Bendis is such a petty little pigfucker of a man.
>>
You ask that like he was never an imbecile to begin with.
>>
Well yeah, but there's plenty of better examples.
>>
Peter is gonna show up or what?
>>
>>95325672
>I am none of those things
Actually, I'm pretty sure you are in fact on the run from the cops. You're still a wanted fugitive as far as I know. You're not one of those "you got nothing on me copper, go talk to my lawyer" type crime bosses like Wilson Fisk.
>>
>>95325672

I see this as a good thing.

Either she survives and begins the path back to heroism, and he unfucks what Slott did to her...
Or.
She just flat out dies, stays dead for a while, and then some other writer comes along and brings her back and we all pretend Slott's changes never happened.
>>
>>95325726
His DD run was great and it's only people who can't overcome their hateboner who cannot accept that.
>>
>>95325816
I'm torn. On the one hand it's Bendis ignoring continuity but on the other hand it's Bendis ignoring how Slott is handling Black Cat, which does deserve to be ignored.
>>
>>95325672
What run is this?
>>
>>95325866
Bendis' Defenders. In particular the issue that came out yesterday >>95314189
>>
>>95325846
>he unfucks what Slott did to her...
It would be about time that happened since it seems only death can stop Slott from writing Spider-man.
>>
>>95325850
I like sloot cap though.
I am told bendis is ignoring hydra frank though so that's pretty based of him.
>>
>>95325926
*slott cat
>>
>>95325672
I fucking swear to God, if Peter doesn't come to rescue her...
>>
>>95325850
>Bendis ignoring how Slott is handling Black Cat
No he isn't. Not only is he also having her act like a crime boss, she tried to have a teenage boy killed for no reason other than the fact that he dresses up like Spider-Man.
>>
>>95325847
all the flaws of his writing today are present in his Daredevil

also the art is eh
>>
>>95325926
ignoring Hydra Frank should be the default, not something worthy of praise
>>
>>95326045
How about this:
Hydra cap escapes, turns Frank into Hydra Frankencastle and together they set up Hydra cells all over the world to prepare for the next attempt.
>>
>>95325943
>Peter rescues her.
>But assumes she's about to die.
>Takes off his mask because fuck it.
>Strange's spell breaks.
>Felicia now remembers everything from before.
>Manages to survive.
>Having all of her old good time memories of Spider-Man and Peter Parker, and all of the positive changes he made on her life essentially DELET's all the cunt that Slott injected her with.
>But she's also incredibly hurt, once she finds out why she forgot all of it in the first place, still leaving the relationship rocky between the two, but without the "I want to kill you Spider-Man" and crime boss shit.

Best case scenario for this shit.
>>
>>95326117

>>

>>95325672
Is just Bendis pushing this shitty character that nobody touched in 30 years, giving him a lame powerup and believing that now it belongs to him... I can't believe we had 5 issues with this character as main villain of the Synergy Defenders, he was tracked and defeated by Luke, Jessica and Danny already, but for some stupid convenient reason they still don't really defeated him, are the Defenders useless? I mean, come on! this isn't the first time they fight together! if you can't defeat Diamondback then thanks God Wilson Fisk isn't Kingpin...
>>
>>95326323
She'll survive. Bad luck for her would be killer, you see?
>>
>>95326664
that Marvel lets him keep fisting his OC's into everything is the only reason he still works there rather than falling for his on ego and trying to go solo at Image or whatever
>>
>>95326624
No he just doesn't care. An idea will come to him, and rather than figuring out if it works or if he can make it work, he just does it and completely ignores anything else.
>>
>>95326128
I'm a real big fan of the Felicia realizes she'll never be his MJ, but absolutely loves dense Spidey/Peter dynamic, even if it means she must be used sparsely.
>>
>>95326128
Actually, I'd keep her a crime boss.
As an Anti-Villain crime boss, taking control of the underworld to limit the shit like slavery and drug dealing, making the city(or at least selected parts of the city) a safer place.
>>
>>95326847
yeah. "Better me than the other guys" plots always fail with stuff like Daredevil because the status quo MUST be restored by the end of the arc, which means they cock it all up and write it off as a mistake, but with supporting characters like Felicia they are actually in a position to be written as doing a solid job of it
>>
>>95326775
Bendis is one of the few guys who has the right idea.

Continuity should add to stories, not roadblock them. If they do the latter? Ignore it.
>>
>>95326884
fuck off Brian
>>
>>95326884
See the issues are though that a) his stories aren't great and b) he ignores his own continuity from recent stories, or even the current story.
It's one thing to say "yeah I can't follow every plotline from the 30+ years ago to satisfy everyone". It's another to confuse people with constant contradictions. Especially when shit ties in with one another. If Bendis and Spencer are writing contradictions but we the readers are supposed to be treating their books as two parts of a whole, what do we do there?
>>
>>95326779
Nobody gives a fuck about mery jean anon, much less now that she's a nigger
>>
>>95326847
Why not give her the full Catwoman treatment and cut her hair and dye it black?
The only thing you can't do is have Peter propose to her. Marriage is a no-no for Spidey after all.

Continuity is what makes everyone who we are. It's all the events of our past linked by the thread of time and space. You walked outside because you brushed your teeth, took a shower and put on fresh clothes earlier in the day. You got a great job because you went to school and got good grades and earned a degree.

With guys like Bendis, the details get in the way. The past doesn't matter. If Bendis wrote your reality, your day would begin by walking outside after pickles and the lights turned on, but who called the dry cleaner over? Cell phone banana split.

Bendis doesn't give a fuck about his only job.
>>

>Who the fuck is this asshole
That's Diamondback. You know: from the Netflix show?

Because Synergy.

I'm kidding: it was a fake-out, because Bendis.

Remember this is the nigger that wrote Age of Ultron ( with the Time Travel Shenanigans reset at the end ); and Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier ( with the Time Travel Shenanigans reset at the end ); and Civil War II ( with the Cosmic Shenanigans reset at the end ).

He's like Slott on Spider-Man or Waid on Avengers/Champions: you shouldn't be reading it unless you're hatereading it ... in which case it's pretty much gold.

Doesn't seem like a very original plan, or a very good one. The fact that later Danny and Jessica beat the crap out of him kind of shows it.

>>
>>95326884
Maybe if it was well written. Continuity shouldn't be ignored, it should be built upon. Although they're not perfect runs, the Morrison into Whedon years on the X-Men pushed them forward in interesting ways that ignored the status quo, while still mostly respecting continuity. Bendis just does whatever he feels like and it's usually terrible. To go with another X-Men example, his take on Cyclops post-AvX was the worst thing ever.
>>
>>95326030
Man stop bullshitting. It worked well in his Daredevil. The bendism was to a minimum and to a point. The reason he is hated is Bendis overusing what made him popular to books that don't work well with type of storytelling.

>>
>>95333826
It was actually created way back in 1974, by Hank McCoy. It's the reason he became a furry in the first place, apparently swallowing his experimental formula was the only way he could think of to hide it from industrial spies.
>>
>>95333990
>So why is it called IGH now?
MGH is "Mutant Growth Hormone", usually harvested from captive, unwilling mutants. AoS and Netflix aren't allowed to use mutants, so we get IGH, or "Inhuman Growth Hormone" instead.

And we all know Bendis will throw anything under the bus for MCU synergy, so here we are.

>Marvel's first hispanic superhero, killed off to be replaced by a Bendis OC
Here's the funny thing about it. Joe Quesada saw the script and sat Bendis down to talk to him about it.

The jist of what he had to say was something like this: "Hey, how would you like it if I were to call Kurt Busiek right this minute and ask him if it would benefit one of his stories to kill off Jessica Jones in one of his books? You wouldn't like it? Well guess what? Nobody else would either. So you call George Perez and you get his fucking blessing before I'm giving you the green light to kill off the character he created." (Bill Mantlo was the writer who created the character, but presumably by that point his brain damage would have made a similar conversation with him meaningless)

At that time, Bendis related this story as a sobering lesson about respecting the creation of his fellow creators, but sadly it seems like he internalized none of that lesson and no editor since Quesada has had the juice to have the same sort of conversation with him.

Post OMD Felicia doesn't deserve to win the Peterbowl (not that she wants to).
Besides, do you REALLY want them to get together for real knowing that Marvel could pull another stunt like OMD at any time?
>>
>>95346945
What matters to them is that she's /known/ as a thief. Which makes the mouse higher ups give them a big no-no since they pretty much want to exclusively maket Spider-Man towards children. Despite, you know, his most famous stories involve him tackling dark subjects, like: children with cancer, suicide, cop murders, ect. ect.
>>
>>95346969
I just want Pete to be with someone y'know? I mean I'd probably be dead before Marvel decides to push MJ and Pete again.
>>
>>95347021
That's because you understand the franchise more than Marvel. Spider-Man is about growth and the human condition. We've seen him go from a loner high schooler, to a friendly college kid, to a man, to a happily married man, to a responsible and gruff adult. We see his world views change with constant status quo changes. That's what makes the character. 616 Peter /should/ be raising a baby by now while struggling with his double life since it would he the natural progression, but Marvel just doesn't seem to get it.
>>
>>95347105
I just think Marvel is afraid that heroes shouldn't have life long partners, I mean most heroes usually go through divorces.

I honestly didn't read it at all. Currently?

> Taskmaster

Showing up as the sub villain in Spider-Men 2. He looks like a Masters of the Universe reject.

> Hobgoblin

Bendis is basically writing him as if he's Jason Macendale under the mask (as shown in Jessica Jones #10 ) when it's the original and more threatening Roderick Kingsley. Hobby is going to show up in another comic which leads me too...

> Sandman
Another guy who's getting gonna get Bendis. Him and Hobby are showing up in the Sinister Six arc soon in Miles' Spidey comic.

> Venom

Symbiotes are a peaceful race! The Venom symbiote just had a bad experience prior to Spider-Man. Course, what Costa is doing to Venom is worse than what Bendis did.

> Iron Man
> The Hood
> Tigra
> Mysterio
> Moonstone

All spring to mind as well. Ultron thankfully escaped the awful writing of Bendis TWICE.

I wouldn't call it ruined? He acts like Tasky, and actually beat both Spidermen, instead of jobbing like he usually does.

Hell, when Peter saw him, he said "oh shit" instead of making a joke like he'd do with everyone up to Galactus.
>>
>>95358692
>Bendis is basically writing him as if he's Jason Macendale under the mask
Bendis is simply writing him the saw way he writes any villains he considers B-List or below. They're losers who "need a win" but always fail because they're idiot losers that deserve to be mocked for their "silly" names and costumes.

Marvel always thought spiderman was an everyman who doesn't need to get married to be relatable. None at the Industry wanted it to happen. Shooter forced it to happen.

how ?

Well, the story is that Bendis wanted Peter to die in "Civil War II", but Slott got his way and made it Bruce Banner who died.

It's entirely possible that Bendis spent the last year skimming through Slott's Spider-Man bibliography, plucking out all the important developments that had a more lasting impact than others, and is now slowly going to fuck over Slott, first in his own books and later in other books. If Bendis' next event that he helms ends up focusing on Spider-Characters, then we'll know for sure what's up.
>>
>>95362990
>Bendis wanted Peter to die in "Civil War II"
I've heard that was overblown, and given how CWII was just pieced together at the last minute I'm inclined to believe it.
>>

http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/marvel-kill-character-civil-war-ii-article-1.2491020
>Cackling like a cabal of super villains, a group of 50 shady characters recently met in a Manhattan conference room to secretly plot the demise of a major Marvel superhero.
[...]
>As the story unfolds this new seer predicts the hero in question will be the cause of a major incident of destruction in three days, requiring the other good guys to make a tough call. The writer just hasn’t figured what or how bad that cataclysm will be.
[...]
>Though they also didn’t immediately settle on a big-name hero to turn into the culprit, Bendis kept referring to the doomed hero as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.

>“Do you see me worried? I’m not worried,” whispers “Amazing Spider-Man” writer Dan Slott. “This is not my first rodeo. By the end of the afternoon, it won’t be Peter Parker.”

>And sure enough, Parker is saved a grim fate by the afternoon as mass opinion shifts attention to other characters.

On another note, I just saw this:
>After hours of occasionally heated debate, Bendis and Alonso reveal they had a eureka moment during a 10-minute break and came up with the perfect superhero to sacrifice and an even better candidate to murder him. The answer actually gets a loud ovation from the crowd.

>“That’s like an epic,” says Robinson. “I’m genuinely shocked.”

Y'know, Civil War 2 feels so long ago. Was it that forgettable? Was it that unimportant in the overall scheme of Marvel Comics?
>>
>>95325672
Bendis? Brian Michael Bendis, an imbecile?
>>
>>95363246
I'd seen the first few lines, which were played off as a joke. The eureka moment really nails it home though. I suppose you're right

>Was it that forgettable? Was it that unimportant in the overall scheme of Marvel Comics?
Yeah it really was. Most events are terrible, but they have some level of planning. CWII was apparently built out of nothing just to cash in on the movie. This meant the tie-ins lacked cohesion, the plot itself was a clusterfuck and some things were just about retconned (Stark was supposed to die, but was instead made into an AI cause he was needed for HydraCap)

>>
>>95363316
Nah, the first line in most articles are the setup to draw in the reader. The rest is generally as it occurred.

But it also helps to believe that Bendis wants to push Miles as the main Spider-Man. I don't know if that's just /co/njecture or if that's something Bendis has actually said, but if you believe that Bendis and Slott are at odds with whether Miles or Peter should be the main Spider-Man, it makes for a conflict that paints their actions against each other.
>>
>>95363246
>Bendis and Alonso reveal they had a eureka moment during a 10-minute break and came up with the perfect superhero to sacrifice and an even better candidate to murder him. The answer actually gets a loud ovation from the crowd.
Oh my god who the hell cares anymore? Who among Marvel's main heroes hasn't died in say, the last decade?

>“That’s like an epic,” says Robinson. “I’m genuinely shocked.”
But it's good to see Robinson continuing his long tradition of being editorial's bitch, despite Marvel barely even *having* an editorial.

Not entirely. Slott does what he does for the sake of self-preservation. If Peter dies, so does "Amazing Spider-Man", and if that book dies then Slott has nowhere to go. "Silver Surfer" is getting canned, after all, and unless he can think of a way to rip off whatever TV show he's been binging, then Slott has nowhere else to go.

>>
>>95373484
Thanks to retcons, both Slott and Bendis are expendable.

I mean that whatever happens with either course of action, you can get rid of one or the other and just retcon anything they fuck up before hitting the road.

And Slott plans to be the most prolific writer of "Spider-Man", and he's unfortunately well on his way thanks to double-shipping.
