Hey /i/! Over at /v/ we had this week-long process of creating our own map for an RPG (That may or not actually happen) and there was a lot of talk of having other boards make their own maps and with your superior art skills, here we all are.

Basic Information:
>Anons claim a tile to add whatever they want, it's basically like a mosaic thread
>Think things that would be on a map, locations, towns, ect.
>As more tiles are added make sure they correspond with surrounding tiles as there will be updates throughout
>Try to make the most insane things possible for the fun of it
>Tile Dimensions are 210x210

With that said there are a multitude of artists, 70 tiles, and a whole bunch of time in this slow board. I'll post the /v/ map so you all can have an idea, good luck!

exactly! Actually, since /i/ is such a slow board with a multitude of good and bad artists I was debating on whether or not I would expand it to the giant humongous map size that /v/ did, but for now it is just the size of /v/'s lower right area.

I do agree matching tiles is the best part of this, right now we have a tower and a pole coming out of a hill vagina that needs connecting, who knows what it could be? To add onto my islands point, connecting adds onto it, as, unless you depict your island as continuing, it is more than likely just a singular islands, and if we have them all over each other it looks less than great, which is why I encouraged /v/ to be unique and make less islands, and why the map is pretty darn good looking.

I actually haven't drawn any yet, but I definitely plan to! Some examples of tiles I have done in the previous map are the Lanky Kong house, the whole area with kermit and a bathing kanye west, and the elephant headed lady, also I did that giant cactus tower too.

Honestly, /v/ is a huge board and there is hundreds of people on it at a given time, so I barely had any time to make tiles because I was assembling the map together as tiles came in incredibly fast. Because of it, whenever I had time to, I just put in whatever I could think of, it's mostly just the thought of like, "wow, what's the most weirdest thing I can put on this map?" Also usually I am bad at starting sections, so I wait for the map to be filled out a little and branch off from someone else's.

Ay man, I am just trying to prevent the map from looking like pic related. The only rules I go by are no adding pictures to a tile and calling it a day, no saving in JPEG with dead pixels, and always make sure your tile matches it's surroundings.

Yeah sorry man, I usually only do small tiny edits like making lands fit more due to conflicting colors, or stuff like that. In this case I was trying to make the heart fit onto the rod better and noticed the ocean color was off so I did some edits and got a little carried away. Anyway, all is fixed now.

Both you and Op's points are lacking in clarity. It has nothing to do with "it's muh artwork don't edit it" or "just follow directions". The problem is that one side doesn't want op to edit the images at the cost of unifying styles or removing content, and Op does want to edit things to be less jarring by having them flow together. You can actually have both of these things though. All Op needs to do is make sure he doesn't diminish each individuals style or remove content as he blends pieces together.

They havent developed boats yet so Queen Banana and Prince Apple (coronation scheduled in 3 days) made a pact for the apples not to eat the bananas and the bananas would show them how to make boats in order to keep the peace. It simply doesn't change the fact that apples are sub-fruit and so Prince Apple acted on his primal instincts and clobbered the Princess over the head (top of the tile). And so, here we are. A full on skirmish between the superior bananas versus the plebeian apples.

The tiles looks a little off when placed with the other tiles around it, it's too big and looks awkward inbetween the two islands, maybe try making it smaller and work better with the perspective that the other ones have like adding the underpart bits to the island or just making it branch off of one of the others.

Yeah yeah, you got it, this should be better, and in the mockup I just inverted the colors coincidentally, I used brown because it was close to the color of the other tile's lands, But this works too, the tile below will just adapt your sandy archipelago area into theirs.


Here is an update, with my barely-done tile 24, still figuring out what I want with it, will get back to working on it in a bit.
