Theme Park Thread

What're you favorite parks, rides, restaurants, memories, etc? What do you hope theme parks add in the future?

And why is Magic Kingdom so much better than Disneyland?

Here's a pretty neat video on the history of Pirates of the Caribbean. It's neat to see decent footage of the creation/building phase of the ride, as well as footage of long-gone parts of the ride, like the hiding woman and the Red-Head.

>>
>>101626938
Galactica is at Alton Towers, Kraken VR is at Seaworld Orlando.
Kraken VR doesn't work as well because the ride is more intense and so the goggles have a harder time staying up. Plus when I was there you had to book a time to go to the queue because of the added need for the staff to clean all of the goggles between rides.

If Marvel has stuck around for 10 years, than the Simpsons will be fine.

Best case scenario if Disney does somehow force them to take it down, is that we get a Springfield and Marvel Land in Hollywood Studios.
>>
>>101626990
The Marvel section still exists due to previous agreements (and Disney can't make rides at their Florida parks on some characters) so The Simpsons are very likely staying for the immediate future

I'm the odd one out amongst most people since Animal Kingdom and Epcot were always my favorite parks since I first started going. Then again child me was a pussy ass bitch who hated thrill rides and liked animals, atmosphere, and walking, so I understand how my experience was unique.
>>
>>101627063
According to news, the Mario Kart ride will be a go-kart track (with the cars being auto-steered) and you have to wear glasses to see the other characters in the computer-controlled cars

Otherwise the ride is driving with empty go-karts

Old King Kong ride:
>Slow
>Not much going on, just a city on fire
>"Whoah, King Kong is close to us, moves, breaths and smells like bananas!"
>End of the ride
New King Kong ride:
>Giant bats animatronics
>Faster
>A lot of things are happening
>Security bars limit your vision
>You need 3D glasses, which makes the image darker, limiting your vision even more
>"Whoah, King Kong is close to us. and moves!"
>End of the ride
To be honest, what a good King Kong ride needs is a mix between technology and practical, more animatronics with more action, and some screen there and there, like the Harry Potter forbidden journey ride (one of the best rides in Universal).
>>101627014
Where? Went a year and a half ago to Universal in Florida, the King Kong ride is still there, but is, indeed, a screen car ride.

Speaking of original Disney Park stuff

I want to start a little art project where I draw a bunch of the original park characters as like a little tribute to them. The Hatbox Ghost, Trader Sam, The Red-Head, Timekeeper, Dreamfinder and Figment, Sonny Eclipse, etc.

What are a bunch of characters that are a must-have?

really, im personally fond of the ride because it represents the full power of Disney imagineering turned to the pursuit of horror. the fact that so many people found it too intense stands as a testament to how nuts those guys can get.

>>
>>101627522
Are there any characters from Small World that are drawing-worthy?
>>
>>101627785
>>101627365
Imagination's refurbishment is pretty far back on the list of priorities for their Epcot overhaul. Like we might not even get a proper announcement until like 2022.

One of the more common rumors has been an Inside Out takeover of the ride while they kick Figment next door to the 3D theater, though the delay in getting anything done at Imagination may be a deliberate ploy to stall for time until Inside Out ceases to be relevant and they can try doing Dreamfinder and Figment again because Imagineers have been pretty insistent on trying to get that going. Like the Marvel book's goal was to basically serve as a pitch for a character reboot and show the execs that there is an audience for those characters, which it did through the huge sales compared to the rest of the theme park comics and getting a sequel.

>>
>>101627968
This. It's not happening anytime soon but a refurbishment does not mean Journey Into Imagination is done. Rumors have varied widely from Inside Out to Dreamfinder returning to even a hybrid between the two so it can be anything. The intentional delay is actually something I can see them doing

And Figment isn't leaving Epcot again, even if he transitions into the park mascot with a 3d film. People flipped last time he was removed

-Dr. Albert Falls (Jungle Cruise)
-Harrison Hightower III (Tower of Terror)
-Lord Henry Mystic (Mystic Manor)

>>
>>101626785
>>101627015

>>
>>101629080
The Society of Explorers and Adventurers are an international organization of scientists, explorers and artists established in 1582 in Italy, but hit their peak in the late 1800s under the presidency of Jason Chandler, an inventor who was said to have established Discovery Bay after salvaging Captain Nemo's Nautilus and becoming partners with the captain of the Hyperion.

Among the Society's leadership were Barnabas T. Bullion; owner of the Big Thunder Mining Company, Harrison Hightower III; the wealthy robber baron owner of Hotel Hightower, Doctor Albert Falls; the river explorer that created the Jungle Navigation Company, Lord Henry Mystic; the monkey loving archaeologist of Mystic Manor, Captain Mary Oceaneer; deep sea explorer of Castaway Cay and Typhoon Lagoon, and Merriweather Adam Pleasure; the namesake of Pleasure Island and founder of the Adventurers Club chapter.

Together these characters link not only pretty much every OC attraction not tied to Fantasy or Tomorrow, but pretty much every pulpy adventure story in the Disney catalog.

Atlantis the Lost Empire and Indiana Jones are weaved into the lore, with Indy's pilot Jock becoming a part of SEA in the 40s and Oceaneer using Atlantean script on one of her diving bells. Some of Oceaneer's crates on the Disney Cruise Line are apparently stuff she salvaged from Shipwreck Cove from Pirates 3. Harrison Hightower's brother George was the last victim of the Black Widow Bride in the Haunted Mansion.

And with how much the storyline keeps growing, I would not be surprised if Dwayne Johnson's Jungle Cruise movie somehow manages to slip a reference in there.

Fast and Furious is the worst fucking ride they have built in years. It might be their worst ever.
>>
>>101625547
>why is Magic Kingdom so much better than Disneyland?
MK has so much more room to build new attractions than Disneyland. Land is pretty limited on what they can do since so much crap like hotels and highways were built around it over the years, so they have to demolish old rides to make way for the new. MK has the advantage of being in the middle of a swamp with nothing really limiting boundary wise, meaning they can keep the old stuff and have plenty of room for the new.

One thing that really surprised me about Disneyland is the way the have their queues set up.
I grew up in Florida, and at World they get you inside or out of the way pretty fast. At Disneyland, it seemed like every single line was just a roped off area on the sidewalk. It was really bizarre, along with the rides being built on top of each other. I like the use of space at World a whole lot.

Neat, thanks. Do you know if doing the college program is a big plus for Imagineering applications? Even is it is, I can't help but feel like doing other engineering internships would be more practical for my general job prospects.
>>
>>101630767
I know two people currently in Imagineering that got their start after initially doing CPs. A good chunk of the Professional Internships have working a CP as a prerequisite, or at least something they look for.
At the same time, I would also suggest getting other actual engineering internships under your belt if you could.

You're only in your first year, right? You have until 6 months after you graduate to apply for CPs and PIs, so, if anything, you can do some other internships while still in school, so you have that experience in the field, as well.
>>
>>101630937
Yeah, I just finished my first year, but I was actually lucky enough to get an internship doing R&D for an appliance company this summer. I'm liking it well enough and expect to get an offer to come back next year, so I don't really think doing the CP is in the cards for me.

I don't think I've seen the CP as an official requirement on any applications, is that more of a "hidden"/unspoken thing?
>>
>>101631072
>I don't think I've seen the CP as an official requirement on any applications, is that more of a "hidden"/unspoken thing?
Pretty much. Disney likes hiring internally. I've seen it on a few internal job postings in the past, though. Maybe they don't write it on external listings.

Congrats on your current offer, though. Definitely stick with that, especially if you think a proper offer is in the cards.

>>
>>101631199
Ah, alright. Thanks for the advice, anon.
>>
>>101631282
The park would start out as a storybook theme park. Lots of rides and other attractions based on public domain stories. Rule number one: projections must be kept to an absolute minimum. Animatronics take precedent. The dark ride would be Dracula's castle, naturally. Lots of haunted house effects like Disny's Haunted Mansion, of course, with the added visceral terror of the most pervasive type of undead in mythology. The other dark ride that comes to mind something set in ancient Egyptian ruins, with plenty of mummy animatronics.
There would be two water rides: Moby Dick and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. the second one mostly because Disney is out of touch.
The first jungle-themed ride would be Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World. Dinosaurs, marine reptiles, swooping flocks of pterosaurs, warlike ape-men, sabertooth tigers, all that good shit. The second jungle ride would, naturally, be Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan, and not just things from the first book: there would be an underground Pellucidar section of the ride, complete with Ant-Men.
The fairy tale section of the park would have plenty of Grimm's Fairy Tale classics, and other classical legends like parts of the Arthurian cycle and possibly Saint George and the Dragon. In the Grimm's section there'd be some hokey Black Forest eateries and shops, naturally.
As for a Wild West/American Tall Tales area of the park, you'd have a Paul Bunyan-themed log ride, a Western train robbery ride, and the only one I've come up with a title for: Buffalo Bill's Stampede.
That's all I can come up with for now.

Everyone always talks about what rides they would make/bring back in these threads, but a theme park isn't strictly rides. You can go to Six Flags for that shit.

It really depends on what you're into. If you like foreign cultures, it's pretty cool, though honestly there's enough inauthentic stuff about their various countries that kinda shatters the illusion. They've really downplayed their emphasis on the future/possibilities, but I always enjoy strolling through the park all the same.

People talk about Beastly Kingdom a lot (and I don't dislike the idea) but what I really would've liked would be a North America section of the park to complement the Africa and Asia sections; with bears, wolves, mountain lions, moose, and whatever else. I like how Disney shows off exotic cultures in addition to the exotic animals (the Asia portion has a major Himalayan/South Asian aesthetic, and the Africa portion does the same for East Africa), and for North America they could've gone full Northwest Coast.
>>
>>101630454
Why wouldn't they leverage IPs they own?

They can't use Simpsons and any other franchise wouldn't be appropriate, but Bob's Burgers has proven cross generational appeal. And they have an entire book of recipies to draw from already.
>>

That would be amazing. I always wanted a Native America section of Epcot, it's such an amazing culture.

Bob's Burgers in Disney Springs. As authentic to the show as possible, fresh, locally sourced ingredients, burger of the day, little nods to the show throughout. Maybe convert the alley into outdoor seating.

Muppet Dinner Theatre, complete with shows nightly, either through puppeteers or animatronics.

A Wreck It Ralph counterpart to Be Our Guest, with dining rooms based on Fix It Felix, Sugar Rush, and Hero's Duty. Have CGI characters projected into the background catering around. Extend the theming to the menu too, Sgt. Calhoun's Hearty Vittles, Nicelander Cocktail Party Hors Deourves, and Sugar Rush Finish Line Sweets

Apparently early Dinoland USA plans would have had a log flume featuring Ice Age animals and that definitely could have scratched some of that itch.

Personally, as an Armchair Imagineering idea, I felt like they could have done something more with Camp Minnie Mickey instead of slapping Avatar in. Do it up as that national park from the Humphrey Bear cartoons, mix North American animal trails with some of Disney's american animal films and maybe even have a throwback to Nature's Wonderland but with live animals, and throw in a dark ride based around Fearsome Critters and the Bigfoot from Goofy Movie

There are several large animals (wolves, black bears, panthers, eagles, foxes, and a few deer species off the top of my head) that can thrive in just about every environment in North America, be it swamp, desert, deciduous forest, high mountain, prairie, taiga, or rainforest. Even with the species that are used to a specific climate, the caretakers could probably find ways to make them comfortable.
>>

People also don't understand that theme parks and the work Imagineering has done is just as valid "full Disney" productions as their films are. Remember, Imagineering was originally just a bunch of people that Walt handpicked from within his studio, most of them being animators and the crew that did 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Pirates of the Caribbean and so many of the other classics come right from the pen of one of the Nine Old Men.

Disney themselves don't help matters when you have park-inspired media like Kingdom Keepers and Epic Mickey treating park characters as disposable robots.
>>
>>101635271
The Sleeping Beauty name was slapped on really late in development. Was originally going to be Snow White's Castle.
>>
>>101634903
No one who actually cares for the parks care about lack of IP, it's more people's kids who will ride something more if it has a Frozen theme then a general theme. Many of the actual park fans have been fighting to keep the classic and non-famous ip rides from going under.

If that were their first visit, I can understand that they didn't know who that character is.

You can see pictures of them in the gas station and that's it.

>>
>>101636196
Nope. They own the gas station and are the old people in the image posted earlier.

>>101636198
It's the same track. Journey into Imagination wasn't a true Omnimover in the way the others were. It loaded like one, but the trains could separate from the pack and change speed. Like there were going to be small coaster style drops into the Literature and Science rooms, but they got pulled because of complications with the computers, which delayed the attraction's opening in general.

That was also why they ripped out the original blimp scene when they overhauled the ride. A Carousel of Progress theater that took in ride vehicles was a motherfucker to maintain.

>>
>>101636417
Hitchhikers are also on a turntable moving at the same speed as the vehicles, but obviously a much smaller scale.

With Imagination, they had six of those blimps with walls separating them that would move in sync with a train of vehicles's speed, giving the illusion that we're just sitting there hanging with them for three minutes.
>>
>>101636102
Figment is tied fully to the parks. Many people who are fans of Disney, are just fans of the movies, and don't really know that the parks have their own history and stuff. Song of the South is a movie, so knowing about that, above purely park related stuff, isn't THAT odd.
But still, assuming that nobody else knows about the thing you just found out, to the point where you make an entire video about it, is stupid.
Sure you can make a video about you finding out about the character, that also explains the character and its history to anyone who also didn't know about it, but a title like "the most popular Disney character you've never heard of" is stupid. Why the fuck would the character be popular if no one has ever heard about it before?
Also all this shit >>101636134

I'm excited and saddened. I think the Orlando River Adventure is staying open, though. I'm gonna miss it but jesus is this ride a long time coming. Like two or three movies late. And the nostalgia factor alone is enough for people to flock to the Orlando ride anyway, so I think it makes sense for the new ride to be at just the Hollywood location.
>>

I've only ridden the orlando version. I'm excited by the opportunity to give Blue a smooch if they put the World overlay in Orlando.
>>
>>101636864
You can give Blue a smooch now at the Raptor Encounter. I think. Tbh I'm gonna be disappointed if they get rid of both versions of the ride. And somehow the Orlando version isn't as good as the Hollywood one, it feels less charming. Better/less dilapidated animatronics thouhh.
>>
>>101637177
What is it about both Universal and Disney having more room at florida but making the rides shorter?

Pirates and Small world are a lot shorter in Orlando, yet they have all the room they could ask for there.
>>
>>101637219
It's really fucking weird. I always thought it was a kind of forward planning, like they want as much space for future attractions as possible so they make rides shorter. Weird.
>>
>>101637219
WDW Pirates was a quick and dirty addition abruptly greenlit because visitors kept asking why it wasn't there on opening day.

You see, Magic Kingdom was going to have this huge ambitious western version of Pirates called Western River Expedition instead, which would be part of a larger attraction complex called Thunder Mesa.

But between the demand for Pirates, the 70s oil crisis, and the increasing demand for thrill rides, we never got Western River or the full Thunder Mesa. A runaway mine coaster component of Thunder Mesa was re-developed as a standalone attraction and that's how we got Big Thunder Mountain.
>>
>>101627004
Jaws was kino, it's just more Harry Potter shit now?

>everyone assumes the millenium falcon is the e-ticket ride
>it's actually the other battle escape ride that they've given no information about.

It's something like the most expensive theme park ride ever. It has 2 full sized ATATs in it. That aside they've still given next to zero details about what the ride actually is, only vague rumours. I'm steering towards a reworking of the old Earthquake/Twister/Backdraft format mixed in with Journey To Atlantis. An immersive special effects show.

Still interested to see how they make the Millenium falcon ride not-shit when you have a terrible pilot.

I like those ideas, especially the Fearsome Critters ride. Sasquatch could be an ever present figure throughout the area, with visitors finding footprints and destroyed saplings, hearing strange calls, and other signs of life, all culminating in an attraction where you see the creature face to face (possibly the aforementioned Fearsome Critters feature). Also there could a Gravity Falls attraction somewhere in there

As much as it's a classic ride. It's very dated, low capacity, needs shitloads of staff and I imagine the maintenance on the 30 year old animatronics and vehicles costs them a huge amount.

I'm the guy who suggested a North America addition to Animal Kingdom, so going off of that the primary eatery for that area would be a restaurant themed like a 19th century tavern, with animal heads and pelts on the walls, carved figures standing in the corners, and the whole thing made to look like a hastily constructed log cabin. It would serve foodstuffs native to the Pacific Northwest like salmon, shellfish, mushrooms, camas, deer, rabbit, seaweed, Indian ice cream, and possibly more unorthodox choices like seal, bear, and whale meat if Disney wants to risk serving them.

It's a shame that we expect such ugly cynicism on first glance. I mean, yeah, Fallout, but Nuka World's stuff was peanuts to what could be done with a Fallout game doing Disneyworld. Imagine Walt's actual EPCOT system, now obviously in ruin, but with Walt as a tired Fisher King style man in his Firehouse retreat in the Kingdom faraway. Watching his legacy sink into the swamp from international wars even he can't remember much the point of anymore. An inversion of our world, Walt got to live to see his dream come true, and watch it all burn and decay. And yet, still trying to salvage something from it, like the records or the old tapes.

Meanwhile the site is littered with all sorts of dangers, and post-apocolyptic cities in the wreck, robots that were supposed to run various land and sea exhibits now causing wild areas, maybe a robot mascot to the Disney parallel, in all the centuries since half-decayed but still wanting to give hugs or smiles, but with enough time to think too. A character robot not so gone into despair he's edgy, but not oblivious to the world around him. Like someone desperate to bring smiles but knowing the pragmatic limits of his situation. Bob Ross as Goofy, the sense of a guy who's chosen positivity in the wake of twenty years of military service.

I'm not usually one for retheming, but I feel like with Star Wars Land, they could retheme Star Tours to be Muppet themed, expanding the Muppet Land a good bit. Star Tours is the kind of old, lower budget ride that would fit well with a wacky Muppet adventure, I feel.

Half of the park is already Star Wars, we've long since past the point of overkill.

Definitely a Snuggle Duckling, and it better have a one handed pianist there somewhere and guys throwing axes at Lucky.

But I keep thinking they need to keep going with bighuge grand themed places like Be Our Guest, since that place is eternally overbooked so something needs to take the slack off somewhat. The challenge is finding something from Disney properties that has the same level of iconic popularity that people would want to go there.

the only thing that comes to mind that has the same level of displaying lots and lots of ornately detailed interior ambience that comes from a hugely popular movie is Elsa's ice castle, even though there was never a single food related scene in it. But the extreme levels of detail in everything there might make for an insane attraction. Especially if the walls were capable of changing color to yellow , blue, and red like they do in the movies.

The only "theme park" I had near me growing up was a play called Fun Mountain. It got closed down after a girl lost her leg to one of the bumper boats propellers; the propeller guards had all fallen off and were never replaced. Then another kid almost died after he got thrown out of the water slide into the ravine below the park; they never replaced the damaged safety net that kept people in the slide. Also on one of those stationary kiddy rocking horse rides, a rusted high tension spring came loose and shot right through some 6 year old's leg. This place was open for like 30 years and been through about 12 owners.

So, if you ever find yourself in Arkansas an someone suggests going to any theme/amusement park, just don't.

It’s already a fucking pain dealing with the rush of guests from Liberty Square/Frontierland to Main Street post first parade to watch the fireworks. Shoving in a Fant showtime, as well, means another large shift of crowds back and forth between those two areas throughout the night, or alternatively more people camping out in Ad/Lib and congesting it. There was never a good reason to add Fantasmic to MK, which is why they didn’t.

And inb4 I get a “there’s no night parade in MK”, I’m speaking of this hypothetical scenario where Fant would have premiered in MK, during which time there was.
>>
>>101655684
In Disneylands case, they had to redo the entire waterfront to make it a viewing area
>>
>>101655749
Exactly, and why do that for MK, when you have a fairly new park that still had plenty of room, and that did need a new nighttime show.

They’re odd, but a lot of ‘em are pretty similar.

The spookiest one has to be that poor girl who got crushed to death on America Sings. Makes the animatronics that got recycled from that show a little creepier, considering they’re sorta accessories to murder.

Aside from the America Sings CM or that BTMR death, its usually either a pre-existing condition or someone doing something they're not supposed to do, standing on a ride or trying to swim the rivers of America or some shit. It's the incidents that come out of those easily assembled carnival rides that are REALLY freaky.

Will Gran Fiesta Tour survive or will it get Coco’d?
>>
>>101662166
It’ll make it.
>>
>>101662166
In my opinion it depends if Coco can get a reasonable attraction elsewhere in the park, since that's the only thing that seems could displace T3C. They have room to build a Coco ride, and I don't feel they want to remove T3C from Epcot either. Jose might also be used for the rumored Brazil section
>>
>>101627132
rumor has it a referb is imminent and the yeti will be back in a-mode
>>
>>101662166

Another ultra low capacity E-ticket ride isn't what Epcot needs.

The Mary Poppins ride is apparently the big priority
>>
>>101658431

You should read the health and safety report on it. It's a doozy.

To sum it up

>ride manufacturer recommends 6 people running the ride minimum, they had 2
>there were no proper markings for dangerously low water levels, the staff were just told "if the water level goes below the algae line, call maintenence and at some point they'll fix the pumps. Keep the ride running
>the conveyor was in a bad state with lots of broken wooden beams
>The staff had never done emergency shut off drills and weren't trained for it
>The operators were under the impression that you had to phone someone to get authorization for an emergency shut off
>The emergency shut off didn't work anyway as the circuitry was a mess
>The staff members had to use the slow stop which needed a key. This method stopped the ride over 8 seconds (during which people were being ground up by the conveyor)
>There had been boat flips before on the ride when testing, this wasn't recorded as they thought it would look bad
>the small daughters of the parents who were ground up were left on the ride for 45 minutes, whilst they could see bits of their parents floating around

Hopefully someone at that park is getting jailed over it.

>tfw with the cancellation of Gigantic the Spain pavillon will be dropped again and your country will never be in world showcase
>>
>>101665473

Most of Disney's modern rides go to pretty large lengths to boost the capacity.

The big problem they have though is crowding. People queuing up are people who aren't clogging up all the pathways, making the park more visibly packed. They like having 2000 people in a queue for 60 minutes.

Still wish they'd do more though. Needs more theatre shows, starbucks that actually let people sit down for a while etc. Just anything that reduces crowds.
>>
>>101660881
Another one tried to get free from the seatbelts because he got scared by the ride and didn't thought that this would probably kill him (which obviously happened)
>>
>>101665541

I will never not be pissed at Gigantic getting cancelled. Still holding up hope it gets a "rapunzel unbraided" reworking. Some anon said it was cancelled because another rival studio was working on a very similar concept. Wonder what it was (if he wasn't bullshitting).

I can't see Disney not being massively tempted by having a Tapas restaurant at Epcot. They can make insane amounts from them.

It doesn't, but it's a very good time to build a ride and they'll get a bigger visitor boost
>>
>>101665683
Yeah, but it doesn't need to be based on a IP as most weren't for most of the park's existence. I mean Brazil is going to happen and José Carioca is pretty much Disney's only representation of the country, who may or may not even be part of a ride there. Hold out hope for it

Just the description in this thread is horrifying

Imagine from both perspectives: spending your last moments being ripped to shreds in front of your children, not being able to help them or say anything to calm them down, no time to say goodbye. And then watching your parents be ground up alive in something that could’ve been prevented on what should’ve been a happy and memorable day. But now you’ll be scarred for life and probably hate boats, theme parks, and anything associated for the rest of your life, never being fully healed from the trauma.

It’s so fucked up.

I mean Disneyland has literally moved entire backstage stuff for their Star Wars land so moving that and a literal meet and greet shouldn't be a issue in the slightest, even if keeping the meet and greet.

Honestly the rumors of replacing T3C is entirely "Coco did well in theaters", it's not like T3C ride is unpopular in the slightest and if they are going to do a lateral ride capacity revamp it should be for Journey Into Imagination instead of risking for a very recent property

I mean once Disney has the rights to Rio when they buy Fox they could use that IP to dress up Brazil's pavilion.
>>
>>101672240
Now this is a interesting idea I've never heard, I wonder if they'd do it if they keep the studio, Rio isn't exactly a critically acclaimed or Disney-feeling property, with that and Ice Age their only franchises worth anything
>>
>>101672544
I mean its recognizable enough, and would fit perfectly with Brazilian Pavilion. Having Blue Sky Animation folding under disney wouldn't prevent them from using the Rio IP. Also sure it's not very Disney-feeling of an IP but lately it seems that Disney is going heavy on IP's so would make sense to use a very fitting and relatively well known kids movie for Epcot. Although speaking of Ice Age, I could see that fitting in Animal Kingdom very well, possibly next to dinoland (which is in need of some help) or just straight up replacing it.
>>
>>101670423
Cool idea and all but unfortunately would not happen at that scale. There is a theme park of sorts (the many small theme parks scattered around Japan that are not on the level of disney or universal) opening in 2022
.https://www.forbes.com/sites/georgekoutsakis/2018/04/25/studio-ghibli-theme-park-is-coming/#54c42a5620c8
But realistically exiting on what could possibly happen with Ghibli and theme parks that I would love to see is the Japan Pavilion in Epcot get a Spritied Away attraction since it would fit in with the pavilion so well.
>>
>>101672947
Yeah it would fit perfectly in the Pavilion and it was pretty successful. I'm just interested if Disney would make a ride for a franchise that had no real relation to Disney a decade after the films came out

And they need to get rid of the Dinoland. Make a North American section, Ice Age land, literally anything that's not just a wild mouse
>>
>>101625547
>And why is Magic Kingdom so much better than Disneyland?
Everyone says this, but it's one of my lifelong dreams to go to California and visit Disneyland, if for no other reason than it being Walt's original park.
