Imperium mech, espescially dreadnought and knight warden, are good for carrying moar dakka

Tau mech is for lazorfest and sneaky breaky type

Chaos mech are like the Imperium one, except... it's chaotic (yes, pun intended)

Orks mech mostly intended for close quarter combat

I'll say just this; Tau walkers bigger than the Broadside should have been made with MA characteristics instead of simply being bigger bipeds.
>>
>>16166760
what'a a MA ?
>>
>>16166764
Mobile Armor?

More extremely large Hammerhead than normal Tau walker.
Walking is either multi-legged and minimal, or nonexistent apart from landing gear, primarily moves around with a shitload of antigravity/thrusters combined.

I dunno. The XV104, KV128, and KV139 look nice and all, but at those sizes it's starting to not resemble Tau aesthetics anymore. Given that the Manta is seen as a Tau answer to the typical Titan, the Tau seemed likelier to slap a railgun battery and a boatload of turrets on a floating tank chassis to make an intermediate-sized platform instead of simply making bigger walkers.

>>
>>16168578
its a wee bit complicated, mazinger´s crown needs some space for the pilder and such, knights have the cockpit in the back hunch with a hatch on top, and the head as you can see is in some sort of telescoping cowl, then theres the whole chest fins and rocket punches that have little place to go, a better fit is some battletech desings like atlas, even MadCats rather than a nagai super

I think that titan's lower legs/feet are fucking terrific looking.

It's a neat way for it to articulate.

Also the OG box on stubby legs dreadnought is fucking fantastic, in spite of the fact that it would never be able to walk IRL unless it had some rather ridiculous level of gyrostabilization.

Frankly the tau's tanks and drones were always cooler than their suits.

The problem with "smelly dumb traitor scum" is that once the traitor worship is accepted by the 4 gods, the chainsword probably sprouts a tentacle that can shear normal Knights in half in a single vertical blow, the rusted joints spit acid and dust that corrupt the ground when it settles, the leakages are flesh-melting, worship-denying poisons that turn aerosol in normal temperatures, and the "exhausted ammunition" becomes a front for an anti-vehicle daemon energy bolt launcher.

I don't like this concept for the Castigator. The Castigator was supposed to make the Imperial titans look like derpy wannabes. This thing was built by people who had science inconceivable to the Imperium and the Mechanicum, and was actually a super futuristic giant robot that was more like an anthropomorphic Bolo than a giant gothic shitpile of an ambulatory cathedral. It had an intelligent AI and self repair systems, and would have made the Emperor look unambitious and mild mannered had the Grey Knights not figured out how to blow it up.

The Emprah is pretty heavily implied to be Jesus Christ. In Graham McNeill's short story "The Last Church" (one of my favorite 40k stories), the Emperor meets up with a priest of the last church on Earth (hence the title) and tries to get the priest to give up religion and take up Imperial secularism. In the process of trying to convince him, Emps mentioned being the one who inspired the Christian religion originally.

How do the operators of the marine armor fit inside the suit?
>>
>>16184728
its supposed to be built around them , like the animation for starcraft marine.
some lore says that they wear it for the rest of their lives , some lore has marines able to switch armors for the proper situation ( vets wearing the terminator crux on their astartes suit ) and given that it is a technological dark age , both interpretations are feasible

>>
>>16184899

>>16184728
You have to keep in mind that Astartes are roughly the same size of the suit. They wear it as a knight would wear armor albeit infinity more complex. It's put on generally the same way as well. It's not like the Starcraft marine animation. To simplify things we will keep it Pre Hersey. Once a battle is done the armor will be removed. I don't know about any lore about them keeping it on all the time. I vaguely remember in one of the Heresy novels that a suit is in prime condition expected to be self sufficient for a month or so but that could be wrong.

It's one of those where the only real answer is maybe. When introduced in Rogue Trader, a 'Dread was a piloted robot akin to something like a Scopedog, so back then the answer was no. However, everything since Rogue Trader has a 'Dread pilot wired into the 'Dread for both control and health support, which would make the answer yes. The thing is, there is nothing in canon I'm aware of that decrees only cripples are allowed to be 'Dread jockeys. It's just that they're both so hard to make and find in the 42nd millenium that they just give it to those whom are so bad-ass that letting them die would be a waste.

A big swing on that is Warcraft was originally slated as a Warhammer game. Pretty far into the project GW didn't like the product and cited it didn't look enough like Warhammer, so they dropped Blizzard. Blizzard figured they finish and launch the game as something else. GW couldn't sue, they even declared it wasn't close enough in their eyes. Starcraft fell a bit further from the tree, but still an... inspired piece.

The big problem I have with Forgeworld bringing titans to the tabletop is that their scale feels way out of whack from how they're described. In various sources, a Warlord is big enough for the head to contain a ship's bridge, but the model version has a tight-fitting cockpit for three.

But then again, vehicle scale compared to infantry on the tabletop has always been abysmal.

given how fucking mechanical servitors and techpriest are , where do you put the barrier in man and machine?
and stop beign so anal on the process, the important thing is that is nor something like pullin up a zipper and you are done , the armor has some assembly required

What weapon is that? I don't think I've seen an Imperial Knight carrying a gun like that, I thought all their weapons were hardpoints.

The proportions aren't that bad. It's just that the armor's size causes the marines to look like it is disproportionate.
