Physically, I am just improving myself through better eating at the moment. I am focused on mental discipline through meditation, though. I am able to get through a minimum of 30 minutes everyday in the 2-3 hours I am in a silent and peaceful environment.

I've got my fifth spartan race coming up in a few weeks and I can't decide if I want to lean down to show off more muscle (and also make some of the obstacles easier) or just keep trying to build muscle.
>>
>>43126487
1) Girls
2) Can you give me some tips on that?
>>
is the guy on OPs pic natty?
my mind is telling me no
but my body, my body is also saying no
>>
>>43126529
I don't know what your situation is. Are you trying to lose weight or gain muscle mass?
>>
>>43126487
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.
>>
>>43126528
Spartan race have lots of running, right?

>What are your gym goals, anons?
I want to feel comfortable with my shirt off, so need bigger arms/chest/back and more ab work for definition. 1/2/3/4 is the more immediate goal.

I dont usually post in these threads but fucking hell my life has gone to shit

>Finish undergrad degree
>Spend summer getting clinical experience so I can into medical school
>This barely takes up any time so I resort to Vidya with good friends or alone most of the day
> Get to the stage of writing my application and reading the relevant books
> Can't bring myself to do any of it because sitting around with no structure to my day has reverted me to the motivation and discipline levels of a 15 year old
>Spend all day being anxious about not getting into school because I can't bring myself to read books or write my application, and all my pals have moved away for work and I live in the rural UK with nothing to do, nowhere to work, and no way of meeting anyone
>Vidya isn't the issue because I played even when I was productive, even now I barely play 3 hours a night unless I get suckered into a good story
>Spend all day every day worrying about not getting in but don't do anything about it
Why am I retarded guys

Yeah hes on steroids or test supplements

He has recently had some accelerated balding and will likely be type 2-3 on the norwood scale by his mid 20s

1. losing weight and gaining muscle
2. going to the gym, doing physical things to improve my health outside of the gym
>>
>>43126581
yes and it varies based on which level the race is. The running portion has never been an issue. To be honest, none of it is really an issue. I can complete the obstacles with probably a 95% success rate. I just want to improve my time and make it easier.

Too many people disregard the running portion and end up getting smoked halfway through the race.
>>
>>43126662
GO TO THE GYM NOW
PUMP THAT WEIGHT
LIGHT WEIGHT BABY
But in all seriousness, just go outside and do something, anything. You're in the habit of wasting your days, and the only way of getting out of that is actually making yourself do it.
>>
Has anyone here tried TRX suspension training before
>>
>>43126542
No, probably low doses of roids
>>
>>43126826
I'm tempted to go for a run desu, if I build up to a 10k I'm hoping it'll add some structure to my life and have a knock on effect. ATM I just sit all day procrastinating the reading of my books
>>
1) I want to weigh 190 (6'2, 210 current) and hopefully shed my spare tire
2) I'm gonna keep boxing and maybe eat less fast food

Why is there so much going on here?
>>

We have over 350 people and we will get 500-1000 next week
>>
>Want to get into weight lifting
>Have absolutely awful form

Like I do my best to pay attention and adjust, but I still worry that I'm just on the road to snap city.

Should I fork over some cash for a trainer to babysit me until I get the hang of it?
>>
I've signed up for this horse riding & archery / minihiking trip I found on facebook. I've always wanted to get into hiking and I didn't know how. Hoping this is gonna be my gateway towards the Appalachian trail. And maybe towards some friends too...

Wish me luck bros.

Y not just count calories so you have some chance of succeding?
>>

are there any mongols in the group?
stay safe anon
>>
>>43128245
Nah, just eastern europeans ( like me ).
>>
>>43127753
I know I will and I'm not even sure about the quality of the trainer. It just so happens to be the only trainer at my commercial mom gym who didn't tell me I'd kill myself with a low bar squat.

>>
>>43128336
I don't think you can go from zero to the republic just like that m8. Plato just so happens to be fucking crazy.

You can actually try to get *some* hang of what he was trying to do by reading the extremely uncharitable account Karl Popper gives of his political system in his "The open society and his ennemies". This isn't to say that this covers all of what Plato said, or all facets of his system(s), but it's gonna give you *a* basic gestalt. (There's many Gestalt, of course.)

You might also want to check out Russel's overview of Plato in his "History of Western philosophy".

Just arrived in Australia on Thursday. Got a couple job interviews tomorrow. Gonna go to bondi beach today for a nice walk and a read. Any Sydney lads got any tips for gyms?
>>
>>43126681
Probably a stupid question but how was he allowed to compete? Wouldnt they have tested him for roiding and automatically disqualified him?
>>
>>43126487
1000lb deadlift at 220 is ultimate goal. Already strong as shit. Want to be strongest to ever live.
>>
>>43128464
Everybody who competes roids, and bodybuilding associations know it. It's very easy to get past drug tests by cycling off and using short esters
>>
>>43128505
>hope you have god tier deadlift genes
>road like you hate your heart

Going to go to the rock climbing wall in my uni gym sometime this week in hopes to get out, meet people, and finding an actual hobby.

My counselor and I got into how some of the things I do is partly to blame for my loneliness.
It all came back to how I assume the worst will happen so I avoid the situation entirely, I.e. asking people I know to hang out.
He told I need to try otherwise I’ll never go anywhere with fixing my problems.

The thought makes me anxious but I’ll try.
When I ask my oneitis to chill and she says no, I’ll know never to do that again.

wat do you guys talk aboot on the discourd? is it just maymays?

Looking for a metal water bottle that is quite large with a handle and without a plastic cap. Tips?
>>
>>43128336
Well, the problem is really more of the history surrounding the book at the time it was written. For instance, I remember there was a portion in the book that talks about the importance of astrology to birth order and moral character. Or the mathematical likelihood of this affecting a person.

It's quite like reading a book written about Phlogiston, and how having excess Phlogiston allows you to lose weight. Like it doesn't make sense to us, because our understanding of science is fundamentally remote from theirs.

Likewise, it's very similar to how older philosophical works drew heavily from the most read book at the time. For Socrates, he'll often compare to the works of Homer.

>In the Illiyad, Achillies was a huge faggot
>Therefore, faggots are the best warriors
>So, we should encourage faggotry to protect the state

That's a gross simplification of the logic system, but it's earnestly not far off. It's very similar to how old inquests used to be completely based on biblical logic, because it was the only body of knowledge they could really draw from.

>WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Honestly? Skim over a commented version, ready 5 pages a day of the real one and google shit that comes up, or just watch a few lectures on it.

Dialogues are a shit way of conveying information succinctly.

I feel like as soon as you understand Evola's conception of the "two world" and the role it's supposed to play in a normative political and social framework, Plato becomes understandable, especially if you couple this understanding with the interpretation Popper gives of Plato's work. The whole business concerning Idea becomes much more intelligible once you understand that the whole point of their existence is the justification of a rigid social structure, the very rigidity of which is supposed to reflect the rigidity of the "ideal" world. The "ideal" is, of course, inherently difficult to see and reserved for an elite few.

(I don't recommend reading Evola because I somehow agree with him, but on this point he managed to be a rather clear expositor of a type of doctrine the social goal of which is to be stable, unchanging, hierarchical, orderly, etc. I happen to believe this is also what Plato was trying to achieve.)

Jesus Christ are you me.
Literally just got to leave the house to force yourself to do things. Get dressed go out to the library to do what you need to do.
>>
>>43128555
I wanna start rock climbing too, anon. How is it as a complete beginner? What if your grip strenght is shit?
>>
>>43128767
Haven’t gone in a long time, but my biggest problem was my fear of heights.
It was never too hard to climb.
>>
>>43128767
You shouldn't worry too much about failing at it, it's your first time. Should just find one close to you and try it out.

Been waking up at 4:30 am every morning to gym for the past 3 weeks now, I feel like starting off the day being productive helps guide the rest of the day to be a productive one, even if it isn't, i'll know that at least i'm not putting off gym cause i've already done it.

I've been reading a lot more, trying to aim for a book a month, mainly autobiographies on successful people, like arnie, a few special forces guys, Obama, Richard Branson etc. Seeing how they came to success gives an idea of the sort of path they took.

Been cutting vidya out of my life, i don't find myself itching to play it, just maybe like 2-3 hours a week. Learning a 2nd language, trying to no-porn.

But i need to write up a resume to find another job. I've been putting it off for ages, hoping i can spend more time studying as well as finals are in 4 weeks. Wish me luck /fit/
>>
>>43128555
This is the sort of thing I feel weird doing alone, when I imagine it everyone is there with a belaying buddy or group. How do you do it?
>>

But the entire discord is so diluted.
I joined for SIG duscussion and it's ONE section of a massive group of people that probably aren't even aware of the SIG component.

This is a poor experience.

>Weigh 120kg
>Want to go down to 70kg
>Only have bicycle and walking
Can I reach this goal using only those? If so how?
>>
>>43130601

Yes, most of it would be calorie counting though. But still biking a lot would help.
>>
>Get bike ready for nice ride
>Notice the tyres have a weight limit of 90kg
F-fuck, can I risk it?
>>
>>43126487

By 2018 I want to bench 195 lbs, squat 250 and deadlift 270 for 5x5. I also want to be able to skip rope for at least 10 mins straight and run a 10k in 50 min asap. I need some condition for boxing.
Just lifting 3x a week and do cardio every other day. ATM I'm ahead of my schedule on my lifts and almost done with the cardio part.
>>
You're all lamentable
>>
>>43126487
So my weight in July was around 230. My weight today is 198. I’ve been combining 1.5-2 hours of cardio a day with keto and intermittent fasting, sometimes up to 36 hours fasting, since September 2nd. I just feel better. My ultimate goal is to get to 160 and start building muscle from there. I already have a decent starting point for building muscle, so that should be easy once I get to the weight I want to get to. I figure I’ll be at my goal by February or March. Then I’ll start the real sculpting.
>>
>>43130838
You'll lose (some of) that base as you lose weight. It's difficult to see how you can get your body in this kind of catabolic state without having it engage in some muscle breakdown. You're probably in a better position to make strength gain as a slightly overweight person than as a skelly. I'm not saying you should change your way though.
>>
>>43130858
I still lift once a week for about an hour to make sure my muscles don’t completely disappear. Should I be lifting more as I lose more weight?
>>
>>43126542
he is famously on roids

he's been on it so long he's already experiencing the hair loss

I would simply try to make my diet more high in protein than anything else. My knowledge is worse than noob level on this, but the problem as I see it is that you need to trigger catabolic processes in order to lose fat, but these will also trigger muscle breakdown event. Now, these happens simultaneously with muscle protein synthesis event, and so the goal is for the rate of breakdown to be lower than the rate of synthesis. Insulin seems to act to stop muscle breakdown, but it's also gonna prevent fat burning. It would then seem that the only thing you can do is keep your muscle protein synthesis rate as elevated as it can be. This is more likely to happen with a high intake of quality protein.

But you need to research this shit more.

Here's a source that relates to muscle protein synthesis / breakdown and nutrition. (It doesn't specifically address your situation but so what?)
