And I'm quite smitten with the belt too. I've never used a traditional style war belt as I wanted something a bit more low profile. Be warned that aws has shit-tier customer service, But their products are legit. Also scored a pistol mag pouch from them which is real close to a taco pouch that I'm happy with.

Next on my list is a slick carrier, some plates, and some kywis for my mags on my belt. My strike industries hypalon thingy doesn't get my dick as hard as it used to

I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. That's what I'm thinking, but the LWPC seems to have some extra utility with the built-in kangaroo pouch and admin pouch, plus the MOLLE back panel. I'm just hesitating because I'm not sure how much I'd use those, and the Slickster is much more in line with the limited use I'd get out of it.

Any idea how durable the Slickster is? Doesn't seem to be as robust-looking as other carriers.

hould have mentioned this: if the cummerbund on the Velocity Systems is replaceable, you can always buy the Ferro Carry Cummerbund (iirc) separately. So don't let that hold you back. Didn't see any molle on the LWPC btw...kangaroo pouch would be kinda nice though
>>
>>35829411
The one O P Tactical sells has MOLLE on back, but it's out of stock at the moment.

Honestly, I'm starting to think I'm overthinking it considering how infrequent I'll actually use this thing, if ever. I'm thinking I'll just get the Slickster so I can snap my Spiritus Micro Fight on it and go if I need to, and if I ever for some bizarre reason start finding myself in need of a MOLLE back panel and admin pouch capabilities, I can pick up an LWPC down the line.

I actually havr both carriers and I think the OPTac carrier is better. Slickster is good if you're looking for slim and minimal, and the cummerbund is pretty neato but my body shape kept me from using all of the elastic loops. Three magazines on my left, tourniquet radio and flashlight on my right.

OpTac is basically the Slickster but with MOLLE. Both use the SwiftClip system which is a good idea but I don't have the reasons to use it to its full extend of being able to switch your loadout on the fly.

Slickster breathes a bit easier than OpTac. The cummerbund doesn't hug as close so theres a little more airflow, but its not loose. Its always humid as shit here so I just expect to sweat like a bitch anyways.
>>
>>35830267
Fair enough. I'm still leaning pretty hard on the Slickster since I don't see myself really needing a MOLLE back any time soon (or even an admin pocket), but if the LWPC is in stock when I'm ready to buy, I might snag it instead depending on how much it is at the time. Thanks!

Not really a super /gq/ question, but does anyone have suggestions for ballistic eyepro?

I've been using M-Frame 2.0s for about 6 years now and my clear lenses are starting to delaminate around the edges. I'm not sure if the market has changed enough to make it worth swapping frames/brands entirely to a newer design, or if I should just cough up $30 for a replacement lens, though.

Is there any good way to use a larger antenna on something like the Baofeng UV-5R (or other better handheld radio) without making it significantly more difficult to use the controls on the radio? Say I wanted an antenna that was about 4 feet long. Having it connected directly to the radio will make the radio awkward to hold, but using a remote mic and having the radio positioned in what would be a convenient spot for not having the antenna get in the way will make it hard to see the screen and use the controls on the radio. Is having the antenna remotely mounted rather than directly attached to the radio an option?

a longer antenna will not equate to more range...especially on UHF/VHF

You need to come to the realization that in order to get more range out of a Baofeng of most hand held radios, you need height.
>>
>>35836073
>a longer antenna will not equate to more range...especially on UHF/VHF
>what is gain
While height helps get you a longer radio horizon, that doesn't mean a higher gain antenna would allow you to more effectively make use of that longer radio horizon.

On the subject matter of body armour:
Why cover only your vital organs alone? I know plates can be pretty heavy in a vest, but why protect the chest and head alone? What about your legs or your arms? Shoulders and neck?
>>
>>35838189
>What about your legs or your arms? Shoulders and neck?
Weight, mobility and the fact that being shot in the arm is slightly less likely to end you than getting shot in the heart
>>
>>35838282
Your neck is at least something to consider though, no?
>>
>>35838305
They make frag neck guards but most of the time it kills mobility in favor of slight protection when you start adding armor to random places

>>
>>35828375
Am newfag, what's the name of that jacket? Generic softshell or?
>>
>>35838189
>Why cover only your vital organs alone?
Because armor is heavy, and just enough to protect against being shot in the least survivable places is enough for most people. A bullet to the arm or leg is significantly more survivable and treatable in the field (even if it means losing that limb) versus a bullet to the chest. Also, the most likely place rifle protection will be added as the weight comes down will be the lower torso and not the extremities.

The solutions are out there bro, but they're heavy/awkward and expensive. You can try to plug the gaps in armor, but what about bulletproofing your hands? Joints? Bottoms of your feet? It's gonna take lightweight, next gen materials (eg graphene). thanks buddy

What does /gq/ use for their under layers? I was thinking either thermal or fleece under my gorka but am not sure. Am open to other suggestions.

I wear a chest rig or a plate carrier with it. I have 3 pistol mags to my name but the holster came with a single pistol mag holder. I don't know if it would be too big and force me to push my rifle mags further back. but i think 90 or 100 rounds for my carbine and 30 of 9mm would be a hell of a way to walk around when in a relaxed posture.

>>35827914
is one of my chest rigs
>>35828427
is my plate carrier
>>
>>35841025
I want to be able to throw actual plates in it for larping tho, rather than buying two slick carriers
>>
>>35841416
so, on the subject of better glass, 'cause I'm looking to get into it soon, what makes better glass? Do certain chassis have better lenses? Are there certain types of lenses to be upgraded into chassis? Or do I just have to pick a chassis and roll with the lenses in it? Or are all lenses the same with the tube making the difference?
>>
>>35841939
There are plenty of carriers that do that and I doubt you'd be able to get an LV-MBAV
>>
Any pointers on my Warbelt? Molle holster is on its way but I don't know if to leave it at that or add anything else

Still means you have a better chance of getting gf. Buying gucci gear generally requires a stable, decent job, which also precludes you from being a NEET basically.

I had a girlfriend before I went to college.

Thinking about selling my previous gen slickster, has only been put on a few times, mostly just sat in my closet with the plates in.

Is $75 a reasonable asking price? Or should I go higher or lower.

Has anyone tried or tested Battle Steel level IV plates? Don't see anything about them in the pastebin and haven't heard much about them. It'd cut off about $80 total for a set coming down from SKD plates.

spec ops brand T.H.E. pack looks perfect and I got mine for $120 but that was a sale price...maybe check ebay? Shit is worth every penny - you can stick a stiff backpad in the hydration pouch that actually makes it viable for rucking longer distances

>>35841572
Now I see - belt definitely compliments the rigs well. Do you just carry the 2 pistol mags or keep the 3rd somewhere? More than adequate first line though.

>>35842750
I think it's a triple shingle on the belt so actually 5+1. Gotta roll deep with only 8-10 round mags

if im wearing the belt only it would be 2 primary 1 secondary, loaded pistol and carbine, belt knife, pocket knife and quick access to more shit if need be.

i can wear a normal hoodie and hide all of that belt line and probably a chicom.

mod 3 is kind of a meme, personally i wouldn't want to introduce another way for water or foreign contaminants to get on electronics, even just on contacts

bnvd-g is supposed to be decent

dual pvs-14 is heavy as shit

only reason for thinking of dual pvs 14 is so i can pop one off and loan it to a buddy so we can both play NVG inna dark. As much as id love bnvd-g, i think im just gonna buy a cheap PVS-14 and do that. I dunno, kinda want dual though.
