>I'm smart.
>>24877828I think you should've switched to electronic format at some point.
>>24877828I will never annotate. I will never highlight. I will never write in a book. I will never take notes.
>>24877828Smartphone/tablet/e-readers are much better for that kind of stuff.
>>24877828Doing this is fine. Taking a picture of it is gay.
>>24877852No kidding. At most I put a little star in the margin to say "this is really important" or write a small 1-2 sentence comment there. Sometimes I put page numbers for crucial scenes on the inside cover page.
>>24877930>At most I put a little star in the margin to say "this is really important"holy brainlet
>>24877936Makes flipping through and seeing where those things are a little easier, but you might be right, it might not do all that much. I didn't put a lot of thought into the process.
Highlighting should only be for quickly referencing things. The writing on a seperate paper or journal helps remember stuff
lol I love when I get a used book and it’s “what fucking retard marked this thing up so bad?” and it always stops within 30 pages because the retard never finished the book. Many, many such cases in my experience. I’ve concluded from this that only illiterate retards mark up their books.
>>24878689>and it always stops within 30 pages because the retard never finished the bookLol, I have a Karl Popper book like this, although admittedly I dropped it too because the plot was going nowhere and all the little poems he put in it made no sense
>>24877828Nigga I just keep that in my mind.
>>24877828yes! this! ***** absolutely! wow!
>>24877936that is similar to what actual academics do and recommend to their students
Me, personally, it's dogearing
>>24878689>>24878752They didn't finish it because they were never going to read it in its entirety. They were assigned so many pages to read and when that was over with they had no further use for it. Very common find in any second hand bookshop near a uni campus.
>>24877828That looks like my aunts Bible.
>>24877828I forever reviled this, and still do as a purchaser of used books, but you have to admit it helps with comprehension, recalling thoughts for reviews or instances of literary socialization
I will dog ear a page here and there but even then I feel a bit guilty like I’m damaging the book
>>24878823No it isn't moron
>>24877828>women
>>24877828
>>24879774>>24877936>I use a little star>Holy brainlet(unrelated ad hominem meant)You're a fucking idiotic bot, shut the fuck up. God 4chan really is nothing but bots now.
>>24877828This handwriting pisses me off
>>24877930Wait..im stealing the cover page thing. >>24878336True. Kant's marginal notes go hard though. (picrel)>>24878850Tragic but true>>24879001I used to be like that in the past, but i think its enjoyable to jolt things in books.
>>24877828I feel like this destroys the book. All the colors and notes would make it impossible to reread or for a newcomer to read it at all. I see this at used bookstores sometimes and I immediately put the book back on the shelf. It feels like vandalism
