Remembered the subject this time edition

What do I need to care for my boots?
>Old cotton t shirt (one for cleaning, another for applying conditioners)
>Horsehair brush ($10-15)
>Wooden shoe trees ($10-15)
>Light conditioner like Lexol/Bick4/renovateur
>Heavy conditioner (if you live in terrible snow/rain areas) Sno seal/Obernauf LP
>Don't forget that boots need time to dry properly, rotate them and rest them

How do I deal with x stain?
>mud: allow it to dry then brush off
>salt: water and cloth as soon as possible
>saturated wet: allow the boot to dry for a full day, stuff with newspaper
>scuffs and scratches: buff vigorously with horsehair brush

couple of months depending how much you wear them
natural chromexcel is pretty characteritic and pull-up leathers are difficult to color match, unless you get the exact same leather belt

I had bought a Hank's belt a while back when I was tired of my shitty belts falling apart after a few months. Not sure if it's new ownership or what but the website was full of pop-ups and spam the last time I visited it looking to get another belt in a different color and size I just gave up.
Hank's 100 year belt. Going to just resize the one I have and avoid their website from now on.

Maybe instead of 4 different variations on the OCBD there could be a western denim shirt, a thick cotton plain one like a chamois shirt also, no striped OCBD? Why 4 pairs of chinos? Navy chinos already look like slacks and gray chinos aren’t that versatile so swap both of them for something else like bedford cords and I don’t know another pair of jeans you can thrash. Why not black derbies instead if tan and maybe like a loafer instead of gray sneakers and some type of work boot instead of CDB.

borderline worthless infographic. only good for helping a retarded person with the absolute basics.
thats why all most of those infographics especially ones that dont use pictures of real garments w/ fit examples are worthless shit
>>
>>18718134
It's boring and not looking as good as the Reddit fags would let you think. If you have no idea how to dress and your starting point is a Starcraft convention tee shirt and cargo shorts, and you never groomed, yeah, it's amazing.
If you have a minimal amount of taste and personality, it very quickly becomes boring and limitative. I know because I went there. Those are also very American coded and do not, at all, take into account personal circumstances such as line of work, climate, culture.

Now it's not bad in the sense that it can show you what a capsule wardrobe is, how to show restraint with colors (get a palette and stick with it at first), how to mix and match items. Then it's on you to start swapping their examples to what works for you. For example I find OCBD boring, but a denim shirt works just as well. Or linen. Or something with more texture. Desert boots are fucking goofy but chelseas work for me. Chinos are mostly boring, but a dark blue and dark grey jeans are my go to.

Basically treat it as a template but do not apply as is for your wardrobe.

If you guessed optometrist you are correct.

Here's what I want to buy: Timex Marlin 34mm, I'm hesitant because I didn't notice it was "rose gold" and not pure yellow gold. How do you even match this color in your outfit, would it work with a normal gold buckle belt?

I want to start building an actually respectable collection rather than cycle through the latest designer bullshit constantly
What should I start with?
I'm not sure about classic chypres and fougeres, I like Antaeus but I feel like it's too dressed up and mature for me; Kouros isn't my thing on the other hand and as far as fougeres go I much prefer the GIT/CW dna
Overall I tend to prefer orientals

A few recent impressions.
Tiziana Terenzi Vele: More like "Vile." Initially, it smells like slightly rotten, freshly cut cucumber and makeup (is this what they call "powdery"?). It gets a little better after an hour or so, but overall, I didn't like it at all. Imagine trusting Fragrantica on notes.
Orto Parisi Viride: Harsh and spicy, mostly cloves. It could be good in cold weather. It's kind of like Ambre Sultan, but harsh instead of comfy.
Orto Parisi Risvelium: A bitter grapefruit pith/zest scent that lasts a long time. It's kind of like a good espresso for me—bitter but enjoyable. The thing is, I don't really want to taste the bitterness all day long. I don't know how to feel about this scent; it's polarizing.
Frederic Malle Eau de Magnolia: A pleasant, natural, and delicate floral summer smell. Turned into a skin smell in about 4-5 hours. Somewhat feminine but I don't really care about that if I like the smell. Overall, very nice. Too bad about the price though.
>>
>>18718214
To me Risvelium smells like a tropical take on Kouros

What makes a collection respectable? What do you currently have and like that you consider respectable? Do you have a monthly budget it mind for sampling, or can you access boutiques/high end department stores to try stuff for free?

Without knowing any of this I would first suggest sampling the masculine Guerlains in the square bottles (heritage, habit rouge, vetiver, etc) as well as some Chanels like Allure Homme EDT, and some of the earlier private line stuff like Cuir de Russie and Sycomore.
>>
>>18718217
>What makes a collection respectable?
I would say frags whose primary focus isn't to be mass pleasing or sexually attractive but to be interesting and complex yet wearable compositions
>What do you currently have and like that you consider respectable?
Nothing, I have dozens of samples that range from basic shit like LMLP to avant garde niche but very few of them I would say are worth a full bottle, either because they're boring or, on the other end of the spectrum, too experimental (e.g. Fantomas is fun to wear a couple times but that's it)
>monthly budget
Not really. If something is worth it I'll buy it. A mall not far from me carries some of the more well-known higher end brands like MFK, Lutens, Byredo etc so I can sample things there too
>habit rouge
Will I like this if I disliked Nicolai NYI?
I should sample more of Guerlain's stuff anyway
Thanks for the other recs

>Looking for a great clothing piece that i can cherish and be my signature look

High waisted pants are king
>>
What if someone wore high waisted pants, but sagged them down to their thighs?
>>
>>18717965
Agreed. Low rise puts pressure on the low belly, which i find fucks with my digestion. high rise sits at the natural waist... less pressure needed to hold them up, and my guts can move better somehow.
>>
>>18717992
>>
>>18717965
i have a short torso so some high rise pants can be too high on me, and im completely comfortable w/ dressing like guy on the left.
low rises always look good on me because im skinny.
my sweet spot is like 11", a little higher on looser pants and a little lower on straight cuts and slimmer.
about half an inch under or right at the bellybutton looks the best on most guys.
