Basically a mix of Verhoeven's Starship Troopers and Pacific Rim with powersuits like the ones from Vanquish or Crysis. Powersuits would be the main weapon and the giant robots would be far less used, but truly awesome in when they are on the scene. The main plot would be humanity uniting against an alien threat.

Honestly, something like Giant Robo or Sakura Taisen. I'm bored of shit set in the future that tries to take itself seriously or presents itself with any form of realism.

>Oh shit look at all this tacticool stuff we got and humanity is fighting each other cause war is an essential part of our society that we will never evolve from AAAAAAAAAAHHH

Yeah, fuck that shit.

Give me some demons, some martial artists, roll that in with some alternate history, and set it somewhere weird like Japanese controlled Manchuria.

I think my perfect show would be a multi-generational story more akin to the Foundation stories than Gundam AGE, where you have a long initial generation that follows some rebels bucking a distant hegemony for the right to rule themselves as they see fit with the long episode count allowing you to really get to know the cast and invest in their struggle. I'd then like to see this followed by a lot of shorter generational hops that cover a few hundred years as the cast changes from hopeful rebels fighting a physical war for freedom over a distinct area through more political and economic stresses as the nation the initial cast founded grows and expands, eventually taking over the lands of the enemy they initially fought but able to better control that large empire because of advances in communication and transportation technology and slowly morphing in to the exact same large and impersonal empire that the first generation fought to free themselves from the grip of. Then have a final generation that's equally long and bookends the show by having a new cast of small rebels try to free just a small area (a planet or two for instance) from this huge empire and establish their own nation.

Something a bit like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, capturing the cyclical nature of history; that empires fall and splinter, but one or two of the splinters eventually become empires themselves and oppress people just like their founders tried to fight against.

I want a show focused on the very early stages of giant robot development during wartime. Like, before they even have a working frame early. Give me regular infantry battles versus bug aliens, but then also there's this hot blooded super soldier taking a giant robot arm out to test it mid battle. And then the finale is when the robot is finally assembled, and it turns out it was actually a Brave-esque samurai robot all along and proceeds to immediately steamroll the rest of the war effort where the tacticool grunt soldiers had to give it their all just to survive.

Over the course of the war, Char, still leading the AEUG, is forced to take more and more extreme action to defeat haman, causing a rift with the AEUG.

I'd like a show that mixes the fun and goofiness of vintage super robot shows with a "realistic" (i. e. verisimilie) hard sci-fi approach - the latter almost always is done as a trite war setting that is really tiresome by now, so I'm all in for nonviolent settings.

I want to see engineers and glorified forklift drivers having fun with the fact that their universe has skyscraper-sized toys, goddamnit. Hell if I know how that might be done, though - maybe some kind of mecha equivalent of the space race? Giant ROBO-ONE tournaments? Eagle Prime vs Kuratas, but good?

Pic related and Patlabor are the closest things I've found. Robotics;Notes has a nice engineer-ish approach for the main mecha, but I didn't care at all for the other stuff.

A girl who posts on 4chan's /m/ board suddenly encounters a strange person outside her apartment one day. The person tells her he is an alien, and he is on earth to escape the brutal Nogwenn aliens that hunted his species to extinction, except for him. He tells her he is dying, and gives her an alien device that allows her to create any mechanical device she can imagine, no matter how intricate. He tells her to create something to defend earth, because the Nogwenn are about to arrive looking for him. Suddenly explosions happen everywhere, as Nogwenn battle armor appear and lay waste to everything. The girl thinks of /m/ and how much she loves mecha, and uses the device the dying alien gave her to create a huge mecha, which she names M, after the 4chan board that inspired her to create it. She creates a pilot suit that telekinetically reflects her actions in the mecha, and gets in the cockpit of M, to battle the Nogwenn battle armors that have surrounded her and the dying alien.

I like mecha series like the original Gundam or Dragonar that have two clear factions with very clear different aesthetics and motivations. Something about the Hegelian dialectic or some shit, but I love considering two sides whose conflict are a result of in-universe consequences. Half the reason I enjoy WoW or even Fallout New Vegas is the faction dynamics, how they play off one another in a desire to fulfill their ambitions.

With that all being said Earth Oppressors and Space Autocrats have gotten stale, so some kind new setting idea with a fresh way to handle total war between two superpowers would be nice. Like a lot of people here I've taken a stab at writing a mecha series and the best I got was a proxy war between two planets fought in shadows by two Q-like multidimensional aliens over the fate of mankind. The aliens would present themselves as gods and take champions who would be given newtype like powers and fought a war that is partially inspired by these new "gods" but mostly inspired by historical animosity.

>super robot where SUPERSCIENCE GIANT ROBOT vs FLEET is a conspiracy to keep population in the dark, and someday one of super-robot pilot learn the truth and have to flee, made as an heroes journey

>space-opera with psychic piloting spaceship in alternate-space, story is summed up by "from peasant to Karan S'jet".

>post-apocalyptic pre-apocalyptic story about a inhabitant of a deserted Earth trying to join the colony ship which will leave the solar system, an episodic traveler story

>Sexy conspiracy: in a HARD-SF world a military detective try to figure out why female clothing are becoming more and more sexy for stranger reason

>Reverse-AVATAR: an alien land in the Far-west, meet with Native-american and decide to uplift them to stand against the cowboys

>An heroine wearing exoskeleton (bubblegum crysis) appear in town, she is nicknamed "Girlyghost" because of her stealth. She believe to be working for a secret group for social justice and fleeing the police, the truth the mastermind is the Police chief who is mostly bored

>2 gifted super-scientist are warring with giant robot for their respective nation, their aides decide to trick them into sending themselves on the moon to stop the war. But the nation keep warring each other in a way more bloody way, the 2 scientist have to work with each other to get back and stop the war

A unique world like E7,G-reco or TurnA.
A length anywhere from 25-52 eps
A light optimistic that appeals or is directed to kids/younger generations but aalsolso explores darker themes and gives adults something to enjoy as well.

I've been toying around with an idea for a Dai-Guard/Bebop style series.

The setting would a relatively hard sci-fi space opera universe. Humanity has multiple colonies outside the solar system, but no aliens have been discovered yet. Most space warfare is done with Babylon 5 style fighters and other assault and capital ships, while ground forces use powered armored infantry and BOLO tanks.

Enter the first MC who's a tomboy mechanic trying to make it as a freelancer. Her business is just barely paying the bills until she receives a mysterious shipment from her estranged father/grandpa/uncle. It's a giant fucking robot. Apparently it was a prototype from one of his projects that got shut down because it would be to expensive to mass produce along with a whole host of other minor mechanical issues that will become apparent as the series goes on.

After realizing she can barely pilot the thing she hires a ex-space pirate mercenary pilot it. The series would be their episodic adventures as they try to use their giant robot for various odd jobs and bounty hunting missions. It would both poke fun at the impracticality of giant robots, while also celebrating the inspirational effect they can have on people.

A world post singularity, where technology is basicaly magic - you can have whatever you want, how you want, etc. Everybody is pretty much unkillable, thou only local analog of elfs are truly immortal.
The twist here is, that series starts when rebel faction, in an act against decadence et all, shut down 'magic'. People are then locked into whatever form they've chosen prior, are stuck with whatever weapons and equipment they posses and all nifty nanotech that kept everybody healthy and fine is gone. Also, whole goods delivery system is gone. There is no food. No fuel. No nothing beyond whatever anybody already had.

For added fun we can add upper energy discharge limit, eliminating any kind of projectiles beyond siege weaponry. But that would be going fully Council wars, alas.

80s animated mecha series, but with a three act structure.
>>
Near future humanity is in a state of constant war due to discovering and making contact with Interdimensional civilizations that are basically gods compared to us and the different factions of earth foolishly barter and immediately make partnerships with these factions in return for support and technology that seems nigh magical compared to ours. The second one of the earth factions used one of this technology on another and declared war the cold war of tensions immediately went hot and nothing has ever been the same again. You either run to the safety of one of these Interdimensional alliances or you die. The Interdimensional civilizations themselves are under control by even more advanced civilizations and so on which spans a dimensional war that has been raging since forever which can roughly be corralled into two general directions of technological development that culminate in the root civilizations of humanity. One being cybernetic and essentially the pinnacle of silicon based life with a desire to escape to higher planes of reality and escape the coming end of the universe and the second being bio-tech and gene splicing based being essentially the pinnacle of carbon based life with a focus on saving the universe and trying to prevent it from ending. We don't actually know we are merely just doing their bidding though, we are merely one of many many alternate timelines and dimensions that serve as a staging ground for a seemingly endless shadowy proxy war. By slowly filtering in new weapons and technology in return for more reliance on these beings we come under their control more and more and soon our original reasons for fighting become forgotten and the war takes on a bizarre almost religious tone of worship towards our higher beings.

The more bio-tech focused faction has focus on body modification gene-splicing bio-suits biological weapons and that sort of thing. The cybernetic one having focus on cybernetic modification's, advanced robots etc.
>>
>>16578687
It's a Godzilla anime that focuses on the daily bullshit that comes with living in a world full of monsters that a squad of MechaGodzilla pilots has to suffer through.
>>
>>16595844
This carries over to the general ideas and ethos of both factions too where the bio-tech fleshy faction values conservation and collectivism, a lot of the higher ups being connected by a kind of hive mind where they are able to communicate telepathically with each other and coordinate nigh flawlessly. And the cybernetic faction valuing struggle, individualism, and the yearning for freedom and by that I mean freedom in the truest most metaphysical sense, hence their desire to leave this place, even if it means destroying everything. Both actually value sacrifice. Also I should elaborate that yes all of these civs are basically just alternate timeline/dimensional humans who are approached and converted by the roots who are the furthest along in their timeline and development and actually are facing the end in their home dimensions which provided the impetus to tunnel out and reach out to others. There is other life than humanity but all the intelligent ones have long since lived and died before our creation, we are late bloomers and in obscure corners of the galaxy there are indeed wrecks and signs of what would have once been other races. We live in a mostly dead universe.

>>16597116
I'm only really decent at writing and coming up with settings and concepts, if somebody wants to take idea from me they should feel free, all I want in life is to see more things that I enjoy.

Also while I'm here I should emphasis we aren't necessarily getting even the most advanced tech possible, like our universe is just backwater compared to others and we ourselves are merely getting a lot of stuff from a neighboring one that has superior tech to ours but compared to roots its child's play, the roots are like gods where the tech has reached a point where it feels like lovecraft hand of god tier stuff. The further up the chains you go the more surreal and incomprehensible it gets to us who in this specific universe has only just become capable of interplanetary warfare before being contacted in the first place and before that who's concept of interplanetary warfare is just using big ass guns that are constructed on the planets themselves to fire projectiles into the orbit of other planets to bombard them (if they even can score a hit there is space platforms and anti air of course that can fire at the projectiles and blow them up but hey if you keep at it some are BOUND to get through eventually) and you have actual fighting ships which have to go into orbit around the planet and the defending ships have to orbit around towards the enemy and its kind of like jousting where you have a small window to fire at the ship and line up the projectile and blow them out of orbit, and there's the possibility of lining up your route on the way and firing as both parties are passing by to their destination. And you have to watch out for boarding parties in their big space suits trying to fly out and attach to your ship so they can try to board it. This relatively modest tech gets blown out the window though when everyone starts getting their hands on fucking particle cannons and fucking laser weapons and plasma and acid based weapons and all sorts of nuts shit.

>full episode about recruiting the 1000 men and women and teaching them how to deal with messianic pilot, the proper safety protocol, thinking of the budget even to save mankind
>episode about building the base, digging tunnel, preventing injury despite the save-the-earth sense of urgency
>the thought process of secondary character who hear the main cast and are trying to predict where the maelstrom of destruction will move
>the logistic of trying to keep the mech weapon and upgrade ready to launch, at any time in the right direction, batshit insane plan from engineer who will pilot the delivery rocket and eject at the last minute above the combat zone
>rescue effort to retrieve skilled technician stuck on the battlefield, mourning the dead

Galaxy is divided between Humans and another intelligent (non-humanoid) alien ace. There isn't a large scale war, but constant smaller conflicts. Combat consists of either long range relativistic weaponry, or close range inside colonies/on planets.
The show would consist of small closed stories spanning 3-5 episodes, rather then an overarching plot. Also there will be lots of atmospheric re-entry scenes cause that's my fetish.

I'd like to see more mecha where the suits themselves have AIs and personalities. They don't have to be straight-up Tachikoma, but at the very least some capacity for independent behavior could be interesting. I'd also play up a satire element; even the pilots know know mecha aren't the be-all-end-all of warfare, but defense contractors and civvies love them and you have to put on a good show. Something like Metal Gear Rising, in other words.
