I approve of tildes in my subs.
>>
I see they're putting that manga artist to good use. A good throwback to the Soda days.
>>
Between Balance and Naga this season will have background antics to rival Gobusters.
>>
Reminder that Balance is the best Kyuranger.
>>
I'm a garu-fag and pretty much fine with Kyurangers, but I think this episode is bad. Their emphasis on Lucky's positivism is really not much emphasized and the justification of him being a leader is hogwash.

Oh well, next ep looks fun though!
>>
>>15336652

I think they're acknowledging early on within the show that Lucky is kind of annoying and it's nice to see them try to address it and strike a balance between memelord and effective leader. It'll be fine.
>>
Is Mr. Pega the new Tatsulot?
>>
>>15336631
aw man is Hammy going to die a tragic death because she doesn't believe in the YOSSHA LUCKY?
>>
>>15336656
Only they didn't strike the balance and basically Hammy got converted to the Church of Lucky despite having legit concerns
>>
Weakest episode overall. Naga and Balance's body pillow were the only good parts, next to the MOTW humming along with the dance fight at the end.

I hope next week is good with it being a Balance focus ep, cause I'm finding it difficult to care about the majority of characters in this show.
>>
MISS ME YET?
>>
>>15336672
No, you're the reason Lucky exists to begin with!
>>
>>15336666

I mean, if you don't see what lucky did in that ep as a good leader quality then I don't know what to say to you.

That said it was more like following the church of Dragon Dumpling since they would have stayed all angry without him bringing people together.

>I mean, if you don't see what lucky did in that ep as a good leader quality
Nothing? He ignored non-Lucky plebs and bonded with the other worst character (le funny old Pegasus man) while they tried to have character development of some kind.

I mean... It doesn't matter how hard he believes in himself, he still lucked into things. What if Kyutama weren't some kind of cosmic force the writers could pull out of their ass. He'd be dead in ep1 because he's a dumbfuck who doesn't realize the danger.

Unless he KNOWS things are gonna happen his way in which case I wanna know how and why.

>Q1 powerups count as not filler

I too remember Car Carrier Ressha and how it stayed with us through the rest of the show.
>>
>>15336652
It might've been a little easier to swallow for me if it was less about "positive thinking" and more perseverance and hard work.

Hammy was being a nob thinking that just trying hard makes you leader material. If Xiao's point had been that despite his good fortune, Lucky didn't give up and struggled with Pega for hours and hours, even after everyone else had long given up, people might be less upset with this episode. All they would've needed to change would be showing Lucky struggle, even a tiny bit. Show him wince in pain instead of dancing effortlessly with that vacant grin.

I'm not saying an iron will is all a suitable leader needs, but it would've gone a long way to making me hate Lucky less.

I don't think you could have picked something worse as an example.
>>
>>15336692

He doesn't have to be a tactical genius, very few reds are like that. His optimism is inspiring. The show can fail to sell you on that but that's their intention at least.

>>15336695
Yeah this would have made more sense and actually wouldn't give me as much as of an annoyance.

I guess they copped it out with "heh we don't need a leader anyway" but still.

>>15336703
despite what people said in /ssg/ he's actually not a total Lucky dicksucker here, which is actually a step up from his first appearance
>>
>>15336703
He's really not but the furfags are upset he's not just Lucky's lapdog in this episode.
>>
>>15336694
Car Ressha was used frequently though.

And again, I'm more focused on the plot and stuff hence why I listed it late, also Pegasus doesn't strike me as merely a Q1 toy since he's a component.

>>15336712
>tfw furfag but want a competently characterized Garu
>>
>>15336707

My original point was >>15336656 which is that they're trying. I'm not on some Lucky defense force, I'm not crazy about him either.
>>
>>15336692
>Unless he KNOWS things are gonna happen his way in which case I wanna know how and why.

Wouldn't that actually require Lucky to have some kind of backstory?
>>
>>15336720

Be careful what you wish for, King eventually got a backstory and he ended up being earth-jesus
>>
>>15336695
>>15336711
It would've been cool if Xiao had said something like:

"Even when things don't go his way, he never gives in to despair. We don't all have the universe smiling down on us, but if we give it everything we've got, sometimes we can make our own luck."

I think most Garufags like us want a good character with less lapdog stuff. Awkward doggo is best doggo.

Except for moments like where he stepped next to Lucky, that was cute.
>>
>>15336744
but like I said, he wasn't as a dicksucker in this ep despite what was thought of, I guess we really needed subs for that

basically my problem was more on how they treated Lucky and the justification in general
>>
I will be severely disappointed if this doesn't happen
>>

>>
>>15336722
Well yeah, if it'd be like that then I would prefer they not bother at all.

And to be fair, I don't think a backstory is strictly necessary for Super Sentai characters.
>>
>>15336756
Not in the actual episode first of all. If your show needs to rely on 5 minute webisodes for critical characterization, that's a whole other huge problem.

This scene is taking place shortly after everybody leaves when we could still see he was clearly struggling to control Pega. Even then, only Xiao sees him.

The point is that Hammy should be seeing him continue to struggle. She's the one who most opposes Lucky and is supposed to be filling in for the audience with her complaints.

Lots of people in these threads. People are sick of Lucky Style Reds. We suddenly have a big cast and he's managed to make EVERY episode about him. People miss when the Red only got a SMALL amount more focus than the others. I'm watching through Gingaman and it's fucking insane how when it's not a Red Focus episode, it's actually not a Red Focus episode. Meanwhile this is was meant to be a Hammy Focus episode and the entire episode is centered around how Hammy feels about Lucky and how Lucky gets a special unique power up and how Lucky somehow "works" for his luck.
>>

Well that's why I say prototype. There were genki Reds before him but he was the first you could describe in one word as "loud".

I liked that the lesson wasn't how great Lucky was but that there's a reason for it. Also how they are consistent with the emotions Naga has and how they used Stinger to advance the main plot in an episode that seemed it wasn't, given it was not only a focus episode but also to promote a campaign upgrade.

That said, the show still has a problem with the action scenes which never really satisfy. I mean, yes, the dancing was nice but there wasn't much individual action after that. Also, its weird how the focus isn't necesarilly the field team. Spada and Balance were kinda there while Raptor and Naga had a few character building scenes and Stinger an entire scene for him. Its not bad though, its weird. And they really have to stop making Garu all about sucking Lucky's dick.

Just got around to watching the episode and honestly I don't think the Lucky dicksucking was as bad as y'all are making it out to be.

The big problem I had with the episode is that it's shared with the introduction of a new toy. They want to dedicate the episode towards Hammy's doubts but they're burdened with having to introduce Pega into the fold as well.

In the end, neither are as fleshed out in this episode as they could have been. It also doesn't help the the prop was already falling apart at the end either.

Cute episode. I didn't expect the Pegasus crest to talk at all so that's a surprise.
I like how Lucky said he didn't want to be the leader and that the Kyurangers don't need one anyway. Lots of good shots at Lucky's luck and how it's annoying some of the team deep down who've worked very hard to become a strong warrior.

It is. As seen on the scene. How do you think lucky was taking the chance shou talked about? Hint: audiovisual media is meant to be consumed by things other than dialog.

>it's essentially what the shitposters said about "OH LUCKY IS MORE POSITIVE THAN YOU".
Positive thinking is part of it. Not all.

>It's less about taking chances too.
Do you at least bother to read the dialogue?
>>
>>15341089
Taking chances != missing out on a breakthrough. Basically Xiao is telling them that sometimes actions can end up inspiring or giving things. That's not "taking chances" since he did say they had a right choice.

Also that's not hard work. Lucky believes training with Pega-san will lead to something so he did it. It's less about hard work and more on believing that this will be a fruitful labor, which goes with the positive attitude thing.
>>
I thought the moral of the story when Xiao showed Lucky practicing was "Yes, Lucky does have the best luck but he works hard anyway" or "he doesn't just rely on luck, it takes effort and dedication"

But "THERE'S POTENTIAL THO" is good too (not really)

That's literally what taking chances means. Lucky saw it could happen a way and decide to work through it. He took a chance. Was it the only way to beat the motw? Arguable, but its beyond the point and hammy and gary didnt propose an alternative.

>Also that's not hard work. Lucky believes training with Pega-san will lead to something so he did it.
Yes , usually when you work hard its because you have a goal, even if vague. Usually said goal is related to what you're doing. If I practice my drawing skills its because I want to draw better.

>It's less about hard work and more on believing that this will be a fruitful labor, which goes with the positive attitude thing.
If it didnt require any hard work then why didnt lucky just go to the fight with zero practice?
>>
>>15341109
Its that and positive thinking.
>>
>>15341116
hard work doesn't mean you have a goal, hard work just means you always do your thing at 100% regardless of whether you gain something from it or not, that's the very concept of industriousness

and I disagree that it's the same thing in that breakthroughs imply that something surprising happens or something leads to an idea, taking chances means you already have options handed to you and you pick one and hope for the best

lucky trained because he knew it would be useful and an outcome will be met, not because he's a hardworker
>>
>>15341125
>hard work doesn't mean you have a goal, hard work just means you always do your thing at 100% regardless of whether you gain something from it or not, that's the very concept of industriousness
And what is this "thing"? Why are you doing this "thing"?

>taking chances means you already have options handed to you and you pick one and hope for the best
You mean like lucky did in the episode and shou explained?

>lucky trained because he knew it would be useful and an outcome will be met, not because he's a hardworker
Yeah, he must be pretty lazy for not randomly wanting to practice dancing.
>>
>>15341138
you're confusing things

a hardworker will clean the dishes with no setbacks and make sure every silverware has no smudge, even if you don't get say, an increase in allowance

and Lucky already knew what was going for him, there was a breakthrough though that everyone joined in

you confuse laziness to something like this, if lucky knew there'd be an easier way he'd probably do that unless his character is about industriousness
>>
>>15341152
>you're confusing things
Not really, I just know what working hard means and/or actually watched the episode.

>a hardworker will clean the dishes with no setbacks and make sure every silverware has no smudge, even if you don't get say, an increase in allowance
So people who do that on a restaurant arent hard workers?

>and Lucky already knew what was going for him, there was a breakthrough though that everyone joined in
Lucky felt it was the way so trained to achieve in combat. If he relied only on his luck, he wouldnt be practicing.

>you confuse laziness to something like this, if lucky knew there'd be an easier way he'd probably do that unless his character is about industriousness
That'd just mean he's pragmatic, not lazy. The point was to beat the monster, the method was dance training. The others didn't see it but he thought positively and decided to go with it and worked hard to sync with pegasus.
>>
>>15341172
>So people who do that on a restaurant arent hard workers?

depends on where, we have chefs that love their craft and service people only doing things because they are paid small with little incentive to do their work hence why you hear horror stories in fast food joints

>Lucky felt it was the way so trained to achieve in combat. If he relied only on his luck, he wouldnt be practicing.

because his luck was already there - that he had pega-san on him

>That'd just mean he's pragmatic, not lazy. The point was to beat the monster, the method was dance training. The others didn't see it but he thought positively and decided to go with it and worked hard to sync with pegasus.

exactly, so that doesn't mean he's doing a hard work here, it just happens that to reach his goal here he needs to practice

in essence, a hard worker would justify training with finding something fulfilling in training regardless of the outcome
>>
>>15341200
>depends on where, we have chefs that love their craft and service people only doing things because they are paid small with little incentive to do their work hence why you hear horror stories in fast food joints
Way to dodge the question.

>because his luck was already there - that he had pega-san on him
So its clear now, you didnt watch the episode. He had pegasan on the first fight. When you get around to watching the episode you'll see how that goes.

>exactly, so that doesn't mean he's doing a hard work here, it just happens that to reach his goal here he needs to practice
Sure, he wasnt doing anything, its not like he was practicing or anything, to the point not only hammy and garu but the ther kyurangers were also exhausted or gave up. He had a goal so that doesnt amount to anything. If only he did just give his best on random things, then he'd be a hard worker.

>in essence, a hard worker would justify training with finding something fulfilling in training regardless of the outcome
>justify training
>finding something fulfilling
So, like, having, like, a goal you mean?
>>
>>15341223
>Way to dodge the question.

it may surprise you but not everyone has the same mindset in an occupation.

>So its clear now, you didnt watch the episode. He had pegasan on the first fight. When you get around to watching the episode you'll see how that goes.

you're literally going "you didn't watch nuhuh" are you

it is luck that he was the one who got the pegasus kyutama, since for some odd reason he's the only one who used the buckle

>Sure---

So I guess a person who is always known for slacking but has to study because he would repeat is now a "hardworker" because he studied right?

>So, like, having, like, a goal you mean?

I seriously hope you're not being a dunce here.

Do you not know the fact that there are people satisfied with giving it all in everything they do? Having a goal isn't part of their equation at all. If you're gonna be a bitch, you could say "doing their best" is their goal.
>>
>>15337401
I dunno that kinda bugged me since I mean if you're saying in universe that a character's worst trait is that they're too perfect then I mean, you can't really get more mary sue than that.
>>
>>15341234
>it may surprise you but not everyone has the same mindset in an occupation.
Which isnt what I asked for or what i'm contesting.I asked whether the actions you described as hard work magically stop being hard work in a different context.

>you're literally going "you didn't watch nuhuh" are you
You're outright ignoring facts presented in the episode so yeah.

>it is luck that he was the one who got the pegasus kyutama, since for some odd reason he's the only one who used the buckle
Not what we're arguing.

>So I guess a person who is always known for slacking but has to study because he would repeat is now a "hardworker" because he studied right?
He worked hard to not repeat. That's undenyable. That might not nean he's a hard worker at normal but that's another thing. The way its presented in this episode is as if lucky always does it. Regardless you'r saying lucky didnt do so in the episode itself so this analogy is pointless.

>Having a goal isn't part of their equation at all.
It us, being satisfied. You said so.
> If you're gonna be a bitch, you could say "doing their best" is their goal.
So a goal?
>>
>>15341235
It pretty much meant "you don't need anyone to ever help you - that's not what a team is. Learn to trust them."
>>
>>15341277
>Which isnt what I asked for or what i'm contesting.

Industriousness is a personal trait that isn't something you turn on or off.

>Not what we're arguing.

you asked when the luck came in

>He worked hard to not repeat. That's undenyable. That might not nean he's a hard worker at normal but that's another thing. The way its presented in this episode is as if lucky always does it. Regardless you'r saying lucky didnt do so in the episode itself so this analogy is pointless.

Because there's something to gain. My point isn't because Lucky didn't try or not for this ep, my point is that this isn't about working hard.

>So a goal?

Which is very "non-goal". Doing it for the heck of it or because that's right.
>>
>>15341401
>Industriousness is a personal trait that isn't something you turn on or off.
So its still hard work despite having a goal? Good.

>you asked when the luck came in
And you brought up a scene that's bith unrelated and had bad results.

>Because there's something to gain.
Yes, and?
>My point isn't because Lucky didn't try or not for this ep, my point is that this isn't about working hard.
And you keep shifting your definition of working hard just to say he doesnt. At this point you might define "work hard" as "whatever lucky doesnt do". Retarded but consistent.

>Which is very "non-goal".
Oh, so you also define what goal means.
>Doing it for the heck of it or because that's right.
>doing it for
Not really helping your point here.
>>
>>15341443
>So its still hard work despite having a goal? Good.

No, it means there are people who work hard for money and people who work hard for the heck of it.

>And you brought up a scene that's bith unrelated and had bad results.

Yeah "bad results" that resulted in defeating the machine this week.

>And you keep shifting your definition of working hard just to say he doesnt. At this point you might define "work hard" as "whatever lucky doesnt do". Retarded but consistent.

I'm not the one who keeps bringing about working hard when the episode wasn't about that though. You're the one making this mental gymnastics that I should follow.

>Not really helping your point here.
Don't be dense anon, you know what I mean by a "non-goal". For the heck of it isn't a goal at any stretch, no matter the wording.
>>
>>15341468
also I reckon people wouldn't be even bringing up the hardworking part without that "say the change" video
>>
>>15341468
>No, it means there are people who work hard for money and people who work hard for the heck of it.
>for

>Yeah "bad results" that resulted in defeating the machine this week.
After working tod defeat it as clearly shown on the episode. I really hope you actually didnt watch it at this point.

>I'm not the one who keeps bringing about working hard when the episode wasn't about that though.
It was, as proven.

>You're the one making this mental gymnastics that I should follow.
>lucky doesnt work hard because he does it for something
>he's not like these other people who also do it for something but really dont because I can change my arbitrary definitions on the fly

>Don't be dense anon, you know what I mean by a "non-goal". For the heck of it isn't a goal at any stretch, no matter the wording.
It is, its the reason you do shit. You do shit for a reason. Not randomly. I'm not being dense and in fact this all started because you were being dense(or that's what I assumed before It became plausible you didnt watch the episode).

This went on for too long and you're either shitpoting or didnt actually watch the episode. So I wont even bother going any further.
>>
>>15341524
>It is, its the reason you do shit.
You're just saying it because you want to make it goal oriented even though when you actually talk about goals people will laugh at you for saying "I just want to do it".

>After working tod defeat it as clearly shown on the episode.

You do realize luck doesn't magically stop right? That's my point. If I randomly found a random watch which doesn't do anything, but found out it costs two million dollars after reading the papers the next day, it doesn't negate that I found it luckily.

>he's not like these other people who also do it for something but really dont because I can change my arbitrary definitions on the fly

Except the others clearly didn't do the dancing because they found it futile.

Your list is missing Xiao and the ED.

And GALAXY

So far I'm enjoying the villain set up and most of the episode's action.

Don't like Lucky, but he also doesn't bother me. If it falls into some long sequence of nothing happening and they don't improve the main cast I could drop it, but so far it's pretty enjoyable.
