong way would that be?
>>
>>9964193
>Maybe it's because I'm in my twenties now and feel like people will take it the wrong way if I'm in less mature feminine clothing. Any advice?

Don't wear sweet lolita or fairy kei if you're going to be embarrassed by a pink purse. Especially if you're concerned about it being less mature. You seem too insecure and concerned about others who really don't care what you wear.

Washing with baking soda removes stains and is very gentle on your clothes. I've heard good things about oxyclean too, but I don't know how gentle it is. Baking soda has been enough for all the yellowing blouses that I've received so far

Does anyone own pic related? I just got it, and the white parts of the print were ivory/off white rather than white as I expected. A question for Moitiefags: Are their measurements generally consistent? I own one of their blouses from 2005 and it fits me perfectly and looking to buy another one, but I'm hesitant to drop any amount of money on a garment that might not fit me well.

>>
>>9964193
Your family and friends will understand if they care about you and it makes you happy. Why would you care about opinions of other random people? Even if you dressed as the norm people would still make assumptions about you and think nasty things. I used to be really concerned about it but as lolita grew more important to me I realised what random people think about my clothing doesn't matter more than anything else they think and slowly I stopped caring. In the end if you give something up because other people don't think it's normal or whatever you are the only person loosing something. I admit because I wear lolita daily many people fail to see me as a person and are weirded out by me and it affects some of my social contacts. I know some of them could be fun to be around otherwise but I have chosen lolita instead of people who judge others by their looks so heavily. My recommendation is to think why you love j-fashion and if giving it up because of others is worth it.

Neo Gothic arch was like that last year as well. If you checked archives it was mentioned that the op was super roomy then. The sizing is consistent from that release to this one on that. Also note the measurements were up to 100 cm bust.

You only have yourself to blame there.
>>
>>9966918
Anon I was talking about the JSK, which I couldn't find any sizing info on in the archives. And even though it's consistent with the first release, the measurements are still listed inaccurately. Which was the point I was trying to make.

What kind of earrings do you wear with lolita? Sweet lolita, specifically?
>>
>>9967163
Depending on which method you chose. I live in Northern Europe and the ePacket takes generally 3-4 days reach my country and extra 2-3 days to reach me. EMS is rarely quicker but my country's postal services handles them faster once it has arrived here. EMS has guaranteed delivery times though where as ePacket doesn't.

abilletage's nonprint pieces sometimes have the same feel. I haven't been able to find any brands that do corset skirts with steel boning like excentrique used to do though. Basic research, anon. Anyway, look at secondhand sites, Closet Child and Wunderwelt stock many nice blouses and cutsews, for example.
>>
>>9967304
Sorry I should have probably put this in the first question, but for someone whos 5'9 and quite bulky. I've looked through Closet Child for a shirred blouse but no dice, I'll continue looking though!
>>
>>9967306
Baby typically has full shirred blouses so you should keep an eye out for those, and if you're into old school, MAM has some blouses that you might like and they offer larger sizing too.
>>
>>9967300
You can also get blouses really cheap on Mercari and Fril if you're fast enough and patient. I feel like almost every day I see blouses below ¥4000, though of course you have to factor in SS fees and international shipping.

I don't know exactly how bulky you are, but IW has a new cheaper label called IW White on their website, all below ¥10000 and they're still nice despite the lower price. They just don't have as many details as their more expensive ones. I own the ¥6900 jabot blouse and it's really nice, easily as nice feeling as my other IW blouses, just simple.

You just have to keep an eye out with WW and CC and check daily. Blouses tend to sell out super fast if they're not hideous or overpriced.
>>
>>9967300
I'd suggest Taobao. They have a wide variety and great prices. I would buy brand main pieces and everything else and get nice toaobao blouses.
They only thing about Taobao blouses is they are more new style. If you want the nice old school kind then yeah you gotta go for brand. AP and Meta have ones that are pretty accommodating, though you really have to search through the AP ones to find the larger ones.

Whatever type of petticoats you use, they should be roughly the same length as your dress including underskirt. A few inches aren't going to make a difference, but the person in the picture has what looks like at least a foot between the bottom of the petticoat and the bottom of the underskirt. Some underskirts have layers of poof built-in near the bottom so as to avoid this effect.

>Whatever type of petticoats you use, they should be roughly the same length as your dress
That's incorrect, unless you mean that a difference of about 2" falls under "roughly the same length".
>>
>>9968409
Make sure your petticoat is long enough and more A-line shaped. This ugly shape is often the consequence of too much poof too high up.

The soles came off the bottom of my btssb shoes and I don't know what kind of glue I should use to fix them? Or should I go straight to a cobbler?
>>
>>9969292
there's special shoe glue for them, if they're platforms id both glue+nail them down though
>>
>>9969294
I didn't think of using nails. Is there a method to doing it?
>>
Have Moitie's sizes changed over the years? One of my dream dresses has come up on a Japanese site and after checking again, I'm confused over the measurements. It's listed as size 2 but lolibrary gives the Size 2 measurements as around the same as modern Size 1. It also doesn't mention there being a Size 1 at all. I do fit the listed measurements, I'm just confused why they're like this.
>>
>>9969306
Glue the sole on with shoe glue first, then drill holes from the insoles and screw the nails in. Here's a video showing it though it's for foam demonia platforms so I don't know if its safe on wood if yours are wood. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oGGMh6JUoP0

If they're soft/rubbery soles like boot soles and low enough you could also get a cobbler to stitch them on to last longer.

Make a bodyline account so you get emails whenever they have sales. I refuse to pay full price for bodyline too, but recently they had half off the whole site which was great for stocking up. Also, wunderwelt, closet child, etc. Anna House still exists and used to be my go-to for blouses but I haven't bought from them in years so idk about that.

Has anyone experienced delays when ordering with WunderWelt recently?

I know there's been Obon festival interruptions, but my package (e-packet) was dispatched from their customs back on August 8th and it hasn't reached the US yet. Being on the West Coast (the US), it usually gets here super fast, like 2 or 3 days.

I wasn't really worried until I saw that my package from ClosetChild (also e-packet) was dispatched a day later, yet has already arrived in the US.

I'm kinda of wondering when I should start freaking out or considering the package lost? When is "too long" for an e-packet? Help.
>>
>>9969448
I think there's a problem with wunderwelt because it's been 10 days since I ordered a package (also e packet) from them, and it's been stuck at New York customs for a week. It usually arrives in around 5 days for me (Florida)
>>
>>9969467
I wish my package was at least in the US. Blegh.
I'm in California and I live very close to SF.

I always go with e-packet because I don't mind waiting, but this is so unusual and makes me sad. If my package is lost, I'm out about $140. EMS always annoys me because the post office doesn't hold it as long if you miss the delivery day, since it is seen as expedited mail.

No luck with the iron. Guess it's time to try starch.
Thanks for the help anon
>>
>>9968976
Yes, that's what I meant. As compared to something that is a foot too short. I hope we all know by now not to wear a petticoat that is longer than your skirt.

How come burando prices are cheaper in-store than online purchases? Whenever I've looked at tags from my btssb dresses I'll see them be like 4,000 yen cheaper than what's listed online?

I bought two blouses from CC and have a similar problem. Order got sent out quite fast (also e-packet) and arrived at Frankfurt customs about 3 days later. It's been stuck there for 11 days now and I don't know why. Are customs understaffed because of summer holidays?
>>
Any US anons have experience with paying customs duties on brand? I have a package coming with about 200k JPY worth of stuff that I can't mark down because I'd like to get it insured. I've tried to use a bunch of duty calculators, but I can't decide which HTS code to use for a brand dress set (synthetic fiber). Also, the duty calculators don't seem to be set up to calculate duties for dresses for some reason.

I'm 5'8" and there's a lot of baby blouses that fit me just right, you just have to check the measurements more than average height girl would do.
>>
>>9969586
The tag price doesn’t include tax (8%)
>>

I usually don't worry too much about how long an item takes in customs. Customs seems to be the most inconsistent in terms of time.

That's why I'm worried though. My package hasn't even made it to customs. I have no idea if it's in Japan or the US. It might be sitting in a corner somewhere, waiting for a plane?

Are there any SS located in Osaka willing to do instore pickup? Everyone I’ve found so far is Tokyo based.
>>
What are some good, reputable resellers of Lief stuff?
>>
I'm looking into natural kei. Outside of Japanese brands is there any taobao brands that are any good?
>>
do you need a ss for buy from closetchild or wunderwelt? i'm quite confused.
>>
>>9969654
Both Lolita Collective and Lolitabutiken are reputable but they don't seem to have any new stock.

>>9969741
No. Wunderwelt is the easiest, you just set it to English and check out like a normal site. CC doesn't gave an English site but they do have a simple cart system and instructions for ordering from overseas. Sounds like you got overwhelmed and didn't look through the sites carefully enough. Take a deep breath, then go back and look again.
>>
>>9969743
oh, thank goodness. i might have panicked by seeing the prices in yen on the two sites.
>>
>>9969662
Oh I asked a similar question not long back and someone recommended Miss Point. I also found FEE-Cafe which seems promising.
>>
>>9969745
Akane and Alois is pretty good too if you prefer a more Anne of Green Gables sort of look.

Armydump stores. They have some without insignias as well, depending which armies they could get stuff from. Maybe call them in front if you need to travel a lot.
>>
>>9964432
They don't crop of the store names of the images, and they post a name, if needed translated (for Chinese names). It's a quick google and you got it.

Beside what >>9964487 said, there are more reasons. Like a lot of updates come from Weibo, QQchat, WeChat, etc. It's not all TaoBao. It was first 1 girl, now 3 girls runnign the FB page. Searching store page for so many updates would be undoable lot of work. They used to post them if asked, but stopped since becoming an SS, which they did on request of people. I think they are really nice tho. Used them once as SS.

They explained it here after the drama, the drama post itself seems removed. 4chan won't let me put in a link, but paste this behind the facebook dot com and you should get the full story.

You can have extreme poof. But what you really just need to do it get a petticoat or hoopskirt that is the right length. Also no need for a-line. A-line is for a-line skirts, cupcake for cupcake skirts, nothing to do with lentgh.

Look at pic related. Top is a 60cm petticoat for tea length dresses, bottom a 45cm petticoat for knee length dresses.
>>
>>9968973
They cost 3-5 euro on TaoBao. Order them with your next haul, as the shipping is a bit too expansive on one item imho.

Where can I buy comfortable RHS?
>>
is it possible to wear Gothic otome style?
>>
>>9970330
"Otome" is just girly style, I don't think gothic falls under this definition (even though gothic can be feminine too), though I could be wrong. You can definitely wear toned down, feminine, gothic coords though. Very easily so, actually.
>>
>>9967985
It's highly sought after because of its designer and it's still relatively new. As a result the pool of clothes available 2nd hand is much smaller than with comparable brands like ETC, so the people who really want it will spend more.

I'm aware of this. My zipcode is not listed.

Even if it were, it wouldn't explain why my CC order, which shipped later than the WW order, is already past US customs and about a day away from being delivered (also e-packet).
>>
>>9969654

Wunderwelt and Atelier Pierrot both carry new Lief releases. I haven't done a preorder with them and don't know how it works, though.
>>
Is there any way to fix elastic having been stretched out? I got a new dress recently and the previous owner has stretched it so that it's massive. Is there any hope?
>>
>>9970624
you can take out the old elastic re stitch the shirring if you have experience
>>
>>9970347
Thanks, anon! I'll read more about it!
>>
>>9970584
For preorders, you just email them directly with your order details, assuming you don't live in Korea.
>>9970624
A good seamstress will do it, if you can find one where you are.
>>
Does KeraShop ship outside Japan?
>>
What is the average underbust measurement for dresses without shirring? Mainly interested in Moitie and Boz.
>>
>>9971167
No idea, but my underbust is 70 cm and I have never had any trouble fitting either brand
