>tfw passing helmet plebs
>>
In some places, it's against the law not to wear a helmet. Does not wanting to get slapped with a fine make you a pleb?
>>
>>1055407
Yes, same as not riding on the sidewalk where it's safe. Everyone should ride on the sidewalk because I'm a stupid cager who doesn't even understand traffic laws.

>helmet plebs
You are wrong. Helmets are a safety element and a status object, making it something that filters real cyclist from pleb riders. The same for lycra sets.

>he doesn't commute in an aero helmet with mirror visor

is /n/ gonna laugh at me if i prefer using nutshell style helmets instead of the aero ones?
>>
>>1055442

Not at all, it's perfectly fine to wear a helmet like that up until your 14th birthday.

it makes it more appropriate. it was never silly, though.
>>
Silly helmet fags.
>>
If I was a commuter in a large city where I had to legit worry about getting hit by a car or knocked into signs or structures by pedestrians, yeah, I'd probably wear one... otherwise, I can't be assed,
>>
Peds/bike only path= no helmet
Road/mtb= helmet

I believe this is correct

Quiet, slow roads and bike paths = no helmet
Busy, fast roads and riding at night/while drunk = helmet
>>

I commute in London which is notorious for cyclist deaths (several in one week at a time) and I still don't wear a helmet. And I ride in the busiest roads as well on a singlespeed.

git guys

These are the kind of cucks who wear helmets.

Woah man you're like such a badass lol
>>
>>1057324
Same here. In fact, wearing a helmet makes you take more risks because it gives an illusion of safety. If your head goes under the wheel of a 12 ton bus you're dead helmet or not.

check out the Bern FL-1, really nice blend of the two styles. I love mine, it's cheaper and actually lighter than equivalent LAZER helmets.

Yeah, maybe if you've never been in an accident. My helmets have saved from cracked skulls before.

Look, kid. I don't know who you are or what kind of riding you do, but I'm not one to back away from a challenge -- or from danger. You see those professional freeriders hucking backies off 30 foot cliffs on gravity rigs? Yeah, I'm one of those guys. Or the guys riding 100km/h in a pantheon only centimeters away from other riders, where the slightest mishap would send them flying onto the pavement -- or worse, off the cliff that the road is running alongside? Yeah, I'm one of those guys too. I'm a 3-time downhill world champion and a 5-time Tour De France winner. I also have the 3rd lowest time ever recorded in the Race Across America, the most difficult endurance sport event in world history. Then you little BMX punk kids and fixie hipster faggots come and tell me that I am afraid to take risks? No, fuck that and fuck you. I'm not afraid to take risks, I'm just not an idiot. I'm all for adventure and risk, but there is literally no reason to ride without a helmet or without brakes, ever, under any circumstances (aside from riding brakeless in a velodrome). I hope you get run over by a death cage and die, kiddo.

>>1055373
I average literally three times the velocity of either of those fucking casuals. They are on fucking meme tier cruisers that shouldn't even exist. And it looks like helmetless guy hit his head and brain mush is flying out.
>>1055555
Looks like Lord Kek believes in reducing the human population. Not surprising at all. Shadilay!
