I can't even laugh at this desu, it's just depressing to see people fuck up this badly. The post was in 2017 so here's hoping they improved.

Why would I want to hear what a failed artist has to say?
>>

This shit is absolute nightmare fuel. I unironically like the creepyness

I've seen utter beginners getting more success on their first 20 pieces of portrait drawings following the Reilly method.

Loomis methods are painter techniques simplified
>>
"Diana's drawing skillfully illustrates how the hair sets over the head like a hat"
>>
>Jill has created a very soft drawing emphasizing the eyes, gently balanced with the shadow under the chin wrapping around behind the ear.
This guy is the most powerful crab I’ve ever seen

How old are his students? That makes a big difference. Maybe they’re not good but at least he’s encouraging them to draw and fostering their love for art
>>
>>4014743
Oh wait these are college students majoring in art. I thought they were middle schoolers
>>
>>4014743
He mentions in another post that it's a night class, so I'm assuming they're at least college aged.

I found the website for the college where he works and they link his blogs

At least the self portraits from the second semester of this class just look like typical /beg/shit, rather than literally horrifying.
>>
>>4014770
What the hell. This is literally symbol drawing
>>
>>4014467
Holy fuck I'm actually scared.
What the hell is going on there? Learning disability?
Even Betty Edward's students perform better after like a week of instruction.

College instruction.
these people are licensed to teach your children how to draw

I have seen the other side. I have seen true horror
>>
>>4014757
Middle schoolers it thought they were a class of special needs amputees
>>
All my life I thought that I was the worst at everything I did except sports
guess it isnt the case for drawing either
>>
>>4014467
Where do I sign up for his classes? His students are truly GMI
>>
>>4014834
Huh? It literally isn't. That's, like, the only major improvement from the OP pics, which are just symbol drawing.
>>
>>4014834
>its bad so its symbol drawing
this is why I can never take anything /ic/ says seriously.
setting aside how dumb of a term symbol drawing is, even under any retarded definition you can give, its wrong. You can clearly see that student attempting to capture form, it might not be done well, but you can clearly see the attempt at shading 3d forms.
