What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know the drill.

Yeah, I did.
>>
>>19623550
Could I perhaps get a link, or is it a private only Chinese thing?
>>
>>19623555
It's a Chinese thing, but it seems anyone can register. Btw be careful, many of their uploads are prepatched to Chinese.
https://www.eyny.com/forum-3691-1.html
>>
>>19623575
Thanks for that. I can see that some are listen in both Japanese and Chinese, does that mean that it's not prepatched and they just add a patch manually? Or do I have to change it ingame?
>>
>>19623628
I dunno. Probably depends on the upload. The game being in Japanese and the Chinese patch being packed in separately sounds like the most likely case.
>>
>>19623698
Either way I really appreciate it. Founds tons of visual novels that just had a bunch of dead torrents/downloads.

The real question is how many episodes is it going to have and when is it going to be finished. I'm guessing from pic related and how Hiruou hasn't said it's finished yet that it's becoming a bigger project then expected. It'll probably be his magnum opus and I'm really excited.

Finally done with Kakyuusei. I can see what they were trying to do with expanding the scenario from a vacation to a whole school year, and it is a sound idea in theory, but it just was not executed satisfactorily. The manual arranging of dates is a good addition, and when you first are at the point where you strategically plan your dates with as many girls as possible on the next day, the game is at its best. But because it cannot have the detail of the previous games with its increased scope, the in-game progress of time is and feels glanced over, the individual heroine arcs are formulaic and genericised instead of "handcrafted" like in the Doukyuusei games, you simply feel detached from the game and not really immersed at all in a classroom atmosphere. There sure are a lot of CGs (especially compared to the pathetic output of Rance 10 in that regard earlier this year, for example), but all unique events are short and the even shorter unvoiced dialogues are nearly all following an obvious pattern based on the hidden "affection points".

The characters are not bad, but nobody feels properly developed, and you never get a character arc that is completely out there, like with the kouhai in Doukyuusei 2. The protagonist, rival, and best friend have been basically recycled, as well as many major heroine traits. Feels like there were running out of steam with these standard dating sims (what with them going so far as to include a very silly alien girl/childhood promise[sub]plot), and I am not surprised that Hiruta was sick of renaige after this point.

(2/2)

Concerning the heroines, I guess there was some alright banter with Maki in the beginning, and the main heroine as well as the flower girl are "nice", if nothing else. Mayumi surely makes for an interesting heroine for a galge. Reiko probably had the most unique dynamics with the protagonist, but their perma-tsun relationship got pretty damn retarded near the end. I organised dates with the titutar love triangle underclasswomen in the same place on the same day combined with love hotel visits in the hope of some drama, and it is disappointing that the game does not acknowledge this (it only would if a generic random event triggered).

Aya Kadoi's art is good, more consistent than Takei, but Takei at his best is superior. The BGM was somewhat inferior. The game is very "clicky" because of the new interface restricting all choices to the very bottom of the screen, which adds to the feel of massive length of the game. Normally in this series you would try to hook up with as many girls as possible in a playthrough, but it is this length that just makes you give up and min-max after your first full playthrough. For some reason, you cannot even pick your confession target in the ending (with one exception). This game is not all bad though, you still get the "nanpa feeling", on occasion. But while I consider Doukyuusei 1+2 legendary kamige, this one is "merely" decent. I suppose I understand now why many people specifically clamoured for a Doukyuusei 3. Kakyuusei 2 is most likely still worse, won't bother with it anytime soon.

>>
>>19625100
besides cucking that one guy in a route i dont remember him being that bad
>>
>>19625150
He was really romantically indecisive at several points, like with the girl he cucks the guy over, Ruri. At one point Ruri was crying while doing the dishes because her reputation was ruined as a slut, the guy she loved wouldn't bite the bullet for her, etc etc.

Plus the whole Natsumi/Yuki "love triangle" thing going on, where it felt like 90% of the time he allowed Yuki help him try to woo Natsumi only to blow off Natsumi off when she tried to confess, etc.

I guess I wasn't expecting the MC of Graffiti to be such a moping faggot over his dead gf, not when he's got 2-3 better girls vying for his affection. When the uber rich hot girl Toushouguu asked him to date her I about punched a hole in my keyboard when he started bringing up his dead gf again.

I was mad because the MC completely forgot all about the detective work he was doing to find his dead gf's killer and only seems to use his dead gf as an excuse to avoid taking responsibility/commitment, something the other heroine Saya brings up as well when she asks him if he'll marry her if he has impregnated her after a 3 day and 3 night sex binge fest.

>>
>>19625754
It's puremore, not more. So you should expect something like one of their Shoujo anthology titles, only with adult office lady heroines instead.

Although I will admit that character you've posted, Yayoi, looks pretty cute. Especially since she looks like the main heroine and might be into bdsm if the website is any indication.
>>
>>19625782
I'm interested in the investigation aspect.
>>
>>19625808
>the investigation aspect.
If Shoujo Graffiti's "investigation aspect" is anything to go by, don't hold your breath. The only thing I'm expecting from Kiss&Crisis is another nukige with lots of nicely drawn H.

I am curious if they'll be relying on some of their old workhorses to voice the heroines, like Suzuya Maya and Himari. Puremore especially relies on those two a lot.

>>
I thought I'd read a VN a week now that it's summer, but I haven't been able to find anything that really captivated me (except mojika), so I just fap to nukige 1-2-3 times a day and leave it at that.
>>
>>19626783
How do you do this? I can barely wank once a week.
>>
>>19626621
In moege drama is caused by forgetting thing, heavy stupidity or misunderstandings, which are either caused from stupidity of characters or by the writer REALLY trying to cause this by purposely writing things like that (i.e. leaving out key information), while the characters should know about it.

It seems like enough people like it. My guess is that they simply dislike it if the story outcome isn't 100% obvious. So the drama is constructed in a way where it's super obvious who the good and bad guy or what wrong or right is, which tends to result into characters turning really really dumb at some point.

You can only hope it's not getting too bad if you don't like this style.

1) Do meditation and mindfulness,
2) limit 4chan to generals you enjoy,
3) don't read the news more than 5min a day in the morning (or quit reading news altogether),
4) quit online games, they'll never make you happy and you know it, instead play real fulfilling games like RPGs or adventure games instead (or RPG/Strategy VNs), or fun games to relax (like stuff from Nintendo) which aren't there to feed your pathetic damaged ego,
5) quit Youtube completely aside from a limited amount of channel you are genuinely interested in, for which you just have to activate the bell, in the morning you'll have mail notifications for those.

Give it 2 to 8 weeks and you'll be reborn, with a functioning attention span and the ability to truly enjoy what you're consuming.

That's what you don't get, discipline is something you build and forge, not something you're born with. The more you do something the more your brain gets accustomed to it, and the opposite is true, when you don't do something then your brain gets accustomed to that thing not being here. It's as simple as that, that's all there is to it.
>>
>>19628128

Dies Lrae translators really produced some good prose. You know, as if they were insecure about the object of their admiration and they were trying to make it look like something it isn't: a good literature.

Edward Snow gives a delicacy to translations of Rilke while Mitchell aims to bring forth its raw power.

Waley is also a very good prosist and has brought over countless eastern gems, though he might be overtly formal to some.

Ezra Pound, despite being wrong sometimes, is still one of the best in terms of artistry alone.

Iirc correctly most chink translations only add a temp file for their translations, you can just delete that and then you've got a Japanese release. That's if I recall correctly, another anon could maybe comment on that,

Anyone here read Clannad in Japanese? Just wondering how you would rate it, difficulty wise.

I read some of the English version years ago now when I knew absolutely nothing about visual novels (think that was my first one, actually), and ended up giving up after getting a bad end. Always wanted to give it another go, and now that I'm learning Japanese I have a good excuse to, but I'm worried about ruining the experience with my still relatively crappy Japanese ability. 余計な心配かな?
>>
>>19624444

>>
>>19629692

>>
>>19629704
>my still relatively crappy Japanese ability
I don't claim to be good. I'm saying asking a bunch of other people who also aren't good and more than likely haven't read the thing in question would be a waste of time. Was hoping in the thread about untranslated visual novels that I would find other people who read untranslated visual novels, but I guess not?
>>
>>19629719
I know you're new, but you should understand that questions about Japanese learning aren't welcome here. Ask on /r/visualnovels.

Or you know, quickly download Clannad's trial and see for fucking yourself.

>questions about Japanese learning
It wasn't a question about Japanese learning. I wasn't asking how to learn Japanese or begging you to tell me what I should read as a Japanese learner or anything like that. It was a simple inquiry regarding the difficulty level of a specific title. Had I made the same post in response to a screenshot of a newer title posted by someone else in the thread, I bet you wouldn't have cared.

>>19629758
>it's also hilarious that you consider yourself above DJT fags
I didn't really mean it to come across that way. I know there are people there who are better than me and who do actually read and stuff, but whenever I visit those threads 95% of the posts are just ultra-beginners arguing about the same things over and over again and never making it beyond Tae Kim/Genki/Core/RTK (these are the posters I was referring to as "dekinais").
>>
>>19629837
>Had I made the same post in response to a screenshot of a newer title posted by someone else in the thread, I bet you wouldn't have cared.

I'd still tell you to fuck off and check out the trial yourself. It's the easiest thing in the world and gives you a completely accurate answer. Or even check a video of the game on Youtube.

This general obstinately refuses to modify the OP to add rules like every other general does when they dislike certain topics being brought up every thread. So of course in every thread we get the same questions being asked which leads to the same bitching about people inevitably asking about topics that break the 'unofficial rules' that aren't posted anywhere.
>>
>>19630026
For example, last thread people were proposing to add a rule to the OP about no texthooker discussion, but like always it never happens.

Like I said, I don't want to ruin the experience for myself so I'm asking here instead.
>>
>>19629865
>gives you a completely accurate answer.
That's unlikely. Most VNs have some variation in the difficulty of the writing, especially if different routes are done by different writers. The YouTube idea is better, but it could still be difficult to ascertain the difficulty of the latter parts of the game without spoiling some of the story.

I highly doubt it. In order to be able to interpret Subahibi correctly you'd either have to be a genius or Sca-ji himself. Such an intricate piece was not meant for commoners' reading.
>>
>>19630125
There are a great deal of very high level concepts in SubaHibi and any aspiring reader is going to need to accept that he probably doesn’t understand it all. From there, you reach the point of actually researching and interpreting all this shit, which could take years, honestly.
>>
>>19629837
Implying you're still learning or mentioning something related to reading ability is enough to rile up the posters here.

It's probably still worth it though, just so people here can point to the OP for simplicity's sake rather than ranting at newfags.

As for nonexistent moderation and rule breakers, that isn't a new problem. The mods only seem to care about spammers, child porn, and nsfw pictures on blue boards. Breaking the arbitrary rules of generals doesn't matter to 99% of mods or jannies unless they are on their home board/general. Even "board rules" like not posting untranslated eroge on the /vn/ board on vg will never get you a warning much less a ban.

God I love Smee titles, they are a guilty pleasure of mine. It's just so refreshing to see MCs that aren't complete doormats and who can banter with the girls. Plus Smee doesn't try to cram in tons of H into every route which almost always causes pacing issues.

People just didn't understand or dropped after Rumi route, which was irreparabely damaging the whole game. The premise and the folklore behind it was actually fairly nice. Nitroplus did worse games. The people probably didn't play it beyond the Revenge-Porn which is a rather biting concept with what the game becomes later.
>>
>>19633986
Well, it's nitroplus, people know full well that the revenge premise is going to be twisted.
So far reactions are mixed, some are shocked by the low quality writing and surprised Nitroplus would release such a game, and others think it delivered on the premise and is a fitting Nitroplus game.
>>
>>19634143
Nono thats not the type of twisted that I mean. The writing is indeed low, also a reason why probably a 2 year into Genki & Tobira could read it just fine. The folklore that comes with the game and the hidden lore explorable due to the true route is nice though. Also the revenge-sex scenes have a few ways to interpret them. But the concepts get stale way too quickly. It would've been far better if you had an even more complex choice system by exploiting that you can look on feet, breasts or face for different reactions. The game is balls hard as it is though...the fucking windchime-flags.

What's the best gender change vn? Is it still Ai Mai Mist? Because I've played it 3 times already.

I just want a cute gender change vn that's not a nukige.
>>
>>19636987
Bunch of trap protag games, the superior version.
>>
>>19636987
I mean it goes without saying Ai Mai Mist is the best, there's no need to even ask.

I've been consulting the following list http://erogamescape.dyndns.org/~ap2/ero/toukei_kaiseki/user_infomation.php?user=amaginoboru, it seems to be a reasonably thorough collection of most TSge in existence. His taste is slightly different from mine but it's worth going through this list and checking out anything that looks good.

Obviously I'm a lot less experienced than this guy but from what I've played, Futaba Channel is pretty good, Saikyou no Furyou is garbage, and Love Kiss Anchor (which is by the same guy as Ai Mai Mist) is amazing, although nowhere near on the same level as Ai Mai Mist of course, and it's only TS in one route so might not appeal to people who don't like its other elements.

Also I'd like to ask if there's anything else you'd recommend, what other TSge have you played?
>>
>>19637188
Mostly nukige like all the Futaba Channel games, the X-change series, the Norn games The Dark Lord Is Feminized and I'm a Feminized Badass which are about as good as expected.

Then more vn fare, Futari wa My Angel, Kuru Kuru Couer, and Kyoukaisen no Hate.

The closest one to Ai Mai Mist is Futari wa My Angel I guess. Two guys become magical girls to fight the demon king and the cute pet partner doesn't know how to undo their forced gender change (they can't ever undo it of course). Only one route was any good though and the bad end is better than the good end, which is always silly.

Kyoukaisen no Hate is yuri. Which is good I guess but not really what I'm looking for.

Kuru Kuru Couer is only marginally playable. The MC is a fucking retard and every day you get to choose whether to be male or female so what's the fucking point? The heroines made up for it though.

Just a guess, but probably because Asuta didn't shy away from banging girls and was all about getting more wives. He was proactive about it, defended them from those who wanted to harm them, and wasn't afraid of chasing after his dream of marrying his "sisters" and collecting a harem.
>>19645243
>I'm not an ESL, and if anything is talking, why refer to it without using 'they' or 'them'?
They and them are plural pronouns, 'it' is singular. With how you don't know something basic like that, along with your poor grammar, you really do type like an ESL.
>>
>>19645389
>They and them are plural pronouns, 'it' is singular.

>going strong

Going weak, it seems. They mentioned they'll have release games through DMM, Steam and use crowdfunding.
>>
>>19648901
At least they have prospects for the future.
>>
>>19648901
Still strong in the dying eroge industry. Also they can laugh through the pain unlike sprite or key which kind of lost their charm and gave up.
>>
>>19648905
>>19648910
They'll probably have to rely on crowdfunding mainly.

That Tokyo Necro gatcha won't last long and Steam sales aren't strong.
>>
>>19648901
Nitroplus is probably the most diversified eroge company, diversification is the key to managing risk and keeping it low.
They do BL games, eroge, LNs, anime, mobage, online DMM games, Sonico merch, Taiwanese puppets ect ect.

They will never be the number one popular brand, but they can weather the storm as they have many profit venues.

Oh, it's over.

Wait, what? Is he kill?

I hope Urobuchi really comes back, I've had enough of Shimokura.

>>19648976
The main news is that they want to make more eroge, but might have to resort to >>19648901

Mojika seems to do pretty badly, in term of social media presence it was blown away by Nukitashi too

>They do BL games
>>
>>19649087
It's probably for the best since the market has been so saturated.
>>
>>19649087
It's probably an issue of evaluation, consumers don't find a value in erogue proportional to their pricetag.

Video games as a service is the trend right now, maybe some experimentation wouldn't hurt.

Where do you have the postscript from? can't find it on their site.

i guess, i mean they are like what, roughly $80-90 usd on release? Almost half my fortnightly autism bucks payment and more or the same cost as most AAA games on release.
>>
>>19649140
It's from the description of the video.
>>
>>19649072
It was successfully funded at roughly 39 million yen by 1,382 people.

I would pay for a dating/social simulator VN that updated regularly with new content and friends

Is there a good Japanese site to discuss VNs? Preferably, something that doesn't require a proxy to access.

And if there is, why are you even here?

So i'm trying to decide what series to dump my time into, and i'm having a bit of a hard time. I'm not expecting anything major, just maybe some opinions that could help me decide
the two series are Rance and Baldr, and which one should I dump my time into reading almost every game of that series?
>>
>>19650220
You don't want to read the entire Baldr series, trust me.
>>
>>19650220
You can just not be an autistic fuck and play whichever game you want whenever you want? Playing a lot of the same in a row will just leave you burned out and enjoying it less. Rance is a lot bettter than anything Baldr.

Also for some reason CTRL+S doesn't work for spoilers anymore, fucking 4chan x.
>>
>>19650291
I had heard that Baldr Zero was pretty bad, but I thought Sky, Force and Heart were supposed to be well received?
>>
>>19650334
The main problem is that it's way too early for you to be reading them.
