just want to check one thing, is it cherry profile? i have many tai hao keycaps and it's a lot higher than my fc660m keycaps. afaik fc660m use cherry profile with low stepped sculpture. if i put enjoypbt on my fc660m, is it gonna high profiled? like when i tried with my tai hao keycaps set.

It's cherry profile. One thing though, your leopold stock keycap isn't cherry profile. It's Leopold's own step sculpture 2 profile, which is a little bit lower than regular cherrys

If you have $200 to spend and wouldn't mind being mildly disappointed and also the shittiest placement of an arrow cluster I've ever seen, go for it. If not, go to your local microcenter or other brick and mortar tech store and try out Blue, Green, and Clear cherry switches.

What 75%? More on the budget side. Don't really care about back lighting. As little non-standard meme keycaps as possible (I'm fine with a few blanks, just no height/row problems). I already have enough Cherry MX Brown switches so if the switches are shit then original Cherries must fit.

For example there is Z-88 Mini with shitty(?) chink switches but they are "DIY replaceable" without even soldering. However some say the original Cherry switches don't fit. What do?

Is building custom worth it? How to? I've been using a mech keyboard for a while but I'm not "in the scene".

BTW current keyboard is Quick Fire TK, pic related (without the cover). After 1 year of usage without cleaning, the faggot was to dirty and full of hair, I said fuck it and just washed the motherfucker. Even plugged it in without fully drying. Some keys didn't work and shit. After a day, all works again. Water resistant keyboards BTFO desu.
If I get one of them 75% chink keyboards, would it be too shit compared to my current one? Even if I fit my old switches?

This seems like the best place to ask
I want to buy a wrist rest for my DAS 4 and maybe possibly for laptop?
Is there anything I should know about wrist rests
>form (just like a long pillow or those that have "bumps" for your wrists)
>gel or memory foam
>is it better that wrist rest is a bit lower/on par with keyboard or higher
And anything else that would matter, I can choose from 5 wrist rests locally (after filtering out the shit), if this would help

They are like a model M without a metal plate, while having a flimsy case. Case is also not curved, so their profile is flat, there is no height difference between lines.

Also, M2 has a shitty capacitor that like to blow for no reason and completely kill the board. Its an easy fix tho.

I've got gateron clears in this keyboard, and it's what I've been using as my daily driver for more than a year now. There's nothing I can complain about with this keyboard. It's not my endgame, my endgame will be some super-sick custom that I'll design from the ground up sometime in the future, but as far as pre-made boards go, this is the best I've layed hands on so far, and my all-time favorite.

Just got my MK Fission with clear keys. My previous keyboard was the MK 2016 with brown keys. I specifically wanted to get on clear keys and I'm really liking it so far. They're so much quieter than my browns despite the added stiffness. The Way the Fission looks is cool too. I wanted the black keycap version, ordered it, and got the white keycap version with a complimentary set of black keycaps from MK. Can't really complain. Not normally a fan of RGB or LEDs, but the different lighting modes look pretty cool all things considered. Sorry if this post comes across as pretty long, this keyboard just feels amazing.

Avoid for a multitude of reasons. Logitech does have by far the nicest rgb implementation but thats it. Otherwise you can expect shitty keycaps, switches in logiteches choice, dying LEDs, botnet software, overpriced etc.
Right now you should look at CoolerMaster PBT S(NOT RGB VERSION) or Ducky. This is assuming a normal TKL/full size board.

Most laptop cases used to be made out of a magnesium alloy, not sure if that has changed.

Ducky has much better keycaps then the corsair. They're doubleshot PBT so the legends will never wear off and won't develop this grimy shine like on old office keyboards, unlike corsair which uses laser etched ABS. I also think the font looks better. The keyboard is also programmable with 5 function layers so you can set whatever macros you want, including media ones if you want them. There is software to help program all the RGB effects, but the keyboard is fully driverless so you can also program them on the hardware level. The other nice thing is that with Ducky RGB keyboards the LEDs are on a completely separate PCB that can be easily removed without have to desolder any of the switches unlike corsair. That way if for whatever reason an LED starts acting up, or you want something brighter you can easily replace them.
>>
so o-rings only help if you bottom out?
>>
>>63738314
yes

if you want quiet and don't bottom out, you need internally dampened switches or gmk qmx clips
>>
>>63737922
>>63737949
Why, thank you.

If I had to choose one switch to type on for the remainder of my life, I'd choose gateron clears without a doubt. Cherry clears and whites, Topre and many other switches are a great pleasure to type on, but gat clears come out on the top for me. As you'd expect, at 35g, they're very light and they're buttery smooth. I've described them previously as typing on pillars of air, and after more than a year of using them on a daily basis, I still feel like that. Typing on gateron clears feels effortless, there's nothing but light, smooth and linear goodness to lay your fingers on. My thoughts translate into words, which translate into keystrokes, and those keystrokes are light and nimble, it feels like my fingers are just fleeting over the keyboard as I type, forming the words from the characters they select. Paired with a good keyboard that has a solid backplate, and thicc keycaps, you hear the rhythmic clacking as the letters appear on your screen.
They're an absolute pleasure to type on.
>>
>>63737884
It's out of stock because now you have to buy the Ducky One 2.

I have a non-back lit version with black switches. They desperately need lube after about 1.5 years and it's usually the board I bring to class with me. Really I bought it because I needed a real board ASAP. Anyone who isn't sure if they want to jump into the pit of mkb or just needs something cheap and reliable. I mean $40 is like membrane teritory. The gateron versions at $50-60 is the way to go through, much better switches.

This is the perfect board for me because i like the bottom row and the color of the keycaps. it matches my mouse. I'm american though. Will the layout and kana stuff cause me any headaches or problems? I assume I can easily remap the extra bottom row buttons with ahk too right?

Are cherry clears any good?
>>
>>63740275
they are pretty good, buckling springs are still better however

I get that or unresponsive keys infrequently on random switches, a few hard taps corrects it.

Used one for about a week until I returned it. Shit felt scratchier than Browns, if that was even possible. If you actually want tactility, then skip to Buckling Springs or Alps/Matias, because Cherry is only good at linear switches.

Say I wanted a logitech board with their house brand switches just for aesthetics to go with one of my mice. How bad are they really? I mean, is it totally unusable? I can tolerate linear, clicky, and tactile all fine but have never tried any custom gaming switches like that
>>
>>63741041
The "tactile bump" is so minuscule that you'll think it's dirt that got in and not an intended feature.

You're fucked when it comes to keycaps.

There's also the issue with key chatter due to the redundant contacts, but it's too soon to tell.

Burger here my first JIS layout keyboard (HHKB Pro JP) just arrived today and honesty it isn't too bad. Otherwise they do sell ANSI Realforce keyboards too or look at the FC660C.

Nice been waiting for a reply. What are the chances that you just got one? That's crazy.
I know they sell the ansi but I want it specifically for the color of the keycaps on the kana(idk the name) realforce 87u and the cool bottom row. Compare it to the g703, perfect match colorwise. I also could definitely use those spare keys on the bottom row for binds and I always strike the spacebar in the exactly the same spot so even if it was 2u wide it wouldn't be an issue.
Have you tried anything other than just typing? Have you had to adapt to anything to be able to type in english on it? I assume the alphas work normally but I'm more interested in the big enter being odd to type on and using the bottom row for remapping.

>>
>>63741514
What kind of switches did you get?
>>
>>63741376
Haven't really done any heavy lifting but I considering I mostly write code having some of the symbols closer will be nice once I adjust. There are no adjustments to make typing English other than the small spacebar. I can still manage to right thumb it. No issues for the small backspace or the big enter. I generally indexed both of those keys toward the right edge anyway.

Haven't done it yet but I think one of the bottom row keys will end up as dedicated to the window manager so I don't have to worry about shortcuts colliding with other applications.

this keyboard would be much better if it wasn't for the godawful font on the keycaps

Ducky is fine as a basic keyboard. Any cheaper and you get into chinese keylogger territory but it's also not gaymer overpriced crap.

It's the easiest brand to suggest here.

generic cherry blue, model m

I spilled water on my Model M and it acts up, a single keystroke is detected as multiple different keys.
There are 2 Model Ms in QWERTZ on the market right now, both cost about 100e, one from 1990 the other from 1996, is that my best option?
Otherwise I've been looking at Topre switches. There's a Realforce with german layout, are those worth the price?
>>
>>63729683
Thing is, if you get a custom layout plate, you'd likely need to get a custom layout board. Or were you thinking of wiring it yourself too?
>>
>>63742858
If you like buckling spring, Topre will be a really big change. Like almost polar opposite.

Yep. I intend to have some 2u keys so getting a pcb with the right amount of spots isn't going to work.
Which also means
>plate mounted stabilizers
