This is maximum levels of shit taste. West is good choice because of nostalgia and appearance. Clooney is light show garbo, and Bale is just a fucking tank. I don't get the hate-on Kilmer's batmobile gets. Is it because of the rims?

Keaton
West is silly
Kilmer is too Twisted Metal
Clooney has it's style, so it gets a second place

Bale maybe get a pass because of Nolans "realism"

This. It looked like what you'd get if you parked Keaton's next to Bale's, turned off the lights, played some Barry White tunes, and waited 9 months.
Following the analogy, it was unfortunately born with a godawfully huge growth on it's forehead that was easily removable, and once it was, it represented the best of both of it's parents.

Looks co cool but I always thought it was silly that Batman would have the most absurdly impractical cars in existence. Realistically, wouldn't he just have Audi A5 or a Mercedes E class or something with a turbo, some bullet proof windows and some armor plating? Not really sure where Batman's going in Gotham that needs to go 200 MPH only for the car to explode because he dings a curb. I'm with this guy: >>102959674

Keaton is the most iconic, used in the 90's cartoon and lots of comics after it.

Clooney is good but the wings are retarded. Kilmer is ugly, and Bale/Afflect are meant to be tacticool because Warner was afraid of comic books after B&R killed the franchise for almost a decade.

This.
As Gotham city developed its infrastructure vertically Batman would be forced to use a flying vehicle as his primary transport instead of a ground vehicle. Ascending and descending a mountain of steel and glass *every night* would get incredibly fucking tiresome and could result in losing a chase or some innocent life being lost because of travel times.
Of course without some kind of stealth technology, flight outside of Gotham city would result in actual fighter jets being scrambled to escort or shoot down the unregistered, unmarked, no-flight-plan aircraft.

Post 9/11 it would be a good way to get on top of the shitlist by moving through restricted air space without a flight plan.

>i wonder who did...

The Keaton Batmobile was designed largely by the same guy who came up with the whole visual look of Gotham city for the movie, Anton Furst. I' always happy when I can tell people about him because he was such a talented artist who unfortunately killed himself way too soon; and had probably the most impact on the visual design of Batman outside of the comics than anyone else.

Batmobiles being some crazy unique, nonstreet legal vehicle is a relatively new concept. Originally it was basically just a concept car ("10 years ahead" of any contemporary car, relative of whatever the given year was). even the West batmobile was just a concept car given some decorations. I think DKR was the first time the Batmobile was truly not a car, and then the Keaton batman movies pushed it further.

Yea part of the hilarious part of DKR is it was supposed to be taking parts of Batmans to their ironic extreme. It's silly that he has those cute goofy Batarangs and now he throws them into people's face like shurikens. It's silly that he always drove around in a black sports car with his face on it called the Batmobile and now it's massive tank for mowing through hundreds of people. The idea that all of the "how can I take this silly thing about Batman and make it as violent and ridiculous as possible?" stuff became the new status quo for Batman must be hilarious to Miller.

Animated Series Batmobile for me. It's just amazing.

For the live action ones, Keaton > West > Clooney > Bale > Affleck > Kilmer.

I loathe the Kilmer, it's awful in every way. At least Clooney's retains the classic shape. Bale and Affleck lose points for being too military, though Bale's gets a special mention for being a legitimate, ass-kicking car. That baby was 100% real (when it wasn't a miniature).

the batmobile is the most unnecessary part of the batman universe. It reeks of "boomers who grew up when cars were the peak of engineering." I can just picture the 65 year old executive whose only question is "But what about the batmobile?" at every god damn meeting.

It ruined Arkham Knight and is the most tonally inconsistent part of the Nolan films. The fact that we've settled on "it's just a fucking tank" shows how badly DC lost the plot. Fuck the batmobile.

Wasn't either the Kilmer or Clooney ones actually unfinished because they needed to rush a design out for merchandise purposes?
Anyways, Keaton.
>>
Kilmer for sure.
West gets bonus points for looking like Heathcliff's car.

Uuh and by Kilmer I mean Keaton.

Keaton, with West as second best.

>. I don't get the hate-on Kilmer's batmobile gets. Is it because of the rims?
I hate that it was clearly a toy before they even built the car. Made worse by the movie theatre literally showing the car in action as a toy advert before the movie even begins.

>would be a cool batmobile

West. I'm not even kidding.

I've got a soft spot for the coupe from TNBA, though I recognize it's not nearly as iconic as the BTAS version.
