The tube goes for about $800, chinese sight is $120ish, rubber pratice rocket is about 120 as well.

The demilled HE round though is almost impossible to find, I got it for 200 but I see them closer to 500 on gunbroker and similar places, have not really seen any at shows.

It's the .22LR version. It works fine if you do the proper amount of turns on the mag but it will never be more than a plinker. The sights are weird, back sight is on the mag. Also where the sights are mounted in comparison to the grip any twist of the wrist and you sight picture gos way out of wack, (front sight is over your hand and rear is behind your wrist fish tailing around. Its just a MEME gun IMHO.

gun shows.

If it has the box, is in fairly good shape and the glass is clear, it should fetch around $500 at retail value. If you sell it to a vender, expect closer to $250-$350.

For the $490 I paid, it's well worth the money. I used it as a squirrel decimator up in the mountains of North Carolina. The only malfunction I've had was when I loaded 32? gr old ass V-MAX ammo into it, anything below 40gr has a difficult time cycling. It's incredibly fun to shoot, and hoping one day to have a PMR to match.

It's a 7.5mm French. While I've got no personal experience with the .308 conversions, I'd avoid them and just get one in 7.5mm. The ammo might cost more with the 7.5, but just consider that as the price you pay to get something you know will work. I'd imagine that the little money you save by shooting .308 won't be enough to offset the frustrations and work spent trying to make it function properly.
>>
>>36374048
I don't shoot that much, but seriously I can get steel 308 for half as much as 7.5 french. You're probably right that the conversions are wild cards.
>>
>>36374099
Especially if you're not shooting too often, I'd go 7.5mm. A single trip to the range might cost a little more than it otherwise would, but that's not going to matter much when it's not something you do much in the first place. Of course, the final decision is yours to make, but if ammo costs are something you're going to concern yourself over, I wouldn't go around gambling $500+ either.

Time permitting. They get shot more than a lot of the collection, yeah. Love taking the Hakim out, always a good conversation starter once people realize it's not an SKS. Same sorta thing happens with the VZ52.
Used a chamber sleeve in the VZ52 so I can feed it x39 and it's been an excellent plinker since. The shorter x39 rounds don't always play nice with the x45 magazine, though.

Any quirks that make the Hakim different than an SKS?
>>
>>36374231
Tell me about your M16 build. Looking to do a retro AR like that, but im having a hard time sourcing an A2 upper, (or complete rifle) that didn't hold its crazy high price when the AR market bottomed out.

>>36374339
>Any quirks that make the Hakim different than an SKS?
Has an adjustable gas system and a removable box mag. The reciever/bolt/safety construction is also pretty unique since it's lineage is Scandinavian. Real pleasure to shoot, can't say enough good things about it. Plus they're decently rare, so it's nice to have if you're a milsurp guy.

RRA (purchased before they showed their colors as antigun sellouts) complete HBAR upper, reprofiled to govt' profile by Adco Firearms. Del Ton lower & LPK, stock kit from JSE surplus, unknown make. Came together very solid and I'm happy with it. Was about $950 total if I remember correctly, not including the accessories. Probably could've gone cheaper if I had assembled the upper myself but I didn't have a vise or torque wrench at the time.
The one thing you have to keep in mind about the A2 is that the stock is pretty fucking long, so if you're a manlet like me you won't be doing any HSLD shit with it. Which is partially the reason I built the carbine clone.
>>36374367
That sounds really cool, I'd love to snag one sometime. Uses standard x39 stripper clips?

I forgot to mention, if you do get a MAS 49/56 in 7.5mm, you should probably make sure that you've got some sort of aftermarket firing pin in. Some are made from something other than steel, some add a pin so it's no longer free-floating. Commercial primers on 7.5 French are a lot more soft than what their military used, so you'd find yourself getting a lot of slam fires if you stuck with the original. I'd go ahead and ask whoever you get one from if they've done so already.

That's a Rasheed, not a Hakim. The Rasheed is a scaled down version of the Hakim chambered for 7.62x39. The Hakim is chambered in 8mm Mauser. The stripper clips for the Rasheed are the same as SKS ones.

>>36374339
The Rasheed (as well as the Hakim and the Ljungman) use a true direct impingement gas system. They're generally viewed in a negative light due to their extremely short service history. They're alleged to heat up and burn the shooter attempting to load it from the top, after a prolonged amount of consistent firing.

I believe your referring to the AMT Automag III? It's a long bitch (M1991A1 for size comparison). AMT as far as I know shut it's doors in the early 2000'ns. The current holder of the tooling seems to not be doing anything with the Automag series. This is the odd duck since it's .30 Carbine rather than a magnum like the rest of the series. So it's now all secondary market. Looking on gunbroker a few days ago this one seems to be asking priced as I remember at $1.2k'ish.

It's basically a bootleg 1911 action that looks like it had autism, stainless steel, impratical as fuck, and fully adjustable rear sight.
