What's one genre of music (however big or small) that you just have zero interest in?
>>73454141youtube coverslofi hip hop instrumentalsska punk
>>73454141Grunge, Pop Punk, Classic Punk Rock. Dunno why, it just doesn't appeal to me
your favorite genre
australian hip hop
>>73454141Bachata, I've to be told that there was more than one bachata artist even tho it sounds identical to me.
reggae. did my best, just doesn't do it for me.a lot of club-oriented electronic music.math rock. emo.
>>73454185This, and the vast majority of EDM with four to the floor rhythms. Bores me to death.
>>73454141NoiseHad a few tapes sent to me at different times because of my interest in drone, and it just doesn't do anything for me.
>dismissing genresreally shows what kind of idiots lurk on this site
>>73454954Musical Maturity Lesson #001: Introspect as a Means of Maximizing SuccessDiscovering and accepting musical biases, and employing your self-knowledge in a way conducive to the discovery and appreciation of good music>example 1: "I really like 'x' (where 'x' can be a style, instrument, aesthetic, etc.) therefore I will seek out music with 'x' because I understand I am more likely to enjoy them.">example 2: "I really dislike "x" (where 'x' can be a style, instrument, aesthetic, etc.) therefore I will avoid music containing 'x' for now because I understand I am less likely to enjoy them and prefer to keep my time as conducive to the discovery and appreciation of good music as possible."It is perfectly okay (and even encouraged) to dismiss a genre of music if you hold strong bias against the prominent aesthetics that define that genre. To imply that all genres are of equal worth, or that no genre is "devoid of good music" is a sign of both musical immaturity and unrefined taste.>note: Accepting your musical biases does not mean to become complacent with them- quite to the contrary in fact. By pinpointing what you do and don't like, you can be much more effective in your search for good music by paying closer attention to the descriptions of and content within new musics.>note 2: It is encouraged to be as specific and analytic with your musical biases as possible- dismissing large chunks of things merely because they fall under a vague or broad term can be a grave mistake, and putting too much on your plate at once with overly wide musical fetishes can be tiring.
>>73454954They're not dismissing, it's just that nothing in that genre tickled their fancy.
>>73454141Any metal whatsoever
Indie pop or indie folkcan't even think of a most cancer-ridden genre
whiny indie rockreggae
I absolutely love dance music, all genres from grime to breakbeat hardcore to footwork but I can't stand trance. I just can never get into it at all.
>>73454954Did you even read OP?
I dislike country, EDM, reggae, most punk rock, some of the extreme metal stuff, folkies/singer-songwriters (barring Bob Dylan and 1-2 other exceptions).
rap of any kind; except maybe horrorcore
pop punk, reggaeton, the nigger music that we have to listen to in France
>>73454143>good reggaeton doesn't exis-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTEscgVDnAU
>>73454141>That horrible mainstream pop EDM crossover that seems to be everywhere>Trap rap just feels like a step back in terms of progress for hip hop and reminds me of those shitty mid-2000s ringtone rappers, yet mumble rappers get tons of praise>K-Pop and J-Pop (idol pop, basically) are just waifuism threads in a more active form that not only acknowledges the fact, but bases everything within the genre on it>Brostep. Fuck you Skrillex. Dubstep was actually a very consistent electronic genre that had a lot of appeal to me.>Christian Rock that doesn't remain remotely subtle about what it's about and places the songwriter at some high pedestal for believing in a specific branch of a specific religion while playing buttrock is the worst.>I've yet to find any crunkcore that appeals to me in the slightest. I genuinely believe it may be the overall worst genre.I also have never heard any reggaeton, so though it's a popular answer, I don't really have an opinion yet.

>>73455212>death grips>good there's plenty of good reggaeton, tho
>>73455340Oh and PC Music
>>73454141Indie. I like some entry-level bands (Alt-J, NMH, Bon Iver), but I can't bring myself to seek more of it because I don't really like the aesthetic, I just happen to appreciate those 3 bands. It's not even the lo-fi production or diy attitude, since I listen to a lot of black metal. Dunno what is my problem
>>73454143what about gasolina?
Metal, in all its forms
>>73454185so you don't listen to Daft Punk
Grime and R&B
Psy-trance. Worthless genre chock full of repetition. Fucking hate it with a passion.
When people say they hate reggae, do they mean just reggae or do they hate Dub and stuff like that as well?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T3tg6Xwt7A
>>73455736So much like a speedrunner, RNG is your worst nightmarehttps://armasounds.bandcamp.com/album/rng-megapack
>>73455749It's dance music. Of course it's repetitive. It's not meant to be listened with headphones alone in your room.
reggae honestly. i kind find at least one song or album from each genre that i enjoy, but reggae never clicked with me.
>>73455363xD gotta love that dg hate memeDon't worry, you're fitting right in
>>73455923whatever m8, I hope you enjoy them forever
>>73454203This for me too. My best mate loves the shit and every song he tries to play for me just sounds like Hilltop Hoods to me.
>>73455849>It's not meant to be listened with headphones alone in your room.Yeah, it's for listening to at raves in a quarry with smelly 35 year old squatter typesPsy-trance is garbage. Every tune is the same.

>>73455212>the state of /mu/
any hiphop and rap
reggaeton isn't actual musicit's just background noise for partiesthere's no art, there's nothing to "get into"t. latino
>>73456337That's the plebiest most try hard opinion I've read on this board, and I don't even like reggaeton. This board is slowly turning into facebook for anons.
kpop and jpop. shamefully, only because of the fanbases. however, i can't imagine myself enjoying it regardless of fans.
Folk and K-pop.
>>73456445I think there are many valid arguments about how shallow or comercial the genre is, but calling it backround noise for parties, artless and nothing to get into tells you more about the people's (lack of) music knowledge rather than actually pointing out the genre flaws. Straight out saying that you don't like it could've been a better argument.
>>73456301of all genres of music, for me this is the most widespread and rewarding, anon. unless you've never indulged in earth2 at full volume, only to get sucked into a whole new level of atmosphere.
>>73456520not that anon, but how is it musically credible? it is just the same track rehashed with different (although almost always interchangeable) lyrics.i feel this was the pinnacle:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q398s8GECg
Fusion. The soul patch of music genres
>>73455340Trying too hard
>people disliking reggaeI hope I never have to come into contact with you people irl
>>73456568>but how is it musically credible? While I believe it's as shallow as you can get, in this modern age you can't just critique music by composition. Elements like production and mixing are as important on some genres. It's the equivalent of summer blockbusters, you can call them souless (being accurate), but they're polished in some aspects, enough to at least recognize them. And I don't even like reggaeton.
>>73454143Good job getting laid fucking beta
Trap, hands down. >t-t-t-t-t>t t>t-t-t-t-t-t-t>slur some southern-style rhymes>repeat as necessary
