Anybody knows of any ROMs for the Note 4 (Samsung) that have a near stock experience or something similar? I just want to get rid of touchwizz forever. Would it be possible to keep some of the functionalities, such as S-pen, and a proper camera app?

Thanks beforehand.

I fell for the iPhone meme after my G4 boot-looped and I just sold it. I've never hated a piece of technology more. What's the best phablet right now? V20? I'm scared it will bootloop.

It will have a 4/64 version as well, just like the G4+.

I doubt they'll only make a 2gb version of the G5 Plus when the G4 Plus comes with 2, 3 and 4gb of ram.

Updated my Zuk Z2 Pro to Nougat yesterday, really happy.

Battery life is a little better.
Camera is much better in low light
Manual camera controls
FP is more accurate on wet/moist fingers
Bluetooth device battery stat now shows in status bar

Those are just what I've noticed from the one day using it.

Anyone interested in low light shots I took?
They're not the best, but for the price I paid for this phone I'm really happy with the results.

How much do you think the Mi5C will cost once it reaches th resellers? I'm hoping it won't be greater than $150.
>>
>>58971653
Why would you expect it to be less than $200?
>>

I think you have to stay on touchwiz to keep the S-Pen features. Maybe try find a touchwiz ROM that's themed to look like stock android.

Looking at ditching my Note 4 and getting the Huawei Mate 9 MHA-AL00.. With the 6GB of ram. As I understand these do not come with Play Store etc.. Because they're the chinese version. Is there a way to install all the google goods. Or is it better saving the hassle and getting the 4GB ram version.. Would there a noticeable performance difference?
>>
>>58971986
Dirty-installing the gapps package in chinese google-less ROMs almost always end up in disaster (constant force-closes) or very high battery draining. I'd check if it's possible to flash the european/worldwide firmware in that model.

Zuk z2 owner here gonna make a quick review.
Screen is meh.
build quality is okish ( broke the sims card slot when U pulled it the first time but the rest is okay).
Audio is good.
camera is okay.
battery life is good but not that good
it heats a lot.
it is actually not that much faster than my old oneplusone.
software wise ZUI is shit so I put RR but will probably try lineage and dirty unicorn and it triggers the shit out of my autism that u-touch doesn't work well with custom ROM.
So overall the phone is good for its price but I'm not sure I would have bought it if it was more expensive.

>>
>>58973089

This phone is the tantamount proof as to why specs are fucking retarded and it's the actual experience that matters. People keep sperging about the 820 inside this thing and then disregard the shitastic buggy mess of a system, the dim screen that is shit to read in the sunlight, the absolutely awful camera that is legitimately the worst one I've seen under low light conditions in any modern smartphone, the fact it might as well be a soap bar due to how slippery it is and so on and so forth.

Need a new phone real bad. I was considering a chinkphone that needs the following:
>$150 or so
>at least 5"

>stock Android with at least Marshmallow (preferably Nougat)
>has an active community on XDA if the above can't be acheived for whatever reason

Wondering if I should ditch my Sony Z2 to get a Galaxy S8 when it releases or is there some other phones I should consider first?

I've been thinking of a Z5 Premium or the latest sony flagship.

I've always gotten a bad taste of HTC's except for the glory days with the HTC Touch Pro with Windows 6.3.
>>
>>58974796
Few chinkfones support band 12, you might be better off just getting one that doesn't support LTE and using the 3.5g network. In many cases it's faster than the LTE networks because it's a far less crowded network. Try disabling 4G on your current phone and test it out.
>>

its usually ordered from aliexpress or gearbest
but you should find on german internet local sellers that will respect warranty

not yet lineage builds but considering how full xiaomi it will get builds
soc is 14nm, though not as powerful as it could have been
still seriously ridiculous battery 4100mAh

you can check https://thesolutionshop.asia if you have trouble finding it on amazon or something
they ship from within EU so no taxes, but since its not your local shop I am not sure how welcome they would be to warranty claims.

but interesting enough, xiaomi has quite a good reputation, you dont read much shit about them, unlike LG for example

Hardware defect.

LG used a shitty method or materials to attach the CPU to the circuit board so over time as the phone heats up and cools down, the CPU no longer makes proper contact with the circuit board and the phone no longer works.

This effects every LG made phone after the G2 and Nexus phones made by LG.
>>
>>58977743
The 2GB was never an issue for me and thankfully I never had a looping issue that I didn't cause and easily fix myself.

>>58977774

That's crap, they don't. Less than 2GB ram isn't useable anymore. There are plenty of acceptable 2GB phones for under 100.

I don't mind buying it new if they have good battery life.
Since the old phones with Java internet, I haven't wanted any new features. They just seem to make them need charging more.

This one OK?

Is the Motorola Moto Z Play really worth it? It seems expensive for being average at everything, only Snapdragon 625, only 3GB RAM, no Nougat support yet. I'm not willing to spend 700 bucks on the next step up, but 400 for this feels like too much too.

Let me preface this by saying I don't really use my phone for anything besides web browsing and watching anime during lunchbreaks at work. I used to have an HTC One S that I really liked, the size was good, performance was okay for the time and the design was really beautiful in my opinion. I'm not a spec whore at all so I'm currently using an Amazon Fire Phone running Cyanogenmod (got it like a year and a half ago for $80)

What's the modern day equivalent to said HTC One S in both design, market position and price? I dropped my phone for the first time today and while it was just fine I figured I should have a plan in case this thing gets busted.

I'm looking for a new phone that will work with TracFone for under $200, although I'm willing to go up more if it absolutely smokes the current one I'm looking at.

Currently looking at the Lenovo ZUK Z2 (pic related).

Price: Around $200

Specs:
5" 1080p 441 PPI screen
Snapdragon 820 CPU
Adreno 520 GPU
4GB RAM
Android v7 compatible
64GB storage (non-expandable)
13MP f/2.2 primary camera, 1.34 µm pixel size - 4k video recording, 124 frames/second at 720p
Fuck selfie cameras
Type C USB V2
5GHZ wifi compatible
3500mAh battery

Priorities:
Processing speed (on and offline)
Screen quality: don't need quad-hd, but no 720p
Android version (although I do intend to root)

Give no shits about:
Selfie camera
Android pay
Main camera (the Z2's camera is plenty for me)
Looking good (non-screen aesthetics): I intend to stick this thing in the most bomb-proof case I can find for it

There seems to be a very divided opinion about this phone.

On the one hand lots of people are raving about it because it has near flagship-level specs for $200 and everything works pretty reliably (especially when rooted)

On the other hand some say that all the specs mean nothing and it's a piece of crap IRL.

Anyone have any personal experience with the phone?

Can anyone recommend a phone with better performance or specs for around the same price?

It looks like it works super well from all the YouTube reviews I've seen.

The battery of my Nexus 4 is slowly giving up after ~4.5 years, so I'm starting to look for alternatives.

I had it all configured perfectly. No Gapps. KISS launcher. Cyanogenmod. Nice screen size. Totally acceptable performance. The only problem was the battery life, and how it's coming to an extreme, where I'm wasting 1-2% every 10 minutes with my screen off.

Since I don't want to replace the battery (again), I wanted to ask, if someone could recommend a phone, somewhere in the 100-200$/Euro price range, that would be somewhat comparable to the Nx4. No useless gimmicks, no root-lock and possibly an replaceable battery.

Oh, that's right, they are broke and stuck in mono.

That just shows how good the ROM is, it's been out for less than a month and that's literally the only major bug it has.

Where's the catch?
>>

Read some reviews online, it's just as good as it seems to be
>>
>>58993476
Well actually the camera seems to be not so great now that I look into it.
>>
>>58993661
And they seem to be realy fucking delicate.

I know a phone's fingerprint coating decays after a while, anyone have experience in reapplying a coat or keeping the phone looking fresh?
>>
>>58997553
I just do that by replacing the case and screen protector.

How bad do you need iOS 10?

Not at all. Is there a downgrade for this OS?
>>

I'm currently using a Galaxy Note 2. I use it for mostly social media promotion, but sometimes, Instagram has trouble uploading hi-def videos.

Should I sell it and get a new phone or try out ROMS like Lineage and Replicant? Is there a way to revert my phone to stock if I want to sell it later?

You do have a good looking phone, right?

Got a free K10 LTE on the way because exploiting the carrier is easy.

It won't be a good looking phone once you drop it and the screen smashes

Nope, Nougat ROM is rolling out during this month. Pretty sure that checking XDA will tell you how to force the update or flash it yourself.
AFAIK, the Huawei P8 (from 2015) is the one stuck on MM.

The Mi 5 is a fucking slippery glass sandwich, you can be sure as hell I'd bubble-wrap it if I could.

I'm thinking of ordering a z3c, is there a way that I can tell if the device has been repaired, refurbished or tampered with? and do certain color versions of z3c have issues like the white z5c?

Is there a website that compares phone's cameras specifically?

I'm considering a few similar phones and I wanna figure out how different are the cameras.
