/g/ tell me is 8.th gen of intel chips worth the money over 7th gen?

what I know so far:

> same nm process
> adds 2 cores on mobile chips (laptops)
> laptops with that chips are rare also cost like +20% more

what is the impact to battery?

Im about to buy dell xps 13 with 7500U but wild 8xxx option appeared. Should I consider it?

Processor C States should park unused cores.

Better power efficiency and less heat. Google or searx is your friend.

Not everyone wants a Shitmote Leeloong chink garbage machine or a T60.

graphics doesnt matter - not a gamer or designer at all

what do you recommend anon?
>>

i thought that same nm process == the same heat
>>

which you wouldn't need if they didn't give you two more extra useless cores.

any laptop with a 2500U/2700U if you aren't in a hurry to buy
>>
Why not Raven Ridge?
>>
>>63317079
Do not buy an xps 13

get an xps 15

fucking please trust me

it's worth it. you will thank yourself for the extra screen space

Unused cores are turned off = no extra heat despite having more cores

8th gen intels are so powerful that engineers had implemented hidden onboard OS so someone could utilize at least bit of this tremendous power

go get one now

15" is overload for me
even the 13" is a lot but xps has almost no bezels so im ok with that

Wish more laptops copied the XPS bezeless design.
An XPS 15" is closer to the physical size of a 13" laptop from other manufacturers.
As another anon, I'd at least recommend keeping it in consideration, and looking at it in person.
