Not wrong either.

It was a good experience but it wasn't a Friendship is Magic movie.

Yeah. it's pretty good.
>>
I just saw it today, and I liked it. It's just so different from the show. The audio was especially good. It sounded so different hearing it at home on my computer. Depending how long it plays for I may see it again. At first I wasn't going to go see it because I felt embarrassed
>>
>>31105020
Sadly, its going to be an economic failure.
>>
I got question I haven't seen the movie yet but I am going see it this month but did Capper \Rarity become thing or it didn't?
>>
>>31105086
Probably didn't. You'd know it otherwise.

I thought the movie was pretty great. It wasn't much like a vanilla episode, but it was good nonetheless. It kinda had a late 80s early 90s feel, I thought. Reminded me of "Cats Don't Dance"... for some reason.

Yeah, me too. It left me with an extremely deep seeded sublimity. I can't not like the movie, despite all the things I can pick apart in it.
>>
>>31105444
The few issues it had are the same issues the show proper has so I'm not going to try to nitpick it either. It was fun.

Watched it two days in a row. Going again Friday. Seriously Disney teir music. Kinda feel like the reviews were bad because big producers were scared of it.
>>
>>31104818
Good for you.
>>
>>31105444
It's like anything you love. You know it's flawed but you love it anyway because that's how it works.

Good reception or poor reception, the only think I hope for is that they might make another pony movie in the future.
>>
>>31105279
The AMC theatre that I went to didn't even have these. Fucking hell where do I have to go?
>>
>>31105532
Found them at an Odyssey theater. $2.50 a pop yesterday.
>>
>>31105532
The Carmike theater that I went to only had Twilight and Pinkie ones. So I guess even they knew that they were the only characters in the movie.
>>

or...the reviews are bad because the story is bland, generic and predictable, has tons of holes and inconsistencies

among other things

just because you're sucking Hasbro's dick doesn't mean it's a perfect movie and anyone who doesn't like it is a conspiracy
>>

>or...the reviews are bad because the story is bland, generic and predictable, has tons of holes and inconsistencies
So it's a kid's movie.

im way behind on the show but i want to see this in theatres , is it safe?

I enjoyed it too.
My theater was packed by the time the trailers were done, and the kids seemed to have loved it too. Lots of laughs, especially when the puffer Spike scene happened. Kids got out of their seats and danced during the One Small Thing number. Audible gasps when Twilight yelled at Pinkie. Lots of parents saying "That was really cute!" and "I liked the music!" when it ended.
>>
>>31105307
Wow that guy burned to death.

Fucking brutal.
>>

Actually no its projected to hit $10m over the weekend and who kbows how much more globally. Its already Lionsgate's most successful animated film by a very large margin. It likely won't be a box office smash, but it will definitely turn a profit. Hell, it probably already did.
>>
>>31106181
South America is probably gonna eat this thing up if EQG is anything to go by
>>
>>31106181
I honestly see the majority of its profits not coming until the DVD and BD hit store shelves.
>>
>>31106181
You think it'll make it's money back?
>>
>>31106301
Really, it all depends on how much money it cost to make in the first place. The cheapest animated movie to come out this year was Captain Underpants, at a budget of $38 million. If MLP was around that number or lower, it should be okay.
On the bright side, so far MLP's performing better than expected, despite opening at less theaters.

Ok, I got brought along by some people to watch it and jesus I have some questions about the lore now.
1. What the fuck
2. So friendship is her power? how does that even work?
3. Why did no one try to dodge the green bits of evil magic? I get the shield not working is a surprise but god damn at least don't fly in a straight line. Oh and lets just talk and stand still.
4. Fuck that short thing, the annoying evil minion.
5. I didn't enjoy the cat, he felt way out of place with the way he talked.
6. The pearl, why was it not used to transform the incoming army or defending army.
7. lmao fuck turning her into stone
8. Why the hell is the bad guy only on screen for like 5 minutes?
9. Does the sun revolve around the earth? I mean it must if they are not dying all the time from the rapid spinning.

Most of those aren't questions. What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

>>31108050
Not everybody can afford a high end videoprojector.
I would have loved to see the poners in 4k myself but no cinemas is in original version
>>
>>31105020
The audio was fucking incredible. It had a silly amount of low-end/bass for a kids movie, and the positional was better than expected. Watching on PC doesn't do it justice.
>>
I loved the movie.

Looking at it more analytically, I can see some issues. Tempest's arc was missing a few important parts, which is why a perfectly good song like "Open Up Your Eyes" didn't have the impact it should have had.

One thing I liked that I've seen complaints about was the Storm King. His vast unworthiness, his self-absorption and silliness, worked as a foil to Tempest.
>>
>>31105867
He was actually sent to Celestia.
>>
>>31108633
I think Tempest's facial expression fleshed out the performance of the song.

Actually, her facial expressions throughout that movie were enjoyable, coupled with the voice acting talent.

Also I think she's purdy
