Couldn't get the wheel bearing done but my buddy fixed some other stuff for me.

>replaced door hinges
>replaced some strut and trailing arm bolts on the driver rear

His press isn't stronk enough to get the bearing done so I'll probably just go to Pep Boys again. Or ask around for a more local place to do it for a similar or cheaper price. Those franchise garages take their sweet time.

He's also gonna make me a VTEC sub harness to get that working finally. Pretty based.

I didn't even ask him to do these particular things so I'm super appreciative of it. He usually charges people to fix things but I think he only does that to normies that never work on their own car when they can. He also fixed my hand brake which is nice because I can't park in gear at delivery addresses while leaving the car running at the same time.

>replace wheel bearing
>move the front strut C-clips to the top position for more spring adjustment to lift the car
>muh VTEC

That's it as far as mechanical stuff I think. I wanna see the difference between his car and mine once his is out and running again.

He's the sole maintenance guy for this apartment complex that is all one bedroom. Been there for over 10 years and his boss gave him that garage to do all his car shit in. A good chunk of the parking lot is unused by the tenants so he keeps his junk cars there too. It's a pretty perfect and I'm kinda jelly. Though unlike me he actually spends time after a full shift of work messing with cars. I get too lazy when I clock out. kek

I think I filled my hatch with high octane once. Nothing bad happened but I was mad that I spent all that extra money.

I like the idea of a new modern CRX although hybrid it's still just as powerful as the old ones right? I know it's dogshit slow and rightfully so but it's alot more economic than what I have now and manual which is a huge plus for a hybrid. I've seen some with under 40k miles for like 12k which seems to be a great deal, any known issues? Batteries seem to be reliable from what I've seen and read

Power to weight, I'd say it's probably slower. But it has all of the torque at 1k RPM so it's easy to short shift to save on gas, so much so I've been averaging 40 em pee gees even though it isn't rated for that. Newer ones, 2013+, have slightly more power because of a lithium-ion battery pack (130hp/140ftlbs vs 122hp/128ftlbs) and the Sport+ feature which I have yet to figure out. Even I haven't found any major issues online with people going well over 100k. I would recommend you get the facelift models 2013-2016 if you can, because more power and the back-up camera is surprisingly handy.

My only three complaints so far are:
>C pillars are enormous but back-up camera helps
>Can't see over the hood

I haven't done anything to the paint and it still looks great, but I don't know about the black.

Honda's been weird with the Zed. A former Honda service advisor told me they've only seen two different cars come in for regular maintenance, and three dealers told me the same thing about how none of them carry information pamflets about the car because they only got two per model year.

There are other companies like HKS that make supercharger kits, forged pistons and rods, but no OEM warranty though.

If you have a chipped ecu you only need to run 1 wire for the vtec solenoid, then just don't hook up the pressure sensor and turn it off in crome.

So I want to upgrade the brakes on my Accord. I was looking at the EBC sport rotors with Red stuff pads.....But now i'm looking at these because of the cross drilled rotors and cheaper price.

http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/61A5870A0A0.aspx
Is this good hardware?

If not, what would /hg/ suggest?

Thanks Honda bros
>>
>>17061965
No chip at the moment, just a stock P28. Both the VTEC and oil pressure sensor wires are gone on my interior harness. JDM engine too so no sensor. Gonna do this -

How bad is it to wait until redline before shifting?

Merging onto the freeway from the ramp is rough because the speed limit is 75.
Basically it's:
- come down ramp at ~25mph
- shift down into second
- start accelerating
- redline in 2nd, shift into 3rd
- redline in 3rd, shift in the 4th
- get to ~5000 rpm in 4th before I'm up to speed, shift into 5th
>>
>>17062027
redlining is fine, bouncing off limiter might be a little more hard on the engine. id be in 3rd at 25mph so at most id just be upshifting unless you really need dem torques to catch up
>>
>>17061911
Oh shit they started making them in manual
Based Honda
>>
>>17062027
I don't do it too frequently but I'll take my engine to 7000 with a 7100 limiter. Keeps the carbon buildup low I think.
>>
>>17061992
The ratings look pretty good. I personally recommend hawk pads and rotors
>>
>>17062027
It'll cause the piston rings premature wear if done often
>>
>>17062073
>>17062099
I definitely need the torque.
The speed limit is 75, but the flow of traffic is around 80.
And it merges into the right lane, so there's almost always a convoy of truckers doing 85mph and a lot of them refuse to move over.

The ramp to get on the freeway is a downward-sloping circle with about 100 feet of merge space after you get off.
It's every day when going home from work.

There's been an issue at Papa John's and I've been waiting for over a week for them to make their mind about keeping me or letting me go, so I've taken upon myself to apply to another pizza restaurant.

I can either work at the Marco's Pizza that's nearby - I can still enjoy most of the roads, in a smaller area - or I can help my sister out at Dominoes in another part of the county - it's a busy area and no worthy roads and they're severely short on drivers.

question about bushings my dude
what tools are required
>>
>>17070852
Mine already had them when I bought it but being the 10th owner they were worn to shit so I had to replace them all. Generally you need a torch, a cutting tool, a hammer, and something for the hammer to hit to push the metal bushing sleeves out. It's a pain but if you have any suspension noises those bushings should eliminate them.

>>

>>
>>17070873
A torch helps because it melts the bushings out I think and makes them easier to remove. My car is very comfy on the highway with those bushings. Also I think replacing old OEM bushings with new OEM bushings may require a press. All I used was a rubber mallet to get mine in.

Top hat bushings are easy, I only used a flat head to get them out and a mallet to put the new ones in. Might as well skip the rear lower control arm ones, it's better to get aftermarket LCAs. Really the only ones you'd have to work on are the front LCA bushings.

Would it be easier to take the front LCAs totally off to do the bushings, or just whack away under the car? Having only Harbor Freight jackstands spending time under the car makes me mildly uncomfortable.
>>
>>17070919
Yeah it'll be a lot easier to just take them out and do it. There are bushings where it bolts to the subframe and where the wishbone bolts up to it. A lot of my front end noises came from worn bushings in there. Definitely worth it.

Literally all my tools are Harbor Freight so I feel you there. kek

We're almost to page 10 so thread might archive soon.
