I've still got some work to do with the head. I wasn't happy with the base shape of the muzzle and cheeks, so I added some foam and started to cut away at it. Still have some more to do with that, plus I may add some foam to the forehead as well. Somebody else did this and that idea has grown on me. Also I had some help the other day and made my duct tape dummy.

I'm glad to see we finally go rid of the craft part of this thread and just focused on the suits.

Hey I got one of them Fluttershy build a bears things from a Sally Ann and I have cuddled her every night but my question is there any way to untangle her hair?
it is in like nigger knots now and I don't want to rip strands of her hair out by mistake when brushing it so is their like a shampoo that can fix this mess or is my waifu stuck like this?
>>
>>33135084
IIRC you can. There are probably special shampoos, or you can use olive oil or so for hair (might not be ideal for using on a plush), but either way you'll need a lot of patience and progressively thinner combs (I think brushes won't really help here, but it's your call to see what works, I'm not a professional or anything). I do know that if somebody's hair or a pet's fur gets too tangled, it can sometimes have to be shaved instead - here that's not really an option so be aware that depending on how bad it is you might be in for a task that people would literally shave completely rather than bother with.

In the future, brush it regularly to avoid this problem. This only happens if you let it slide for too long, and then you get this absolute mess that's a gigantic fucking pain to sort out. If you have the time to cuddle, you also have the time for basic care like a bit of brushing.

Asked a couple of guys on the plushie discord about sewing advice. thanks again if you are reading this m8's
Been fidiling arround with my sewing machine settings to get the right settings and managed to sew 2 scrap pieces together pretty well.
Doing a little bit at a time in the afternoons and on weekends if i have nothing on.
All the template pieces have been cut of the dtd roughly and are ready to transfer onto fabric.
Other than that I need acrylic for the hat and something for the cape. I have a heat gun so i can bend the acrylic into shape easy enough.
Planning of moving to my own place so I have a bit more privacy. Progress may slow a bit because of it but hopefully iw will be finished by the end of the year.

Soak it in fabric softener for about 15 mins. Use pet brush to brush it. Start from the ends. Soak again in softener. Rinse. Let air dry.

I’ve had my 12 inch Twily that I ordered new a month ago and she was so soft when i first cuddled with her, but now her coat is losing that feel and i dont like it. I dont get it, I take showers every night, my house isn’t hot, and i dont sweat in my sleep.

what the fuck am i supposed to do? I had an 8 inch Pinkie end up like that and i put her in the washing machine (not the dryer) on the delicate setting and she cane out with her coat permanetly ruined, she feels like carpet now. Will this “fabric softener” do anything about that? I’ve been told to avoid it.

You need a wig or doll brush. Like anon said, always start at the end of the hair and work your way to the scalp. Leave shampoo or fabric softener in the hair for a good 45 minutes and brush while wet. Hair will come out, be gentle and patient.

Furries.

>>
>>33137261
Furries invaded what was a good humble thread for hobbyists and made it their own.
And didn't even give the board the decency to change the thread title.
>>
>>33137388
If you want your own plush thread, feel free to make it. We aren't the board police and we literally cannot enforce anything, even if we said "actually AiE and mlpg should be merged here, they're part of this thread now, we're "ponysuits, AiE and mlp general" that literally wouldn't change anything on the board.
But at least a few people are happy to come here to post their plush stuff. In my opinion this is beneficial because both threads are otherwise near-dead, so by combining the activity we can make it ever so slightly less dead. The topics also have a ton of overlap. But none of this means anything if the communities aren't happy to coexist, so in the end it's all up to the plush posters to decide whether to come here or make their own.

>>33141389
So how do people usually go about making the heads? I have access to a 3d printer and used it to make an anime kigu for practice so I was just thinking of 3d printing a head as a base.
>>
>>33145671
The head is usually EVA foam. It's stiff but pliable. You could also use upholstery foam, but beware that it's almost too flexible.

Assemble using a pattern like so:
https://www.deviantart.com/toki-reatle/art/Pony-Fullsuit-head-pattern-426863770
Then apply fur, build and install eyes (using painted buckram for all or part of them adds some ventilation so you don't die) and attach mane.

As an alternative, this guy sells vacuformed plastic shells you can use as a base:

>>
>>33145595
>Plush threads and ponysuit threads.

>>
>>33146427
You said:
>Furries invaded what was a good humble thread for hobbyists and made it their own
It's impossible to invade something where they were the main reason the thread existed in the first place, numbnuts. Try thinking and reading what you say before frothing at the mouth about "muh furries"
>>

>plush threads
>made by furries
Yea, no. Kill yourself you piece of shit furfag, for invading and ruining another good thread.
>>
>>33146965
Now you're just rambling
>>
>>33146367
the head is EVA, because it's very cheap and you can get it everywhere. It is still stiff if you buy a heavy foam-

>As an alternative, this guy sells vacuformed plastic shells you can use as a base:
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/atalonthedeer/folder/211190/MLP-Parts-and-Acessories

I also have one of one base of him it's very durable and the form also flexible but not as EVA. It is the better option for very heavy hair(like Rarity). Also he sells the holders for the heads, buy one even if you make it one of EVA or other materials it is better then make it yourself.

>>33145671
great idea. if you are skilled enough to use one to make a 3D model of a head you can print it. I know one who uses 3D Printing to make Fursuit heads in general.
>>
>>33146965
THIS IS NOT THE PLUSH THREAD. This is the pony crafting thread, mainly used by a few anons building suits, but where anyone making crafts is welcome - including plush discussions, but the guy who makes stone Chrysalis horns also came by, and any kind of diy is in theory welcome.

We specifically invite plush posters to come here for the aforementioned reason of keeping both threads more alive by combining. That's an invitation, not some sort of executive order, and this thread isn't an attempt to supplant them - notice how the title and OP are completely different from the actual plush threads.

Might I point out that in general the few plush posters that come by are quite happy to post here. You're the only one sperging. But if you like, make your own plush thread, and then stop complaining here.
>>
>>33147748
Thank you anon, though it was unnecessary to put that much effort into BTFOing a troll when a simple "fuck off" would've sufficed

Will there be a point in time where we can 3D-print fuckable pony waifus or something? I'm forever alone and want a pony waifu but I'm not really willing to spend $1500+ on a plushie which will also require upkeep due to its fragile materials.
>>

>>
>>33128686
Idk man, I love finding Dash's hair on my clothes when she's not around.
>>
>>33150300
Faux fur sheds quite a bit, but not enough to really compromise the integrity of the mane.
But it sheds enough to see it around your living space. To see it on your clothes every once in a while.
That colored fur, reminding you of who you really care about.
>>
>>33150293
Why the fuck would you do that?
>>
>>33150289
You can't really 3D print cloth/fabric. You'd need to build an actual waifu robot, but once you do that you'd probably want the parts injection molded or something for better durability and cheaper bulk production, and anyway the external "skin" and "fur" plus whatever is used to simulate soft flesh and hide the hard mechanical inner workings will be some exotic and really expensive material.
>>
>>33150289
As long as you get one made by someone who knows what they're doing they aren't really going to break on you. Minky is a pretty durable fabric, it's really more of a matter of putting in an active effort to keep them clean.

There are a few shots out there of porn actresses in "cosplays". Usually they're very shitty and/or minimalistic. If something with full suits exists I am not aware of it and have been unable to find it despite years of more or less searching.

It's not hard to imagine not existing, though. Quality suits are very expensive and hard to make ($1000+), and the fetish is extremely niche, so no-one will do this for profit. And the only people who own suits for their own sake are people autistic enough to shell out on something like this, and those are 99.9% men. Plus having an expensive suit like that is rare in the first place, so girls who have MLP suits are unbelievably rare, if that even exists at all. Finally, you would need to be really dedicated to this exact fetish to risk damaging or staining the suit, and again due to how expensive it is pretty much nobody who owns one would be willing to do so.
Overall the odds that a woman would own such a fursuit and be willing to have sex in it and be willing to record and publish that are infinitesimally small. And again the fetish is niche enough, and carries enough stigma, that no professional/for-profit porn producer will ever bother.

Most fursuiters are female, but you're right if you're specifically talking about MLP fursuits where the characters are the only female part :^)
