She's probably been drawing for 10 years. I've been drawing for two and a half.

Being able to reproduce stuff at a young age isn't that impressive, I used to do portraits at 13 because my eye to hand coordination is pretty good. If they can create stuff out of their own imagination or put multiple references together to create something new, then that's something. There's plenty of kids able to copy stuff they see down, but that doesn't mean they understand what they're actually seeing, or are in any way capable of maintaining that high of a level in their own shit
>>
>>3932886

drew by copying off somewhere... show the source I bet it's deformed.

>but can this 12 year old do it from imagination
Why are you trying to discredit them? They're kids learning the most basic and foundational drawing skill which is being able to draw what you see well. It carries over directly to drawing from imagination because if you can draw what you see, with enough time and practice you can draw it from memory and imagination to make your own compositions... and then use references to complete them, or maybe become godlike KYG and not need them.. That's the endgame that every artist in training is trying to get to. You can't expect 12 year olds to already be there lmao.

Wasn't discrediting them lmao, my point was people are giving them too much credit. Copying isn't difficult and I was doing the same at 13 too.
I was saying it isn't a special gift, if she could maintain the level in imaginative work that'd be special. Way to misinterpret my point
>>
>>3937578
If drawing what you see is not difficult then why can't 90% of /ic/ do it well.

Its impressive to have that level of observational and rendering skills as a beginner and that young. Drawing from imagination at a similar level as from observation comes much later after years of experience and practice because its so reliant on memory. You can't expect beginners to have that sort of knowledge.
>>
>>3937594
Because ic is mostly older people starting fresh. Any skill is easier to learn faster when you're young. As I've said twice before, I did the same at 13. I don't expect kids to be amazing, I'm saying it isn't special. Because it isn't.
If she keeps it up but also works on imaginative stuff she'll grow up skilled in more than observational drawing. But she might also not, if she only copies it'll hold her back.
But it really isn't that impressive, most realism artist I've met were at the same level at her age.
>>
>>3934220
pretty impressive for 12 years old
hope he sticks with it
>>
I don’t need to explain my self I mean look at the stuff I drew when I was 14 totally better than whatever this girl did and totally not something I’m still ashamed of till this very day
>>
>>3932886
It's not even good you retard you should quit drawing if you can't recognize that

this ain't it, chief

All bow before Akiane’s might
>>
>>3939287
reread what i said and show me exactly where i said that you fucking cretin. of course it's good for you but the actual resulting artwork doesn't say shit about how skilled you are on your own.
>>
>>3939290
>Akiane
I'm very jealous of her skill at only 24 years old. But her art is the very definition of kitsch, not the good kind either. What a shame.
>>
>>3939300
>assuming it doesn't take any amount of observation or rendering skill to sucessfully do a master copy
>>
>>3937594
You should really stop acting so retarded
>>
>>3939321
>sees a literal 12-year-old draw a Da Vinci and it doesn't look like shit
>"yeah but can he do it from imagination"

this is the level of cope we're dealing with
>>
>>3937956
Something about this is very nostalgic. Seeing the bad art of horny 14 year olds is fun.
>>
>>3933158
God, I hate mouths drawn like that. Completely ignores the form of the denture mound and it just comes off as looking like a bizarre slit mouth cut into the side of the face.
>>
>>3934220
Why do people deny Asians are diligent workers and great at STEM and the arts? Is it true that the super human lacks empathy?
>>
>>3939290
This is so fucking hard to look at, though. Just tacky photo-bashing, even if it isn't. Gives me the same feeling as looking at paintings of Caucasian Jesus Christ.
>>
I didn’t start drawling till after high school
>>
>>3937020
I accept your concession.
