Who’s your favorite Disney Princess ? What Disney princess do you wish was apart of the line up ? What Princess would you take out of the line up ?
>>

>What Disney princess do you wish was apart of the line up ?
I would add Giselle .
>>
>>
>>99922810
1. Tiana
2. Esmeralda
3. Pocahontas
>>
>>99922810
Can’t decide between Rapunzel, Belle or Pocahontas as my fave
>>
In order: Belle, Tiana, Jasmine, Ariel, Rapunzel, Giselle, Aurora, Elsa, Anna, Ella, Pocahontas, Mulan, Snow White, Merida.

It would be Tiana in the top spot, but Belle can take the knot.
>>
I really wish Elena had gotten a movie and than a cartoon so she could be in the Disney Princess line up. She’s a good character and a good role model for kids.
>>
Are Moana, Elsa and Anna ever going to be in the official lineup ? It’s weird that they’re not in the lineup yet. Elsa and Anna were going to be in the lineup but they were too popular.
>>
>>
>>99922810
In terms of design Jasmine is by far the hottest but in terms of their character Mulan is easily the best.

Jasmine just cries about "muh twue wuv" while Mulan shoulders the brutal realities of patriarchal duty to save her father and country and just happens to find love along the way.

>>99923131
I know of a girl who plays her at the parks.
>>
She has no personality but I've fapped to Aurora so damn much
>>
>>99922810
>Who’s your favorite Disney Princess ?
I have a lot of favorites. Aurora, Ariel, Mulan, Tiana and Cinderella are my favorites.
>>
>>99922810
Jasmine or Aurora are best girls
>>
1. Aurora
2. Elsa und Anna
3. Remove Tiana
When Disney finishes sacking Fox for all they're worth they should add Anastasia to the line-up as well.
>>
>>99923665
Elsa is technically a Queen but then again Mulan isn't a princess either. What do you call the wife of a general? Whatever the term is its definitely more bad ass than princess.
>>
>>99923244
I never understood the “they were too popular” reasoning.

By logic, if they’re popular, you can sell merchandise of them. You don’t lose the ability to make more movies just because they’ve joined the “Disney princess” lineup.
>>
I love even if her movie isn’t that good. I like her movie but but I’ve seen people say her movie isn’t good. I think even if her movie isn’t good, Tiana her self is a good character.
>>
When is moana gonna be coronated?
>>
>>99924018
One of the worst aspects of her movie is that she spends most of the movie as a fucking frog, and this after all the hype about the first black princess. You don't get to brag about that if she spends most of the movie as a fucking animal.
>>
>>
Even though I always loved Jasmine's midriff sometimes I wonder in hindsight is a more realistic Islamic dress might've worked better. This one is maybe a bit too ornate for animation but something like it might've been nice.

I know Disney isn't about realism but Jasmine has always stuck out to me as the most sexualized Disney princess so maybe something more toned down could've worked better.

Probably because they want to keep making merch under the Frozen brand rather than the general disney princess brand to make it easier to market/recognize. So until their popularity dies down they'll just be their own thing I guess. marketing is strange world.

Belle, Tiana, and Rapunzel are probably my favorites.

If only the official princesses do count, then Jasmine and Rapunzel I guess. Jasmine is my childhood crush and Rapunzel is the best mix of classic and new. I mean "older" princesses usually just don't have much personality and newer ones are just too out of place sometimes (act too modern in conservative fairy tale settings).

Official Princesses only? Belle or Ariel. Disney heroines? Elsa, Esmeralda or maybe Helga Sinclair.

I wish they'd add Kida to the lineup. And Anna and Elsa, but the Frozen franchise is still too strong and profitable, I guess
>>
>>
>>99923244
I'm sure Moana will be added to the lineup within a couple of years. Elsa and Anna will be there too, once Frozen as a cashcow franchise runs out of steam
>>
>>99923911
I guess the Princess lineup is a way to give the heroine's popularity a sort of resurrection boost. They wouldn't sell that much on their own any more, so they're coronated into the Princess lineup so that some hype can be milked from the coronation and they can help add sales to the Princess brand.

But Disney doesn't want to "waste" the princess hype by using it on heroines who are already on their own way more popular than the Princess brand. For now.

>>
>>99936458
Brave was ok but it could have been amazing. I enjoyed it when i watched it and haven't felt the urge to watch it again a single time since. Merida could have been a much more interesting character too. I think the various changes of direction during development really kneecapped it.

>how do you felt when your daughter wearing something slut.
^lmfao
Anyway, yeah, although Agrabah is indicated to be an Arabian city/kingdom(?), Jasmine looks way more like an Indian princess to me (also she has a Bengal tiger), and bare midriff is not considered salacious or "something slut" in India. It was probably the same way in very old Middle East. Those palces are very hot after all, unless there's a very strong cultural incentive not to (like in the last 50yrs thanks to the CIA accidentally bringing Islamic fundie conservatives to power in the area) then people are going to keep cool by baring skin.
>>
>>99936551
Even if the culture was inspired by "Indian" culture it would've been really Mughal culture which was in fact, at the level of the royal court, closer to Turkish and Persian culture than the indigenous culture of the subcontinent. A Mughal princess would have more in common with an Ottoman or Safavid princess than a Hindu woman.
>>
>>99923131
She's sort of in a gray area of being one anyway. She got an LE doll (usually reserved for movie characters only, every single other one was either an official princess or their love interest/villain), park actress, and has a lot of merch. It's just that she won't be in the 'group shot' artworks/merches like in OP image but is that really especxially important to anyone besides kids who want to be able to buy one peice of merch with all their faves on it?
Man it wouldve been nice to watch a theater quality Elena movie though.

>Even if the culture was inspired by "Indian" culture it would've been really Mughal culture
Nah, why would it have to be Mughal culture unless the designer was being a real stickler about historical accuracy? I'm thinking they took inspiration from more modern indian outfits (sari with midriff-baring blouse, or blouse and pajama pants).

I guess my point is, it's more likely Disney didn't really care that Agrabah had some historically-inaccurate Indian style cues and Jasmine is probably not drawn in, specifically, a" harem outfit" like that image said but rather a fake and made up one with some Indian insp.
>>

>>99936693

Jasmine can be annoying and bratty, but compared to most of the other princesses she's just more interesting to me because she's so different and flawed in a "I'm right and you're not" way instead of the "innocent and naive" way that the other princesses before her had been. Her and Mulan are both really willful and determined to fulfill their goals and work as actual characters instead of just love interests.

Aladdin was also one of my favorite movies and I haven't rewatched it in forever so that's also influencing my opinion.
>>
>>99936742
>Nah, why would it have to be Mughal culture
Because it was clearly inspired by Islamic culture and the Mughals are the quintessential Islamic Empire in India.

If they were taking cues from Hindu culture that would be like drawing a German princess with Mongol clothing.

>I guess my point is, it's more likely Disney didn't really care that Agrabah had some historically-inaccurate Indian style cues and Jasmine is probably not drawn in, specifically, a" harem outfit" like that image said but rather a fake and made up one with some Indian insp.
Then how come when Jafar had her as his slave her outfit was virtually identical? Because it was obviously a harem outfit. The impact of her in that outfit was a lot less because it was barely any different from what she usually wore, unlike the contrast between Leia's regal outfit and the slave outfit.

Being human isn't enough, Elena, Sofia and Kida are all human (and princesses, though that part doesn't actually matter, see: Mulan) but not "actual" Disney princesses. Jasmine was the first modern princess. Despite the movie was still about falling in love and marrying a guy she just met, she had her own personality and goals. Earlier princesses fell in love with the guy on the first sight and only the circumstances kept them apart. While the relationship of her and Aladdin is still unrealistically fast and doesn't even appear that much (actually she has the shortest screen time of all the princesses in all movies).

In previous D movies the heroines were really put on a pedestal, Jasmine was much more relatable, especially if you was a kid around that time. She wore pants, she did tomboyish things, she was funny and cool, not to mention she seduced Jafar. People like to write down the slave scene as some sexy shit but it was really meaningful, the heroine actually doing something on her own. Like Leia in SW who was of course mostly a damsel in distress but she wasn't just there she did important things on her own.

I want to tie her up with that hair and tell Cass to do lewd things to her.

I'd say Belle qualifies for being a modern princess as well, and was a year before Aladdin
