It's a full size griptillian. They aren't particularly huge knives. My SOG before I broke it was a much bigger blade, but the steel and build quality in this one is much better. Barely needs any maintenance to stay really sharp even while being used as a work knife.

Wave feature and the CQC6. It’s the only reason I like Emerson. It’s also why I don’t own any Emerson’s. All my friends fell for the meme. They are kershaw teir quality with 154CM Steel. Add to that they are liner locks commanding prices seen with priopriotary systems. The cqc6 is a meme knife popularized by Special Forces (mainly seals). When one got auctioned for 25k+ by the osama killed everyone wanted one but couldn’t do the bought other Emerson’s instead.
>>
>>35428183
Depends on the person. Only thing that is remotely of value, or innovative about Emerson knives, is the wave technology.

I don't understand why people think you need to artistically disassemble everything to clean it. Unless it's literally caked in shit, soap and water is more than adequate.

Knifecenter just put out a Sprint run of the PM2 with carbon fiber scales and 52100 steel blade.

I got excited when I heard they were doing another PM2 but honestly it doesn't look a whole lot different, s30v is already a great steel, and G10 scales are very tough. I can't justify spending an extra fifty bucks for a higher maintenance steel.

Wish is was Pakkawood and s30vn or something, that'd be stylish.

A little update on the Kizer fuckup-kasi, the dullest and grittiest knife shat out of china

The red area pokes out when it is closed, from between the jimpings at the other red area, and you can actually cut yourself if you press your finger down on that area when the knife is closed.

The green point in the design of the handle keeps you from properly sharpening the edge at the red area, unless you sharpen at a retarted angle, and the only area that ends up being useable sharp is the blue one. You could just take it apart everytime you sharpen it, but I am not that patient and even then the chance of accidentally cutting a wound on the tip of yoru finger if you somehow slip off of the flipper bothers me.

So I am going to cold-grind painstaikingly slowly a finger groove onto the blade which fixes the problems and in my opinnion is how the knife should have been designed in the first place to be a presentable knife. I don't know if mine's just fucked up from the factory for no good reason or if they all are like these, but I lost a months worth of salary into this so I am going to make it work come hell or high water.

Going to have to really look at these products carefully now instead of trusting in the Kizer brand if they can put out such a horrible knife in their good consience while pushing out so many good ones a the same time.

>Why do people like Emerson?
you'll find that most people here don't.
personally, i do:

they feel great in your hand, so ergonomics
ok, not the best steel, but they're easy to sharpen
good for cutting stuff if you have a job where you need a knife, good for hacking at stuff without breaking etc
good warranty etc
+ i like a lot of the blades & stuff and think they just look nice

there will probably be an individual argument for everyone point i made, but i don't care. i think they're pretty good knives.

Boker has three main brands.

Boker/tree - Boker's top of the line knives

Yours is a Magnum. There are a few good Magnums and yours looks alright. I would avoid it in the future.

What should i look for in a skinning knife (guthook preferred)
>>
>>35472947
Pretty much the only thing you need in a skinning knife is a skinning hook, and it should be a one trick pony that you don't use for anything else. For pulling off the rest of the skin any fixed blade with regular elbow grease will work. For gutting, any short 3-4" folding or fixed blade will work. For removing the head , and similar bone cutting, use garden shears, or an axe,

That's why I they are favorite knife company despite their flaws. Still, you can't sharpen out poor blade centering.

I'm considering an inox Nº8 to try the steel and mod the handle into a different way.

The one in the picture is like 15 years old. I abused the blade when I was learning to sharpen and even after that it stills cut fine.

I always wondered why people buy expensive knives when chink ones are really cheap, stuff like Sanrenmu and Ganzo.

After actually using them, and seeing how bad is the edge retention, now I understand.

I get really mad using a knife that isn't razor sharp. So what budget knife would you suggest me? Maybe on the 30 bucks range, 50 tops.
