New Black Panther comic, basically Black Panther Year One, from iO9 comic journalist Evan Narcisse.

>No teams.
Does Marvel not hear pitches from writers and decide on books a lot of times these days? It seems like their basic book method these days is "What movie or show is coming out?" The last book with an unannounced team I can think of from DC was Super Sons and they said they just weren't ready to talk about the team yet.

ADAM WARLOCK RETURNS

>Adam Warlock is returning to the galaxy…but the mystery surrounding his return remains. Is he here for the Infinity Stones? Has he come to take them back for himself? The Infinity Stone saga continues in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #150: THE RETURN OF ADAM WARLOCK PART 1, written by Gerry Duggan with art by Marcus To & Aaron Kuder.

>More information about Adam Warlock’s return will be revealed by Duggan at the MARVEL LEGACY: NEXT BIG THING Panel on Thursday, October 5 at 2:45pm during this week’s New York Comic Con.

Honestly, this isn't that surprising. We know DC considered and rejected a Selina pregnancy at the start of the New 52. They didn't want Bruce to have a kid out of wedlock.

Apparently, Talia counted with Damian.

probably something for Han Solo
Infinity War
Captain Marvel
Ant-Man and Wasp
Black Panther
Thor Ragnarok

It's happening on the 9th. (AKA right after Comic-con)

Disney has been moving away from dropping its trailers at cons. They either show them at D23, Celebration or have some of special deal in place these days.

Try gaming conventions really. >>

I don't think anyone wants these books. I mean, the only way these books could be good is if Mike Carey or Spurrier writes them. Seriously, give us an X-Kid book. That's what we want. I mean the worst mass shooting in US History just happened, they don't need to add any fuel to the fire by having a gun toting vigilante gun people down en masse in a trailer in a large public venue.

They're doing the only winning move in this scenario. Not to play.

I don't think the problem is who's getting shot, but the fact that people don't want a grim reminder of reality since watching people get mowed down kind of takes you out of shit.

My guess is that they'll still have an announcement, but a quiet one, maybe they'll just drop the Infinity War trailer and just add Punishers release date as an astrek in a press release or something to avoid any fallout so it gets buried under bigger news

Take care guys, they are ex-military. Things can get dicey if they're pushed to their limit. Don't approach them, don't antagonize them, familiarize yourself with where the emergency exits are and try to be in their proximity all the time. Keep your distance from Bleeding Cool reporters. If you're a minority and feel threatened by their presence or comments, share your concerns with security - they are there to protect you.
Those people are known trans-harassers. Do not visit bathrooms alone. If you have a whistle, taser or pepper spray, take it with you. Those are proven to be life savers.
Stay safe guys, girls and enbys.

The only thing D&C has ever done is point out how shitty Marvel comics have gotten. He's never advocated violence, he's never called his subscribers to any sort of action, even benign action. He's just a dude who sees the hot trash modern Marvel is and is calling the creators on it.

It's Mark Waid and the Bleeding Cool crowd that's been plotting and threatening violence. They had him doxxed and tried to get his twitter, youtube and patreon accounts banned because he hurts their feelings with an opinion that differs from theirs.
Have you heard D&C talk? He's the chillest dude ever. It's the SJWs that are trying to turn this into a fight. He's not a hateful bigot, he's an amateur critic and they don't like what he says, and they don't like that each no of his videos gets more views than they can sell issues of the propaganda pamphlets they call comicbooks.
>>
>>95800708
This is bullshit and you know it.
I saw him go after trans creators for being trans, purposefully misgender them and call them names. I saw timestamps on his videos, going after trans and butch body types constantly.
I saw him go after women in industry just cause they're women and he thinks they don't belong there. I saw his fans mass tweeting and harrassing those women.
I saw him picking on some random reporter, making a video about him, calling him names and mocking his appearance. This led to another series of mass tweets from his supporters to the guy just cause he liked America. I think it was a shit comic but people are allowed to like it and not be persecuted for it.
If you think he's a good guy, you need to take a deep look. He's an SJW pretending to fight them. If a comic is not according to his tastes, he goes after creators, trying to get their jobs from them and attacks them on social media. That's an SJW tactic through and through. Think about it. Unless you don't really care about how things really are, unless you already picked a side and ignore everything that threatens its legitimacy.
>>
>>95800708
he bullied Gwenpool editor, he can eat a million dicks and all of his fans should noose themselves
>>
>>95800850
>I saw him go after trans creators for being trans
No, he went after Mags for being an unqualified diversity hire who doesn't know the characters she writes and advocates for, on multiple occasions, violence against straight people. If the roles were reversed and a straight creator called for trans people to be hit in the teeth with baseball bats like Mags did, their career would be over. There shouldn't be a double standard.

>purposefully misgender them and call them names
Toughen up cunt, no-one cares what names people call others. It's words. Even little kids know 'names will never hurt me'. Calling someone names isn't a crime, and it's certainly not an excuse for the SJW side to create secret message groups where they plot and plan to initiate violence against some goofy dad of three who likes comicbooks.

>I saw him go after women in industry
Define 'go after'. He calls people out on their bullshit. That's not 'going after' someone. He also lists dozens of female creators whose work he enjoys, many of which aren't even working in the industry atm. he called for the big companies to hire these qualified veteran women creators.

>just cause they're women and he thinks they don't belong there
If they were hired because they were women, not because they got the job on merit, then they don't belong there. Same goes for any demographic. If for some reason I was hired for being a straight white male instead of for my ability, I wouldn't deserve the job in question either.

>I saw him picking on some random reporter, making a video about him, calling him names
Oh shit, not more name calling?! Grow up kiddo, only man-children give a fuck about some mean words by a guy you've never met.

>Grow up kiddo
You blindly follow 40yo guy that demands comics about heroes in tights to be made according to his taste. The only difference between him and SJWs that stomp their fat feet and demand transblackdisability representation is that his dream scenario happened in the 90s and their hasn't happened yet. If we don't take it into account, he's a model Comic Justice Warrior. And like SJWs him and his followers entertain that ridiculous idea that they are the good guys.

>The only difference between him and SJWs...

Oh bullshit, he's some goofy-ass dude making blurry videos in his car who has some spot-on insight into the absolute cluster fuck that Marvel comics have become in the last few years.

The guys on the other side are doxxing, lying, vindictive children who wallow in their cognitive dissonance and have been organising to ambush him at NYCC and try to antagonise him into some kind of violence. They believe because he's a vet he MUST have PTSD and they planned to try to prey on that and cause him to have 'an episode' at the con.
He's got his ideas on how things in comics should be, and they sound pretty accurate to me. The way things are being done right now aren't working. You're dreaming if you think modern comics aren't dying a little more every month.

I don't equate him editorialising to the SJW deliberate targeted doxxing, contacting employers to get people who disagree with them fired and overt social media bullying.

>>95801059
He wants comics to go back to doing things more like in the 90s, when they were at a high point.
>>
>>95801059
He's just a nostalgiafag, glorifying white guys creating big muscle dudes and big tits. I think it's called "Comics before SJWs", go and watch him jerk off over some Liefeld shit. Comicbooks were at their low point creatively, to him it was promiseland cause he was young then and liking everything.
>>

>Chooses one phrase to quote

Typical SJW/leftist 'arguing'. Address any of the other points, prove them wrong.
You can't, because they are right.
>>
>>95801118
What comics have SJWs made that you like and why?
I can't think of one single thing they've shat out that had anything resembling coherent narrative.
Bobby Drake is turned gay (literally), reads a book about being gay in public, gets hit on and then CANCELS A WAKE FOR HIS DEAD TEAMMATE TO GO TO A GAY BAR.
>>
>>95801145
This.
Modern Marvel is mostly trash, and the sales reflect it.
>>
>>95801106
>>95801118
Sounds like a tool, however
>Comicbooks were at their low point creatively
comics are at a low point creatively right now. Back in the 90s you still had stuff like Enigma, Shade The Changing Man, The Invisibles, Sandman, or Rachel Pollacks' Doom patrol that featured trans or gay characters. The problem with modern comics featuring gays and trans people and blacks comes from the fact that these same shitty white dudes that dominated the industry with their big tits and big guns are the main source of inspiration for current writers. Just like how they liked to self insert and make the main character cool and awesome, nowadays you can't portray a gay character as not being right in an argument or doing something bad because it's "offensive"
>>
>>95801182
>and the sales reflect it.
They're still at the top each month.
>>
>>95801120
>going after people for their opinions/out of context tweets is ok because they are wrong, we're not SJWs btw
>toughen up, it's just words
>I call what he does differently, checkmate
>meritocracy is in jeopardy, women and minorities are taking our jerbs
>it's just words
>they did it first
Great arguments you have there buddy, I'm sure you'd shine like a diamond on that debate team if they didn't fill it with women and minorities to fill their mandated diversity quota.
>Everything else you wrote is patently untrue. Saying something doesn't make it true.
Typical illiterate poltard/mgtow arguing. Address those points, prove them wrong. You can't because they're right.
>>
>>95801218
The difference is that he is not in a position of power. They are. They are doxxing him and threatening him for having an opinion that more people agree with than are reading their comics and they want to shut him down.

They aren't just SAYING things, they are DOING things.

>>
>>95801275
Being a martyr doesn't make you right. Just cause the guy didn't escalate to doxxing and threats yet doesn't make him less of an SJW. Guy wants people that he doesn't like out of industry, I refuse to apply double standard just cause his opponents are more scummy than him.
>>
>>95801320
It kind of does, though? You aren't making any sense. I hope you grow as a person, you really need it, you sound hopelessly naive.
>>
>>95801320
>Guy wants people that he doesn't like out of industry
His beef isn't that he doesn't like them as people, it's their politics, the damage they are doing to a beloved medium, and the lack of qualification they have for the positions of power and influence they hold. He has said on more than one occasion that he dislikes a creator's politics but loves their work.

He doesn't go past some name calling, the severity of which we'll have to agree to disagree on because I don't think misgendering is a real problem, even intentionally. He's saying that X creator is unqualified or the Y creator deserves to lose their job because they made a call to violence against others. that doesn't even approach the low things his opponents have done to him and others like him.

>just cause his opponents are more scummy than him.
His actions don't even begin to equate to what the other side does. I mean, you're comparing two very different things here, and one side is definitely worse, one side is dangerous, and vindictive and has taken action to hurt people they don't like, financially, professionally and physically, and it's not the guy from the Sunny D factory.
>>
>>95793299
>>95793725

>>
>>95786548
I hope this suddenly turn of Marvel isnt too extreme.
They seem to mass produce X-Men title. Its just their cash cow, they now milk to even their loss with their diversity comics or characters pushs.
I wish they would take a step back. Concentrate ion good stories because i dont see that they have that much writer talent to support that many books. And a long therm cash grab is better than short time.
>>
>>95801386
>you're comparing two very different things here
I compare two similar things here, two similar sets of behaviour and motivations. Just cause the strategies employed to execute their agendas and their success rate so far differ, doesn't mean that similarities between those agendas are non-existent.
Current "anti-SJW" comic crowd is not the equivalent of GG crowd. They can't create good comics or content, they want comics to be just in accordance to their personal taste and people responsible for them being different gone. That's exactly what the "other side" wants.
>>
>>95801490
There is no equivalent behaviour. Marvel writers should be fired for their unprofessionalism and utter lack of decorum. They are in a business, they aren't independent.

As far as lack of content creation from the anti-sjw crowd, thats incorrect. D&C has created comics.
>>

>>
>>95801024

>You blindly follow 40yo guy that demands comics about heroes in tights to be made according to his taste.

The whole reason anyone follows him is because they agree, in other words they want comics according to THEIR taste.

The current Marvel sjw editors do not want to make those comics, they want to make comics according to THEIR taste.

The result is that the existing comic book market is leaving Marvel, which means that unless that hole is filled by people interested in sjw comics, Marvel will collapse, this is what is currently happening.
>>
>>95801591
>As far as lack of content creation
Dropping the word "good" to create an easily defeatable strawman? Aren't you a shrewd little debater.
His comics are shit indie or tumblr level fanfics. Their content is unscripted, repeatable rambling, of shit quality. Pinnacle of Comic Justice crowd's creativity was flushing Ms.Marvel down the toilet. SJWs can't create, only destroy - D&C ilk has the same problem.

Time: 12:15 PM – 1:15 PM
Location: 1B03
Description: At the forefront of modern social debate is the nature of gender identity and how we move forward culturally with new understanding of the diversity within. Many contemporary graphic novels directly and indirectly address this debate by providing fictional and non-fictional representations of individuals expressing and explaining how the definitions of both identity and gender have evolved. This panel will explore how this discussion can enter into the classroom.

There is another Marvel Retailer-Only Panel news Newsarama's probably barred from reporting:
>Marvel announced to a room of retailers at New York Comic Con that Avengers #675, Guardians of the Galaxy #150, and Phoenix Resurrection #1 will all be getting 3D covers. But rather than the current Marvel Legacy lenticular covers, they will be more like the back cover ads on the existing Marvel Legacy covers. No more two-covers — it appears they may have learned their lesson after much creative criticism of the printing process behind them.

After many years, she has been given the chance for revenge by Mephisto, Lord of Lies, and her iron maiden prison has been transformed into golem-like armor as she wanders the land in search of her infamous demon sword – La Fleur du Mal – currently in the possession of Guillotine, another Marvel character that debuted in Marvel Contest of Champions.”

Don't approach them, don't antagonize them, familiarize yourself with where the emergency exits are and try to be in their proximity all the time. Keep your distance from Bleeding Cool reporters. If you're a minority and feel threatened by their presence or comments, share your concerns with security - they are there to protect you.

>Retailers Become Heated Over MARVEL Variants, Diversity In Closed-Doors NYCC Panel
>An exchange between direct market retailers and Marvel Comics editors became heated in the closing minutes of Marvel’s Retailer-Only panel at New York Comic Con 2017, starting after a unidentified retailer expressed concern about Marvel’s lenticular variants not selling well in his store.
>Marvel executive editors Tom Brevoort and Nick Lowe fielded the question, thanking the obviously upset retailer for his feedback. However, the retailer cut Lowe short to express his distaste for Marvel’s recent trend of replacing or altering its existing characters.
>The retailer speficially cited examples such as characters that don’t reflect the ethnicity, gender, or sexuality of their predecessors – specifically expressing his distaste for Iceman “kissing other men,” and Thor “becoming a woman.” The retailer’s complaints sparked an outcry among the other retailers present in the room, some echoing his frustration, with multiple attendees raising their voices to speak over each other.
>The original speaker called for “creating new characters and not messing with the old guys. The old guys are solid,” while a second said that Marvel has “never replaced its characters like this.”
>>
>>95805625
>Lowe pointed out that the changing nature of the identities of characters was engrained in Marvel’s history, pointing out examples from James Rhodes to Frog Thor. The retailer responded that Marvel has “never replaced them all at once before,” going on to say that he has had Marvel Cinematic Universe fans come into his store to find Avengers comic books only to leave “when they see that Thor is a woman and Captain America is a black man.”
>Lowe reiterated that Marvel is bringing many of its recently-absent characters including Steve Rogers back to the forefront in its “Legacy” initiative, and that Marvel would continue to focus on creating characters and stories that reflect “the world outside your window,” a longtime Marvel adage. He also stated that Marvel will continue to publish characters that fans of all backgrounds can connect to, before closing the panel at the planned time.
>This seemed to do little to calm down the increasingly heated retailers, who congregated around Marvel Senior Vice President of Marketing David Gabriel in the hall outside the panel, continuing to vociferously express their frustration and anger over these issues.

I can't see the Metal spin-offs selling that well to be honest.
>"It's a way to expand our line while staying true to the core conceits of our characters."

>“Black”, “Homo”, And “Freaking Females”: Heated Scenes At Marvel Retailer Q&A At New York Comic Con
>Then one retailer got lots of applause for objecting to the ordering process for the Marvel Lenticular covers, and got lots of applause, Bleeding Cool has covered repeatedly objections to the way Marvel Comics have handled this.
>But he kept going with his objections and soon he was bringing up the fact that Marvel now had female versions of characters instead of the males, with echoing shouts from the crowd of retailers about not changing all the characters all at once – which is something I have also hear Marvel executives echo. But things were getting tense.
>Two older retailers started raising their voices arguing about diversity and how it does not work. The words “black”, “homo” and “freaking females” were used multiple times, at which point other retailers started to boo those retailers and the room started to turn on itself. Marvel editor Nick Lowe tried to get calm by saying that Marvel try and they tell stories for everyone, that the old heroes are not going anywhere, neither are the new ones, there is room for them both.
>The panel ended sharply, with Marvel‘s Senior Vice President of Sales David Gabriel saying that he would give out his e-mail address to any retailer who still had concerns. And with that everyone got kicked out of the area.
>The conversations still continued. Here’s one retailer challenging Marvel‘s Senior Vice President of Sales David Gabriel immediately afterwards…

Which is is fine but D&C sometimes doesn't even fully read the comics he buys or he jumps at the middle of a storyline and makes assumptions about things (his Gamora review), gets upset when he doesn't understand what's happening (His Rebirth Deathstroke review), obsesses too much about tits like SJWs do but for the other reasons, and it's always going on about "muh military".

Sci-fi shows catering to a white male audience because they are the ones watching them, DAMN THIS RACIST PATRIARCHY!!

Peoole like to see others call out the shit they hate, there are ton of leoole comolaining about SJWs in games and other media but not in comics and to see specifically from comics there's like 2 or 3 people.

And I can tell the majority don't read rhem because they agree with what D&C says when he erroneously makes an assumption of an issue he read that's in the middle or in the end of a storyline because he didn't read the previous issues and gets lost and just gets upset about it.

Gamora killing the last of her race for example, he said it was harsh and they didn't deserve it and that they seem like good guys. Had he read the previous issue he would know they backstabbed her and left her for dead and when asked for her mercy she repaid in kind.

He also complained aboit the writer making the male Badoon hate females when that has been a thing since the Badoon were created. Both Badoon males and females hate each other and only get together to mate, that was a thing since the 70's.

Only like 3 people in the comments corrected him and everyone else was more into supporting what he said and just complaining about SJWs.

Honestly it's annoying how people excuse D&C when he doesn't have full context of a story nor cares about it and makes assumptions about stuff he doesn't know.

Citation. Also I'm pretty sure Gibbons is pissed off currently as well, they didn't tell him that Manhattan was going to be in Rebirth and I doubt they told him much about Doomsday Clock. I really doubt he'll do anything about it though except for some snarky remarks, dude's cashing out with the upcoming Watchmen tv series and Kingsman sequel.

You are so mad about this. They couldn't used characters that were already a family instead of forcing this shit. They could've used a writer that's not awful at team books and hasn't done countless phoned in crap at the Big Two for a paycheck. Everything about it sounds bad, sure there's a possibility of it being good but it's far more likely that it's going to suck. If you're around the Bandai booth, just ask a random employee if they know about Gundam Versus. If no, just leave it at that. If yes, ask if they know why NA GVS hasn't been updated yet.

I was there today and noticed Gundam Versus wasn't being advertised at all despite being a new release and a multiplayer title. Sorta as if they want the game to fail. I would have asked the staff myself, but the guys at /m/ suggested this to me long after I left.

I disagree with his viewpoint on Brown, mostly because I have eyes and have seen Brown being a thug. I've also seen how massive he is and how small the cop was in comparison. Brown was going to die by someone's hand before he was 25. Cop. Gang banger. Someone was going to murder him because of his own behavior.

But there are genuinely bad cops who are every bit as thuggish as Michael Brown. Those cops need to be fired before they go too far and jailed when they do. The manlet who killed Michael Brown wasn't that cop.

That said. I love Static, so I will still give this a chance to be entertaining and engaging. I disagree with Green Arrow's politics, but he's still a damn great character when he's written properly. The Grell run is one of my favorite comics of the era. I'm willing to listen to politics I disagree with, if the person is intellectually engaging and not just shouting insults at me like a Marvel staffer.

The writer of Static starts doing that and I'm done. Entertain me. Engage my brain. I'm there. Scream and call me names and I will just go read the back issues.
>>
>>95811419
Well said. Totally agree
>>
>>95811306
what's the point of reading any standalone book, then?
>>
>>95811306
How do you get attached to any character without reading or watching something they are in? I guess like gwenpool when you like the design now that I think about.

Nothing wrong with it. My position when I started getting into literature while ago was similar, I went to /lit/, saw the most memed writers in both popular and niche circles and started reading the works. There's too much fiction out there and this I feel is the best way to find good work. I can't freely feel adventurous, go in the Bookstore and pick up anything, that would be retarded.
But there needs to be a distinction made of where people are liking stuff because of quality and because they just feel attached to genre/writers/IPs and so on. If you just follow the trend based on characterfaggotry for example, you are not going to find satisfying stuff because the values that characterfags put in good work tend to be different from the values that define actual good work.
Ultimately though, even after all the filter you have to be able to judge a work on your own. What's the point of blindly reading the most obvious example of good fiction or something that has your favorite character/genre and not knowing whether you actually liked it or not.
>>
>>95811306
>being this retarded

A good story will make you feel attachment to character, retard. Should I not read Y: The Last Man because muh favourite superhero Green Lantern isn't in it?

Contrary to contrarian belief, there are a few good superhero books being put out by DC and Marvel at the moment (New Super-Man, Deathstroke, Doom Patrol, Mister Miracle, Punisher The Platoon)

>Superman wins by killing Zod. By snapping his neck. And as this moment was building, as Zod was out of control and Superman was (for the first time since the fishing boat 90 minutes ago) struggling to actually save innocent victims instead of casually catching them in mid-plummet, some crazy guy in front of us was muttering “Don’t do it…don’t do it…DON’T DO IT…” and then Superman snapped Zod’s neck and that guy stood up and said in a very loud voice, “THAT’S IT, YOU LOST ME, I’M OUT,” and his girlfriend had to literally pull him back into his seat and keep him from walking out and that crazy guy was me. That crazy guy was me, and I barely even remember doing that, I had to be told afterward that I’d done that, that’s how caught up in betrayal I felt. And after the neck-snapping, even though I stuck it out, I didn’t give a damn about the rest of the movie.
