This, I'd love to rewatch this show to make fun of it.It had some weird shit, like the episode where the school becomes ruled over by the crazy kid in their class and the main character makes egg salad and saves the school somehow.
>>
>>101087268
also the main villain (whose dad is a Walt Disney esque animator who created the cartoons Jimmy sees) lives in their house and openly talks about killing Jimmy and taking his brain
also he talk to a bag of Money who is his best friend/lover

>>

I don't remember this, was that from the Halloween episode that was in 3D for some reason?
>>
Anyone remember that boys vs girls episode that took a turn for the stupid?
>>
>>101087405
>>101087457

Actual answer: It was a brain transplant but they kept the kid's "personality gland".
>>
>>101088818
Was that the episode where the girls had a slumber party and we're mad at the boys for some reason?
>>
>>101088987
That's the one. The alien sister had a nasty breakup with her boyfriend and they hold him hostage at their house.
>>
>>101088164
Get rid of the brain transplant, whole show is a setting where humans and toons interact. The kid wants to be a cartoon director, and most episodes end with a short "movie" by him and his toon friends. So, Roger Rabbit + Home Movies.

It was really fucking weird anon, the crazy kid would mention voices in his head from time to time. The egg salad scene was stuck in my mind for years, the crazy kid is on a monitor yelling at the main character while he's making egg salad. When the egg salad is done the crazy kid freaks out and the school applauds.

I remember that episode.
It was about a kid that dug up dirt on the guidance counselor, who was the MC's dad, and blackmailed him to gain control of the school. How the guidance counselor did that I don't know.
Anyway, the egg salad thing was because the kid earlier in the epidoe banned egg salad at the school because he didn't like it. In the end, the MC exposes him and decides to make egg salad just to rub it in, which for some reason everyone else treats as the thing that finally beat the crazy kid. Shit was weird as fuck.

His last role was actually on ER in 2009.
>>
>>101092402
Dominic Janes, the main character, hasn’t acted since 2009, Rea Lando, the alien sister, hasn’t done anything but a short since 2010. Bil Dwyer, the dad, is still acting. His latest role is in a TV movie called Olde News. Matt Knudsen, the villain, is still currently acting. His latest role was the dad in an episode of The Kominsky Method. Tinashe Kachingwe, the love interest, is still currently acting, and is also a popular recording artist. She last starred in Empire in 2017, and a popular song, 2 On featuring ScHoolboy Q in 2014, which hit 24 on the Billboard Hot 100. Jon Kent Ethrige, the black friend, hasn’t done any acting since 2010.

I thought the concept was pretty cool, cartoon characters in a real life setting. Almost sort of like a reverse Roger Rabbit. The show's writing however was complete doo doo and could have been much more better.

Maybe for public access or something, but not a network that had loads of preexisting decent-quality shows. >>101099728
I’ll always remember when CN visited SCAD for their internship program and discussed their content at the time, which included all their live action shows.
They told us all that the reason they were doing this was because they learned that kids identify with real people more than cartoons. I’m sure the Disney and Nick’s tweencoms being ratings phenomenons were the real culprits and CN wanted a piece of that. Live action is cheaper than animation after all.

Fortunately, to no matter how hard they pushed it, CN Real didn’t catch on with the kids.

I never understood this. Does it mean that whenever a park guest sustains a grave injury, park goes out of its way to provide every organ available?

You had to bring that shit back from the grave, I almost forgot that shit existed.

Fuck you anon, fuck you.
>>
I vaguely remember that show, there was a scientist (a son of the not-disney?) that wanted to get that brain, the alien step-sis was dating a werewolf and at least one cartoon suddenly vanished halway up the season with no explanation
>>
>>101101354
not that I wanted it to succeed but I feel like it would have at least had not so many detractors if their idea of live-action wasn't "let's rip off popular live-action shows that kids can probably watch anyways"
>>
>>101101354
>Fortunately, to no matter how hard they pushed it, CN Real didn’t catch on with the kids.

Kids escaped from live action by going to CN to watch fucking cartoons.

Of all the things México was the first one to get rid of CN real because every Mexican under the sun hated it, they tried to keep la CQ airing but had the lowest ratings in history, that shit kept airing only because Televisa pressured the executive board to keep it on air for so long trying to make it catch on.

If there is something Mexican audiences know is to speak with their wallets, and despite the fact that our taste is shit we still treat cartoons/anime as a sacred thing that no one fucks with.

That was always my biggest complaint, why would I want to watch a show about surviving or kids recording in a haunted house? I already knew they were ripoffs and never went out my way to watch those original shows. That was why Dude, what would happen? & Destroy, build, destroy lasted for years after CN real stopped existing. I remember the roller coaster show Brain Rush seemed interesting but that was one of the first on the chopping block.

Tim McKeon, the co-creator of OOJH, went on to create "Odd Squad". >>
>>101110197
I see what you mean, anon. The show being weird just for the sake of being weird isn't enough to carry the show. So now I agree.

If "Out of Jimmy's Head" was a well-written show, with good characters, it could have worked as a short film or mini-series. Instead they took what could have been a fun idea and ruined it.

>>101110637
22 here, late Y easy. I basically stopped watching tv completely once CN Real came around

Interesting. If you stayed up to see those last episodes of yyh at 4am that most people didn't see, you're definitely a true blue-blooded Late Millennial.

YYH was like my second favorite anime after DBZ when I was a kid so I wanted to make sure I caught the ending. I also made sure to stay up long enough to catch Saturday morning shows like Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh, Ultimate Muscle, and TMNT. During that period I was also reading the American Monthly Shonen Jump magazines so I knew about Naruto, One Piece, Bleach etc. before they started airing on American television. I didn't expect to feel this much nostalgia in an Out of Jimmy's Head thread.
>>
>>101111501
>I didn't expect to feel this much nostalgia in an Out of Jimmy's Head thread.
Well tbf, Out of Jimmy's Head isn't making you feel nostalgia for Out of Jimmy's Head, rather it's making you feel nostalgia for the things that Out of Jimmy's Head replaced on CN's lineup.

"You know what? We'd better not."
>>
>>101111794
I want to say yes because I noticed there were more tweencoms coming out compared to cartoons. I wanted to chalk me not liking any of them (outside of Drake & Josh) up to me getting older despite me ironically being the target demographic for that stuff.Though I noticed there was something off about the animated shows that were coming out and I really couldn't put my finger on it, maybe it was that every show was digitally animated at that point.
>>
>>101111975
Drake & josh predates that era slightly. It came out in 2004 which was before the "new era" started in 2006/2007.
>>
>>101111996
Okay that makes sense why I still liked it, I know I know I never actually liked anything that came after like iCarly, Victorious, anything on Disney Channel. I still watched them because they had cute girls and puberty was happening. By that era I moved onto books, manga, anime, and vidya.

One episode I remember had Jimmy being haunted by disembodied cartoon parts like arms, legs, eyes, mouth, etc. He, his irl and cartoon friends, and a teacher somehow (I don't remember) discover actual drawings of said parts and realize that they're all parts of an unfinished cartoon character made by Not Walt Disney. Jimmy cuts, pieces, and glues the drawings together and crudely draws the rest while the parts moan "finish us". His friends and the teacher are unable to figure out what Jimmy made so he tells them that its a moose. The parts then fuse together into a cartoon moose who yells "of course I'm a moose!" then hugs and thanks Jimmy.

I doubt there are genuine waifufags for this but then again according to that one anon the green c chick hasn't been in anything in eight years. Though if someone made the black girl their waifu they've got more to work with since she still had a career.

>it was uncomfortable weird
That fucking scene of Jimmy dancing with Tux while everyone else just sees him sperging on stage.

This is what >>101119285 was talking about. They hired ugly kids who were too grotesque looking to even be the "ugly" kids in teen dramas.

Having never seen this show I'm going to assume the characters' personalities based solely on this image starting from left to right
>Girl
>Black Chad
>Nerdy loser mc
>Dorky spastic

If CN really wanted to push live-action shows, couldn't they have aimed higher than shit that makes Bibleman look unironically good? Even when I was a kid, I thought all these CN Real shows looked bottom of the barrel. Only show that looked vaguely interesting was Tower Prep.

The only thing I know about this is that Roblox made a few promotional items back when it was about to come out. To this day, I wondered if either Shedlesky was held up a gun point, or he was desperate and needed the money.

It is probably much easier to find. The last show to die off was "Destroy, Build, Destroy" and "Dude, what would happen?" ended very shortly before that. CN Real ended almost a year or so before that and I think Out of Jimmys head ended slightly before real. There are a few full clips of their stuff on youtube so it hasnt been swept under the rug like the CN Real stuff. You could probably find something after looking online for like 30min

After about 2 minutes of searching I found the whole show is on itunes so it's not lost.

>just like "Out of Jimmy's Head" it has a pilot movie
>have huge promotion
>episodes aired out of production order
>creators of "Craig of the Creek" Matt Burnett and Ben Levin were writers on this show
>has 2 seasons
>ended on cliffhanger (?)
>hated by critics and by people who grow up on cartoons on CN
>the last show out of CN Real era (even if CN Real ended on 2010)

I thought it was an urban legend made up by some TV Tropes user. I'm amazed.
