ever since that one anon in the last thread pointed out that the hands look like feet..I just can not unsee that now.
Take my "fix" as a new concept. Maybe have her arms spread out.I say study more hands and arms because somehting about them in your pic feels more like legs than arms.(its ok i gotta study them too)
(optional but i slightly put pink over your ear to hint that the hair color is covering it)

I just wanted to mess around with this drawing with my mouse

but anon, the hands are feet with opposable thumbs, 90 degrees clockwise rotation and weaker musculature for they dont sustain all day the weight of the body
>>
>>3805763
I get a little jealous sometimes about how the japanese have so many good reference pose books available to them. They can get poses about random subject matters in any angle.

At least the art book thread helped me get access to a lot of these books too.

You can't just combine these concepts like they're the same thing. One is looking at something to understand how to make it. The other is just mindlessly copying it directly onto your own work.

Much better piece. Prices are fair, probably a bit low, considering your style is pretty well developed, your lines are clean, and your color choice is good. I'll say that if this is all that you have in terms of nsfw, you should do a few more pieces that are more graphic (penetration, exposed genitalia, etc.) to showcase what exactly it is you are (and aren't) capable of. It's clear you have some weaknesses, but they're not so glaring that they can't be ignored. just keep grinding fundamentals and I'm sure you'll be fine.

tldr; yeah people will buy it, but expand your portfolio and grind fundamentals.

gesture drawings from life, you can look up videos of people dancing, fucking, playing sports, and just do gestures from those if you don't want to go outside. The point being you wanna get a feel of what people look like in motion, from several different angles. You'll naturally get an idea of how the body "flows" with enough practice. and keep an anatomy reference by your side, always. I use pic related.

Even with unfinished work it's important to practice good linework. Try to accomplish things in as few lines as possible. Nude stuff generally looks best when things are clean and simple, especially big curves like thighs, breasts, butts etc.

At first glance it's ok but at second it's not. There's a lot of shading missing on her torso; the bottom of the ribcage and the abdominal muscles always show up. The leg anatomy is bad and the linework is unsteady.
Go drill lines and anatomy for a while. then start studying the shading on figures.

In fairness, he's emulating the cartoony and exaggerated style of the source material, and the character in question can shapeshift into animals, seemingly changing size and mass at will, so I'll buy that he could present a cock that's ludicrously gigantic.

I like to deform stuff in order to make it more interesting. I do this all the time more and more. In the past all my stuff was much more sterile and beginner like (obsessing over anatomy instead of improving abstraction within the style and abstraction of gesture dynamics), so I guess you are just stuck in that more beginner phase. Some day you'll probably notice it too. You just need to develop artistically.
That was referring to that hand. Not sure what's rustling your jimmies when it comes to the feet since they aren't showing.
Btw, I think my feet and hands game is one of my best assets. Feel free to redline obviously.

Why does her left hand have sharp fingers?
>>
>>3810649
You can angle them flat, bottom of hips, ankle and big toe hit the ground. But if it looks wrong it's wrong.

I like how it looks and don't see the need to change the length of her lower legs because imo it's not a major issue.
I see the mistake now tho and I agree with you.
It's such a minor thing that I don't think it's worth addressing tho, cause I don't think it ruins the image.
Hands are imo an even lesser problem.
>>
>>3810643
>knees together nt spread
>hands in lap not flat behind.
>leaning forward not back.
>feet pointed back not out sideways

When you lean forward with your knees together like this your ENTIRE leg rotates which makes it possible for the feet to SLIGHTLY roll outwards. You cant really have your knees touching the ground and your feet on a ninety degree angle they don’t really rotate like that.

NICE TRY THOUGH RETARD
>>
>>3810680
But what about her ankles, where are they? And shouldn't her left foot be out farther than you redlined it? Now it looks like her whole left leg is out of proportion with her entire body. How do you explain that?

>>

Ankles (stumpy legs) are a style choice. I think they look cute for how the character looks.
>Now it looks like her whole left leg is out of proportion with her entire body. How do you explain that?
Small perspective mistake not worth addressing I guess. Especially cause I still don't see a problem with it, even after you mentioned it.
>>
>>3810683
So, explain why you drew sharp angles for fingers and not actual fingers. I thought you said you had the best hand and feet game when it came to your work?
>>
>>3810685
But it's a perspective flaw, nonetheless. Thanks for admitting to that.
>>
>>3810685
Are you substituting style over correct anatomy?
>>
>>3810684
You say that but I highly doubt it. Post pics.
>>
>>3810686
Because I think they look cool like that. Very simple, anon.
And I still think that, yes.

I see what you are trying to say, but what you are saying is really irrelevant in this particular picture. The whole style is so simplified that a lot of the anatomy is drawn in almost a chibi style. The hands and legs were completely simplified here. And not because I'm unable to draw more realistic hands or feet. It's just a style choice in this case.
>>
>>3810689
Pretty much, yeah.
>>
>>3810692
Hahahha absolutely not posting pics of myself to ic. Anyway learnt that the pose looks jank today.
>>
>>3810693
But can you be wrong? Fingers shouldn't look like that even with a "chibi" drawing. Do you know what a chibi-style drawing looks like?
>>
>>3810697
Who cares, blur face.
>>
>>3810696
So it's safe to assume that BBC-Chan would much rather choose style, over drawing an anatomically correct drawing?
>>
>>3810688
That's never been an issue for me.
Most of my stuff is flawed. And hearing second opinions about stuff is always good. That's why I'm posting here.

>>
>>3810703
Oh, definitely. I always pick style over realism.
Expressiveness and dynamism >>>>>>>>>> realistic anatomy.
I would say my main focus in all the stuff I draw are sense of presence (depth and perspective), and dynamic gesture.
Then afterwards character expressions and interaction between characters.
Then all the rest I guess.
>>
>>3810705
So you've never had a problem with perspective? Seems like you do, still, with the drawing you posted.
>>
>>3810707
So why the sharp fingers?
>>
>>3810707
Isn't admitting to style over anatomical correction a big problem with amateur and beginner artists?
>>
>>3810708
Of course I had problems with perspective. Nowadays not so much. But it's obviously a hit and miss thing sometimes.
>>3810710
It's just stylized like that to give it some character. I think you are obsessing over that a bit too much lol.

Can you now please drop the 3rd degree shit you guys are doing? You are pretty creepy.
>>
>>3810713
I have no idea. I just know that I gave much more importance to realism in the past, but then when I decided to be a professional, I realized:

1. Realism is overrated and how expressive your own style is is much more important
2. Realism is not appealing for what I draw (smut)
3. Realism takes too much time

And probably there's more cons, but those came to mind.
>>
>>3810700

If you made something cleaner, it would help. Something clean with that kind of style on the low end is a good $35-45 in internet commission land for a full body. So you're good on the price there. Don't offer too many options though. Also, don't offer sketches, at especially that low of a price point unless someone asks explicitly. It isn't the best thing to display for yourself on social media.
Also, it may be better to instead offer "thighs up/half body" commissions. You can offer a greater variety of poses. A torso with the limbs cut off is really just a bust.

>L2R or R2L? top three panels look like it's L2R and bottom two look like R2L (with ON AIR sign as establishing shot)

going L2R:
#1: there is something wrong with perspective, from what I've checked, in FOV with my eyes as viewing apparatus(duh, right?) when I lay my hands on a desk they take about 1/5~1/6 of vertical space from horizon down
#2: if she shifted back in her sit, her left hand would probably be resting on desk, I would change hand gesture of right hand too, unless she's holding something
#3: given that his and previous shot are from pretty much same perspective face proportions seem inconsistent
#4 & #5 on air sign doesn't need to to be so big, maybe scale it down and recycle some of that space to show more of sexy vampire...
ofc I don't know where you'll put your speech bubbles(if any) and don't know your exact artistic vision for this comic

that's because beginner's use it as an excuse for not being able to draw correct anatomy

once you get to a certain level, you can start taking risks with your stylistic choices and breaking rules. this is something you'll learn when you get better, your opinions scream of somebody who has been drawing for about 5 months.

just go through bbc's work for about 5 minutes to see he can draw hands
>>
>>3811402
Twitter, Newgrounds, and surprisingly riding my tumblr until it gets deleted for barely pixilated lewds (btw posts that're flagged I've appealed and had back up within minutes) has been working alright for me. Also Hentai Foundry I only use to check the quality of a piece. Finally Furaffinity also has a human section, as well.

Twitter by far is probably your best option right now, everything else works better as an archive.
>>
>>3811417
TheBootyDoc is the ultimate example of being able to make it through emphasizing style/character over substance. Dude's anatomy is atrocious but the comics still look good because they are dynamic.

Yeah anatomy be important and definitely work to improve it but you can still put out work and be successful if you can draw a decently appealing figure if you're able to make it dynamic.

post often, make fanart of big artists OCs, post in peak hours and dont forget to turn towards political virtue signaling or pity party shitposting instead of art when you reach 15,000 followers
>>
>>3811432
Do other bigger people's OCs and do studies of the lewd models and tag accordingly. Also fanart, a lot of fanart.

Also when you do hashtag, use only one, as the algorithm don't like it when you do more.

Do the various meme outfit/daily art challenges from various large accounts (pixel dailies, cutiesaturday, etc) and interact with others by commenting on their work.

Buddy up with other slightly bigger artists and get a friend group going because it encourages output and it's fun.

Finally putting out low effort art shitposts every once in awhile can get caught by the machine and go viral over your fully fleshed out work.

Finally WiPs always get more traction than the finished piece, so be sure to post those.

And see, I'd take your opinion more seriously if you didn't staple on such a bad example of artwork when you're trying to prove a point.

And maybe it's just your level of taste, in all fairness. Putting up some of Doxy's work as your example of "more views, more money" with that right eye drifting outward of the skull like that means that, you really don't have great taste in inspiration.

I mean, if you like low level scrub artists as your inspiration, more power to you I guess. Good luck with that.

And on a more honest note, why can't any of you artists show any kind of progress, given the amount of time you've all put into your work? And on that same note, why are some of you regressing after having drawn for so long? Why should "your style" be one to inspire to?

Thoughts?
>>
>>3811585
>if you didn't staple on such a bad example
What bad example, Doxy is one of the biggest normalfag lapping artists for the past 5+ years. It just cements what really matters when selling art to non artists. Art isn't for artists to fanwank each other, it's for a profit for general audience.
>>
>>3811608
And fyi, I didn't state I like Doxy's style (I mostly don't) but he has more than I do trying to make it with realism or other shit the masses don't care about. Art on this board is outdated and that's why no one makes it here, you don't move on.
>>
>>3811597
In the first panel's lettering, who is the one talking? And in the second panel, why did you feel the need to make the word balloon, like a thought bubble? The same goes for the third panel.

Why is your storyboard inconsistent in terms of flow?
>>
>>3811610
So by that account, could the same be said about Chan's work as well, albeit on the other side of the spectrum completely altogether—stylistic crap that the masses probably don't care about either?

And you are correct, art on this board is very outdated, and that's probably why so many beginners here throw a hissy fit when their work is often critiqued as scrub tier.

I'm doing pretty fine on patreon where my commissions are free of charge or go for 50 bucks for the lowest tier patrons.
If you want a commission from me become a patron and then wait for about 18 months (that's the current waiting time on patreon commissions). After that you can get a 50 bucks artwork (similar quality as the artwork I posted in this thread).
>>3811708
I don't draw complex commissions anymore. And for that I'd probably charge around $300 for a single character piece.
Tough luck. :\
>>
>>3811723
As long as we stay civil about our opinions, I agree, I don't see why this shouldn't continue. After all, we're talking about an artist's work being critiqued on a critique board.
>>3811728

>>
>>3811597

>>
>>3811768
Honestly, I really don't see how the artist can follow this up without first addressing the issues plaguing the storyboard, first.

There's no flow to the panel work, wouldn't you agree?
>>
>>3811770
It's hard to get the actual picture of what's going on without context. My understanding is that whoever she's talking to wants some action, but is going to fading out as soon as she's off the air, with the wobbly word ballons conveying that he's losing her, and ultimately ends with the guy getting blueballed. Though, maybe it's not the right shape for balloons if that's the case.
Or maybe I'm just wrong, because there's just so much to work with and that's what my own mind pieced together trying to interpret it.

But to be honest, I just want to see the finished design of the girl.
>>
>>3811782
I agree. Without context, this artist should re-evaluate what they're trying to showcase. A storyboard should read visually without having lettetype be its only saving grace.

Your hair lacks form and seems rushed.
Chin and nose are angle up, but eyes and lips aren't affected by perspective.
An upward angle is generally unattractive too, especially if the person drawing it can't draw it.
The clavicle is very spaced apart. Theres so many anatomical errors, like how you're creating muscles that don't exist and incorrectly placing forms that I can't be bothered to say them all and would rather just say for you to look up nude female models on google.
No line weight priority. Everything seems to be an inconsistent thickness.
You're not constructing, just placing things where you guess they would attach.
You didnt draw the full body. Legs and feet are important.
Defining lines too much around soft muscles.

Decent forms but the upper arms are too short. Use some softer lines or hatch the small muscle definition too, they aren’t hard transitions.

Charming. I like the the rendering on the contact with glass.

I have this theory that in your effort to make it as fappable as possible, you stop paying attention to any non-sexy part, like head or arms and hands, so it all falls out of proportion without you noticing.
Try to flip your canvas from time to time or even count heads like old Loomis does (one head down to nipples, two more to crotch), not because you'd need to obey those rules but to keep track of when things start to slip a little too far.
Remember, even hands and other non-sexual parts can be incredibly sexy if done well.

Oh hey fisher, hope you're doing alright.

You don't have to render the figure and the background in the same way, but you could at least make the lighting similar so it looks like the guy belongs in there - that means giving it a similar value range and a similar shift in shadows (your character has a cool lightsource while your bg has a warm one).
Keep it up!
>>
>>3813799
oh wow thanks. I'll try to keep this in mind, Maybe render the character and the background at the same time instead of doing the character first on a blank background. In hindsight that's probably the worst way i couldve done it.

You probably won't want to change it at this point, but there's something strange with the ass shape if you ask me. The torso is also a bit too long, but that's something to be figured out in the thumbnail stage, so maybe next time.

Nice inking tho, love the lip bite.

>>3813807
Naw, you did good.
It's better to at least sketch the background in so you can draw the character in the same perspective, with their feet planted on the ground, those things are a pain to be fixing later on. It also gives you more options for the composition, like leaning against the tree trunk or pushing a branch out of the way for us to see that delicious chest.
To make a character fit into their background you just have to make them have something in common, like value or temperature.

>>
>>3813864
It's because you aren't relaxed enough. It shows in the stiffness of your linework. You just need more experience to build the proper confidence.
It will be much easier once you'll enjoy the whole process. You'll get there sooner or later.

Yeah, I've been looking for references everywhere when it comes to having parts against glass, specially breasts. Lately been having the craving for that specific thing but it's also the first time I'm tackling it like pic related
>>

Good. That means anon can use refs well, without me realizing it. Kudos for that.

>Yeah, I've been looking for references everywhere when it comes to having parts against glass, specially breasts. Lately been having the craving for that specific thing but it's also the first time I'm tackling it like pic related
Not really what I was trying to say. That pic you made is almost an exact copy of an existing hentai artwork of a girl pressing her body on a steamy glass drawing a heart on it. The torso is almost the same.

>>3813975
Imo it just means that you can't perceive when someone's drawing looks better than their actuall skills are. The way some parts of the illustration are so much better than others should have tipped off anyone that knows how to recognize this kind of over referencing.
>>
>>3813989
All this said, I don't think using references is a bad thing. Please, don't get me wrong. I just think you should do a better job at trying to make your whole drawing more cohesive. Try not to over reference parts of it is what I mean.

Doxy is a 1-trick pony Fraud who can only draw the same goofy body, lips, face, and continually gets worse as time goes on. Potential heavily stifled by the fact that their making money so they might as well stop learning/trying and just continue to pump out the same garbage over and over again because their fan base doesn't give a fuck so why should they?
>>

i've completed something in as short as an afternoon and i've had drawings that took me over a year to get around to "finishing". average usually takes me a few days/weeks though, even though my work isn't very technically proficient, i am just incredibly particular with my output.
>>
>>3814114
doxy is happy with what he can output, he's focused the last few years in on more efficiently putting things out, aka quicker, i respect that. it's his job, and he treats it like a job, he's not some hobbyist who can focus forever on pushing himself with his art, he's working on creating what his fanbase wants because he needs their support to make a living. tho also even that's a lie. he's been pushing himself bodytype wise with his more gay orientated furry work under onta. he tends to swing back and forth between the two, letting one be comfy easy to produce work that brings him his bread while experimenting more under the other to try out things his fanbase under that name might not always be into.
>>
>>3813774
Hey fisher, love the works you do, cept the penis ngl
but I wanted to ask if you had any particular big inspirations to your style?

thanks, don't worry i'm not offended i know what i'm into is extremely niche. My biggest source of inspiration for my nsfw stuff is jjfrenchie/joel jurion for sure, but beyond that i also try to emulate ban, jeffr, deerchip, koki, ovopack, dentyou, and the cleaner elements of radiohead. there are probably a lot more but i cant think of them at the moment

no problem, just glad to help! honestly your body is much more accurate for what that type of body should look like, i get too obsessed with shape and silhouette that i often heavily forsake anatomical shiz in a way that makes life harder when trying to work into other areas of art lol

This looks like you really rushed it. It doesn't look complete.
>>
>>3815709
in what sense? unblended/not enough tones used?
>>
>>3815718
Where you put the highlights look like strokes that would only take a moment. You didn't bother sharpening or cleaning up the edges where they'd need to be to more accurately wrap around the forms.
The line work Is messy and rushed, again, you couldn't be bothered to touch up on the "tails" you left behind.
You colored out of the lines for the boy, which is distracting since it's different from the rest along with the lazy highlight across his chest. Oh, and the lighting on her legs is too high contrast in comparison to the rest of the picture.

As a side note to improve the coloring, a reflective secondary light would benefit the forms a lot and a cast shadow underneath her neck piece would look better. I would suggest blending the form shadows a bit, but you can keep things as a stylistic cell shader preference.

the male was meant to be drawn in a lazy way to appear flustered, thought coloring outside the lines would help convey that
not sure what you mean by 'reflective' light. like rimlighting?
>>
File: NewCanvas1.png (224 KB, 730x723)

>>3815800
I've added both rim lighting and reflective lighting. Reflective is generally softer and affects surrounding objects. The strong red color would reflect onto the character for example and a secondary cooler light would bounce off of the character too. Rim lighting is strong and sharp that's a third light source that comes from behind the character.
