We don't. The only problem with telnyashkas is that the most commonly available kind is the light blue sort, and you're basically wearing an unearned airborne tab and jump wings when you wear one outside of reenacting or private LARPing.

Got the peltor 6 pin PTT, just need to get an adapter and an actual radio pouch
>>

Want to fill anyone in or are you just trying to get attention?

Looking for advice.

Whats a good like cummerbund/belt to wear with LBT plate carrier?

Is there a good alternative to a camel back? I'd like to be able to pick up a ruck with out popping my water supply...

What would you consider essentials to carry on your person (plate carrier/belt) versus what can I leave behind? Trying to re-organize my plate carrier but feel like I miss the capacity of my LBV.

Peltors have powered low pass filters right? I.e. I can hear conversations but gun shots are quieted. If so, recommendation?
>>

The only alternative to a camel back are canteens m8
>>
>>39397237
Damn. Is there a hose straw attachment like a came back has? I know there is the CBRN gas mask hose but just something for everyday use? I actually kind of prefer canteens desu but the accessibility of camel backs cant be beat.

5+ rifle mags, 2 pistol mags, IFAK, extra TQ, knife is the minimum imo. Everything else is mission dependent.
>Peltors have powered low pass filters right? I.e. I can hear conversations but gun shots are quieted. If so, recommendation?
Yes. Peltor or Sordin. Howard Leight if you are poor.

You should try shooting a Trooper 2 Gun match. You'll learn what gear doesn't work pretty quick.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a jpc 2.0, I know some anons run them here, thoughts please.
Thinking of doing 3 mags front, ifak, hydration, two tqs and a signal pouch.
Maybe 6x6 side plates (leaning towards no, mission dependent on if Im doing close quarters).
MBITR Flaps to hold my shank of choice and one more mag.

Thoughts on this carrier:
https://www.optactical.com/vesyliweplca.html

I'm looking for a carrier with mesh (I sweat a lot), ideally rear molle, would be great if it had tubes, wide thick shoulder pads, drag handle, front swift clip dedicated (no front flap ideally).

Does anyone make anything like this?

>>39397410
Are drain grommets hard to install? Think I could get one on my counterweight pouch?
Also yeah I think a section of loop on the outside flap would be good for patches and stuff.

People wear Telnyashkas in Russia all the time, even women. Nobody really cares because Russians aren't autistic enough to scream stolen valor over a damn shirt, also the conscription over there keeps military and other things a smaller deal than over in the States. Either way wear what you want, it isn't just the VDV that wears it either.

Mixed camo can look good if they're just similar enough to work, or if the environment suits it. The Canadian have an interesting way of doing it, pic related.
MARSOC is pretty aesthetic too with their blending of M81 and Coyote Brown. Early Iraq War photos also look pretty neat with 3 color DCU, M81, and Desert MARPAT all mixed together. Tigerstripe, ERDL, and OD green also look /fa/ as fuck in Vietnam.

desu you need to bite the bullet and come up with a trip. As much as I hate tripfags I think you have the skills that a lot of people want to learn from so a trip would be useful.
I think, 'hairy knuckled based sewing black guy' or something like that would be appropriate.

Was directed to /gq/ with my question a week or so ago: tryna make a choice between chest rig or plate carrier: looking at JPC 2.0 and the PIG UCR (all molle), what else should I be considering, as in what products? I know PIG has a pc too. I think whichever I go with, I'll add a belt, if it matters.
>>
>>39410049
>chest rig
additional way to store gear, ammo, pouches
>PC
body armor with all the features of a chest rig that can be added

plate carrier if youre actually gonna get some plates. chest rigs are supplemental.

I've only ever used the IBA/IOTV, but I assume better PCs can compress slightly when not using plates? From my experience, body armor is bulky even without plates.

>>39408639
mixing camo is one of the biggest sins a man can commit. not only does it look liek complete trash, but renders the entire point you're wearing camo useless. Think about it, it's called, CAMO. not CAMOS. to add to that, when you mix one patttern with the other, you get two different blobs that stick out and make you more noticeable than if you WEREN'T wearing camo. Wanna camo mix? cool! we've been doing it since the dawn of man, that's how we've got the camos we've got today. but mix them bro, don't them together. Mixing would form a whole other camo, and obvi you can't do that with fabrics.

tldr; it's not goo

If I'm checking out battle belts to just look cool and carry pistol mags can I do worse than the condor Amazon special, or would /gq/ recommend the whole hog 85 USD HSGI cobra, plus HSGI battle belt, or something like the Crye setup with the MRB and low profile battle belt? Is there a point of diminishing returns? If I bought the cheaper condor setup (100 bucks for belt, battle belt, pistol mags, extra dump pouch) I'd probably upgrade anyway in a few years after seeing what I really like... Tough call.

hello friends,

Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.

What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.

Here is the questions. The ducttape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.

Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?

BTW, I am, of course, usually carrying a pair of ceramic plates in my briefcase so that I can shield my head. My SO (we work as a team when necessary) has a similar accessory containing a breakdown NEF single-shot 300 WinMag with an 18" bbl. The plan is that I shield us with my body and “catch the rounds” while she assembles the NEF. I lay down covering fire with my 23 (Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrel) and she makes the long shots. I will then throw smoke grenades to obscure the area while continuing to lay covering fire. The problem, of course, is when I have to turn my back to run, and then the problem crops up.

Thanks!

I am now thinking that the best thing to do is to have my wife make an “undervest” with pouches front and rear for the additional plates. This would let me have three plates in front (probably too hot and two in back. What I’m also asking her to do is to sew in a sleeve for an ASP collapsible baton. Right now I’m taping the ASP to my right calf (the left calf is where I have my G27). I am the Sergeant of a three-man Rapid Tactical Force at one of America’s largest indoor retail shopping areas. Although there are typically between fifteen and twenty normal security officers working the beat there, we decided a while ago that it would be best to have a specilized force for violent individuals. We use modified electric vehicles and can be anywhere on a given floor within eight and a half minutes.Naturally, the regular security people are unarmed. We “RTFers”, by arrangement with the local police, carry high-strength OC spray and batons. If we have a full tactical alert and permission from the local LEOs we also have a Mossberg 500 with less-lethal rounds and two K-frame Smith .38s loaded with 158gr. LRN.Basically, the situation is that we get the call, we lock up the situation, put everything five by five, and cordon the area until the local authorities arrive. We’re cops, we just don’t get the glory. I am not permitted to carry Glocks on duty; however, when my wife picks me up from work I strap on the “Deadly Duo” of a 27 and 23, each with Bar-Sto .357 bbl.I am writing a proposal to replace our current Mossberg-Smith armament.

If you are moving or shooting or doing anything at all its pointless. the way ive jerry rigged it is plugging headphones into a trucker mic and wearing the ear buds under my range guards. which is fucking ass but at least i can hear. if you are going to drop the money get comtac 3s. just go look at ebay and the cool guy gear facebook.

Hello friends,

Is the Steiner 8x30 the current binocular being used by the United States military?
How good is it?

Where to get QD 90 degree bite valve for my water bladder that isn't terrible? I've tried both of Source's offerings but the flowrate is like sucking rock-hard constipated shits from a man's tightly-clenched virgin asshole through a bendy straw. I like their bladders though. Currently using a Source bladder with Camelbak tube/valve.

Is there such a thing as patches of hook and loop that has both sides as loop?

I got some cheap plate carrier and the shoulder straps use hook and loop to adjust, and to adjust them down you have to have the hook strap sticking out. The hooks face down, so it isn't too bad but I'd rather have them covered by something. The part that overlaps this is another set of hook and loop, but the loops face up and the hooks face down. If I had a patch of double sided loop, I could fold over and mate face up hook and face down hook together, keeping the strap out of the way and keeping the shoulder straps nice and neat.

thats exactly what Im saying
thats why I was naming the exposed parts
I have an idea for just a kilt kinda skirt thing
just layer fiberglass fabric, ceramic tiles, fiberglass epoxy into a kinda skirt weave that just hangs.

really it would just be a 12 x 12 inches piece of flap to keep you from getting gun shot

They usually make those triangular.
Look for groin armour.

Either you didn't use the 'twist lock' or whatever valve from source, or you were using it wrong

it's what I use and it's almost too much flow for me and if I'm retarded i'll accidentally aspirate a little from the volume

Take two pieces of self adhesive loop, then stick them together - adhesive to adhesive.

Pull the manual for the helmet. There are recs for where the pads NEED to be but there is allowance for adjustability. Also, Oregon Aero is the goods. (And also, like sewfag says - get thinner pads if the guidelines in the manual indicate such.)
