Thanks! It's a type of pumice called feather rock, more fine grain than regular pumice but still soft and easy to carve. The whole rock is porous throughout but still solid enough to carve small details, and moss grows on it quickly so it looks older than it actually is.

Hard to say because there's so many variables. I'm sure it can be made fairly quickly if you have a plan of what you want to carve (which I don't have) and electric tools (which I don't use). It also depends on how detailed it is as well, so probably with all that done it would take you 2 weeks to a month to complete a single piece if you did 1 hour carving sessions every day.
