why do so many people on /ic/ want an artist girlfriend? i just want a girlfriend with a nice ass
>>
>>3514941
>not wanting to spend time with your artist gf drawing cute things together
>just want to be generic and want her to have a fat ass

>>

I just want my husband to not say dumb normie shit like "it's better than what I can do," when I'm laffin about some shitty deviantart shit stain, or "can you draw my family/friend for a card? I forgot to buy one" gag me. Every 3 months he'll ask me to "teach him art" and it's tiring desu

you should date someone who at least respects/knows a little about your hobbies so you can do them together occasionally
>>
>>3514950
Or how 'bout this one I get all the time, 'Can you design me a tattoo?'
The intention is noble but for real I just showed you like the weeb-est shota pictures. You may want a skull or something but you're about to get shota dick tattoo'd on your arm.
>>
>>3514950
Whats with women an limp penises, stop shitting the world with shota shit
>>
>>3514950
play Vidya together, shewitch. he sounds like an old crusty man though and you should be ashamed
>>
>>3514950
>"teach him art"
Oh thats easy, just set up a daily routine for him, babby's first figure, draw a box, whatever, pat him on the back and leave him to it. Have weekly reviews on his progress and provide guidence then. Normies will flunk out after 3 days and never ask again.

By the time you make it clear its a noble grind like folding muh katana nippon swordo a billion times they're ready to jump out of the window.
>>
>>3514982
Lol. Literally never though of this. My girlfriend pulled out the "teach me to draw" card and I showed her some Sycra videos and she told me I wasn't teaching her.

This is something that a lot of people tend to overlook. If a girl has no hobby, she'll be really clingy and won't let you focus on your hobbies.

I am the artist gf and I don't think it's that fun for my boyfriend. For one I've developed this permanent rough patch of skin on my right ankle from sitting cross-legged at my laptop fit hours daily, and my posture is god awful. He's constantly trying to push me out the door to go get some exercise because I spend so much time at my tablet. Sexy.

everyone in this thread is too young to have a girlfriend. you should all be out fucking and drawing as many girls as you can. this is the most beta shit i've seen on /ic/ in a while.
>>
>>3514941
I'm engaged. She draws with a trackpad (bought a tablet but won't use it), won't do fundies, but it makes me happy to know that she's having a good time and she respects me for working hard at learning art and likes it when I show her /ic/ memes.

It's good to share hobbies.
>>
>>3514982
I wish my boyfriend would accept this. He wants me to teach him but refuses to let me see what he has drawn. Then gets discourage when I tried to show him some tutorials, because it feels like I'm pushing him off.
Its become a touchy subject for him.
>>
>>3514941
After getting really close to a drawfag girl I can say that it was the best but it's not just the fact that you share hobbies. I think theres more about the person itself.
She is also very talented and I learn a lot but being an artist doesnt instatly make you a nice person, sadly.
Of course I felt i was missing a half afterwards

But just dont get someone because of their hobby, if she happens to be an artist then it's a plus.

Tell him his ability shouldn't determine his self-worth, because thats a losing stance to get into. Esp. in art where anything you do can be mediately weighted against the biggest masterpieces of all time by anyone with eyes.

He needs to put his self-worth into his convictions instead and make peace with the fact that nothing he does will be good for the next x years. its not reflecting your soul in a mirror, its a craft. Tell him to stop being vain and be like Hokusai.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQj7Lz-srvc

He also sounds like the sort that will have to read War of Art.

>mfw I'm recruiting more potential artists for the job market

I think I might have a death wish of sorts.

>>
>>3515529

>>
>>3515589
I'm not saying this to be demeaning to women btw, I just think however talented and hard working women are, it's men's obligation to be more talented and more hard working somehow. Women don't want to mate with someone who is inferior to them, no matter how great they are, they always want their man to be better. If women are painting like Claude Monet all of a sudden, it's our societal obligation as men to do better, or we don't deserve to procreate with them. Women set the pace in my opinion.
>>
>>3515610
I kinda agree.
I see it this way, if a women were strong enough to feed and defend her and her offspring by herself, than what purpose does a man have other than providing seed once?

It might be a crude way to look at things but ask yourself this, how far away do we really stand from nature and our origins?
>>
>>3514941
Maybe they want a companion who can also be a partner to work with instead of a generic onahole?
>>
>>3515610
>Women don't want to mate with someone who is inferior to them, no matter how great they are, they always want their man to be better.
People fuck people they're attracted to and competence in any field is far from the only reason to feel attracted to anybody. You have a very simple-minded idea of relationships, dude.

expertise and authority are a huge motivating factor for women to be with someone. The difference in millennial generations is trying to foster a patriarchal society that isn't toxic and rapey, but nurturing and supportive, both for the men and women in it. The motivating factor for men to succeed will always be women, it just has to start being for women in a positive way and not in a negative way. Equality isn't fair to women in my opinion, and leaves men unsatisfied with their lives. Women want to feel like they have a man in their life that can take care of them and support them, regardless of if the woman works at McDonalds or is on the Supreme Court. They want their man to be better than them in some way they find aspirational to their life. Something they want to be but either don't have the time or energy to pursue. Men are attracted to appearences, women are attracted to expertise.

i have an artist gf, and honestly it's shit.

we're both aiming for pro, i'm way ahead of her, already getting work. she's worse than /beg/ tier, won't put in the effort and has no work ethic, but still gets jealous/depressed that she's not good enough.

i think this kind of dynamic would work if both are at the same level artistically, and with the same work ethic, or the shit one in the relationship is secure in themselves being just a hobbyist. unmotivated 'future professionals' make the worst romantic partners
>>
>>3514941

I used to think the same, but then it's really something else when you find someone who you can vibe with.

When I met my boy, he was worse at art than me but he was really pleasant to be around. Now he's better than me IMO, though I am the one who used to critique and redline his stuff. My boyfriend is the closest friend I had and eventually became a backbone for me as a person and an artist when I can't help myself.

Before my boo, I used to think I would be happy with someone who was cute, not crazy, and doesn't think too hard about anything. Didn't even have to be an artist or even read, and I was wary of dating artists anyway. But if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have known how much happier and better my life (and art life) could be. He's gone at the moment and after having someone like that by you for years, it's suddenly as if a part of your heart and brain is missing. When I draw, read, or analyze film, my studies seem imcomplete somehow without sharing it with my bf. Right now I am coloring my bf's lineart and feeling like crying.

The right person for you is so personal that it doesn't matter whether or not your boo is an artist or a pleb in the big picture.

The only qualities of a woman any man worth his salt should care about are as follows: 1) she has a strong maternal instinct and naturally seeks to nurture, care for, love, and nurture young children and small animals; 2) she is not obese and is 6-7 in looks (too pretty = she's spoiled, too ugly = she's ugly); 3) she is mentally stable (as stable as a woman is capable of being); 4) she does not want a "career" (i.e. does not want to get pregnant with her firstborn at age 39); 5) she cooks and cleans after you and the 5+ kids you had better put in her

To any young men who take my advice, you're welcome. You can thank me later.

I forgot one tidbit. Only marry a virgin. But only if you are a virgin yourself. The pure deserve the pure and whoremongers deserve whores. Pre-marital sex is degenerate but you'd better pork her before proposing and if she doesn't bleed, don't propose.
>>
I'd rather date someone who was really great at something other than drawing, music, programming, sewing, even graphic design, all fair game. I already talk to artists all day and it does my head in.

Lol thanks. I kinda am grieving even though he's not dead. Right now he's in boot camp for a couple months (it HAD to be during summer, of course) and in Russia they can't even receive letters from their families. Once he's on a base he won't get to keep a smartphone so it's going to be a while until I can hear from him. He was progressing pretty well and we became an item only for a couple months before he was conscripted. He won't be able to draw, go to school, or improve as he wants for the year that he's gone and we've had some heart to heart about the military life (I am US military) and what we want to do after we're done with service.

Now I am just waiting for him to come back so we can draw together side-to-side towards gonnamakeitland
