broke a 42 day fast three days ago.

I went from 262lb to 198lb during the fast.

broke it with watermelon and some tomato juice

today i've had tomato soup and some veggies.

Went up to 203lb when i broke fast but im 201 now lol, I don't even have any cravings for sugary foods or fatty foods, have literally just been craving chicken/turkey and veggies.

i thought with breaking this fast, i would go crazy with cravings for crisps and chocs and stuff cos /fat/ just kept insulting me saying i was gonna gain all the weight back after the fast lol.

Couldn't even finish the tomato soup before i felt full today and i've been doing 5-6 miles of cardio since breaking the fast and doing my 16kg dumbbell lifts.

On 18/6 you can just drop the evening meal if it wasn't a tough day, that'll put you on OMAD automatically.

Both of these are fine fasting programs. Get a myfitnesspal account, track how much you're actually eating on that one meal. Its predicted weight loss is fairly accurate, and that will give you a sense.

I haven't really tried fasting before. The past couple of years I lost about 60 pounds just doing CICO and trying my best to reduce carbs as a bonus. But in general, eating better and eating much less has just made me realize how fucking insane it is how much, how often, and what kind of food people eat everyday. I just hate myself right now because I went from fat to skinny-fat but I still want to lose more body fat before I start trying to put on muscle.

I do have a question though. I don't plan to fast for more than a week at a time just yet. Im deciding on doing a mix of fasting and OMAD like 47/1 kinda deal and im wondering what people suggest to eat for that meal? Should it just be all fat and protein and avoid carbs like the plague? I assume it should be a small meal but is the goal to go as calorically dense as possible or still eat way under maintenance for one day, like 1000 calories.

Part of me wants to just keep fasting because im scared that my binge eating mentality will take over and im better off just not touching food ever again in my life.

Update: took it 8 hours ago and feel fine, no reflux, since this is the only time I've taken it on an empty stomach hopefully that won't be enough to cause an ulcer. I'll see if it affects my weight loss tomorrow but I kind of doubt it. Fasting vs low-carb

Low-carb diets burn off fat even better than a fast. I can see the benefits of this but what I'm bothered by is how much lbm the 10 day fasting patients lost, that seems absurd. A total loss of 21lbs with 13.5lb of that being lbm most of which would have to mostly be muscle seems insane. I know lbm isn't just muscle but I doubt autophagy consumed that much skin and other proteins so it would have to be primarily muscle. Even 10lbs of muscle is a fucking lot of muscle. Unless perhaps they didn't account for water retention and considered loss of water as lbm loss? I just came back from weightlifting, i did low volume high weights. Squats/ bench/rows with some accesories. I'm gonna do some work now and then i'll break the 22 hour fast with lentil soup, oats and fruits, yoghurt,protein shake (maybe some dark chocolate too because i'm a faggot) sleep like a motherfucker and then go to kickboxing and eat the next day.

My weight is steady at 90 kg at 1.80 cm height. Ideally i would be at 85 but i'll try reaching that once the weather gets warmer. That's me in the pic, i don't think i have too much bodyfat.

This hasn't been studied for long periods of time, but autophagy occurs during OMAD, so it starts within a 24 hour window. Peak autophagy occurs at around day 5 and continues as long as the fast goes.

I think the autophagy guys recommend 5 days as a rule of thumb, but I haven't looked that deeply into it.

I mixed in intermittent 21/3hr fasting with 2-3-4-5 day water fasts depending on how I was feeling. Sometimes I ate IF style for a few days in a row, sometimes I finished a 5 day fast, ate once and went back into another fast. Make sure when you do eat you are getting a mix of good nutritious food. Green leafys, healthy fats. I supplemented with cod liver oil, zinc&magnesium and vitamin C, a garlic clove and a table spoon of apple cider vinegar after I ate to stop the insulin from spiking too much.

I did a bit of HIIT cardio on the day after I ate. I also rubbed under and around my shoulders, pecs, belly and thighs with st ives collagen skin renewing cream or whatever. I also stayed hydrated as a motherfucker at all times.

Of all of this, I've got no idea if any of it helped in avoiding loose skin, but I don't think any of it could have hurt. Stick with it anon, I feel amazing and look better than I ever have. I'm now starting leangains.
