Honest answer? Get those Crosman phantoms in .22 that are somethimes on sale a hardware stores. Use crosman pellets. Quiet rabbit hunting for less than $100.

Yes, I don't like digging for shot.

Depends how you're hunting them.

If I'm on foot or its daytime, I use my 10/22.

If it's night time I shoot from the back of a truck with a shotgun and spotlight. You need a driver for the chase though.

>>
>>33357014
Once you know what to look for, they're not hard to spot. It's all about pattern recognition.

If you spook one into running, it'll usually run less than 40 yards if not pursued. Rabbits also tend to circle. They also don't recognize gunshots as danger. When you shoot at one, scan the area around where it is/was. A lot of times another rabbit will step out into the open to see what's going on.
>>
Since I am a Canada fag, I'll pull out my Norinco M14 knockoff because the RCMP will fucking shoot my dog if I DARE pull out my .22 pistol
>>
>>33356074
What would I use? My .22lr or my .410, or my pellet gun if I feel like bagging one in my yard

Any .17hmr/.17hm2 or whatever, any .22lr or .22mag if you want a little more distance. For lulz whatever the hell you want

As far as shotguns, .410 definitely works fine if you're walking around and flushing them, or any shotgun provided you have small enough shot. Just remember if you blast one with your 12gauge you're probably going to be spitting out shot a little more often

Sometimes the rabbits just show up on my porch already dead courtesy of my labrador retriever. They go through the chain link, get spooked by the dog and foeget how to get back through
>>
>>33364429

Rabbits tend to be more a brushland type of critter. They like semi-open areas with scrub borders. That gives them the open flats where their speed pays off, with sheltered spots to duck into.

Also, look for rabbit poop. Looks like pellets, just like goat shit only smaller. If you find an area that has any, look for a good spot to sit and start glassing the edges. They should start moving around again about 20-30 minutes after you settle in.

Fire trails are great for rabbits. Freeze as soon as you spot one, take your time shouldering your rifle. Move at the same tempo as a browsing deer. Watch cows graze to get an idea of what that's like. If you start moving all twitchy and shit, you'll spook them. Twitchy is what stalking cats do with their tails. Rabbits key in on that shit because the business end of the entire food chain is pointed square at them.

If you take a shot and miss, they'll often hold still for a second shot. Provided your miss didn't hit anywhere they can see. They like to know where the threat is before jumping.

Rabbit is tasty as fuck and the way they breed it's constant protein as long as you have enough fat in your diet. Catch a few larger bucks and a dozen doe let them fuck the days away. cut a yard of fresh hay every few days then stuff it in the hutches and you have dinner for ever.

story time
>driving around with a 30 rack of keystone and bammer weed in a chevy quad cab truck in the oil fields of central CA
>im behind the driver, 4 guys in the car, all have .22 pistols. one at each window.
>just cruising around getting buzzed and shooting at rabbits, and some times seeing a big Jack the size of a doberman out there
>what happens is someone pops off and then we all turn to see if he got it or not, the other guys are doing pretty decent despite the fact we are driving rough roads and passing around joints
>they finally realize that whenever I spot a rabbit Im shooting around it, trying to scare it off instead of just being a terrible shot
>so nine out of every ten rabbits I see are getting some shots around it and it just bolts off towards the burrow or beelines it over the hills.
>but that 1 out of every 10th rabbit. I think I shot too close maybe because they would just freeze and hunker down.
>other 3 guys all swing around to where I'm shooting and proceed to light this rabbit up
>this was when it was a 500 brick of .22 for less than 10 bucks
>so you know they are all mag dumping into this little guy
>Rabbit is just shredded, for some reason around the 4th or 5th beer everyone in the car can just light things up now when they shoot

followed by
>see rabbit, rest marlin 60 on window sill and preparing to pull trigger on the rabbit at a 45 degree angle in front of me
>driver whips his door open and puts his fucking skull right against my barrel as I'm applying pressure to the trigger

I've yet to hunt rabbos but i'd just use one of the rifles I already own. Either an AK or a Type 99. Except the little guy would probably explode if I hit him making the meat and hide worthless so I probably wouldn't actually hunt rabbits with anything bigger than a .22. They're basically cuter rats.

the problem with modern snowflake comms/socs is that for some reason they think they will be exempt from collectivization. and to some extent for some of them it would be true; under soc/comms, a hand full of party memeber own everything, even the people under them.

Little badger .22 LR 5 to 50 m with CCI quiet segmented ammo, won't wake the family when I'm shooting rabbits from the verandah.
22-250 Remington 700 200 to 400 m

Rabbits are easy to shoot on a farm.
Feral dogs are next easiest.
Hardest are the poachers, they are always on quads with night vision and thermal scopes. I am getting better at them though, got one in the ass with the little badger two weeks ago, sweet shot from one fifty meters with the rifle zeroed at fifty from a tree stand, arround the trunk.

>A gun, regardless of how you put it is used to kill shit.
No. A gun is used to shoot bullets. At paper, at steel, at inanimate objects, at animals, and at humans.

That's like saying a bow and arrow is used to kill stuff. What is recreational archery?

I've actually always wondered if Sock'em Boppers could effectively kill something. I mean, you know the designers and marketers had to have made sure they where safe and all, what with literally selling something kids are supposed to beat the shit out of each other with.

I know somewhere there's an archive or something with test data that shows design data or testing of some sort. Something that proves they where safe "enough" for market and safe "enough" to prevent any lawsuits. I'm also sure there's tests that where done to show the breaking point of a sock'em bopper, something like a bop to pop ratio. I emailed the company requesting such data but they have yet to respond.

I'm sure you could easily take a rabbit out with one. If they can withstand constant abuse for kids I'm sure they can survive like seven or eight good hits on a rabbit from an adult. It would depend on the rabbits size as well and if you have one hand free to hold it down. Hell, you could probably use both of them if you can sneak up on the rabbit.

Well, there's also the factor of the amount of air in them. With them heavily inflated they're much harder, and prone to bursting. On the other hand if they're lightly inflated they'd last longer but you'd have the possibility of actually punching the rabbit due to the lack of cushioning and that's something we've all done.

I'd say I'd use a single sock'em bopper, filled to about 26PSI for a stable compromise in firmness and durability. I'd a moderately sized rabbit about 12 bops or so to get the job done.
