Alright I finally said fuck it and actually started reading, now I'm hooked and had to download the ebook and reader so I can listen to it while working.
I was expecting it to be good, I'm such a huge fan of both mlp and fallout that even if it wasn't great I knew I'd enjoy it, but I wasn't it expecting to be THIS good.
I just got to volume 2 and I can see why it has such a huge following

If that's not a fic already, it should be.

What dlc should I get for fallout 4?
>>

ALL of them. Far Harbor is best though. You can join the Children of Atom and bask in His glow!
>>
>>31458588
Wasn't children of Atom in fallout 3 and in new Vegas aswell?
>>
>>31458603
in 3, but you couldn't join the faction. I think they were just mentioned in NV.

I've wanted to join the Church of Atom since I first walked into Megaton and heard the preacher extolling the virtues of Atom.

You can do that in Far Harbor. Dream fulfilled.
>>
>>31458616
oh and I know what im joining then in far Harbor
>>
>>31458400
For some reason I don't think the author has any clue about how sex works

besides dwelling on sexual dialogue for far too long in some paragraphs no one can have 31 orgasms in a row that's just retarded
>>
>>31458588
Seconding Far Harbor, honestly one of the best DLCs Bethesda has done. Not saying much really, but I hugely enjoyed the atmosphere and factions. First time I played it was after the survival mode update, so it was a long desperate struggle and I loved it for that.
>>
>>31458623
What author? Kkat?
She has high expectations...
>>
>>31458631
Definitely playing Far Harbor first then if you guys think its good
>>
>>31458623
That's the point, I feel. Sex in the story is just used for dumb comic relief.

I can think of worse ways to present it.
>>
>>31458796
It's really shitty comic relief and I'd rather have some actual Fallout tier dark humor than that shit.
>>
>>31458583
Get them in the order they came out. I went by cheapest first.
As a survival player, I had to abandon my first character because I responded right away to the caravan distress call at level 15 and was severely under-powered to fight the swarm of robots that spawned everywhere
>>
>>31458875
Read. Project. Horizons.

Rampage let out a long sigh. “Oh, what kind of party is this when you’re being all dramatic? I mean, duh, bo-ring!” she said as she flicked a hoofful of blood at Glory, making her jump aside and scowl at the striped mare. “You three get out of here and take the angst with you, and I’ll hang around and slaughter anypony that comes in!”

“But what about Deus?”

“Pfffft. Who’s afraid of that doofus?” she said with a snort, looking over her shoulder as she walked to the spider robot. “Now you crazy kids get going. I’m pretty sure there’s more on the way and I’m in a mood to do something… Reaperish.”

“Hello, madam. What is your chem potion of choice?” the spider robot asked as Rampage put both hooves on the bar top. Her grin definitely made my mane crawl.

“Everything,” she said with chilling eagerness.

You need some Rampage in your life!

I bought the season pass. Some of the weapons and stuff for settlements are pretty cool. Nuka World was an interesting Location. There was a lot of missed opportunity with the Mechanist DLC, like being able to play the whole thing out like the Silver Shroud.

Okay, what the hell was his plan? Just finished my second reread of PH and I'm still not 100% sure what ultimate goal this guy was plotting to. I mean, it's heavily implied if not outright stated that he was on the fast track to establishing Luna a kingdom that would last for a thousand years like her sister's but was that all there was to it? And why?
>>
>>31459278

>>
>>31459284
The way I understood it was; set up Luna a kingdom to rule for 1000 years, or, if that failed then activate Project Horizons and destroy the world. If Luna can't have it, nobody can. also the Eater may have been influencing GB. He was strangely obsessed with the star metal. Might have been subtle manipulation on the Eaters part.

The one thing that boggles me to this day about the PH lore is the Office of Interministry Affairs. Who did they serve? What were their true intentions? I know officially they were supposed to be some middleman office for the ministries to collaborate their projects with, however some bits and pieces of information and dialogue within the story seem to indicate that the OIA wasn't all that it seemed, and that it was in reality a front for Cognitium's new world order who would weather out the apocalypse in the Redoubt stable and "live like fucking gods". This apparently doesn't seem to be their initial plan since (going by the convoluted timeline of events in PH) it would only make sense for Cognitium to have risen to power after her accidental birth during Horse's Crusader showcase, which was before Horse succeeded GB as Director of the OIA, which was quite sometime after this (Luna still trusted GB) meaning that the OIA had different priorities since its inception, which I assume did not involve sheltering in a doomsday bunker nestled away in the shadow realm. There's also the question of the loyalties of the OIA. It's been said many times that the members of the OIA were sincerely loyal to GB except for Trueblood, so much so that they even continued to work with GB behind the scenes even when Horse (who they despised) took over. If this is so then what the hell was up with working with Cognitium then? That the OIA is in cahoots with Cognitium is corroborated by dialogue from Garnet, footage of the museum massacre, and Project Partypooper.
>>
>>31459425
The OIA purpose was to set up the ministries to take the fall after the war so that Luna wouldn't appear in a bad light.

It ended with BJ racing Cognitum to the moon to prevent Project Horizons. I forget what happens exactly but she fails somehow and PH is launched. Back on Earth, Tom gets caught by the F.A.D.E but Blackjack/Luna breaks control of it and destroys the Eater. Also
P-21 and Glory die in the process.

As for the epilogue,
I skimmed it, but I think Blackjack is still alive in a blank clone, and just sort of quietly watching over the wasteland.
>>
>>31459702
I'm glad i didn't have to slog through that, thanks Anon.
>>
>>31459580
Blackjack faces off the Eater of Souls in one last final battle. The Eater is defeated and the Core blows up, causing the Hoofington river to flood into the crater where the Core once was. Blackjack is caught in the flood and dies.

Cut forward to an epilogue 200 years into the future and BJ's story is being told around a campfire by a bunch of travelers from different races and backgrounds. Hoofington has become an independent commonwealth (sort of something like House-end New Vegas) and maintains a strained relationship with the NCR. The world has finally begun to return to something resembling pre-war normal and most of the megaspells, the ghouls, and the radiation have finally bled away. The epilogue proceeds to jump back and forth between the segment 200 years in the future and the surviving factions of Hoofington's stories in the aftermath of the Hoof War, and sets up the story hook for Homelands.

THEN it turns out that Blackjack is alive. Turns out her soul drifted into a blank copy of herself or something like that, and she spent the rest of her days like Bruce Wayne did after the Dark Knight Rises by watching over Hoofington and her line of descendants in secret. And I mean literally watching over them, cause it turns out that she's immortal now thanks to being a blank. So is Littlepip, thanks to some magic effect of being in the SPP. They spend the next 200 years being fuck buddies and keeping each other sane. Oh and Boo's also alive and immortal and apparently the new avatar of Chaos as Discord once was.

THEN they launch the SPP into the moon to finally rescue Rampage who was left stranded up there during the penultimate chapter. Rampage has finally died and was enshrined by the moon ponies (yes seriously) as a sort of sleeping godess or something. BJ cuts open the Phoenix talisman, freeing all the souls, except for Rampage's true soul which coalesces into a young Rampage (yes seriously) and they all head back to Equs, hoof-in-hoof

Hi Brisineo!
>>
>>
>>
You on one thing the
That I never liked about FOE is how early it was written. New fics cant take advantage of new plots or info as the show goes on. You're very restricted to the locations and show elements you can reference. Like for example with season 7 star swirl is back in Equestria. I imagine he would bring a lot to the war effort. Or Starlight's weird town popping up as a random location. Or exsploring the dragon lands. You can't do most of that because the OG fic is stuck in 2011-2013 at best
>>
>>31460745
Did you get another gun, Bris? I want you to do another Appletart execution
>>
>>31461709
Sure you can, Fallout Equestria is already an alternate universe, just come up with what those characters would be doing if the events unfolded like they did in the fic. There's no reason a character like starlight glimmer couldn't exist during the fallout equestria timeline.
>>
>>
>>31461709
I kinda like it that way. It's an alternate timeline to the show, and Project Horizons gives a hint to where it splits off from the main cannon. And it's pretty fuckin cool

PH spoilers ahead:
The branch off point is 'Keep Calm and Flutter On' from season 3. Celestia never takes Discord to Flutters to be 'reformed' and he remains encased in stone. When the zebra wars break out, somepony, I don't remember who, probably GB or Twi, decides to harness Discord's chaos magic. They build some kind of machine and stick his stone body in it. It basically drains his blood, thats what FLUX is. The basic component it most of their magical weapons and stuff. Discord slowly has his powers leached away and can't do anything about it. The way he explained the state of the world to BJ was that without Chaos to balance it out, Harmony fell apart. Kinda like how you can't have light without the dark. So the whole mess was caused because they stripped Discord's powers, and tried to use them for something other than balancing Harmony.
I might be totally wrong about all that, but it's my head cannon.
>>
>>31461807
I think the divergence is based more on the notion that there was a resource shortage, specifically coal, just like in fallout canon. The divergence 'point' isn't actually a point, kkat simply changed a constant about the world, by changing equestria into being reliant on coal instead of (presumably) magic for their power needs.

Nah, just the same two shooters.

But I did blow up a Blackjack doll with a homemade firework bomb a few months ago.

>>
>>31461807
I think that just highlights the fact that a divergeance exists. Discord is comparing Show canon with PH canon, doesn't necessarily mean that that's the branch-off point.
>>
>>31461825
The war was about coal. But by the time that becomes a problem, the CMC are pretty much grown. It was years after the show. The convergence point happens DURING the show, because in the FOE universe, Twi didn't ascend to Alicornhood, there is no Glim-Glam, none of those events happened. Discords Reformation was a stepping stone for Princess Twilight. Without that step, she never became the princess of friendship, and wasn't there to 'make friends' with the zebras when war came. The mane 6 weren't even that close anymore when the war started. Rara was living in Manehatten or Canterlot or somewhere, RD was a Wonderbolt, I don't remember about the others, but there is a memory orb sequence in the original story where they are all getting together right about the time the war starts and they hadn't seen each other in a while. I don't remember it all without rereading a bunch of stuff, but it all boils down to the fact Twilight never ascended to Alicornhood and became the Princes of Friendship. No Princess, no zebra friends. Death and destruction.

I need to go to bed

Did he get rid of random misses yet? Shots already have spread, the game doesn't need dice rolls as well.
>>
>>31462377
Does it have random misses?
I thought accuracy was based on weapon skill as well as whether you're shooting behind you or while running.
>>
>>31462384
Back when I played there was an obnoxious chance for shots to just go "Miss!" no matter if they collided with the target.

I haven't played it in a while though, the only versions I put any significant time into were the early ones.

Littlepip is a vault-dweller pony that escapes the vault to save a friend, but ends up finding a lot more than that while also discovering the horrors of the wasteland. Together
with her new friends she finds along the way, Littlepip uncovers ancient secrets and the meaning behind the old war, while seeking to undo the wrongs committed it its wake, but there's a storm brewing in the wasteland. New threats and relics of the past converge and there comes a time when virtues and the kindness of one's heart just isn't enough. And war... war never changes.

INDUSTRIALIZATION IS MAGIC

But then oh shit, turns out all those factories and power plants need coal and bullshit. There's a big war with the zebras over it and everything escalates until the world blows up with radioactive magic and bullshit. But some shady corporation built fallout shelters and junk, so shit's probably gonna be fine.

Saying anything else would be spoiling stuff because half the fun is seeing how the story goes from show Equestria to blown-to-shit Fallout Equestria

I read PH. I read it and I didn't like it. Of course, it had its moments, but that doesn't change the fact that it was overly grimdark, overwrought, and way overlong. The original beats the shit out of it in every way.
>>
>>31462717
You read it and didn't like it and that's okay.

I've loved these past threads but as much as I like PH too I don't think that you have to like it. Parts of the story are over the top at times and it can get annoying. People can like or not like things and everyone has their favorites. I defended PH in the old /foe/ threads but PH is like my 4 favorite out of all the fics with Murky being my number 1.

Still though this whole universe is grimdark and that was the whole appeal to me. Whenever a foe story gets dark I love the shit out of it. If I want sunshine and rainbows I'll go watch the show.

This.

PH has a lot of good and a lot of bad. I love to talk about both its just rare to find people who want to have a conversation rather than picking an extreme for either side. Good thread.

>>31462934
Halfway through murky currently. Poor guy. I wish the author went into the characters of the slavers more. As of right now I'm getting mostly a antagonist for the sake of antagonist feel from the master. And most of the other slavers have one quirk and otherwise act the same.
>>
>>31462982
I don't know why I like Chainlink shackles as a villain. PH has ever single villain be a tragic backstory villain that you feel sympathetic for(this was a complaint for PH but know the show has even done it with Starlight and Stygian) The Goddess, Redeye and Colonel Autumn all had reasons that were somewhat morally grey. Its nice to have a villain just be EVIL for once.

He is also the polar opposite of what Murky stands for.

Fuzzy tried to flesh him out near the end but I feel like Chainlink is supposed to represent an enemy of freedom. To defeat him is to be free and he cant be that complex or it muddles Murky's motivation about breaking out.

I do know that Fuzzy talked about this once and feels like he did what he wanted to do with Chainlink.

You know what I'd really like to see? A story about an evil Littlepip. Like sort of a what if scenario. What if Littlepip picked the 'bad karma' options, like shooting Montery Jack dead at the bridge, siding with Old Appeloosa against New Appeloosa, blowing up the megaspell at Silver Belle's farm (after stealing her recipe for PTMs and making fun of her obsession with Pinkie), picking Deadeyes over Gawd at Shatteredhoof and eventually replacing him as Mr. Topaz's liutenant, getting banned from Tenpony for being a threat to the public, among other things.

And that's not even getting to what would happen when Littlepip encounters Redeye. She'd side with him in the 'evil route', be enhanced through cybernetics in place of 'good route' zebra alchemy, and fight at the forefront of his forces against both the Goddess and the Enclave (former is chaotic evil and cannot be reasoned with, latter is too blinded by racial predjudice).

Eventually Redeye would become the new Goddess (with an optional choice of choosing to become trinity with him and Autumn) and Littlepip would rule the wasteland as the champion of Redeye's new order. The Steel Rangers would be either absorbed or destroyed, the Enclave would be eradicated with any survivors either enslaved by Griffin slavers or on the run, the Hellhounds would be hunted to extinction, and Tenpony would be annexed with DJ-Pon3 executed. Eventually Equestria would return back to itself old glory built on the backs of slaves.
>>
>>31463205
Could play that out in Ashes of Equestra if it ever comes out. It also takes a lot of time to have all those multiple paths to take and that alone could take up a significant time for development.
>>
>>31461709
So come up with an AU of the AU.

Example:

>Instead of The War being set off by a resource disparity between Equestria and Zebrica (I still say Zebrabwe is a better name), it's the "Bad End" reality with Sombra that Twilight experienced in The Cutie Re-Mark. The growing arms race between Equestria and the Sombra-controlled Crystal Empire reaches the point of developing MegaSpell/Thermonuclear technology, and shit hits the fan as it usually does in Fallout stories. The downside is you don't get all the Ministry stuff, since it was established in that reality that the M6 were either enlisted as regular troops, or were using their skills to supply the military forces.

I mean you could go far more in depth if you wanted, but that's just one example.

Shit, you could even do something like, an undiscovered mirror portal of Starswirl's is found and leads to a FoE universe where the M6 are all Wastelanders/Stable Dwellers.
>>
>>31460693
Yeah, i uh, steamrolled through it last night, despite telling myself 'this is a waste of time'.

It was a waste of my time.

And also shit.

Anything else you want to shill about, Anon, or are you just going to keep shilling PH?

I mean, up until the first death was at least intriguing, and if Somber had taken another route besides 'lol revive' i might have had more hope for the story as a whole, but the death total reached 7 counting the end.

And i did enjoy dancing in the rain, thank you.

Shackles is thematically appropriate and is responsible for a lot of the structure of the story making sense. One of the reasons why MN7 builds tension the way it does is because, while you're aware that Murky probably won't be dying from any of his shenanigans and troublemaking, Shackles is always in the background ready to make his life hell.

Incidentally, I think it's hilarious that he's more one-dimensional than a lot of people seem to realize. He claims he doesn't particularly enjoy torturing slaves and only does it as a way to control those around him, and for what it's worth I believe him. Considering his master plan is building a mind control device to create an army of perfect slaves you'd think that that wouldn't leave much room for correctional sadism to occur.

He's a very simple character that is executed very well, and that applies to a lot of MN7. It knows what it wants to do and focuses on doing it well.

PH poster pls go.

The original FoE was written back in 2011-12 during the hiatus, then S2 started. Kkat finished the story around the time of Luna Eclipsed and so Kkat said that's the final divergence point for FoE proper. The big problem with incorporating later elements of the show is of course the issue of Twilicorn. The pre-war plot starts to fall apart once you have all these Alicorns running around and Twilight still trying to make Alicorns in Maripony when it's completely clear that it's actually easy as piss to make more winghorns. The new show and lore even hints that Celestia and Luna weren't born alicucks either so all Alicorns are 'artificial'. Not to mention the CMC having different cutie marks and talents, Glimglam and Trixie, the reformed Changelings, etc.

You can kinda incorporate later elements if you assume that nothing in the show after S2 ever came to pass. So Glim was still that crazy cult leader in bumble fuck nowhere, the Changelings exist they just never got a chance to attack again/in the first place.

Character of mine for a (very) short lived PnP campaign.

Ex-Raider, thrown out of numerous gangs after she kept accidentally blowing up more allies than caravans. Mare loves explosives. Like. Excessively so. Magically specialized in shields in order to "cheat" with them and allow her to blow shit up in close range without gibbing herself.

Pretty much ended up becoming Junkrat before Overwatch was a thing. Hyperactive, tweaked in the head, Michael Bay makes her heart go aflutter, etc.

This endless silence reminds me of the time I went to Disney Land with my eight year old cousin. We were having a swell time until we made it to the teacups. As soon as the teacups had started moving I knew I had made a mistake, and I felt a warm sensation coming from my shorts. A few seconds in I vomited chili dog all over myself and the child next to me, giving both of us third degree burns. The operator stopped the ride as soon as he could, but by then I had already had a heart attack from pain, shame, and democracy.

I think I spent about 4 days in the hospital, but it felt like weeks. While I there I promised myself. When I got out of there, IF I got out of there, I would join the military. I would make sure that those terrorists would pay for what they did on 9/11. Unfortunately, I have a very poor sense of direction, and was never able to find the enlistment office. But I wasn't going to let my disabilities hold me back. If I couldn't help fight a war, I would WRITE about one!

Writing can be difficult, and it takes time to find inspiration. In order to defeat my writers block, I would often go to places containing a multitude of black people packed into a small space, such as Ben and Jerry's.
Eventually this paid off, I had come up with a rough idea for a story, but there was something missing. It needed some extra umph, that punch that separates it from just any other story.

My inspiration came one late Thursday evening, while hiking in the mountains. I came across a herd of horses. I cautiously approached them; my heart was racing so quickly, I feared another heart attack! It felt like ages before I got close enough to touch the two horses. Slowly, I reached my hand out and gently touched the female's mane. As I did, I realized what I had to do. Taking my grandfathers flintlock pistol from my bag, I aimed it at the females head. A single tear rolled down my cheek as I pulled the trigger

It was exhausting, but I was able to drag the dead horse back to my apartment by seven AM the next morning. After skinning and gutting the poor creature, I cooked on a crude campfire in my living room made from books and CD's.

I'll admit; I threw up a few times eating the horse, even if it didn't taste completely awful, that was a lot to eat! Thankfully the horse had been small technically a pony, so I was able to stomach most of the creature.

Upon consuming the horse, I waited a few hours, as to properly digest it's memories and creative energy. Upon doing this I felt refreshed. As if I had just had a good, healthy sleep, even though I hadn't slept in months, not since I had started working on my story. What was even better, though, was that I finally knew what my book needed to achieve its perfection!

That night I sat down at my desk and just wrote, for hours I wrote paragraph after paragraph, jotting down the piece that would soon make me famous.

Upon releasing my story to the public, I was met with a multitude of positive reviews. People were calling my work, "an experience," some told me it was the best fanfiction they had ever read, one man told me that Fallout: Equestria had been the most enjoyable piece of fiction he had read in his entire life. I knew he was ejaculating, but I still have never been as proud as when I read that gentleman's comment. I had done it, after all. My story had reached out to hundreds, perhaps thousand of people. My dream was fulfilled.

And I couldn't have done it without you! The fans! Thank you everyone, for reading Fallout: Equestria! And making me the happiest woman on the planet!

Just finished chapter one of Sisters. Between the prolog and first chapter I think most of the backstory has been covered. On to Action!
Zonie MC's are a nice change from edgy Alicorns i guess. I just hope this dosen't devolve into Candy being filled with self loathing for all the death she's being/going to be exposed to, especially since her little sister is a murder machine, and she can't save everypony.
I'm going to read chapter two of Chrysalis now, i think I'll alternate between these 2 for a while

Trying to get my FoE wiki entries for my story deleted. Anyone know mods I can contact?
>>
>>31480565
Why would you want to do that?
>>
>>31480574
Because I canceled it. Having it on the wiki when there isn't anything there isn't doing the community any favors.
>>
>>31480584
Sorry to hear that. That's the main problem with this fandom, so much unfinished....

If you can find your way onto the post apocalypse emporium discord, I think the mods are on there, used to be anyway.
Good luck with that
>>
>>31480633
got banned from that for being really drunk when logging on and calling Heartshine out as a piss drinking pedophile. Was gonna post the chat logs she dumped into a public room by accident once, but got banned before that. She was a mod too. Oops.

I'll keep looking via other means.
>>
>>31480647
That place is cancer. I'm still in that server but i avoid it. There are a few people still there i might want to talk to someday but i wont participate in the chats.

Dekkonot#1598 is the ID of the guy that runs the wiki now. I did some digging for you. Dosen't look like hes online right now tho. Hope that helps!
>>
>>31480855
As soon as I saw Heartshine was a mod in it, I realized it had become the same selection of people that I had ditched the IRC over. A switch flipped in my head and I just said fuck it. Similarly, I noticed that the people whom are admins/mods on the discord happen to have featured stories on the wiki, with the exception of the one story that advertised once per week, and WE. Good on Ham, though, he's cool and I owe him for something for a long time now. once I'm done with that, I'm off the ride for content generation, and it feels glorious.

The people I'd ever want to talk to are on my steam. And to be fair to Heartshine, it's autopedophilia, not "real" pedo.

I've been digging too, but dekko's last contribution to the wiki was in July? The links to his FimFic account are dead too. I rarely if ever use wiki's as social things, so don't even know how to properly contact people besides message walling.

I might post the crib notes for the story so all ten of you that read it can see how it would have ended.
>>
The Chrysalis, chapter 2.
That escalated quickly, but I like the way it shows the true danger of the Wasteland. No matter how prepared you are, it only takes secounds for all hell to break loose. Next thing you know everypony is dieing and you're running for your life. I'm glad Whisper isn't totally useless, and she saved at least one, then ripped out her love...wtf? This is getting interesting!

>>31480936
what story was it? I'd give it a read. That would make 11!
I only went to the IRC once or twice, back when i first discovered FoE. Funny, FoE is what got me into mlp fan fiction to start with. I still enjoy it as much as i did back then but most of the people involved in it I can't even stand.
Several of us tried to split off and form a Channers only discord and do our own thing but that failed. Only contact i have with FoE now is this thread.
>>
>>31480994
>Only contact i have with FoE now is this thread.
My condolences.

The content generators for the fandom aren't what they used to be. Most of the decent ones bled off. The quality ones don't have the speedy output they once did, either, but at least they're dedicated.

is that you, readfag? if so, you've already read it, and the thread is just a different kind of circle jerk from the discord in that case.
>>
>>31481053
I don't know who readfag is, but I like to read, so I guess that makes me one. As far as 'circle jerk' goes, this whole fandom is a circle jerk, it's so bad they banished us to our own containment board, and this is the only place i like :).

Ok. Prologue and first chapter read.

From your discripition of the destruction of the Crystal Empire, to Snapshots 'coming of age', I enjoyed this.
The Wailers sound terrifying. Still having the connection to the crystal heart and being able to mess up ponies with thier memories adds a whole new set of problems to deal with.
The snowed in Wasteland is a nice change and somehow dosen't seem as bleak and desolate as the other parts of Equestria, but I guess it would be.
I like the older brother not being overprotective and giving his charge some space to grow up.
Book Worm was interesting, for the short time she was alive. Her demise will stick in my memory like Snapshots snapshot. That was a nice touch.

I'm going to sleep now. I look forward to reading more tomorrow.

one of the things that was interesting about Fallout was the pre-war stuff. A lot of it was just kind of stupid inter-office stuff with Bethesda, but looking on highly advanced technology as terrible relics in obsidian games was always interesting. The Poseidon laser, nuke tech in general, vertibird and enclave armor development, etc. The events on how they were made or how they happened were always cool.

I know way too much about the original Fallout lore after looking into it though, and it's a damn shame what became of it. The best part was they built the lore first, then flopped the characters in the middle of it to let it get figured out and dealt with however the player chose. They didn't build the lore around the characters and railroad you into doing the right thing with it, like basically everything Bethesda does.
>>
>>31484073
Lore is the best part of any game to me, or story. I love backstory. Elder scrolls is really my forte. I've spent countless hours, probably more than I've spent playing the games, pouring through the Imperial Library.
FoE gets me the same way, only problem is there isn't a central source. Everybody that writes a story makes up their own and it normally conflicts with something else. I usually just take it on a story by story basis, some day I'm gunna have some time on my hands to gather up all the lore from the different stories and try to combine it all in one place. Maybe when I retire, but by then the fandom will be dead and no one will remember FoE.
>>
>>31484257
the events of TC occur 80 years-ish before the Pippening, so 120 years after the bombs. So, have fun with that.

Fallout Equestria Sisters, Chapter 2:
Fleeing through the Macintosh Hills, falling into caves, Breaking limbs and getting sick to fix yourself, yay!
Nohta beating the hell out of some rock to deal with her emotions was cool. Seems to me like she'll make out very well in the Wastes. This little zony must have put up with a lot of grief in the stable to be as tough as she is. Candy on the other hoof, not so much.
The almost complete mental breakdown when she finally kills somepony, I saw that coming a mile away. At least she pulled herself out of it fairly quick.
This mysterious pegamare that saved them, now there's a character I want backstory on. This is before the day of Sunshine and Rainbows, so most pegasi that are in the wastes are dashites, yet she still has her cutie mark, and has obviously grown up in the Wasteland. Se's going to be a fun character to get to know...I hope.
Candy didn't seem to recognize her as the mare that was strung out in the doc's office before. Must have been the shock.
We got a little peek at what's going on around Mareon. Raiders, raiders everywhere! And somepony is pulling the strings. Too many shady things going on.
All in all a good chapter.

I'm just going to dump some wordvomit here because I needed to get this out of my head.

>Depot 74. An unassuming name for an unassuming place. On the record, it was simply a warehouse center out in the middle of nowhere, used for storing industrial supplies for a number of textile factories.

>Off the record, it was a top secret military base for Project Moonshot.

>Project Moonshot was Princess Luna's pet project before the war. As tensions mounted and the need for an edge in the war against the Zebra increased, the Princess selected the best and brightest amongst her Night Guard to form a secret Black Ops unit that was tasked to create the most cutting edge technologies for the war effort. Through corporate espionage, they secured the blueprints for numerous technologies that were in development at the time, including the blueprints for StableTec's Megaspell Shelters. As an added measure of securing a future for Ponykind, a few of the more important bases where Project Moonshot was operating from used and improved upon these designs to create their own shelters in the event that all hell broke loose, so that they could continue their research even throughout the hellscape of a thaumanuclear wasteland. Some even had their operations completely moved into these MilSpec Stables, to avoid a potential loss of progress should they be needed after all.
>>
>>31484900
>And at Depot 74, that is exactly what was forced to happen.

>As the megaspells went off, and various military listening posts began to simply drop off the face of the world or report strikes inbound before going silent, Depot 74 went into evacuation protocols. Being one of the few bases which had been converted into a MilSpec Stable, the door was closed almost immediately as soon as the order was given, the few personnel above ground herded into the shelter before it was shut entirely.

>And for 200 years, it stayed shut. Yet work continued on, contingency orders demanding an unceasing progress. The shelter expanded deep below ground as the need for raw materials increased in order to continue to fuel the advances they made. Crude cybernetics refined into miracles of neural-networking, crystalline laser technology refined and re-iterated time and time again until a weapon that once needed a battery the size of a backpack, could fit comfortably in one's hoof, power pack and all.

Fallou Equestria Chrysalis. Chapter 3: Downpour.

I like this changeling. I like this authors take on Changelings. It's pretty cool how they have a mind of their own, and function without their queen. It provides a different viewpoint, hell, i don't know what I'm talking about...i just like it.
I think they missed a couple of opportunities for allies in this chapter. That Alicorn might have been lost and looking for a friend after the death of the goddess. The big scary mare who's home they invaded didn't seem too bad, except for the bag of heads...maybe they were raiders?
Starlight seems to be a lot more 'together' than most young ponies in the Wasteland. She didn't seem to have too much trouble adjusting to the fact she killed somepony. We'll see if that toughness holds out.

On a side note. I'm having difficulty with Whispers voice in my head though. I don't know why, but her voice sounds like a male. I keep forgetting she's a she. Maybe it's the way the character is written or my preconceived notion that all drones are male. I'm just having trouble viewing Whisper as female. Maybe that will get better.

All in all I'm enjoying it. I'm glad this one is still active.

Now for chapter 2 of Tartarus Contingency.

Fallout Equestria Tatarus Contingency: Chapter 3.
All it takes is one

This got dark. Snapshot has gone from cute colt with wanderlust and a thing for taking pictures, to an almost raider-like psycopath. Guess Book Worms death messed him up pretty good.
The gruelling training he got from his brother has paid off. That fight at the boxcar, and what he did to that mare, she-it! That was something.

I'm going to assume from the lore notes that the Tartarus Contingency, is a megaspell gone wrong. Whatever it was caused the storms, the Dervish, and the creation of Wailers.
To avoid putting his little brother out of his misery, Shureshot is going to unleash him on the Equestrian wasteland. That can't possibly be a BAD thing...can it?
It's nice to see an MC that is not your average 'helpless Stable pony' weakling. A decent into madness would be great.
Snapshot should make his way to the Hoof and hook up with Rampage, they would have fun together
Great chapter

I mean, I like PH upto a certain point.

For example. Boo is cute, and drunk BJ and her love of casual sex is funny because I'm the same, and the augmented limbs were cool when it happened the first time. After that it became really shit, especially when the GitS shit happened with Deus. Oh yeah, and it was fucking stupid for that to happen as well, Deus becoming a fucking tank.

In places, I like Sombers expansion on the lore, like the sniper that killed Big Macintosh was Psalm instead of a random zebra. But it was stupid that she would have also shot Pinkie considering Pinkie was about to die anyway, because Somber has a thing about Pinkie burning he hated.
>>
>>31489105
>Drunk BJ
But BJ literally only gets drunk 3 times all in 1-16. She physically becomes unable to get drunk after she gets her cybernetics for christsake. Where the fuck did this 'LOL WHISKEY QUEEN XDDDD' meme come from? Because if you actually read the fucking story it's not true in the slightest

This is an important point.
Obviously you need to read and enjoy the original story to even consider reading an even longer derivative work.
As such, there are likely very few people that enjoy PH and hate the original.
The same can not be said both ways, though.
Instead of acknowledging that we all love the same story, some people would rather just fight over how the original is better and Somber is a "pedo depressive edgelord weeaboo cuck"
Disgusting.

>>31489591
Dunno what this post proves, other than that you're the same guy causing problems and that you have entitlement issues.
You also further prove my own point so that's nice. I wish you had a name so I could filter you.
>>
>>31489610
>Instead of acknowledging that we all love the same story

You mean, by coming to a thread titled about that story, meaning it should be a given that we'd be interested in it? Therefore, doesn't need to be mentioned?

Then finding out it's not about that story but instead focused on an offshoot of it that was so widely despised it polarized the entire community to the degree it was banned from being discussed in certain spaces?

And then having people casually ignore the points that are made in critique of said polarizing story because they just want to have it be part of the community again despite what it does to that community? Calling others entitled to not want that polarizing garbage in the threads, then making it about the polarizing garbage? Finalizing it with an intent to just flat out ignore the person pointing out the polarizing garbage?

That's exactly the kind of disingenuous "it's just you," critique ignoring bullshit that got content creators migrating away from the threads.

I could be wrong, but I like to think that most, if not all of us can agree that Fallout: Equestria *and* Project Horizons are both good for poking fun at and joking about. We can like the weird juxtaposed setting of colorful magic horses trying to survive in a toxic crapsack world, share in the heroic and terrible things that happen, *and* make fun of it all at the same time.

A lot of people tend to ignore critiques of PH not because they disagree with them, but because the original has a lot of the same problems that for some reason people turn a blind eye to.
Also, the thread isn't about PH, it's about FOE. You seriously need to lay off the hateboner and just accept that some people will like things you don't like.
>>
>>31489979
The original doesn't have rampant pedophilia or anime references though.
>>
>>31489998
>off by one
Sure, but as far as everyone that ever read the story knew, PH didn't even have foalcon at all until chapter 75.
The anime references didn't bother me since I don't watch anime, and didn't even know they existed until after the fact since everyone was complaining about them so much. So I dunno, maybe I would have hated the story if I caught them all, but I'm sort of glad I didn't.

Fallout Equestria Sisters, chapter 3
Life in your new home.

Wow.
That was a hell of a ride.
I figured the Stable would be in trouble, didn't think it would be over allready. What kind of sick fuck drops two cute zony fillies into a mind blender like that? Arowid must have some serious issues.

Anyway, loved the action. Candy useing her brain to fight, Nohta discovering the joys of Dash. Good wholesome sister bonding. Yeah.
I love how Candy goes from shattered mental state over killing somepony to trying to burn Pyros lungs out with chloramine, or is it hydrazine, in a matter of hours, and then looking her in the eye as she blew her brains out. Embrace the hate dear, you'll need it for what is to come.
I hope Mareon is fairing better. The sisters are deffinatly going to need some help if they want to get stronger and rescue what is left of their stable, if there is anything left.
A great chapter, with lots of character development, plot advancement, and general mayhem. The insights into their 'religion' was interesting. I too worship the moon. I also like the excerpts from the 'dook of Nadira at the begining. i shuddered at 'play'

Looking forward to more!

Fallout Equestria The Chrysalis, chapter 4
Rust

Not much happening here, just a little bonding between Whisper and Starlight. A quaint little Megaton-like town with some friendly ponies. And a shady old pone that knows about some salvage.
For what feels like a filler chapter, it went by pretty quick, and ended with something i want to know about...a Raptor falling from the sky. I'm so tempted to go straight to the next chapter, but I'll stick to my schedule.

Fallout Equestria The Tartarus Contingency, Chapter 3.
The First Day

Short chapter.
Letters. They're burning letters. At least they are reading them first. The love letter that Quartz reads aloud, at first i thought it might be from Cadence to Shining, but then they tried to burn that other one that is enchanted. I wonder what is in it? This scene brought up images of Mel Gibson in The Postman. I love that movie. It's what I would want to do if i survived the apocalypse. I wonder if there are any FoE stories like that movie out there
Miser seems smart, Quartz seems cute, Snapshot seems...stoned. I'm hopeing a friendship builds here, but i doubt it. I don't think Snapshot is capable.

Everything has fucking references tough. The original referenced the show a lot. It's how've it works.

Did PH have too many anime references? Yes and I feel like just inserting a pony version of Armstrong was stupidly lazy. It should of be easy to tell them apart but their practically the same character. Does this ruin the story? No and at the end of the day a writer can write what they want and will usually reference pop culture they like. It will always be there even if it's fluttershy would like to be a tree or the Armstrong line has been passed down for generations.

Plus Kkat already took all the good jokes with show.

In FoE: Chrysalis it's the right ear
Difference in regions I guess. The amount for ears is different too. Rust is just raising theirs to 50 caps, Mareon's was 20 for ears, 200 for the leaders, and 5000 for Psyker.

Fallout Equestria Sisters, chapter 4:
Living of the land.

Why do the stupid Brotherhood...er Steel Rangers, have to show up and ruin the fun? 'Belle' has found her beautiful (if somewhat dilapidated) treasure trove of books, only to be captured by the beast!
Anyway, this was a good one. Nice plot progression, new ponies met, talking Brahmin (i knew they existed), we got to see how that audio deterrent works, watch Candy turn a sick colt into a fire breather, laugh at her complete cluelessness when Cabernet came on to her, and more sister bonding.
The creepy message left by Psyker was a nice touch. Some Pinkie sence going on or something different? Why did they ignore the hole outside the library? Poor Nohta's leg.
I like how Candy isn't so sure of herself anymore. The shock is wearing off and now she is second guessing her decisions. No charging across the Wasteland in search of vengeance. That's why she's a smart zigge...i mean, zony. No racisism!

I have one complaint, not necessarily about this story, but FoE stories in general. Most of them are one pony telling about their experiences. There is no alternating view points. It gets kind of boring after a while.
>>
>>31495937
Damn character limit
Any way. I would just like to see Nohta's persective, know what she is thinking, or in other stories, Calamity, or P-21, or Starlight...so much story that dosen't get told...whatever. It is what it is.

Fallout Equestria Chrysalis, chapter 5:
Friendly Faces.

The town of Gemstone seems too good to be true. Some awfully friendly ponies there. I wonder what's in their basements?
We get some character development from Starlight, and Dusty seems to be not near as shady as I thought. His views on the Grand Pegasus Enclave are on point stupid turkeys, closing up the skies
So far this story has been pretty PG. Maybe the next chapter will have some action. I am loving Whisper though. Showing concern for her friend, and not just viewing her as food. I didn't think Changelings could be so...good.

On a side note, is there any art for these stories I'm reading? I'd love to see some.
>>
>>31497160
Found it from chapter 21:

Something that bugged me, though, was the door he stood next to; it was just a simple metal door set between a Fantastic Hoofware and Radio Stable. The symbol on it was small and seemed faded even before two centuries of exposure. Glaring at him once, I took a closer look. It was seven familiar symbols; a moon, a starburst, three apples, three balloons, three diamonds, three butterflies, and a cloud and lightning bolt. The moon sat in the center, surrounded by a ring. The six other symbols were arranged around it, and two more gray lines weaved in and out of them, seeming to tie them all together.
At the bottom, written in small letters: ‘Office of Interministry Affairs, Riverside Branch.’

Thats pretty much what we got here >>31459425

AJ did all the boring stuff such as logistics, armor and arms production/development, troop management, and military affairs. Also avoiding committing too many war crimes so as to make the other side blow a gasket and blow both of them all off the planet.

Dash wanted to do all the cool stuff and go in all Spec Ops style behind enemy lines. Going on suicide missions to take on the big targets with small groups of elites and high tech equipment, and possibly breaking code to be edgy, all so that little fillies would tell stories about them for generations.

Fallout Equestria Tartarus Contingency, chapter 4
The Fields of Hungry Earth.

>Ditsy Doo, make a note in the Wasteland Survival Guide, Crystal Empire chapter: "If you fall into a cavern under the ice on The Trot, do yourself a favor and eat a bullet, cause you don't want to be alive for whats down there..."

Holy fuck. That was some scary shit. You were right, The Hunger is better. I like the wasteland poetry too.
>We have starved the Earth. Every one of us He eats, is just a morsel.
Very cryptic foreshadowing.

There's probably no reason to point this out, since you said this story was dead, but the dialog is really hard to follow sometimes, Like when Snapshot fell down the hole and was telling the others to keep going. It was hard to know who was speaking.
The list of names on the wall, looks like some racism going on there, poor unicorns. It was a good chapter though, and you did the horror really well, good tension between the characters. I'm enjoying it!

>>31503796
First of all, why would the waifu start shooting at you and continue to do so after you are obviously non-hostile? I'm assuming they have EFS (as most MCs do)
Secondly, what makes you think you could do anything?
The waifu has been through a hell of a lot more than you and has dealt with a lot worse than some disoriented bipedal fanboy.
I'm assuming they're also travelling with their friends, which reduces your chances to absolute nil if you all you have is a fucking glock.
So
I would probably just call out for her to hold her fire. If that doesn't work, I would accept my fate or attempt to flee, because both options present a higher chance of survival than initiating lethal combat with someone with plot-armor

Fallout Equestria Sisters, chapter 5:
The value of Family

A lot of stuff happened in this chapter. I really should start taking notes as I read, so I can remember what I want to mention.
Steel Rangers are assholes. Holly seemed to be ok though. As they worked their way through the 'library' I actually started to like her. It looked like we might actually get some friendship magic going on, but...well.
Nohta going on a drug fueled rampage and kiting ghouls was great. Candy's sudden obsession with explosives is exactly what she needs. Bright Eyes is terrifying.
Really good action scenes. The Steel Rangers kick ass for a moment. Then Candy abandons Holly, WTF? I guess it's ok since they really aren't friends yet, but that was a twist I didn't see coming. I was thinking the Rangers would get wiped out and they would save Holly.
Then we have the bridge. Will Candy and Nohta survive? Will the Cheese family help or run? Will the 'featherbrain' show up in the nick of time?

So Exciting!!

Fallout Equestria Chrysalis, chapter 6:
Carrion

This story is sloooww. The characters are interesting though. I like Dusty. He seems like a really cool stalion. Monstermare has a name, Sickle, and she likes to kill raiders. They got some good salvage, emotionally scared, and Whisper managed to get them to get along without too much effort. Whisper would make a better Princess of Friendship than Twilight
Not much besides that happens but at least they are short chapters.

and....

Fallout Equestria Tartarus Contingency, chapter 6:
The Quiet Ones.

Snapshot and company stumble apon a tribe of deer. They are creepy as fuck, until the end of the chapter. Very interesting backstory.

Would Trixie die if her vat fell over?
Like an earth quake happens and tips the vat over and she spills out in a big soupy mess tearing her apart.
Also I forgot if she has movable tentacles.
>>
>>31507980
No. The Goddess has transcended that slimy form. She lives inside the minds of every pony in the Wasteland now, and more.
That little voice in the back of your mind that whispers, sometimes so quiet you can barely hear it: "You can do it, Anon. You are the best" that is the Goddess, telling you that you are Great and Powerful.
Feed that voice Anon. Feed it Peanutbutter Crackers every day. Embrace Unity.

Our Goddess awaits...

>>
>>31507980
IIRC the vat is just the means to dissolve the form into the greater gestalt. There isn't any physical form to the Goddess, she's a creature of pure thought.
>>
>>31509478
I always wondered what happened to Trixie's consciousness when the bomb went off. Twilight escaped. she comes in and saves little Pip as a super Alicorn. She shows up in Starlight, as part of Starlight's mind or whatever. The Goddess sent all her children away, and when Unity was destroyed they lost their connection to each other. I like to think that Trixie managed to make it into one of her children at the last second, or a little piece of her is in all the post Unity Alicorns. Maybe she'll show up in some story or something.
>>
>>31509953
>Twilight escaped

Not in the original FoE she didn't. Bitch got melted down and absorbed.
>>
>>31509957
He means after Littlepip sets off the megaspell and severs the Goddess link with the other alicorns. We see an alicorn that acts like Twilight Sparkle briefly.
>>
>>31509989
Yeah but from what I gather that was left rather vague.

Something about this chapter i forgot to mention. All this talk about the Goddess made me remember.
When Candy mentioned the Goddess (Luna), the Star Paladin got all excited. She whispered in Candy's ear 'are we susters?' or something to that effect.
Is she perhaps in Unity? We know from the original and PH that enough taint can tune a ponies mind to the Goddess and she can speak to them and hear them, and even control them to some extent.
The Steel Rangers are looking for a book. I'm guessing, the leader is being driven by the Goddess to find the Black Book. If this is the case then thats a nice tie in with the original. I like seening things like that in these side stories.

Fallout Equestria Sisters, chapter 6 (part 1):
Desert Flora and Their Inherent Alchemical Properties

Ow the feels. That story of how their mother died. I was reading that last night as I played at FO4. Glancing at my inventory I had 32 Radaways. I take the stuff for granted.
It's nice to see a 'hero' be like a regular, everyday pony trying to get by, not magically having a healing potion or more amo exactly when they need it. You do see that some in the main stories, but this one feels more real.
We get a name for the 'featherbrain' Lilly Bell. Racism is real. Potions take time. Candy is a prood, she needs a good rutting to loosen her up.
Sadly there are only 3 chapters of this fic left. At least they're pretty long.
>>
>>31509994
>left rather vague
Twilight's CM appears on the alicorn and then starts to fade away, Pretty clear it's her.

Of course PH forgot this and made that same alicorn Lacunae/Psalm because Somber's foalcon lust forces him to destroy all things good in the world because pedophilia is illegal.

Fallout Equestria Chrysalis, chapter 7:
A job well done.

Nothing of note, just some ribbing Starlight about sex. Whisper bought a suppressor.

it's an excuse to bring up the character's super amazing unbeatable skill (tm). Or rather, a set-up to have the writer shove it in as the" escape from trouble free" card.

STR-punched their way out.
PER-spotted the pinhole in the armor that let them instakill the boss with a 9mm
END-Survived 487 bullets to the face and told the boss to stoppit, then his cohorts put the boss down because boss didn't stoppit
CHA-"Stop it, you're being mean." And the boss then stopped (and everyone clapped)
INT-I rewired the DTHTBLH (device that happened to be located here) to save our asses and kill everyone else
AGI-I ninja'd the boss yo
LUK-The boss missed 487 times, and his own ricochet brained him

Fallout Equestria Tartarus Contingency, chapter 6:
The Dark Days.

So an eclipse happens, the Hunger is unleashed, and has a craving for Snapshot. At least he left his soul with the deer.
Quartz is a bitch, or really smart, however you want to look at it.
If you aren't going to continue, you should rewrite the end of that chapter so that he dies, instead of leaving it hanging with a new bad guy in a wheelchair beating him with a bat.

It was pretty good. Rough, needs some editing, someone who knows more about writing than i do. All i can tell you is I liked the story, I like the lore you've built, your characters are fun. It's dark and gritty and makes me cold to read it. Good job.

So that's one down. I'll continue with Sisters and Chrysalis, if anyone wants to suggest a new story, I can juggle 3 fairly easy.
See you next thread!
>>
>>31517078
I don't know any more. I've been considering some things, but the base component is that I just don't feel I'm writing for the audience I started writing for. I don't want to stop writing it, but doing so and not having anyone see it is a bit pointless.
>>
>>31517172
Not many people will look past the flaws and see the point you're trying to make. I enjoy writing, but I don't post anything most of the time, because when I do it just gets ignored. If by some chance someone comments on it, it's to criticize and tell me what I did wrong. I know they are just trying to help me improve, but it feels like people aren't getting it, so I just don't bother anymore.
Only advice I can give is do it for yourself. If you want to write it then write it, dosen't matter if nobody likes it. If you NEED to get it out then you HAVE to get it out. If your audience is still around they might enjoy it. I for one would read more.
I should probably take my own advice, and stop letting my own idea's stew and rot.
>>
>>31517424
that's actually one of the reasons I ended up preferring the threads instead of other places. Things like the IRC and discord melt into circle jerks, and FimFic ends up giving ego-inflating numbers that can lead to thinking one can do no wrong. The threads at least (used to) bring up stuff that, just as often as it was simple vitriol or invective, had some truth to it that you could pick out. You could always spot something to improve on if your skin was thick enough to decipher what they were saying.

I think what I've come to realize I don't really want to stop writing this, I just hate the most active community components for various reasons. Wanting to contribute to a community you largely hate (with guys like Doctor Ham, Snipe, and Lucid as exceptions) is very distracting.

The other thing is that there was a lot of stuff where parallels can be drawn between FO4 wasteland locales. I had the memorial baseball stadium cemented as the Snowflakes little raider city, for example, and then Diamond city became a thing like a year later. Hate that shit when it happens. Then again, they don't have russian style snow plows mounted with machine guns fighting mutated bears, or a racist, southern, colonel sanders lookalike confined to a weaponized wheelchair.

Regardless of the personal blog, I'll try and get something out to see if I feel any better about it.
>>
>>31517815
Good on you. Make yourself happy first.

I know exactly what you are talking about. The FoE community is mostly shit. The stories are good, but the people, ugh. I've said it before, this thread is the only contact with the FoE fandom that I have.
Even with all the hate and salt getting thrown back and forth in this thread, I'd still rather be here than on the discord, FiM, or r/falloutequestria. I'd rather be here, in my own little world, with my horsefucker friends.

Goodbye Thread. I'll post a new one in the morning.
Unlees one of you wants to do it first.
I got more chapters to do commentary on.
