Very nice, thank you. Also nice trips! The level of detail is incredible, especially in the group paintings with the lighting play.
I wonder if these paintings can be preserved in this quality forever? I can see some cracks on some of the faces.
Do you think high quality digital scans are going to be one day superior (and more observed) than the original?
>>
>>3345111
this is a really amazing painting and a famous one too,
way to start the thread op :)
>>
>>3345179
that sounds very possible to me
>>
>>3345179
Hard to say. On the one hand, you can get incredible quality out of a scan, things you wouldn't ordinarily be able to see without a magnifying lens. On the other hand, there's the matter of lighting and texture that can never really be replicated on a screen.
You can also clean it up and edit the colors, like one anon was doing in the old oil paintings thread, but at what point does that get away from the original work?

AI anon from last thread. If anyone wants higher resolution upscales of art feel free to reply. As an example this is a 1.5x increase of >>3345827

I can go up to 4x for some but images will have to be hosted on another site as they can get quite large.

That wasn't irony btw, I really appreciate the art threads! But I would love to talk about the art in real time, too.

I grew up with this painting. It's in the gallery of Wright's work at the Derby Museum.

I'm simply posting more content because I'd rather defy you. You're right, I would be so sorry if this thread reached maturity and another spawned in its place to keep it going, how horrible

although this could be a simple play of reverse psychology in order to get people to think they're being trolls by actually contributing to threads, I like it
