What surprises me is that he looks more like a Italian than any arabs currently living in northern Europe.

Even Spanish people look different.

Interestingly, this man seems to originate from Iberia, rather than the Lebanon area.
>>
>>2378233
According to the paper, that is. He is haplogroup U5b2c, and his genetic makeup is most similar to a modern Portugese person.

So how closely are modern Lebanese related to the Phoenicians?
>>
>>2377861
No. More like Jewish.
>>
>>2378233
Carthage had loads of Iberian mercenaries
>>
>>2378178
How the mighty have fallen.
>>
>>2378608
Considering the waves of Arab invasions probably only distantly. Though considering Phoenicians were a Levantine people originally there's probably not a whole lot of difference between them and Arabs.
>>
>>2378062
>an entire race of Weird Als
I guess the Romans really hated polka music.
>>
>>2377821
He looks like Gadaffi. I would say plenty of MENA people still look like that
>>
>>2378653
The genetic impact of the arab invasions are for the most part overplayed. It was mostly cultural with some elements of arab mixture but not that much.

Also, isolated minorities such as Yemeni Jews, Copts in Egypt and Christian Lebanese have 0 arab mixture and they dont look that different from the majority.

So to amend the guys question, I would ask, are Christian Lebanese related to Phoenicians?

The inception of the board?
/pol/ is the biggest board on 4chan. Do you think other boards are le secret clubs that people that have been on /pol/ cannot see because of gook moot magic? Especially a board of somewhat similar interests like /his/.
