Using Voice Pitch Analyzer app. Is there any hope for me? ugh 5'11" broad shoulders, deep voice. At the fucking least my face doesnt yell testosterone but still.
>>
>>10080143
are you even trying to raise your pitch nigga
>>
>>10080170
No, I'm not. The app says that I try to talk normally
>>
>>10080200
You need to try at least some bit, this is my natural voice
>>
>>10080200
>>10080207

>>
>>10080216

>>

A wide male range? Were you a singer or actor that just started voice training? That's rare
>>
>>10080241
No I'm not. Maybe the mic isn't working as it should?
>>
>>10080143

LMAO? You think your voice is low? I'm at 90 Mhz. Anyway, pitch isn't the big thing. It's resonance. Lift your larynx.
>>
>>10080143
i was measured professionally by a speech therapist and got 225hz average
at home with my own gaming headset i would get 175-185hz
my point is that it might not be accurate because of the equipment you are using

>>
>>10080498
But I feel like I'm forcing the voice to have a higher pitch and that seems like its not the purpose? I dont know..
>>
>>10080537
thats exactly the purpose, after a while it wont be forced and be natural, thats the goal of the practice

I guess I'm lucky to have this pitch in my 20s (no training, just raising it a bit), but my voice doesn't pass for shit because I can't get resonance right.
PITCH IS NOT IMPORTANT.
>>
>>10083788
resonance should be the easy part
unless you can't sing I guess
I fully trained my own voice differently and but I tried out the swallow and hold and panting methods for fun yesterday and they seem pretty effective. you just have to put some time into it
it took me 4 months to come up with a method and transition my voice, about 6 months for passing voice and my voice still improves and becomes more full and natural ever day after 2 years
my theory also is that to really have a proper female voice and all unconscious noises i.e. coughing, sneezing, pain you have to commit to it and stop using your male voice forever. I don't think I even have a male voice anymore when I try and drop down my voice just cracks out.
pitch IS important, but yours is probably good enough

mine
>>10083364
>>10083035
>>
>>10083855
Pitch is not that important unless it's really low. There are low-pitched women voices that sound undoubtedly female. Though I do think that high-pitched voices sound better, esp if you are a tranny. Though again I'd rather have a good resonance.
>>
>>10083871
imo when you're trans and there's always some features that don't quite add up having a higher girly voice is the key to passing
try experimenting with the break inbetween your upper and lower range and try and push that smaller and smaller from either end

Oh sorry I forgot to say it was in my language ;_; I'm training on it bc i'm trying to pass here (and have some difficulties to control the pitch in certain phrases).

>A little quiet maybe?
Ahh does that have an impact? I can try training it to sound louder if necessary
>>
>>10085365
On another listen I don't think volume is an issue, your voice sounds female imo but occasionally when you end a sentence your voice seems to change a little? It doesn't happen every time and it may only be something I'm hearing because I'm specifically looking for something non female to hear, overall seems really good.
>>
>>10085421
It does, i think it's kinda forced depending on the sentence
I'm currently hoping it's a matter of the voice cracking due to lack of muscle strength, i never trained it specifically to sound like a girl (just used to sing a bit). I'll try the exercises anons been posting and see if it improves.

At least i feel secure because it isn't completely fucked like i thought it to be, thanks!!

How to raise pitch :v
>>
>>10083855
this stuff is inspiring
how was it in the beginning, how did you figure out the resonance stuff?
>>
>>10081585
Pretty sure the easiest is breasts since you literally just pop pills.
>>
>>10097781
I have a bit of singing experience so I had a little more understanding of resonance than some people do. I would just talk out loud and push it up higher and higher to "behind my nose". what helped me is holding my hand out flat and matching the height my resonance was coming from as I spoke. eventually a lot of your chest resonance gets lost if you stop using it for long enough so even if your pitch drops down a bit, which is easy to do, you don't necessarily instantly read as male.

>try the hand trick, I found it super helpful
>>
>>10097830
also, always, always work on your voice and never give up.
imo it's the number one priority for passing (after HRT) because you can look like a 9/10 cis female but when you open your mouth and a tranny voice comes out you insta fail
girls come in all shapes and sizes so if you get your voice down perfect and you're not too over the top hon, most people will assume you're just ugly, not trans

Okay. I watched the videos and for my first time I'm trying the video. I'm cringing real hard and I don't know if I'm doing it correctly or what exactly to change to make it sound more natural and not like that. Yuck. But here is my first attempt. Pre-HRT or anything in particular.
https://vocaroo.com/i/s0CibYu3FL9J
>>
to anyone saying hrt will help the voice. it wont, its simple biology, once the larynx is developed, it wont change due to hormonal influences

tell me it didn't help
https://vocaroo.com/i/s1UHG6UtUwdY
>>
>>10101825
I've heard people who sound that bad after years c:
everybody needs to start somewhere, just push it higher behind your nose, practice pushing your head voice lower and your chest voice higher to get rid of as much of your voice "crack" as possible
when you bring together your upper and lower range it unlocks the range that your female voice is found in
proper HRT will help soften the voice too
>>
>>10101891
i highly doubt thats happened without training.
>>
>>10102207
if you read my posts you would see I figured it out with no internet access and no help
>>
>>10102266
you can obviously make it far on your own, i did myself make it far, but that is not because of the hrt. i mean think about it, if it really was the hrt doing the work, why does everyone talk about voice training and why arent more mtfs sounding female?
dont get me wrong your voice is great and personally im envious of it, but its something that you achieved on your own, not some hrt magic.
>>
>>10102334
any time I've gone off hormones for a couple days because of pharmacy being out of stock, etc it's affected my voice. I think the voice softening on HRT enables you to push into the female range you lose from puberty. it's hard for me to explain. I seem to be more in tune with my body than a lot of people
I take god tier AA's that like 99% tranners don't take/know about
I am wondering also if I never had full masculization of my voice box, I don't really have an adam's apple just a pea sized bump
>>
>>10102362
I still had a deep voice pre-transition but maybe I hadn't quite lost my potential yet, my voice only changed 3 years before HRT. I started at 19 but I was a late bloomer
>>
>>10102362

What's that "god tier" AA? If I may know?
>>
>>10102362
it could be that you are more sensitive than the vast majority. what AAs are you on? also how was your old voice? it could be that you naturally had a more female voice box or better control of it, you did mention you were a singer, iirc.
i will agree that i also feel my voice change a little when im out of hormones, but thats mainly, at least in my case, because i feel mentally worse and that is reflected in the voice.

i know its kind of out of the topic of what we are talking about, but i went in for voice surgery since i wasnt happy with mine. do you think you could tell me what you think of it for now?
>>
>>10102401
>>10102394
buserelin acetate, not approved in the states and never will be but you can actually buy it in pure powder form from a chemical supply place, apparently, but I would research isotopes or whatever if you ever considered it (I don't know shit about chemistry kek)
I do possibly have intersex condition, I have natural cis female progesterone levels but I don't think that affects voice as much. ALSO I used to sing like bass/tenor level soooo :s can't have affected me much. I also have some...things different about my benis. I've never been tested though because my endo is IC and in my country being intersex makes IC not allowed so he recommended I don't get tested because I probably am.
That being said I had a very male voice so idkk???

I might just be a freak, my body seems to react to everything really strongly, i.e. fast weight gain/loss, changes during HRT that shouldn't have happened or as fast

I still think everyone can achieve what I did voicewise, with a lot of work, because it wasn't easy for me either. but my voice was one of my biggest dysphoria triggers so I reached a point where I either fixed it, never talked again or anhero'd
>>
>>10102493
ahh i know of that one, i wish i could get on that... all i got is cypro
if your endo recommends against it for your sake, there might be something to it id expect

for me, i physically couldnt train my voice anymore, like, i cant really put it in short other than i was physically at my limit... even the tests i had done in korea petty much supported it, so i pretty much had to get the surgery.
this is from right after the vocal rest period if you care to comment.

hey that's pretty good, need to push your resonance up a tiny bit and become more flexible with your pitch. do you have much range above that? being less monotone is something I still work on to this day. it's a key part of the female voice imo
went back and listened to my recording as well, I already sound better since that cause I quit smoking the day before . I've probably gained some pernanent raspiness though from my lifestyle (smoked meth for 2 years, cigarettes for 10, work with toxic chemicals)

yea ive been working on the resonance for a bit and its improving slowly.
the monotony is really annoying since its really common in my language to be monotone... so its kind of ingrained in me

>do you have much range above that?
before surgery i could easily hit 300+ Hz but right now im still relearning to use my vocal folds but i should gain the range back pretty fast once i get back in gear in 1-2 months!
also thank you for the comment, im also really happy with the immediate outcome and cant wait to see how far i can take it!
>>
>>10102755
if you hit 300 Hz why did you get VFS??
my normal speaking voice top range isn't much higher than 300? I can go higher singing or whatever but that should be good?
what language btw?
>>
>>10104368
yea when singing i can go there and above, but it didnt sound good at all past 250.. my normal voice was around 175-185, but it sounded strained and i disliked how there are some subconscious things i couldnt seem to get control over.
my main problems was the strain, incomplete closure, and i think he called it hyperfunction that was caused by a lot of overcompensation to get to my speaking voice. i was also told that i used 7 times the normal effort to speak, which really confirmed what i was expecting. now, right after the surgery, the worst my voice sounds like, is a slightly higher and much more natural version of my old trained voice, so it has already improved a lot. only after 2-3 days of talking im averaging 195 and its bound to get better as i retrain and regain control over the vocal cords over the next 2 months.

oh, and the language is danish. theres a scandinavian joke that goes "danes talk like they have a potato in their throat"

Female with hint of male. Can't clock foreign dialects, maybe women just sound like that there. Ask friends in your country.

I don't think I really sound female, just like a guy who has very little bass to the voice? mtf

This is hon science.
t. Doesn't voice train and sounds exactly the same after 2 years HRT

>hint of male
:(
people here tell me it's a passing voice. I'm often a bit husky, maybe thats why

Pic related from last post wasn’t directed at anyone, I just saw the potato pile and thought it was an appropriate addition to the thread...I might actually get pic related from last post tattooed on me somewhere, being that I am quite hideous....anywhoooo, have a great day anon :)

very andro, feminine leaning. Needs a bit of work and less head-voice in my opinion
>>
>>10107287
thanks, its good to know im on the right track.
its already improved a bit since i posted it, but mostly in terms of pitch
>>
>>10107317
You're gonna make it :)
I'm happy for you. I remember how good it felt when my voice finally went past a certain stage
>>
>>10107338
yea im really optimistic, so was the surgeon too, and i cant wait to start training it properly again in about a month!
its really nice when you can hear the change yourself, so i know what you mean :)

hrt ENABLES you to have a female voice, you still have to work for it
>>
>>10107414
theres nothing inherent that enables it, anyone can train it
>>
>>10107434
estrogen softens your voice
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10498059
>hrt in menopausal women partially reverses vocal damage and fatigues cause by menopause
it's also caused by congestion around the vocal folds which is what I think hrt affects the most immediately and is where raspiness comes from
>>
>>10107491
while it is a scientific article, its unfortunately not directly applicable here since they conducted the research on ciswomen
>>
>>10107555
well the trips have it
but based on my own personal experience on successfully transitioning my voice HRT does ENABLE you to have a female voice with a little work
you said it yourself, you never put a minute of effort into your voice, so I don't really know what knowledge you'd have on this subject
I'm not going to bother arguing anymore with a bitter NPT

from Transgender Voice Therapy by MJ Boucher, J Vyce, M Angelou
>Intake of the female hormone estrogen does not produce any discernable effects upon the vocal folds (Money & Walker, 1977, Perry, Cheesman & Pring, 2000)

also, i spend 2 years training on my own, the last one was on hrt

>>10107414
>one of the best voices
I'm not even the anon you're arguing with but you sound very arrogant from your posts alone and your voice isn't really that great. My voice is better than your voice
