Oligarch democucks redefined the word democracy to mran LIBERAL democracy only and they're even willing to sacrifice the "democracy" part in order to preserve the liberal one.

What other kind of democracy does not end with the abolition of democracy?

obviously Churchill was elected as an MP but he did not assume the office of PM through an election ('40-'45 that is). That is what I meant

and that betrays a complete lack of understanding of how parliamentry democracy works.

each constituency elects a MP to represent it, the prime minister is the leader of whichever party possesses a majority.

chamberlin resigned so leadership passed to the new tory leader as the tories still had a majority in parliament.

in the same way gordon brown became pm when blair quit and may when cameron resigned.
>>

This is the correct way to do it retard

Would you rather live in Hong Kong or Jamaica?
>>
>>5330404
its indirectly elected.

you vote for the MP, the prime minister is the leader of party which can obtain a majority of votes in parliament

i dont vote for 'conservative leader' for PM i vote for 'conservative candidate' for local mp with the understanding that he will support his parties manifesto in parliament and vote with his party.

this system means that it is pretty rare to find the leader of the country in a lame duck situation as by definition to be leader he has to possess a majority
>>
>>5330458
Hong Kong, but I'd also rather live in Hong Kong if it was a fascist dictatorship. Because Jamaica is full of niggers
>>
>>5330456
but May has since had an election. Churchill did not
>>
>>5330171
You don't elect the PM you fucking mong, the party does
>>
>>5330578
he did as soon as the war was over.

during the war both labour and the conservatives agreed to work together and suspend elections and formed a national government.

this, but unironically

The stormfags really are clutching at straws these days huh

Pick one and only one. The direct election of oligarchs to a closed national assembly is not a democratic process or goal.
>>
>>5330599

>it's okay to suspend elections, the political class agreed on it, they even merged into one party!

Isn't that how half the dictatorships out there operate? Complete with a perpetual "state of emergency" and everything.

You know they were elected by a population with universal suffrage, right? You can’t be that stupid.
>>
>>5331230
for the duration of a genuine crisis like a war for national survival yes.

they did hold elections as soon as the war was over
